>Some guy not in the dev team inserts their own sense of humor into the writing >HURRR IT'S WHAT THE DEVS WANTED
No. It's what the troon localizers wanted without any thought to being faithful to the original product as they gain immense joy from "getting away" (Their own words) with inserting their humor into the script.
>Peddling left as a "faithful" translation
Learn Japanese idiot, morons like you would miss the true intent of the writers room regardless of what translation you read
Oh wait you are too fat and lazy. Keep posting this garbage
Im 50 hours in currently on my second expert run and from the moment I first met him I knew he was going to be the best and most soulful character in the whole game
>this anon and some other mentally ill homosexuals cried endlessly about unmagicked octogenarians >the game reveals they are actually looking for hag witches, thus the translations makes perfect sense for a pompous character like that
Try two cavs + a gryphon in the Lex/Chloe unit. Lex actually dies pretty well here because he can protect cavs from flying and the Gryphon from arrows. You also benefit from the better mobility and you have decent sustain.
Sure, you seem to be infected with brainrot which makes you seethe over games you don't play. I would recommend unplugging from the internet, reconnecting with friends, and experiencing nature.
I hope this explanation helped!
It really is.
The best part is teambuilding and setting up tactics.
I've played like 12 hours a day over the past week, so today I took it slow and only played 8.
I am maybe 3 hours in so far. I'm playing on Tactical because I'm too much of a pussy to try the next difficulty (even though the game wasn't hard so far). I see there's an option to skip battles, but I don't wanna. Battles look cool.
Is there any difference in the outcome of your choices? For example, I put some guy into prison, and his pals came for him. Then later I came across some other guy who begged fpr his life, and I spared him instead of killing him. Will that affect later missions and characters I can recruit?
Sellswords are broken, they counter every attack made against any ally, get to do it again if they hit (+1 PP), and have one of the best attack growths in the game.
Even if they miss, they have a +1 AP on kill active move and a 150 potency AP attack that does a shit ton of damage. Slap some blue specs on them and let them wreck.
Regular cleric is better imo, more healing output on cav who are generally softer targets than dedicated tanks, row cleanse, and rez. The horse healer has no reason to be there since they aren't the leader nor do they affect the movement or the front row's stacking passive.
I DO use two horse healers though; one on a team with the armor guy for magic block and movement, and one with my griffons/wyverns since they cuck to magic.
I disagree. row magic block lets them run down wizards/witches with no damage. and that's more of a premium than debuff clearing. 5th slot's going to a shaman for initiative control.
>Get kidnapped. >The fricking blue prince comes for the rescue. >He also collects an army of waifus, all wanting to be the princess.
I kind of understand her problem.
>Spends years nurturing a crush on Alain, probably didn't make a move because she was hiding that she was also a hideaway big wig daughter that could possibly add even more trouble to his life than he already has. >War starts anyway and she gets kidnapped because whoopdeedoo you're actually more important for the villain's plan than Alain. >Come back and suddenly where before there was only Chloe, who wants to wingman for her anyway as revealed in their rapports, suddenly there's a serious legion of other girls and not a single one of them is planning to wait for the war to end to make a move.
Like, sure, she's starting out with advantage and if she had confessed at the start of the game she probably would have gotten a yes, but she still suddenly found herself in a female NTR doujin scenario.
Tbqh I tend to absolutely disrespect characters that take too long to confess unless it's cases like this where there's an actual external factor that scares them off, then I just feel terrible for them.

>Anno Unicorni MMXXIV. >Still no fanart of Scarlett in a cowkini.
she would be too powerful if she unleashed her full potential
her hips are stronger.
Despite how complex this is, I like how she's just not really even sympathtic.
I'm wrapping up Engage right now, and it's insane how every single person is not responsible for their actions, there's always someone else to blame. The game bends over backwards to say that Veyle did nothing wrong, but also does it with Marni, Hyacinth, even fricking Zephia.
Edelgard meanwhile was responsible for her own actions and you get to kill her for it.
Engage was a flop and had all the rainbow characters in it lmao
FE's writing and balance has always been questionable, but after Fates it went weird places. Is Engage really that bad?
Awakening I'll give you. I admit that I know nothing about RD except that Ike may or may not be gay. Like, I legitimately know nothing. Furry racism maybe?
Engage is probably either the worst or second-worst written FE game. The more I play it, the more gigantic plotholes I find. But also, like I said, NOBODY is responsible for their actions. Every character has a sob-story that makes them shrug off any persecution or responsibilities. NOBODY made their own choices the entire game, even the final boss.
it's a story for children written to the same level of logical consistency. Even a plain by-the-numbers story like UO's is 10000% better because it doesn't rip me out of the game constantly
Ice conferral on gryphon cleave
Travis in front of anything
Shamans+gladiators
Dragoon dive acceleration with the quick impetus item from the angel shop.
Wow, people sure love Virginia a lot, I wonder if there's something else to her other than just an incest kin- >Only other noteworthy thing she does in the game is get married to someone else if you don't pick her. >Her only given personality trait is "Obnoxious girlboss who will shittalk everyone in the game, including the MC, no matter if she actually has a reason to".
