>Conversation with Magellan that confirms Magellan as a siscon
The elf cast is pretty based, save for the female archer who basically doesn't exist beyond her intro quest.
>confirms Magellan as a siscon
Nah, not really. He's just family over flings. He already said it, he wouldn't put her above some girl he literally just met, but that's not factoring in whether he met a girl and then spent a long enough time with her.
>why is the movement type that can ignore ALL obstacles not also the fastest with the most stamina
it's not even that slow shits faster than most infantries
fricking idiot
>Start of round >Take out flying lead as well as whatever else I need early based on the map >Cast AoE speed up on everyone >Send flying lead to nearest tower >Switch flying lead to crossbow lead to run interference and support
Good fricking lord bros, I want to marry Scarlett so bad. I want to just keep my hot cow wife well bred and lactating 24/7 for the first ten fricking years of our reign. I want to spend every day whispering how insanely hot and beautiful she is and how ridiculously horny she gets me every day as I pound her fricking brains out. Until she stops having self-confidence issues and instead parades all smug around Gran Corrine, because she knows she's full to burst with my fricking seed at that exact moment. I want to kiss Scarlett in every place, both anatomical and geographic. I want the Unicorn to go from enforcing monogamy to begging me to see other people every once in a while. I want to make sure every citizien in Cornia, Fevrith, and even in other kingdoms we visit for diplomacy reasons or friendly visits, to hear her scream he lungs out as I make sure her fifth pregnancy are twins (again).
Imagine being Josef >Rowdy gigachad working his way up the royal Cornian guard ranks >Get so good that you maybe get some pussy from the widowed queen, but the history books will never say >Shit goes sideways one day >Have to run away from a kingdom turned on you and your queen, leaving her to her death while you take her son >Do the best you can and raise the young prince into the best man he can possibly be >Do so well at that too that the prince sees you as his true father >The time has finally come, and you begin to liberate the country >The young prince keeps hiring murderers, slavers and pretty sure that one guy is a rapist >Liberation slightly tainted, but at lea- >Then the young prince, newly minted as king decides he wants to be a degenerate and frick the furry/elf/Drakenholdian >Bloodline destroyed >Die
My only issue with Triangle was I'd like if the characters were less static gameplay-wise
Most of the upgrades you can pick out for them don't feel that impactful
And YES, I still choosed Eltolinde as wife >Connecting Elf land and Human land >Have 2 armies to raid Drakengard to the ground and conquer it >Beasts at the north hates humans so won't help them >Too Cold fir Drakengardians to leave north >Albion at the other side of the map, they can't get help with both my kingdoms blocking path
I never used his units during Drakengard war.
I have his brother in my squad, and will be because his loved Primm is also there
I saved the Drakengard rebels
I saved Drakengard mercenaries
>be petty thief >liberation wants to hire me? sure, sneaking into cities shouldn't be too difficult for me >their commander orders me to replace the Hoplite gigahomie with a shield bigger than I am tall >my job will be to dodge cavalry charges of entire armies all by myself
You guys lied to me and said the story is shit. I'm 30% of the way through and while the overarching story is kind of cliche, the mini story arcs are very fun. Voice acting and unique interactions between such a huge cast really make the world feel alive, and every character has their time to shine so no one feels like a waste of space. Even the mini events that occur mid stage stimulate the imagination. Kino game.
>the overarching story is kind of cliche,
Well, yes, that's usually what's called the story. How exactly are they wrong? The other shit is usually filled under character.
It's a total rollercoaster. A lot of character moments are really nice, but then they're followed by utterly stupid shit in side quests with premises or conclusions that make you go "What the frick was that". The overarching story is fine. Just fine. Not spectacular, not bad.
Story is fine. People just automatically equate a story being generic as being bad. It serves the gameplay well and you can tell they really tried adding some depth to the characters with their rapports and they really ran out of money not being able to voice or add cutscenes to them.
That's kind of how TRPGs as a whole go imo. The overall story that connects everything is either shit or meh, but the character interactions in between all that shit is the good stuff. I don't think I've ever gone into a TRPG looking for a good plot, I just want to see how good the characters are, if I don't care about them I'm probably not gonna care about the game or keeping them alive.
>That's kind of how TRPGs as a whole go imo. The overall story that connects everything is either shit or meh
FFT and Tactics Ogre LUCT both have really, really good stories that can go toe to toe with any RPG.
It's more wasted potential. It's not like FE6 where the setting and story were clearly meant to be barebones and charming in its own way; the world is extremely fleshed out and the scenario is rife for an interesting conflict that digs deep into everything. But it doesn't.
I think the story is better than fine, although not quite at "good". The explanations for overall events are slightly more interesting than we first believe. The character moments in the mains scenario are nice. The supports are pretty generic, but most FE supports are outside of 3H, so this is forgivable.
Calling Alain's name might have been an unfortunate coincidence, but I think the fact she tries to cheat by not counting the last petal after Scarlett already jumped at hearing her say Alain could count.
>Aubin, Liza and Magellan
What else.
And don't say Glaucester, because he has zero fricking synergy with them beyond just taking advantage of Aubin's war horn.
Jokes aside, that team needs a front liner and a support unit. If you want to keep it thematic, you can add other drakistani as Hilda to front and Primm as support. Tho elven archer is better than cleric in my opinion. Rosalinde maybe - she is a darkie too after all.
Oh, that came out wrong. I'm not complaining about rarity, I'm complaining about the mining hp (about 450) which is massive and is just a waste of time.
>Have 4 maps in Drakenhold and Bastorias >Have 5 maps in Cornia and Elheim >My obvious assumption would be that I'm missing 1 map in Drakenhold and Bastorias, but I have done the mining minigame like 20 times since last map without finding another one so I'm just here confused af on whether there are any more or if I'm just wasting time and money
Look at the top right of the screen while you're under the timer while mining. If you got all the maps, there's no map icon there with the stone, ore, divine shard, and/or star iron icons.
Elfland is higher level so the game kinda choose for you anyways, unless you're intentionally going out of order
You can just walk into Elfland and recruit Rosalinde without a battle though
>Just barely beat Galerius at Cornia >Now I have to choose between Elf girls or Virginia
FRICK, I CAN'T DECIDE
1st battle in elfland is pure assrape.
>Elfland is higher level so the game kinda choose for you anyways
If you can survive one battle you start ramping up in levels like crazy. All my squads went from 10 to 15 on this one fight because it's a wave of 50 enemies thrown at you. I think this is on purpose to level you up to the correct level if you do choose to go to elfland. There are even Arbalests for a few free levels right off the bat
Elheim is higher level. The game kinda pretends you can choose but not really (well, you could go and do it, but you'd be breaking progression and making things harder only for things to be boringly easy later when you have to do Drakenhold).
Either way, cross the elf forest one moment before starting the first quest so you can get the first elf waifu.
>How much harder is expert than tactical?
I started on Expert and Expert feels just right. If you have ever played a video game before, I recommend Expert. I can't imagine the game being easier. The stats are different and then with Expert there is also a 10 item limit
10 item use limit is arguably easier though because you're less likely to deplete your fricking provisioners and thus less likely to make stupid choices in battle.
>10 item use limit is arguably easier though
Only if you're a moron looking to argue >you're less likely to deplete your fricking provisioners and thus less likely to make stupid choices in battle.
You will never need items, but in instances where you might get yourself fricked into a corner, an item limit will make it so that you cannot miraculously unfrick yourself out of an unwinnable situation as easily
So is there a reason people are saying the story is 'bad'? I just finished the game and it seems pretty straight forward to me. Just because a story is 'predictable' or played straight doesn't mean its bad, you know? And theres also some great twists throughout the game that make it worth it.
>So is there a reason people are saying the story is 'bad'?
That's just zoomer culture. Contrarianism and hating everything. They haven't grown out of it yet. This game is too easy and the story sucks. By the way, I'm currently living in the UO thread on a mongolian basket weaving forum and I am currently doing my TZ playthrough. Am I cool yet?
Basic is bad for some people. I personally don't mind it as a basic story can still be told well (and poorly), but I can see how some people are going to be rubbed the wrong way if they have to go through "Prince Liberates a country through the power of friendship #1052" again.
You're on the most hyperbolic place in the internet. The story's fine just don't expect actual political intrigue or whatever its pretty much a 90s fantasy anime.
people have been calling FFV's story bad for decades even if it probably is one of the better ones just because it is a very straightforward adventure of guys becoming friends during their travels and stopping the big evil guy
2 very gruelling missions, at least on True Zenoiran. That's the closest I got to getting stuck on this game, because warrior princess was fricking carrying my shit team.
[...]
I know, anons.
This is my run on TZ and I'm trying some shit.
If I were you, I'd put it off as long as possible.
has anyone tried finishing the game with the unpatched version? was it notable more difficult that 1.01?
I remember having a lot timeouts and near ones on expert in the demo, and it never became a problem except a couple liberation missions in 1.01.
I didn't care for it as much.
Bastorias and Drakenhold leitmotifs are gold.
Fight theme against Alcina, Elgor, etc is awesome.
Elf land music is whatever but the "Witch's Word" version makes me diamonds.
>can get this for like 43 quid instead of the general retail price games get these days
The only tactics games I played were old flash games and 20 hours of Devil Survivor 1, how is this for someone to get into these games, and how much bang for my buck can I get from it?
if you didn't get filtered by Belrd in devil survivor you should be fine
If you enjoy character building and messing around with teams and formations you may love the game
you'll get easily 50+ hours unless you're autist and skip every single animation for some reason
the first zone (Cornia) is essentially an extended tutorial where the game slowly introduces new classes and map mechanics at you. Once you get out of Cornia the challenge starts ramping up but still smoothly
I will not pretend the music isn't bad and the story isn't bad. Even B-tier SRPGs like Disagaea and Tactics Ogre have ten times the soundtrack this does.
I'll assume 15-16 then, 14 if for wishful thinking. Designing him noticeably shorter reads as intending he be younger. And Virginia is anywhere from 23-29 but probably not on the upper end. A decent range. Gilbert could have been getting sassy with her as young as 6 or so when she was a teen.
>I'll assume 15-16 then, 14 if for wishful thinking. Designing him noticeably shorter reads as intending he be younger.
No it doesn't. Some characters are tall and some are short. For example, in Dragon Quest 11, the 16-year-old hero is taller than his 19-year-old male companion, Erik.
There are a ton of reasons why Vanillaware might have wanted Gilbert to be short regardless of his age, but I would guess that Gilbert was designed to be Alain's age but shorter and more slender so his design isn't "competing" with Alain's more handsome, masculine look. They're both princes of a similar age, but as the main character and leader of the army, Alain is given the appearance of the "greater" man.
>First love
Scarlett >LoveLove blooming at first sight
Eltolinde >Hate to Love
Tatiana >Literal Racist turn Racemixer (still racist)
Thedogfox thing >Loves Superior Males Only
Amalia >Gaylove
Travis >Didntknowewererelatedoopslove Leah
It's a meme, her blue hair is noted as being uncommon by Ren I think which has led to theories but we only ever see members of Alain's family with the light blue hair so she can't be directly related. Probably a bastard child of some royal or just from a poor family that didn't want her.
Both whisked away from their rightful birthplace to be raise elsewhere, both in the end grow to respect their father figures despite having flashes of doubt of place & purpose.
Theres definitely something fishy going on that either wasnt fleshed out or kept subtle/up to interpretation.
I mean they already have virginia cousin sex, it isnt too far off to draw that she's Alain's half little sister or something.
Also Rosalinde though ngl, that Magellan rapport has me wondering if she isn't just naturally flirty. She definitely does get the hots for Alain though.
And well, Melissandre, but her crush comes across as shallow af until like the third rapport.
>Which girl loves (You) the most?
scarlet but she's boring.
i want to marry Berenice & Monica but i feel like monica still loves clive so i might settle with Berenice(the better of the two anyways) chole is a close third but she's for lex
Only thing that kinda sucked for me was that enemies barely used elves, beasts and angels outside of their territories (actually, none at all), when they have no problem using Wyverns, swordmasters or thieves in other continents.
Yes, storywise, it wouldn't make sense but that would have been cool.
>mystic conferral lasts all fight long, it applies to all attacks, counters and pursuits that character does >if paired with Scarlett, using a passive on her will trigger passive miracle which will heal the elf and cause a party-wide heal >look into her accessories, elves can equip some nifty stuff only spellcasters can use
That one at the very far end of Elfland made me laugh >Man that elf guy who saved me was so hot >But he's actually like 200 years older than me... >Oh well still hot

