Honestly I'm not sure how I feel about Chaos right now. Obviously still too early to tell completely, but my initial impressions are that he's a worse version of his CLR self. My main reasons being

>Azhi can be killed by projectiles now
>Azhi can be killed by A normals now
>Azhi is now prioritized if both Chaos and Azhi are standing on top of each other
>The CS window for Azhi's special was increased by 5 frames (went from CSing on frame 4 to CSing on frame 9)
>Vorpal no longer makes Azhi invulnerable when using 623A/B
>22X set-ups are harder because of an additional 4 frames added to the proximity trigger attack

It's more of the same mostly but the new mechanics give you a couple more options (3D aka "Creeping Edge" aka KOF roll, celestial state by winning vorpal with 6 GRD blocks gives you 30% damage increase instead of the usual 10% damage increase and Steer Ender (A+B off of any normal) which depending on where you do it in a string of attacks either increaes or decreases your GRD blocks).
Which character did you play? Maybe their new move(s) will be enough to bring you back into it. Otherwise if you're burned out you shouldn't force yourself to play.
I played Yuzuriha mostly. And a fair amount of Gordeau.
Well Yuzu's execution got made easier since no damage penalty on d stance and her anti-air 2FF is nice. Gordaeu has a new 6FF overhead that's plus on block I believe.
Oh and I think his routes involving j.236x have also stabilized more (every character accross the board is at least alittle bit easier to play than they were before).

Using your FF against Mika is kind of annoying because her 66B is as fast as yours but you do outrange her but she'll most likely be in the air at most times. Plus 623A > CS initiation is fricking degenerate.

His buttons might start to outrange you if playing at max range.

if Kuon is mashing on various projectiles, use your force function>slide to deal with him auto piloting. Once he starts respecting your force function mash and stops doing lasers and tries to 3C you, you can start canceling out of the force function to bait him and actually play footsies. Tsurugi 66B is a good button in neutral, it's fast as shit, hits pretty high and lets you convert easily while it's annoying to punish. I couldn't find an answer against a Tsurugi player doing that on round start

I LOVE games like this. But my biggest drawback from trying new ones is I just don't see the point. I mean, what's different from this and Guilty Gear or BlazBlue? How do you make it different enough to be worth buying a new game when I could totally go back and play Guilty Gear? What's the point?
Guilty Gear is significantly different especially before Strive.
Those games are all pretty distinct, if you don't notice the difference perhaps you've just not delved deeply enough into any of them.

The differences between fighting games are significant but they only exist if you plan on playing them more than once every other weekend
Gameflow. Anime fighting game characters often do whatever they want regardless of intended system mechanics/gameplay or power levels and top tiers make the rest look like fools. Under Night and especially Under Night 2 is special because it's anime fighting game characters but they adhere to a strict ruleset of gameflow that produces a very balanced and viable roster without getting homogenized or infringed on.

All three newcomers being that popular isn't that unexpected, new characters are what attracts a lot of people who have only partial interest in games to come back. So far they all seem well received by players but it's hard to see if they'll stay that high, especially once newer characters come.

Nah, I don't think I'm at a level where that'd be useful at all. I'm having issues covering distances. I try opening with neutral B into 2C then 6B and then either 236 or 623 B and finally 236C, but instead every time I just seem to stand in place instead. It worked in practice, but I guess in real practice I just stand in pace and mash the C button while failing to do a dragon punch motion. Maybe I'll try a character with more range next time, it's frustrating getting a hit confirm in and then failing to do anything with it.
If you want range then 66C and 214[X] is your friend, especially with sword/shield buffs.
Kinda hard to buff on the permanent defensive.
I tried a bunch of 214x to variable success but then I bounce them and don't really know how to follow up on that, or I just whiff it, or just plain mess up the input. I'm too used to blazblue's airdashing, and also having Ragna's standing B. Maybe drill hair wasn't the best choice, or maybe I just need to gid gud. Probably both.
Carmine rules neutral, not many characters are getting around that. That's what he trades for health.

Check if you're using different versions for proton between your computers. As far as I'm aware only experimental and GE play the intro correctly. Make sure that you have the correct gstreamer decoder installed for wmv too

I'm pretty sure I do. I'm not sure what I could possibly be missing. I've also checked to see maybe my laptop couldn't handle loading the file size but that's not it. These are also MP4's just renamed to a .wmv format. I don't think I should be missing anything on that front either but I'm not particularly versed in what packages I should have for situations like this. I've also tried multiple versions of Proton but no luck. I'm running the game on both machines with Experimental. The game itself runs fine.

I'm playing UNI but I don't blame him. It's working for me now, but the lobbies are still shit, I've only had bad connections so far and it's just a hassle to play compared to Tekken, which is expected with Tekken being a bigger title with more players, but UNI shot itself in the foot with its launch and exacerbated the issues it was already going to have when it comes to things like playerbase.

I tested it on a DS4, a DualSense and a HORI Octa and it was worst on the Octa, even though I usually have no trouble with that in other games, and on the other two I was more consistently able to get TKs but it still wasn't completely reliable, especially compared to the beta where I got them more often than not.
I tried a DS4, an 8bitdo SN30 Pro, and an 8BitDo Pro 2, and I struggle with all of them.
I think it messes up diagonals. It certainly feels like it does anyway.