Aight, what the frick are you gays seeing in her? Are you all literally just from Alabama?
Her every single interaction with every single character is her ordering them to do stuff and/or criticizing them, including every other girl in the Liberation. There is no "feminism" about this, she's just simply a b***h.
Soured me off her, because Aubin is a cool dude and earned his keep for a while, eing literally the first guy you recruit outside of your starter squad
Nah, b***h better get in line if she want's to talk trash to one of my main bros. She has to earn her keep, same as everyone else.

>Edelgard >Daughter of an Emperor >Nobles throw a coup for power and sell her family to the molemen >Gets tortured by pale molemen in experiments to give her a Crest >Crests give people magic powers >Siblings die to this but Edelgard gets the strongest crest >Goddess didn't save her after she prayed >Molemen tell her to destroy the Church >Edelgard blames the Church for this so agrees >Tells the MC the Church is run by evil dragons who created the Crest System and that the Goddess isn't real, also they stole land from The Empire a long time ago >Declares war on entire world and kills innocents with Molemen's help >Turns out MC is the reincarnation of the goddess >Evil Molemen and Humans created Crests by killing Dragons >Dragons spare the humans' descendants >Also Molemen were the ones who started the successions to weaken The Empire >Edelgard's whole reason for war is completely ass backwards
Shit like this is why I prefer simple stories.

I'm just shocked more people don't realize that making an entirely evil organization responsible for 99% of every bad event in the setting isn't "deep" or "morally complex" but the most shallow writing imaginable.
I'm playing more SRPGs now, and I gotta say that's still one of the worst stories I've seen.
>as for the above anon, he could just play on a lower difficulty instead. there's no such option for people who find expert too easy
As people who don't make strategy games typically they may have thought expert was sufficient, I think they just underestimated players or the potency of being able to accrue exp/renown/honors on the overworld content
Difficulty can always be modded in, tactical RPG fanbases live for this. Hell, the PSP version of Tactics Ogre's community literally rewrote the entire combat system from the ground up.
>PSP version of Tactics Ogre's community literally rewrote the entire combat system from the ground up.
Redpill me ? I thought TO:Reborn was shit, especially since people were hyping it to be amazing
TO:Reborn was an official remake that changed mechanics. What anon is probably referring to is One Vision, which took the psp version's combat and gameplay and injected more variety and strategy by reworking all of the classes. Would definitely recommend over Reborn
What? Reborn was extremely well received and the only people seething over it were fricking casuals and bads who couldn't grind to stomp encounters anymore and had a cry on Reddit/Steam over how hard it was.
Reborn is extremely good and there is no need to play Redditvision autism 'mods' anymore.

has the right of it, One Vision was fully developed by fans, for fans, and they did a great job with it, too.
You seem to forget devs balance games for the average player, not some no life neets who played a hundreds games like these and has 20 cheese strats up his sleeve ready to go.
Just because there's a higher concentration of better players on Ganker , doesn't mean the majority is like that.
You wouldn't believe how bad the average person is at vidya, mostly due to their own laziness.
Ganker approved challenge mode restrictions
1. No gold expenditure beyond what is necessary to pass the tutorial quest (No shopping)
2. No divine shard expenditure beyond what is necessary to recruit Ochlys
3. Using Free Tavern or Mining passes is allowed
4. No liberation missions or deliveries allowed
I'm not expecting the game to stand up to the hyper scrutiny of anons who hyper maximize their tactics and squads, the issue is that you just simply overelevel and brute force the game way too hard by just doing the stuff you find as you run into it.
the exp is the least of the reasons you casually overpower enemies, the level is still pretty much capped at (whatever level major quest you did last +3) unless you grind a ton of books

>the exp is the least of the reasons you casually overpower enemies
The reason liberations are banned isn't because of exp, it's because of renown
it would be more fun if there was a difficulty that's still challenging while you squeeze out the maximum of items, renown/honor etc.
I understand that there's going to be some inherently broken shit like AoE frost conferral and if you make every boss have counters to it you might make weaker tactics even worse, so that's just on the player to decide, but why have a bunch of broken shit in the game when the only content that even considers it are optional arena battles?
>it would be more fun if there was a difficulty that's still challenging while you squeeze out the maximum of items, renown/honor etc.
We have to wait for mods for that with people who give enemies reflect skills and better equipment
>challenge restriction
When I was playing Tactics Ogre Reborn and proposed this run >no incap / death >no chariot >Denam + generic humans only (no monsters, obviously) >no uniques characters >no recruit >no blowgun exploit >no Phorampa Wildwood and no Pirate's Graveyard >no training battles >doing few sidequests (as less as possible)
I was the only one who did it. Nobody else.
This means I will have to "invent" challenge run for Unicorn once I beat it. Ptobably not this month.
>You seem to forget devs balance games for the average player, not some no life neets who played a hundreds games like these and has 20 cheese strats up his sleeve ready to go.
It's not even about that, nobody has played this before because sure it's like ogre battle but the systems are significantly different enough you have to learn from scratch.