>all those thirsty female soldiers stationed in Elheim
Are the Elf boys over there gonna be okay?
If I give a swordmaster a spellsteel sword is there no way to assign them to use the higher magic attack of it against armored units since it doesn't provide a unique attack like the runic sword does?
Restoring PP on your wolf so he can keep going nuts.
Or restoring PP for buffs/abilities used by items and add an extra cost to the unit (aka asetup that uses lots of PP and a pendant alone does not cut it). Making them a buffer themselves is also a good idea
>Kills every kind of enemy squad in its path
Based team, Before I had Clive but now that Gloucester is a Dark Knight, Monique healing goes well with him.
I feel sainted knight and elf is overkill, unless Ridiel is mostly for cleansing debuffs.
You do not need rosalinde/eltolinde with that team, since cans do not need the teleport, I feel
Ridiel is for cleaning debuffs + medic pack. This is my Team 2 and because at my Team 1 is Eltolinde I wanted her to be at my second as I use her at Team 1, attack + healing
Red pill me on Dark Knight. Why would I use one?
Reduces his life to attack, so I put him a Sainted knight for chain healing + healing 2nd row units.
Also, I want a full line of cavalry, is cool.
>Also, I want a full line of cavalry, is cool.
Yeah, I agree, but I just use regular cav with sainted. Everything about DK looks kinda like a lot of extra babysitting for something that isn't really even that great, but I'd like to be wrong
>Everything about DK looks kinda like a lot of extra babysitting for something that isn't really even that great
I think it is babystitting for something that ends up being really good, but not as good as just using regular cavalry. DK still has all of cavalry's broken advantages (movement speed, 2x damage to infantry) in a slightly more flawed package.
>Not sticking Eltolinde at the back of a cav line so she can use Rescue to drag stragglers from ridiculously large spaces of the map straight to the frontline
>Also, I want a full line of cavalry, is cool.
Yeah, I agree, but I just use regular cav with sainted. Everything about DK looks kinda like a lot of extra babysitting for something that isn't really even that great, but I'd like to be wrong