The problem is the 'average' player can't actually fricking learn. It has nothing to do with prior knowledge and everything to do with that, modern players are worse than ever at actually learning new systems, they're all on par with streamers for levels of stupid, they can't even read shit on the screen 50% of the time its mental.
>this game has a lot of gear >this game has a lot of units >this game has a lot of skills >and on top of all that, you have the FFXII gambit system to contend with
Frick this, this is too much. You brainiacs can go ahead and enjoy your game, I'm gonna go play cookie clicker or some shit more my speed...
>and on top of all that, you have the FFXII gambit system to contend with
Unironically, FF12 is the most bestest to play if you set only ONE Gambit >Attack Enemy: Nearest Visible
set the ATB to wait, and use all items and cast all magic manually.
FFXII stan here, ignore every word of this
Literally imagine casting magic manually when the game cheats with gambits and knows magic weaknesses of enemies that are hidden even with Libra
Did I miss out on registering the enemy commander Anton’s unique sprite in the Class Registry if I did not fight him in the mission where you defend the Colosseum city? I ended up accidentally beating the mission by routing too many enemy units while trying to capture all the enemy encampments.
Berengaria+Travis can solo almost everything.
But it's also stupid putting a sellsword with a thief, considering the thief is not getting hit.
Now this is my "someone needs to man the catapults, so i might as well use the unique units" team
I love these fights because I can pull out my meme ignite team.
I'm going to put in a wyvern with fire breath in there and maybe take out one mage for something more defensive
I call this team the "AI Have no Mouth and I Must Scream."
The AI flails in its perpetual blindness as death is delivered from the sky. Ochlys is there, not to do damage (lord know she doesn't), but to look cute.
I'm esporting my shit and giving the ring to the choccy elf to help with her split scaling.
Marrying her is just a side objective. Now get on your knees and do another Double Elemental Roar, you darkie bawd.
It's easy enough to do broken shit once you know that initiative is the king in almost all fights
unless you encounter that specific comp/unit that shits on your unit (it will most likely concern bishops/druids/covering tanks/flyers)
No builds are unbeatable.
ex: a single angel guy can kill an instant Trinity Rain comp by reflecting your shit right back at you
>Shaman duststorm is fricked
Only until units start getting 2 ap and then not so much, because at that point a rogue can apply blind to a single row as well.
Anything I should know before starting the game? Tactics Ogre had all sorts of unintuitive conditions to unlock characters like doing fights in a certain order, bringing certain characters in a battle, or leaving certain characters alive during battles, is there anything like that where I'd want to follow a guide to not lock myself out of content?
Is Selvie/Shamans actually worth using? Ngl the fact they don't deal any damage kind of worries me, maybe they'd be good to defend bases but it seems they're too geared towards stalling without killing and that just makes me think you'd lose all your stamina doing stupid useless attacks that don't actually hurt.
I used them until about level 15 and I DO think they're good, but they belong in a different game where there is no time limit and defending is a tactic.
As it is, I want more blow up power, not memes.
Looks like you haven't been very far into the game to see how fricking annoying block is and how much of a godsend block seal is for your damage dealers.
>click mage team >click armored unit >no more armored unit >click MC team which is a split >click armored unit >no more armored unit >click griffon team >click armored unit >no more armored unit thanks to witch and aoe
I dunno, level 34 and armor hasn't been a problem yet. >inb4 UH THE LAST LEVELS WILL HAVE STRONG ARMOR YOU'LL SEE

yeah they've had big success blocking spells so far pal kek
The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world Shamans are for stalling.
You switch curses based on circumstances. An example is Defensive Curse melting any tank-stacking comps if it isn't cleansed.
You can wreck combos by stealing PP right under their noses with another curse.
It's just a press of a button anon, and plenty of fights don't have clerics. And even then you can still do cleric fights
This meme Doom Knight with res staff and two Power Belts uni is shitting on most things for example
And yes, a single Hunter can take care of all flyers. When Rolf here got Aerial Snipe he became a god
they are deceptively powerful, they can pretty much trivialize any encounter
burst heavy unit?
just debuff them, they die pitifully dealing no damage
tank heavy unit?
just frick their defenses, remove their chance to even guard
enemy with passive skills like deflect/parry/self-heals that are a pain in the ass to deal with if you don't have specialized counters?
just drain their PP
just want to blind the entire enemy team?
frick you, here is a party-wide blind
They even give the team free initiative, cuck any class using crit skills and can use staves which are one of the most versatile weapon classes and also get to buff casters with the familiar thingy for free
Their one downside is that they require micro-managing
I feel like I am moronic and am not good at coming up with squads. So far I have two effective ones:
Adel-Josef-Clive (Front row, with the cavalier buff move)
Alain
Bruno
Berenice-Mordon-Sharon
The first is just a power house due to Josef being OP as frick and getting tons of extra attacks along with Clive and and Adel buffing him and one another. The second relies on Bruno having a ton of HP, getting punched in the face constantly, and Berenice counter attacking.
My other squads are:
Hodrick
Rolf-Aubin-Chloe
Melisandre
Auch-Ochlys-Lex
Fran
Renault-Miriam-Yahna
Most of my units are between levels 10-15 and I've done nearly everything in the first area that I can. So far I just don't know how to make a really cool squad. I am playing on Expert or whatever, and so far I haven't failed a mission but people are calling the game really easy and I am not finding it very easy personally.
She was Alain's childhood big-sis style companion and was probably going to be betrothed to him had Cornia not fallen, she spent her days in Drakenhold daydreaming of reviving the kingdom even though she knew that her cousin and aunt were likely dead
She's a gap moe character where she is simultaneously regal but has a cute side to her like being afraid of bugs or being extremely gullible
she has a big two hander and can protect you. its a trope that caters to the majority of japans incel populace though I dont think west incels are that different when it comes to degenerate fetishes
Engage was the one with the protagonist who transitioned from Fell Dragon to Divine Dragon through decades of hormone therapy.
At least get your insults right.
My flying team is a Gryp Lord, A Wyvern Lord, a Radiant Knight, and a witch for ice memes. I feel like this unit is on the weaker end of all my units. Any way I can spice it up/make it better?
Are all the people screaming how the game is so easy just still in Cornia? I still wouldn't call it super hard, but the difficulty seems to keep increasing throughout the game, especially compared to Cornia which is basically the tutorial zone
The have a single doom stack and just rush the boss.
It was the same in FE games. they would just abuse teleport staffs and say it's easy to cheese the game.
>The have a single doom stack and just rush the boss.
The tactics, stamina and formation system should prevent this from being a thing though
If it doesn't then that's a balance problem
Except that smoked nuts are super common and as they kill, you can spam revitalize to keep stamina up. On most maps, you can easily just drive a unit forward and kill, spamming revitalize to keep them going with the valor they get from murdering things, along with seizing towns.
to be fair most of the liberation maps kind of encourage that exact approach, the main quests usually have some stuff going on at multiple fronts or talk conversations etc. so there's at least an incentive to not just bumrush the boss if you want to get everything
Same issue as always. morons will look up all the video guides, minmax their shit, use the cheesiest strategies and then whine the game is too easy because they didn't railroad the player into a riding, boring but difficult experience.
so what's your excuse for other games where people do that but the game is still harder than this one, like basically every other SRPG out there except for Valkyria Chronicles which is also as easy as this game?
Yes, it does, because what you're doing is called 'coping'. Instead of just admitting "yes it's unfortunate they nerfed the game in the first patch and balanced like shit" you then go to "YEAH WELL NO GAME IS HARD"
lmao
Are they harder? Not to mention the fact that the objective in other games is too kill everyone on the map and not capture a key location? What kind of moronic question is that?
>leave Cornia >Tutorial: Deserts >Tutorial: Visibility >"Hey by the way this stage has branching paths." >"And flier spam."
It was like a whole new game.
Is there a quick option to tell which units are inactive instead of me searching the entire map on every single unit? I feel like 25% of my battle gameplay is just that.
Is there a second unit you can recruit in the first fight in Elfland? The new elf guy had someone he could talk to, but I accidentally cleared the stage without letting him do it by beating the lower fort.
So Alain's team is a rape train and my thinking is that Rosalinde can handle healing because Alain and Berengaria are self healing sufficient and Virginia doesn't take much damage (Virginia will be the one to be replaced first if I come across any future spicy lads)
but I am debating unbenching Scarlett since she has a good heal and quite a few damage spells when promoted instead. Granted, I am not high enough yet to see how good Rosa's AoE stun is yet
>only 5 squads
Am I the only one who unlocked all 10 squads first, and constantly use all of them instead of just one single stack to trivialize everything?
Why would I ever use more than 5? Valor is better used elsewhere and to be honest, I only NEED two units to run over a map and I force myself to use the other 3.
Because it's more fun?
Because you feel like everyone is contributing?
Because you get to experiment with more units and setups?
Because you make thematic parties instead of just stacking the most OP units in a single one?
no they don't, and even if they did (they don't if you use a real cleric and not a horse cleric because hurr durr dey on a horse xD) having a unit avoid it's direct counter is NOT a demerit because you should be doing that on everyone anyways.

They do. And even if you they don't, you don't kill anything in return. >(they don't if you use a real cleric and not a horse cleric because hurr durr dey on a horse xD
This is exactly what i'm talking about. Thanks for proving me right
it's fine to me that unit swarm and deathball are both viable but him saying fielding more units (that are loaded with the op units still I see) is more fun than using the good ass valor skills to slap shit around is subjective

Those are personal delusions that dont have anything to do with gamrplay. If you dont need thwm, its fat to be removed.

To me, since everything has some kind of counter, it's best to keep as many characters up to strength as possible in case one is useful in some niche situation. It worked in my favor on the Gloucester map, because I had to send motherfrickers all over the place.