Doom Knight can work fine, needs a Power Belt though. Worth bringing for that busted ass Valor skill.
They're mediocre for the first 19 levels, but the moment you get Dark Flame, just ignore the almost dead hp shit and just spam that until everything dies. They're especially stupid in a team that can inflict any sort of debuff.
If I'm going to do a TZ run where I kill everyone, what about the optional recruits whom I do not get the chance to kill? And what about the canon squad who joins your party anyway?
Do what you want. Currently I'm doing >3 teams only (up to 5 members, of course) >mandatory / forced members only >kill members if the option is available (Auch, Melisandre...) or allowed them to be killed if it doesn't frick up mission goals (Primm, for example) >decline every member who wants to join if the option to refuse them is available >no hired mercenaries >no fliers >no Colosseum >no Divine Shard trade, or black market >no shopping >side quests and liberations are allowed; there is no limit in battle numbers
I want to beat the game with least possible chars (have them 20 atm) and I skipped some missions and side quests where useless members join. Like Rolf.
That ruleset seems really toxic for Drakenhold, not sure how you take down Wyverns consistently without fliers unless you are just abusing Offensive Curse for anything problematic (and I do not think Selvie is required?). (Yanha does not one-shot Wyverns are are come close to being one-shot in retaliation with Ground Counter, Rolf does not one-shot without Powerful Call)
Yeah, there was one cancer map (forgot its name) where you need to conquer all 'stations'. Basically I ran the entire map with my strongest unit while the other 2 (didn't even use the guest unit) were stationed at base and defended it. For some unknown reason every flier was focused on attacking my base instead of trying to win back theirs, which made the mission quite easy.
I assume that you unlocked the Sigil Phamton battles, and if so, what did you do with Selvie? I do not think she is mandatory, but she does join if you wish to unlock that content.
an elf fencer might be better, they can also equip the familiar choker, self-cleanse for a guaranteed dodge and their magic attack also triggers magic pursuit
Nothing in the localization I felt was offensive or against the spirit of the characters themselves. In this case, I do believe more characterization is, in fact, better.
Localization is almost always troonylated garbage done solely to "leave a mark", but I don't think the mustache guy's localization is bad at all. It's kinda funny
>ring scene in English: You complete me Alain, you are the essence of my soul and I will love you until the end of time. >ring scene in Japanese: EEEHHH DOKI DOKI KOKORO HAYAI
Fricking fanfiction.
>Phantom Sword: Swordmasters >Phantom Lance: Elf Sisters >Phantom Axe: Doom Knights >Phantom Bow: Elven Archers
Also, is it just me or is the Silver Trident made for Eltolinde? She has no good crowd clearing move until pretty late in the game and you don't really need her healing that often.
>and you don't really need her healing that often.
Eh depends on the squad you have her in. Before the elves got their AOE spells I had them around as support.
You can also give the silver trident to a cav to make them an even bigger menace
>SM can't punch through guards
Fighters/Hoplites get OHKOed through Runic/Phantom Sword Crits.
Radiant Knights have below average P.Def, you should be able to chunk a decent amount of HP from them assuming that you have an up to date weapon.
Great Knights probably need something stupid like Meteor Slash + Inspiration + Charged Impetus to go down later on in the game if you try to deal with them physically. Didn't check too hard on the Runic Sword side of the formula.
Offensive/All Rounder SM aka Aramis has 47 P.Atk and 37 M.Atk
Runic Sword has 14/20 M.Atk
Phantom Sword has 16/25 M.Atk
Offhand should either be Cornix for passive +5 M.Atk or Wyvern Razor for +10% Crit and 20% Crit Damage
Great Knights have 100 HP, 39 Def and 35 M.Def.
Magick Attack has 1.5x Damage
Phantom Sword has 1.2x Damage
Inspiration Modifies Atk by 1.3x and final Crit Damage by +50%
Now, assuming that everything is endgame level w/ Razor and Phantom Sword
Attack: (37 + 25) * 1.3 = 80.6
Base Damage: (80.6 - 35) * 1.2 = 54.72
Crit Damage: 54.72 * 2.2 = ~120
If we used Cornix instead of Razor then we deal ~125.