Yes but it's easy to set up ways around stuff >Fighter with fliers->fliers with initiative now RAPE archer squads >Radiant with Armor->pound mages into dust, only need to watch out for hammer fricks now
if you want to unbench scarlett, take note that she’s the only cleric that can equip conferral tomes. you can give her a lyrical wand for an ap feeding + elemental conferral support role that can also heal and remove debuffs (not as well as actual clerics but still). conferral tomes are most powerful on aoe characters like the elf twins, yunifi, dragoon divers etc. but even a row aoe has good value
Trying the demo out now, I actually kind of like the idea of the combat system. Always felt like traditional jrpgs like persona/chrono trigger/ff had super bland braindead combat where you just followed a flowchart using whatever relevant status effects/heals/elemental damage the situation called for with the game practically playing itself. Making the game literally play itself and shifting the gameplay to designing the flowcharts that dictate your characters feels like it could oddly add a lot more strategy and expression to the game, does it end up actually panning out that way?
Sort of. Basically until the Rescue Scarlett mission, there is zero need to change your tactics. At all. Later on, you can make some incredibly broken combos, but the game isn't really balanced around that.
what exactly is wrong with the translation in this game? i thought people liked translations like this, it's like a less extreme version of WotL (which i liked too)
Nothing. Most examples are from morons with terrible reading comprehension. Preschool level shit. This line for example, which some idiot in a previous thread thought meant Alain "thinks he doesn't deserves the crown"
At first I was worried since some items are mistranslated and I thought it was a big deal, but it turns out this guy was seething over the Ye' Olde English Cutscenes. Not even censorship, just embellishment.
I've seen some of Chloe, which is weird since she's so plain. Also pretty sure Virginia and Elves will get stuff eventually but I'm not looking for any of it.
nice moron post, brainlet >WOW HORSE MAN DOES 20% MORE DAMAGE WITH OTHER HORSE MAN >THIS EFFECTS STACKS >HMMMMMM >BETTER ONLY USE ONE HORSE MAN AHYUK durr hurrr hurrr XD
you have to be a complete idiot to not make very strong units even on accident in this game
No, whoever said that is a moron and you can test it yourself very easy. Notice how it procs against non cav units every time? Notice how their damage skyrockets?
But optimization is FUN. The thing I like about UO, is that lots of things seem to work. I'm sure the list of Good Things(tm) will narrow as I learn more about the game, but right now I'm just enjoying the fact this game's memedons don't outright blow bandit wieners.
I don't understand why it's necessary. I'm not some team building wizard, I haven't fricked with tactics at all, and I've had exactly one game over in all of Cornia/Drakenhold.
Sometimes I just hate when I press the optimize button to quickly change equips of characters (sometimes I withdrawal a unit to change 1-2 characters) and then the tactics suddenly go to default.
Yes yes, tactics loadouts are a thing I know, but a better option would be to LOCK TACTICS.
no, just put a gryphon with wyvern reins in your cav stack, it’ll smash any backrow ranged that isn’t shieldshooters and those get run down by your cav
They can take out one enemy virtually guaranteed with Keen Edge. That's not nothing in a max 5-man squad. I'm worried the damage will fall of later, although it's really for annoying dodgy fliers anyway (who lack strong defenses).
It's probably the way they expect most to play honestly. Would explain the weird balance. From what I can tell tho, some characters like Gilbert and Yunifi are particularly good.
is this game for autists or normal people? I like strategy games but hate optimizing and micro managing. I usually spam the coolest units in rts even if they have disadvantage
the gameplay is mostly in equipping and setting up units, the battles are just you testing and observing what you did. Just like Ogre Battle. If you're even remotely good at vidya though, this game is very very easy even on 'expert'
Nah the game's probably even easier than modern FE. It's a casual game. I refuse to use any male character but the MC and I've been doing fine. Though the game does have a good amount of depth if you want to engage with it's systems. You just don't need to cause the numbers are so imbalanced.
Only played for about 2 hours so these are just early fleeting worries of a normie who's never touched an auto-battler, but I do hope the game will give you more ways to engage with it soon.
I am worried its going to be a rare case of all vanillaware beauty and no substance. I saw online that there is going to be a colliseum mode later on so that's definitely intriguing but like... what do you actually do if the battles are all automated ?
First nip game I ever played - was kinda averse to the anime style, but I must say it's legit good, engaging and fun. Which is pretty rare nowadays.
Chalk up another Hitler was right, honorary Aryans: I kneel.
I put Bruno with 3 women without thinking about it and battles look like some NTR scene now between his jp voice actor and the girls constantly healing him.
Depending on how far you are into the game, go back to Cornia and start doing those delivery quests. You have materials in the hundreds now.
then you can also farm trail fights in less than 15 seconds with fliers, which gives you gold from all the guards.
You did fix all the towns and stationed guards there, right?
I promoted him just to see what he gets and I am not really impressed. This is his best move.
I compare that to Hodrick, who is getting medium protection for an entire row AND 50% def up with a bonus +2 ap AND 50% def up for his row (and thanks to that +2 ap he has the ap to cast all of that if you order it correctly) and it's not really fair. you give him the stacking damage from guarding and he's actually good finally even if it took close to 20 levels.
That's nice, sweetie. Maybe you can promote your brain next and realize Lex makes flyers, arches and mages both unkillable and mobile, the ultimate garrison clearer.
That's nice sweetie, maybe next time you can promote the dick in your ass and realize there's a fricking SHIELD that can do that.
A FRICKING SHIELD>>>> LEX
moron.
>T-THERE'S A SHIELD >... which is either used by a class like lex or a slower version
lmao
Or you can just the unit that makes itself move 50% faster and flies just not fight its direct encounter instead of making your team shitty by using dead weight?
kek what? Can you type that again while not shitting your pants? Illegible motherfricker

it's okay to like dead weight, the game is easy enough after all. His class is the shittiest in the game though, bar none.
Or you can just the unit that makes itself move 50% faster and flies just not fight its direct encounter instead of making your team shitty by using dead weight?
I'm still using him, but I honestly don't know who I'll pair him with.
I know Chloe stays, but that's about it.
Maybe a flier and a bowman, but then again, you get a very jack of all trades team that doesn't really do anything well.
Her gimmick is okay until you realize the elves can replicate it with another caster on their team, including the other one. While also being better units outside that gimmick.
I just rescued Scarlett and the game recommended me to go to either Drakenhold or get some elf pussy.
At this point in the game, what are some foolproof 4-man unit (and maybe 5-man too, since the future isn't so far off) compositions and tactics? I'm playing on Expert but I had some difficulties during the rescue mission.
I went to elf land, got choco elf and did the first mission and somehow won (only hard mission in the game so far) and got arrow mcelf too then went to dragon sand land and overleveled everything sadly
>then went to dragon sand land and overleveled everything sadly
this is kinda worrisome to me too, am i meant to like juggle back and forth between elfland and sandland?
I got the game + day 1 patch after a simple google search >i3-12100F >8gb RAM >4gb VRAM amd graphics card from almost a decade ago
For all intents and purposes, my rig is a "potato" yet can run the game just fine on Yuzu.
It might be interesting messing around with graphics settings tho.
I used mine on alain to minmax him and get rid of the generic marth color scheme. bought another one for berengeria to increase her offense and make her less evil looking and match travis.
>This rose bears thorns
Her dub voice is so fricking cute, unironically. I love when I make her leader and how she says, "Have you need of me?"
I kinda want to give her the ring but dark elf is working some mean succubus tricks on me right now
As a player I tend to experiment with the meta a little bit but will generally always end up focusing on a small selection of favourites, so if I'm playing on 2nd highest difficulty will cutting down the roster and eventually using just a few different squads be viable, or is it better to invest in all 60+ units ?
Well if you're being serious then I'll probably just switch to the highest difficulty cause just looking at the roster there's only like 12 characters I want to play. lol
Frick you guys. Lex is THE best unit in the game. Have range problems? Lex has your back. Need a STRONG and RELIABLE unit? Look no further. Alain wishes he could compete!
Is playing with no generic units viable to make things more challenging and fun, or just taking fun options out early for little return in actual challenge?
I'm doing it because I prefer using the actual characters instead of randos, but it would help to have some generics of classes I don't have or have only one character. But I also fear it would make things too easy.
I never recruited a class before I got its unique version and it was no issue at all.
Early game dumps characters on you.
You'll end up hiring tons of generics later on because you simply don't have enough people to guard all the towns otherwise.
If you do the late cornia missions without generics you'll definitely have a challenging time without a gryphon to counter cavs. but I'm pretty sure the game expects you to recruit fran before the monica and tatiana missions
Generics aren't a win button. And yeah, genericless is shittier in my opinion - taking away a significant part of squad building/customization for what? Game is still what it is at a basic level.
The only generic recruit that gives a pronounced power spike is early Gryph. Early flight + anti-cav + valor skill shits on a few (already easy) maps. But frick waiting on Fran, Gryphs are way too much fun.
The problem is the disproportionate unit distribution.
You get like 4 cavs and 3 warriors but only one witch, shaman, mage and archer. Even only a single gladiator.
You pretty much have to hire if you ever want a duplicate.
KEK LOL FRICK you Black person homosexual Lex is the best *frogposts* don't you DARE talk bad about his arrow blocking or his arrow blocking, and did I mention his arrow blocking he's not MID like Alain okay you CHILD
I hope you rushgays at least bring the relevant story characters into the boss fight to hear the unique dialog.
Like if you didn't bring Bruno and Travis into the Berengaria fight or the elf sisters into every fight in Efland, you're a homosexual.
put a hop with a cleric to cleanse the shitty debuffs that ruin them, and I use mine on my magic squad with a sorceress and warlock, so melee guys like that usually get blown the frick up quickly.
Magic can be a little iffy still if your mages go slower than theirs though
How good is making a unit composed of only dudes on horses?
What about dudes on horses plus 1 gryphon rider to frick other dudes on horses?
Will I get screwed? Also, what's the best growth for horse dudes?
>How good is making a unit composed of only dudes on horses?
very good >What about dudes on horses plus 1 gryphon rider to frick other dudes on horses?
very good as well, but you will be at 4 for a long time, so I prefer a healer. The 5th is 100% a griffon or shield breaker though, maybe even Shaman.
I like Shaman a lot, but I can't justify them in a 4 man squad. In a 5? I 100% will be using 1-2.