That solves the guarding problem, but you still need to give the SM favoritism (an Inspiration usage, one of two magical swords that Sainted Knights want more) and also likely 2 eyepatches to get crit rate to 100%. A lot of work to make a bad unit slightly les terrible.

>Inspiration is favoritism
There is no damage dealer in UO that functions adequately without some form of buff whether its Cav Call, Sorc Connection, Debuffs, Powerful Call or whatever. Its also pretty ridiculous to NOT use Inspiration on the class with the highest critical rates in the entire game.
>Magic Swords
You have two Runic Swords and a Phantom Sword. Sainted Knights are supportive units first and offensive units second, on top of them being below average initiative wise. By the time that a Sainted Knight acts, she's either healing off damage or the rest of the team already acted and she's cleaning up scraps. Not to mention the whole, you want your armor buster to be one of the faster characters not the slower ones, to stop them from cover spamming and wasting time.
Furthermore, even if you gave both mandatory Sainted Knights the Runic Sword, there's still the Phantom Sword that SMs are uniquely designed to use because the other sword users cannot afford to use a weapon with 0 P.Atk since that cripples their damage output. SMs completely bypass that flaw entirely.

>There is no damage dealer in UO that functions adequately without some form of buff whether its Cav Call, Sorc Connection, Debuffs, Powerful Call or whatever. Its also pretty ridiculous to NOT use Inspiration on the class with the highest critical rates in the entire game.
Cav Call is free. Powerful is with an accessory I am using anyway. I actively need to give someone in my unit a Gambler's Coin and use one of their valuable PP just to make SM passable. Not to mention the fact that this SM setup no longer makes its attack a truestrike, so the -50 accuracy actually matters. >your second point
Armor formations that the enemies use almost always involve several, so taking out one does not stop cover antics. And if you want a Sainted Knight to fill the role of armor assassin, literally give her a Dove/Raven Plume and she can still fulfill her healing duties at the start of the following turn (and probably better, as well).
SMs are one-trick ponies who do not even do that trick exceptionally well, require both team support and exacting items, but they are fun to use, so if you want to use them, go for it.

>-50 Accuracy actually matters
Cavalry and all of the other high guard rate units have non existent avoid and this is coming from the class with S Rank Accuracy. You're only using Phantom Sword against things that can guard because that's its point.
>Gambler's Coin
Is superior to Powerful Call when running units with high inherent accuracy or truestrikes since they can gear for raw crit instead. So Snipers, Yunifi, Amber Lens, Swordmasters, Amber Lens, etc.
>Cav Call
Cav Call also requires you to explicitly build a team around it because a singular great knight doesn't really cut it. Those teams also require you to stagger team speed so that the non great knights are slower than the GKs. This is relevant for your later point with the Sainted Knight because not having Cav Call on her has implications for her damage against certain targets.

VANILLAWARE YOU FRICKING c**tS LET ME BATH MY GIRLS THERE IN FULL EXPOSURE DAMMIT
2 Elf Archers are fine, give them both Dove Plumes and have one use conferral on Rosa and the other use it on Etol. Later, you can have one freeze the front row and the other freeze the back row.
I just finished the game earlier and I'm reading there is apparently another quest afterwards at the Zenoira sanctuary but I don't see anything there. Am I missing something.
really?
no reeeddit memes, "get a tan cuz white skin bad" or muh patriarchy oppressing female knights garbage?
might but for switch if that's the case but vanillaware are still absolute morons about pc huh?
gonna investigate
So what's up with this, I beat the game and I can't do anything here.
Cut content?
DLC?
It looks similar to the face Auch can examine but it is different.
I dunno, to me it feels kinda cheaty to double up on the same team comp. Maybe in my TZ playthrough I might. But god damn the speed is just so good and then they aren't bad at killing things either
I just think that reading their kit, they sound like extra work when less work would perform equally. I'll use one in a squad and then post my opinion in a day or two
Phantom Axe
Filler Shield
Power Belt
Carnelian Pendant
Dark Flame: Row w/ 2+ Enemies
Phantom Attack: Focus Infantry and Armors
Sanguine: HP < X
Vengance
Toughness: HP < X
Demonic Pact: HP > X, AP < Y
Maybe set up another Toughness that you turn on occasionally when fighting gryphons.
As much as I do like this game. Of the 3 this one is my least favourite. Rebirth and DD2 are better. Heck if it were any other year this game would probably be my GOTY, Rebirth and DD2 are just too good.
You'll have to wait a few years to play the Dark Arisen version of DD2. Don't play it until then. If you already bought it, refund it. Wait for the PC version of Rebirth for when the DLC has already been released so you don't have to double pay for that one either. EZ PZ
I've already got all 3 on my PS5 and having fun with all of them.

I've been using Yunifi's Glacial Rain nuke strat, but it hasn't been working I think when I reached Lv.35.
My trick is to use Ridiel's Quick Act from White Cat Hood accessory (4 PP) as soon as Yunifi charges her Glacial Rain to instant nuke.
But recently, my Lalanoa started to act first AND my Ridiel started to use Quick Act on Lalanoa instead of Yunifi. It doesn't matter what Lalanoa's skills I turn off, no matter what skills she uses, Ridiel will ALWAYS Quick Act on Lalanoa right after she acts.
I tried to give gambit setting on Quick Act to "only use on Back Row / only use on character with highest accuracy (Yunifi) / only use on character with highest attack (Yunifi), otherwise, skill will not activate" but it doesn't matter. THE GAME FRICKING LIES. It still activates and Ridiel still uses it on Lalanoa instead of Yunifi.
I could turn off all Lalanoa's skills or replace her, but she's so good in that squad.
Stat conditions don't work like that because they're soft (PRIORITIZE), not hard (USE ONLY).
If someone triggers it, doesn't matter if they don't meet the stat prioritization - they're the only valid target.
To solve your issue, swap the positions of the two, then set Quick Impetus to Back Row + Full Column, done.
man, I totally forgot there's strategy to target specific ally class... I thought only enemies
Railanor (fencer) and Yunifi.
Also this should work too [...]
Yeah swapping position works and now Yunifi acts first... but why though? she always has higher Initiative than Lalanoa, but before I swapped position, she always acted last... is it because she's positioned on back-down, so she got last attack priority? If so, then damn... because I thought only Initiatives matter...
How does Turn Order work anyway? I never looked too much into it since everything just werks so far, until now.
I've no idea what's going on with your turn order, as long as initiatives aren't equal they should be only thing that matters.
If they are equal I haven't tested what breaks the tie, if it's squad position or not.
That's the problem, in this case, Yunifi has higher initiative (35) than Lalanoa (26), but Yunifi acted last every time... because her position is back & down?
It's obviously silly since the motive presumably is a borderline neurotic fear of arrows, but it could work strictly from a power perspective. Fencers can just slam their row attacks into the enemy in succession grinding everything down, and they also have conferrals to support Fran as well as each other, and can buff the squad in various other ways. Maybe put in a single Great Knight or Sainted Knight to balance it out somewhat.
no I just think fran is my best unit and she can rush to the end of one of those repeatable stages, and the elven girls are lvl 14 while I'm fighting lvl 22s and they need to level up
Well if you're farming that's another story. 4 at once still seems a bit overkill but I mean, if it's just for leveling up, you could do that in 1 or 2 maps.
wouldn't it be more useful to put a tank/theif in the front so you can save the frontliner/DPS's PPs/APs and give him an item to make full use of him ?
It's not something to use all the time. I use it for Werewolves' first strike attack (realistically the homies are DEAD after that). Otherwise, PP permitting, when it makes a difference.
bros why the FRICK does Virginia bogart some of my best units then run off to get catapulted into a pulp in this side mission? I thought she was smart but she literally spergs out and runs in on a suicide mission. nice to have a level with some sort of challenge, thoughever

Frick I cant decide between Scarlett, Yahna and Virginia. I dont want Scarlett to go mad from not picking her and I dont want Virginia to be married to Gilbert. I have a witch fetish too.
Please help me.
Yeah, right here.

Congratulations. You've just summerized the entire 35+ book Legend of Drizzt series.

Why don't they just make a fricking porn game already
There is already a good amount of porn steadily being produced
the unicorn is okay with you fricking elves as long as you are in a monogamous relationship
They're be-en.
Did Auch ever stop being chicken?
>flying leader is gonna be fast right?
>nope! slow as frick and only 4 stamina
kinda annoying
Faster if there is a mountain in-between.
I'd climb her mountains
I..is it weird I want to take one of these girls off their mount and like...mount them?
It's made up for by being the best movement type in the game. I have as many flying leaders as possible.
I use cavalry for my leads where I can
Which is only like 3 squads since I'm not making 5 identical cavalry doomstacks, still nice to be fast though
Hastened call is practically free
>why is the movement type that can ignore ALL obstacles not also the fastest with the most stamina
it's not even that slow shits faster than most infantries
fricking idiot
>Start of round
>Take out flying lead as well as whatever else I need early based on the map
>Cast AoE speed up on everyone
>Send flying lead to nearest tower
>Switch flying lead to crossbow lead to run interference and support
I feel like your game looks better than mine. Do you just increase the resolution?
Is there a way to easily farm rapport later in the game?
Taverns exist solely for that.
as soon as you reach the first walled city (suggested level: 5) you can go to the tavern and buy rapport for anyone
Go to the tavern and feed them.
Later taverns are a lot more time efficient .

That line doesn't make any sense tho.
Okay, but consider fricking your cousin instead
Virginia is a bossy b***h. Don't want.

Was anyone besides me reminded of Triangle Strategy in that room?
I really wanted to like this game because I'm a Team Asanogay but I just couldn't get into it.
The fights are so good tho
That's too bad, it was an all-timer for me. Only game in all my life I played newgame + all the way through immediately after beating it
My only issue with Triangle was I'd like if the characters were less static gameplay-wise
Most of the upgrades you can pick out for them don't feel that impactful
No, because I do not play games with that degree of censorship.
UGH, YAWN.
I laughed when Yunifi screamed and they had to leave tho

Favorite animations?
For me it's wild rush followed by a cavalry pursuit
You guys lied to me and said the story is shit. I'm 30% of the way through and while the overarching story is kind of cliche, the mini story arcs are very fun. Voice acting and unique interactions between such a huge cast really make the world feel alive, and every character has their time to shine so no one feels like a waste of space. Even the mini events that occur mid stage stimulate the imagination. Kino game.
Story is basically anime tier, I don't complain either
>the overarching story is kind of cliche,
Well, yes, that's usually what's called the story.
Most games in general have worse stories than those two its not just a comparison to RPGs
Yeah, but he said that TRPG's have "shit or meh stories", I just wanted to provide examples to show that this is not the case.
People just had high expectations coming from 13 sentinels. The story is serviceable
Frick them for not porting this to PC

Cucking human women is an ancient elven tradition
Unlike Rosalinde, she didn't even intend to bully Scarlett. It just happened.
Calling Alain's name might have been an unfortunate coincidence, but I think the fact she tries to cheat by not counting the last petal after Scarlett already jumped at hearing her say Alain could count.
Eltolinde is a more ruthless person, and courts Alain more aggressively than Rosalinde - she is just being cute about it.