Really like the game so far but it’s pretty easy and I haven’t had the need to optimize my units yet. I missed out on some level 5 missions and my units are level 8. I pretty much oneshotted everyone. Will it be the same at later levels? Kinda scared of overlevelling now with Alain’s valor skill
skip liberation missions or only do them with shitty squads that are behind on levels or wait until you are super overleveled for them to come back and crush them in one minute since they are all super small and generic, that way you get almost no exp and the level curve is less fricked
If this game wasn't fricking around you would be able to breed all the girls enough to singlehandedly make up the population loss from all the war dead
Same reason Nips are xenophobic, but constantly worship the west.
Tying being a hafu in Nipland, everyone looks down on you, but secretly everyone envies you because you look better most of the time due to superior western gens.
To be fair, there's a difference between fricking some random human, and fricking Prince Alain, leader of the Liberation, heir of Cornia and chosen of Ring of the Unicorn.
it's not like the uniques are any better than the generics aside from slightly different art and some script lines
keep your generic. hope you gave her a good name and colors
Is there a tactic to make a unit only use their action point at the end of the battle? I'm tired of wasting heals on the first scratch of battle.
I like how there's a sort of yin-yang thing going on with Alain. >Alain was born a prince, Aubin was born a desert kid. >Alain had to leave his home by force, Aubin left his home willingly. >The names Alain and Aubin are two letters away.
It was probably not intentional but I find it fun.
Game's plot got rewrited trice according three times to an interview, they may have started as the blue and red knight before Alain became the main character.
Why is the infinitely more rude than the pleb then. She'd get her shit slapped if she snapped at someone in court, considering she is a shitty refugee brat
>Housecarl is one of the 3 promotions that only cost 25 honor >They get an absurd upgrade with fantastic skills, one of the best valor skills in the game and a shield slot which upgrades their survivability a lot
but why?
I,m surprised Aubin is the only natural housecarl we get too. Could use more spinny lads.
Also, i'm making the desert team ( Aubin,Magellan,Liza,Gloucester) and need a 5th
For now the team absolutely shreds anything that's not heavily armored, but could use a bit morew survibility. I was thinking sandstorm Selvie, for the theme and to make them actually invincible
>Meaning is preserved
>Flavor is added by using flowery English to make up for specific kanji use and spoken quirks
Good tl.
>Some guy not in the dev team inserts their own sense of humor into the writing
>HURRR IT'S WHAT THE DEVS WANTED
No. It's what the troon localizers wanted without any thought to being faithful to the original product as they gain immense joy from "getting away" (Their own words) with inserting their humor into the script.
say the line bart
Meh
You have my attention.
>Peddling left as a "faithful" translation
Learn Japanese idiot, morons like you would miss the true intent of the writers room regardless of what translation you read
Oh wait you are too fat and lazy. Keep posting this garbage
now post that without crying
I just did while fricking your mom
Soulless vs soul
Im 50 hours in currently on my second expert run and from the moment I first met him I knew he was going to be the best and most soulful character in the whole game
Chiming in on the dogpile to say I liked Beaumont, and look forward to where his shenanigans are headed
NNNOOO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THEY MADE IT TOO EXCITING! GLORIOUS NIHONGO IS A VERY DRY LANGUAGE NNNOOO
This is actually good, learn to pick your battles, homosexual.
You made it cry
I always hate when translators do this, why do they think that fantasy needs Shakespeare speech? What's wrong with modern English?
Have the people calling the language in this game "Shakespearian" actually read any Shakespeare?
>this anon and some other mentally ill homosexuals cried endlessly about unmagicked octogenarians
>the game reveals they are actually looking for hag witches, thus the translations makes perfect sense for a pompous character like that
Translation whiners lost
The translation is far better than the original script. Most try to deny this, however.
>The translation is far better than the original script.
post waifus
I finally got 5 lot units and I'm officially dissolving the Lex/Chloe unit because it's frickin useless.
I use Lex as the dancing cheerleader buffbot and let Chloe kill everything.
Bro your lex, Clive, Chloe though? Second best unit for me and always has been
Try two cavs + a gryphon in the Lex/Chloe unit. Lex actually dies pretty well here because he can protect cavs from flying and the Gryphon from arrows. You also benefit from the better mobility and you have decent sustain.
Why are there suddenly multiple pro-incest videogames?
>suddenly
It's the most mainstream taboo fetish. Probably on the same level as rape.
This isn't sudden nor a new thing. Also
, just look at the most searched tags of any porn website. It's popular enough to spawn normalgay memes like that "what are you doing step-bro" shit.
Explain
Sure, you seem to be infected with brainrot which makes you seethe over games you don't play. I would recommend unplugging from the internet, reconnecting with friends, and experiencing nature.
I hope this explanation helped!

I fricking love this game.
It really is.
The best part is teambuilding and setting up tactics.
I've played like 12 hours a day over the past week, so today I took it slow and only played 8.
>I'll be taking that ring now.
Why is Vegeeta afraid of caterpillars?
>She is some generic, wienery strong wimmin brat
Don't see the appeal.