Not to mention the animation will be shittier than the game anyway

What else.
And don't say Glaucester, because he has zero fricking synergy with them beyond just taking advantage of Aubin's war horn.
Gilbert, pushing his sandhomie peasants around?
I actually tried Gilbert + Amalia. Not convinced at all.
Jokes aside, that team needs a front liner and a support unit. If you want to keep it thematic, you can add other drakistani as Hilda to front and Primm as support. Tho elven archer is better than cleric in my opinion. Rosalinde maybe - she is a darkie too after all.
>no synergy
but he does with aubin's spin2win
dark knight can be an okay tank, with a couple vengegance stacks they become hoplite tier

Frick that mining minigame. I just want the maps and half the runs will just waste my fricking time. Fricking RNG cancer.
I hate star iron so much, how is it even harder to mine than fervrite? Meteorite weapon isn't even that strong compared to other sets.
you get that for free with the delf fencer
Oh, that came out wrong. I'm not complaining about rarity, I'm complaining about the mining hp (about 450) which is massive and is just a waste of time.
agreed
the maps come in easier than that waste
>Have 4 maps in Drakenhold and Bastorias
>Have 5 maps in Cornia and Elheim
>My obvious assumption would be that I'm missing 1 map in Drakenhold and Bastorias, but I have done the mining minigame like 20 times since last map without finding another one so I'm just here confused af on whether there are any more or if I'm just wasting time and money
Look at the top right of the screen while you're under the timer while mining. If you got all the maps, there's no map icon there with the stone, ore, divine shard, and/or star iron icons.
Use mighty dig at 2 charges instead of max. It's useless because the area isn't large enough.
it's fun tho
That's a hell of an outfit for Yahna

Take Gilbert and Glaucester out of there and put Magellan in.
>You're one of the good ones
Jesus Magellan you can't just say that
What did he say that could even be read that way?
Christ, that's smooth.
Ikr? That line instantly made change my whole view of Magellan. Turns out the dude's a straight up poet.
Besides BROsef, GODnault, Travis (my gf) or my boy Jeremy, other men can get the FRICK out of my army

>Um yeah that'll be 30 Bastrion
>I've got wood
>Only Bastrion
>I've got like 150 pieces of wood
>IT MUST BE BASTRION
>imagine trying to reinforce a stone bridge with mere wood
Why can't I just send one of my 6 fliers to the other side?
The whole army is in your pocket weighing them down.
It's even funnier when every region's bridge must be made of that region's stone. Get your dirty human rocks out of here, elves only touch Elcite.
Magellan, Aubin, Mordon, Hodrick, and Bryce are based too though.
Is there an official image of Yanha without the hat?

empires has artillery and dwarf tech

I love Rosalinde, Eltolinde, Virginia, Scarlett, and Yunifi so much bros.
>Just barely beat Galerius at Cornia
>Now I have to choose between Elf girls or Virginia
FRICK, I CAN'T DECIDE
Get free elf waifu by entering woods then go do incest
Elfland is higher level so the game kinda choose for you anyways, unless you're intentionally going out of order
You can just walk into Elfland and recruit Rosalinde without a battle though
>Elfland is higher level so the game kinda choose for you anyways
If you can survive one battle you start ramping up in levels like crazy. All my squads went from 10 to 15 on this one fight because it's a wave of 50 enemies thrown at you. I think this is on purpose to level you up to the correct level if you do choose to go to elfland. There are even Arbalests for a few free levels right off the bat
1st battle in elfland is pure assrape.
Purest form of love
>I dyed my hair white just for you
>B-Baka, you didn't need to go that far...
I gotta give it to VW. They made something for everyone, even threw a bone at the furries.
e-girlgays don't really have much though
Pedos deserve to suffer.
I'm a e-girlgay, and I'm satisfied. The art style is cute, so every girl scratches that itch that e-girls usually do.
Bros I really like this game but I'm almost finished with it.
Then start true zenorian difficulty once you’re done
How much harder is expert than tactical? What changes?
>How much harder is expert than tactical?
I started on Expert and Expert feels just right. If you have ever played a video game before, I recommend Expert. I can't imagine the game being easier. The stats are different and then with Expert there is also a 10 item limit
10 item use limit is arguably easier though because you're less likely to deplete your fricking provisioners and thus less likely to make stupid choices in battle.
>10 item use limit is arguably easier though
Only if you're a moron looking to argue
>you're less likely to deplete your fricking provisioners and thus less likely to make stupid choices in battle.
You will never need items, but in instances where you might get yourself fricked into a corner, an item limit will make it so that you cannot miraculously unfrick yourself out of an unwinnable situation as easily
Limit on how many items you can use in battle (I still never used enough to hit it) and slightly higher enemy stats
Alain can just bust out poetry to praise his people over random bullshit
Why is that?
He's nobility, that's pretty much all they did. War and poetry.
Would be pretty embarrassing if Magellan the desert chieftain could outdo cornian royalty in busting out sweet poetry.
I have a feeling that, if I promote really soon, I will be able to clear this map. Before finishing Elheim and Drak.
homie finish drakenhold
Nooooo I don't want my waifu be taken away.
You literally get Beren back along with recruiting Gilbert (if you do that right) after the same battle.
I know, anons.
This is my run on TZ and I'm trying some shit.
2 very gruelling missions, at least on True Zenoiran. That's the closest I got to getting stuck on this game, because warrior princess was fricking carrying my shit team.
If I were you, I'd put it off as long as possible.
You literally get her back like 2 missions later
then go there, if you cant beat the furries you can just back out, you cant brick this game
has anyone tried finishing the game with the unpatched version? was it notable more difficult that 1.01?
I remember having a lot timeouts and near ones on expert in the demo, and it never became a problem except a couple liberation missions in 1.01.
what is your favorite them from this game and why is it Farde Mal Diavolo?
Fighting off Galerius
>Albion can be reached immediately after rescuing Scarlett
I was lied to.
Albion is a lie, you have to finish a lvl 30 elfland mission before, which is what i'm gonna do when i finish bastoria first half
I will not pretend the music isn't bad and the story isn't bad. Even B-tier SRPGs like Disagaea and Tactics Ogre have ten times the soundtrack this does.
Disgaea's pretty darn good ost wise but Tactics Ogre? I dont remember a single track from that game
Try these.
>game is bad
>still here anyway
I can skip the cutscenes.
I can also skip the 2 seconds between clearing a map and the victory screen appearing, but it takes 2 seconds to skip.
Alain x Scarlet
Lex x Chloe

Simple as
>Magellan x Aubin x Liza

I just saw the scene at the coliseum where they sass each other and I'm now all on board for /ss/. How young is Gilbert anyway?
He's probably 16 or 17. Just short.
Which girl loves (You) the most?

Are you for real? I thought her parentage was unknown.
It is a bit weird that she's the only other character with blue hair...
>Leah
Hmm... that name...
Eww, frick off shipbait unicorn. Stop reaching on these convos
Only thing that kinda sucked for me was that enemies barely used elves, beasts and angels outside of their territories (actually, none at all), when they have no problem using Wyverns, swordmasters or thieves in other continents.
Yes, storywise, it wouldn't make sense but that would have been cool.

Despite the game being easy, it is way too much fun building various squads and see how well they can do. I love this game.
What other 2 characters do I put together with the black talon trio?
Alain and Josef because they're family when you give the ring to Travis.
I plan to do Rosalinde/Etolinde and Rolf
Alain and Tatiana.
Rolf/Auch or Colm/Melisandre.
How do you set up elven archers? Ridiel feels like the most replaceable member of her current unit.
Supports, give em a pursuit bracelet to mimic regular archers if you want actual damage
cast spellblade buff on people that attacks a lot like Berengaria, Snipers, landsharks then watch
I only use them as 5th unit for Curative Rain for 3 attack member squads
Freeze arrows.
Mystic conferral amping your mages or just giving magic effects to your non-mages.
Debuff cleansing.
>mystic conferral lasts all fight long, it applies to all attacks, counters and pursuits that character does
>if paired with Scarlett, using a passive on her will trigger passive miracle which will heal the elf and cause a party-wide heal
>look into her accessories, elves can equip some nifty stuff only spellcasters can use
just make sure you save one pp for those end of battle full squad heals

Mistery stats for Eltolinde, my wife!
If I give a swordmaster a spellsteel sword is there no way to assign them to use the higher magic attack of it against armored units since it doesn't provide a unique attack like the runic sword does?
Nope.
Without the specific magic attack, they use attack stat for their output no matter what

they don't ever learn any skills that have magic potency being used so no
You'd have to give them a Rune Blade
I want to play with Veggie's vegina.
What are some good setups for Owls? I wanna make a beast only squad
Red pill me on Dark Knight. Why would I use one?
I feel sainted knight and elf is overkill, unless Ridiel is mostly for cleansing debuffs.
You do not need rosalinde/eltolinde with that team, since cans do not need the teleport, I feel
Ridiel is for cleaning debuffs + medic pack. This is my Team 2 and because at my Team 1 is Eltolinde I wanted her to be at my second as I use her at Team 1, attack + healing
Doom Knight can work fine, needs a Power Belt though. Worth bringing for that busted ass Valor skill.
They're mediocre for the first 19 levels, but the moment you get Dark Flame, just ignore the almost dead hp shit and just spam that until everything dies. They're especially stupid in a team that can inflict any sort of debuff.
Primm's tavern lines are funny
I like Mordon's. It really feels like the VA was having lunch while recording.
>you can buy honeyed apples in barbatimo
What the frick, how did I miss this
>still have lumber
>still have iron ore
>can't get any aux missions because everyone wants those shitass apples
Thank you for this info.
Canonically, which girl has the tastiest pee?
Mordon
Eltolinde.
The elves
Ice lands usually have the best and cleanest water, so it's safe to assume that it's one of the ladies from that part of the world.
Would you drink 1 fluid oz of her pee?
Not at once.
Coward
yeah but they eat all kinds of wild meat amd bugs
Elves probably taste the sweetest, fox is probably a very strong and bitter flavor definitely not for the faint of heart, humans are in-between.
If I'm going to do a TZ run where I kill everyone, what about the optional recruits whom I do not get the chance to kill? And what about the canon squad who joins your party anyway?
Bench them. Remember to always bench Lex.
Do what you want. Currently I'm doing
>3 teams only (up to 5 members, of course)
>mandatory / forced members only
>kill members if the option is available (Auch, Melisandre...) or allowed them to be killed if it doesn't frick up mission goals (Primm, for example)
>decline every member who wants to join if the option to refuse them is available
>no hired mercenaries
>no fliers
>no Colosseum
>no Divine Shard trade, or black market
>no shopping
>side quests and liberations are allowed; there is no limit in battle numbers
I want to beat the game with least possible chars (have them 20 atm) and I skipped some missions and side quests where useless members join. Like Rolf.
You are a madman
It's going well. See
That ruleset seems really toxic for Drakenhold, not sure how you take down Wyverns consistently without fliers unless you are just abusing Offensive Curse for anything problematic (and I do not think Selvie is required?).
That's the woman who unlock portal, right? No, don't have it because I can refuse her, and my run states that I have to tell them to frick off.

>useless members join. Like Rolf.
How dare you mock the based lad of flier assassination.
He is fine vs Gryphons, against Wyverns he barely does 50% of their HP and eats a ground counter for >50% himself.
Works on my machine.
You need to give him damage gear or buff him with powerful call
MINIMUM RECRUITMENT. FRICK UP THOSE ENDING SLIDES.

an elf fencer might be better, they can also equip the familiar choker, self-cleanse for a guaranteed dodge and their magic attack also triggers magic pursuit

I hate you Black personhomosexuals so goddamn much.
More characterization does not mean better. Nor does it guarantee consistency and conveying shit properly.

Fricking fanfiction.
Auch is odd, he feels like he has a big backstory but since it's not relevant to the plot we don't hear much about it.
his backstory is he's a momma's boy
>never meet Auch's mom
>never meet Gammel's sister
>never meet Alain's dad
Auch's mom is dead, she just lives rent free in his head
So is Gerard, and we met him.
Isn't Auch's mom dead?
>meet Auch's mom
>she falls in love in with Alain
>meet Gammel's sister
>she falls in love with Alain
>Phantom Sword: Swordmasters
>Phantom Lance: Elf Sisters
>Phantom Axe: Doom Knights
>Phantom Bow: Elven Archers
Also, is it just me or is the Silver Trident made for Eltolinde? She has no good crowd clearing move until pretty late in the game and you don't really need her healing that often.
>and you don't really need her healing that often.
Eh depends on the squad you have her in. Before the elves got their AOE spells I had them around as support.
You can also give the silver trident to a cav to make them an even bigger menace
>knights and radiant knights don't count as armored
I find ever more reasons to mistrust swordmasters.
Medium Guard is just 50% DR and a SM can punch through them for most if not all of their health when geared properly. Unless you're using Leah.
SM absolutely cannot punch through guards. Hell, Landsknechts have trouble punching through guards.
Yeah, Vanguards/Legionnaires are fine for SMs, it is the Cavs and Landsknechts that seem problematic, maybe even werebears too.
>Unless you're using Leah.
Bro your mirrors?

VANILLAWARE YOU FRICKING c**tS LET ME BATH MY GIRLS THERE IN FULL EXPOSURE DAMMIT
You should play Lunar.
Lunar is nothing like this game, though.
But it DOES have bath scenes.
Beside the obvious choices of Alain and whoever you gave the ring to who are good candidates for getting crowns and other "all stats +5" equipment?
Swordmasters. Elves.
Characters who can use most of their stats. Elves, Featherswords, Griffin Masters, Berengaria, Nigel, Gilbert, Yunifi, Scarlett.
Paladin, Swordmaster, Elven Whatever, Doom Knights
Everyone else wastes either the physical/magical component of the global stat boost or just doesn't care about some random aspect stat wise.
TO ARMS
I'M ON MY WAY
I want to make an Eltolinde and Rosalinde squad but I want to keep them with their redundant elf underlings. Any way to make 2 Elf archers work?
2 Elf Archers are fine, give them both Dove Plumes and have one use conferral on Rosa and the other use it on Etol. Later, you can have one freeze the front row and the other freeze the back row.
I just finished the game earlier and I'm reading there is apparently another quest afterwards at the Zenoira sanctuary but I don't see anything there. Am I missing something.
did you go to the right one? there's 2 in cornia
Yeah, nothing.
You know those giant ruins in Cornia that always has goons running around? That's your map.
Just ran my ass all around there and don't see anything, no notifications from any building or what have you either.
who do i give the parry shield to

Why?
Miriam and Leah are in the front row
so how's the localization for this nu-jrpg garbage?
Flowery but pretty good.
really?
no reeeddit memes, "get a tan cuz white skin bad" or muh patriarchy oppressing female knights garbage?
might but for switch if that's the case but vanillaware are still absolute morons about pc huh?
gonna investigate
>No special bath scene for every possible maiden choice

Dinah.
So what's up with this, I beat the game and I can't do anything here.
Cut content?
DLC?
It looks similar to the face Auch can examine but it is different.
Always thought that was weird, too.
There's a secret dragon statue in drakenhold too and I think I remember another in bastorias somewhere. Hopefully DLC to come.
It is entirely far too often that I wish I had more than one full squad of cavalry
just hire them? their helmets are so cool i really should bench Clive and Adel
I dunno, to me it feels kinda cheaty to double up on the same team comp. Maybe in my TZ playthrough I might. But god damn the speed is just so good and then they aren't bad at killing things either
I want to drink the pee directly from her pussy, just wrap my lips around it and chug like I’m hitting a beer bong.
considering how cold that place looks, it would probably feel amazing and warm you up real good

This general shits on based Doom Knights too much.
I just think that reading their kit, they sound like extra work when less work would perform equally. I'll use one in a squad and then post my opinion in a day or two
Phantom Axe
Filler Shield
Power Belt
Carnelian Pendant
Dark Flame: Row w/ 2+ Enemies
Phantom Attack: Focus Infantry and Armors
Sanguine: HP < X
Vengance
Toughness: HP < X
Demonic Pact: HP > X, AP < Y
Maybe set up another Toughness that you turn on occasionally when fighting gryphons.
With this, DD2 and FF7 Rebirth I just have too many god damn games to play.
>With this, DD2 and FF7 Rebirth
So you only have one good game to play, this one.
As much as I do like this game. Of the 3 this one is my least favourite. Rebirth and DD2 are better. Heck if it were any other year this game would probably be my GOTY, Rebirth and DD2 are just too good.
I've already got all 3 on my PS5 and having fun with all of them.
You'll have to wait a few years to play the Dark Arisen version of DD2. Don't play it until then. If you already bought it, refund it. Wait for the PC version of Rebirth for when the DLC has already been released so you don't have to double pay for that one either. EZ PZ

Bastorias = Scotland

Drakengard = Spain

GUYS PLEASE HELP ME.
To solve your issue, swap the positions of the two, then set Quick Impetus to Back Row + Full Column, done.
which of the two?
Railanor (fencer) and Yunifi.
Also this should work too
set it to only target archers
man, I totally forgot there's strategy to target specific ally class... I thought only enemies
Most of the targeting rules work on your own party too, for support stuff.
I've no idea what's going on with your turn order, as long as initiatives aren't equal they should be only thing that matters.
If they are equal I haven't tested what breaks the tie, if it's squad position or not.
Front row goes first in the case of initiative tie, and I think it is right to left row order, but I am not 100% sure on that one.
That's the problem, in this case, Yunifi has higher initiative (35) than Lalanoa (26), but Yunifi acted last every time... because her position is back & down?
No idea homie, can't help you there.
>Lalanoa
Well I'll be...never thought of it that way before
big meaty b***h
is Fran + 4 elf fencers a bad comp?
Yes.
>No hard counter for eagle eye
>4x infantry completely fricks with squad mobility
she'd explode from the titty envy
4 at once still seems a bit overkill but I mean, if it's just for leveling up, you could do that in 1 or 2 maps.
honestly I could kind of see it working
>fran smites the back row to death
>fencers spam stuns so the surviving enemies don't get turns
Are there any weapons that are especially good for upgrading? I noticed it just sets everything to a set value.
Anything with a rare skills, high substats or AP or PP bonuses.

I think those characters are just unusable for you, but still appear in cutscenes. I might be wrong though.
Does "debuff immunity" include status effects like stun and freeze? I would assume not, but translations have been shaky before.
Anything debuff includes afflictions, but not all debuffs are affliction.