>virginia spammer
have a nice day my man she's dull as frick if you played through drakenhold and did her rapports
Cry about it
This. The other girls are way better. I'd say she's down there with scarlett
Absolutely seething
Unironcially the only thing she has going for her is being your cousin
And that is already enough
Name 1 other game where you can romance and marry a girl who is
>your blood related cousin
>practically your older sister
>looks similiar to your mom
>Gilbert gay seething
Post more lex.
Virginia is the new shit taste girl like Makoto was in P5.
The battlefield has no place for love and frolicking. I'm afraid I'll be adding that ring to the Liberation's coffers and calling the matter settled.
>Miriam only has 2 Rapports with Alain
kusoge
Indeed
beat all of coliseum including the post-amalia teams with trinity rain spam, i'm not sure if there is a stronger setup out there
Imagine choosing the wrong waifu in UO and never seeing content of her, wouldn't you get insanely jealous?
I want to bury my face in cousinpits
why would i care about some shitty girl content in the first place?
Stop reposting the same shit in every thread
I am maybe 3 hours in so far. I'm playing on Tactical because I'm too much of a pussy to try the next difficulty (even though the game wasn't hard so far). I see there's an option to skip battles, but I don't wanna. Battles look cool.
Is there any difference in the outcome of your choices? For example, I put some guy into prison, and his pals came for him. Then later I came across some other guy who begged fpr his life, and I spared him instead of killing him. Will that affect later missions and characters I can recruit?
Yes
What's the sell sword counter? FRICK this mission and Berenice being some absurd HP wall.
Travis
Thank you, Travis was the answer. And also using Magickal and Healing assist. Frick you Berenice.
Sellswords are broken, they counter every attack made against any ally, get to do it again if they hit (+1 PP), and have one of the best attack growths in the game.
Unless they miss lmao
Even if they miss, they have a +1 AP on kill active move and a 150 potency AP attack that does a shit ton of damage. Slap some blue specs on them and let them wreck.
gryphon
just put your attackers in the backrow, their counterattack doesn't work if they can't reach the target lol
I feel like they could've had some more unit diversity in cavalry and flying because this setup is brainless and mows down anything not flying.
5th slot's going to a shaman for initiative control.
>nor do they affect the movement
They do.
Remove the horse and mobility goes form 300 to 260
Unprotected sex with Chloe!
>gives you a child in her ending
canon
>Lex and Scarlett tried to stop Chloe from revealing her birthing hips
Terrible friends really.
Damn hag, trying to corrupt our hometown girls...
she would be too powerful if she unleashed her full potential
Why is Scarlett so desperate to stop her?
she's kind of a b***h
>Get kidnapped.
>The fricking blue prince comes for the rescue.
>He also collects an army of waifus, all wanting to be the princess.
I kind of understand her problem.
So Scarlett is pretty obsessed with being Alain's girl and yet is the designated winner. That's pretty funny.
Tbqh I tend to absolutely disrespect characters that take too long to confess unless it's cases like this where there's an actual external factor that scares them off, then I just feel terrible for them.
tard wife
>Anno Unicorni MMXXIV.
>Still no fanart of Scarlett in a cowkini.
Apply yourself, Japan.
Her drills aren't big enough
Scarlett is a plainCHAD like us except she's a stacy
because she knows that the obscene body Chloe is hiding under her armor mogs her hard
She know that if Alain sees Chloe's birthing hips in the witch outfit doing the sway, then her chances of getting with Alain are DONE.
Chloe's beauty is too strong
her hips are stronger.
FE's writing and balance has always been questionable, but after Fates it went weird places. Is Engage really that bad?
it went to weird places after RD and fricking awakening you homosexualron.
Even a plain by-the-numbers story like UO's is 10000% better because it doesn't rip me out of the game constantly
trad wife ruins everything
Chloe's bastards rising up to take the throne...
I'm getting rekt in expert. Gimme some cheese strats
Runic Sword on Alain, put Sharon and Yahna in the back row
Ice conferral on gryphon cleave
Travis in front of anything
Shamans+gladiators
Dragoon dive acceleration with the quick impetus item from the angel shop.
I wish I was travis
Why is Gammel supposed to be better than Travis?
Not at that part yet, but how badly did Travis frick up for her to decide to disband her entire group
She was trying to infiltrate Zenoira and pushed him away.
Ah that makes sense
why does he call her 'aniki' doesn't that usually mean big brother?
He calls her 'aneki', which is pretty much older sister. Aniki is older brother.
They are siblings so it's fine. I'm putting a ring on that, so only I get to suck them.
Was Travis in the wrong?
Wow, people sure love Virginia a lot, I wonder if there's something else to her other than just an incest kin-
>Only other noteworthy thing she does in the game is get married to someone else if you don't pick her.
>Her only given personality trait is "Obnoxious girlboss who will shittalk everyone in the game, including the MC, no matter if she actually has a reason to".
Aight, what the frick are you gays seeing in her? Are you all literally just from Alabama?
Oh please, do prove me wrong.
He was being an butthole though
He literally just enters and says "Hey boss".
Filthy peasant bandit doesn't know his place.
He should be thankful he wasn't executed
Imagine being so mindbroken by feminism you immediately think about muh girlboss when reading this
Her every single interaction with every single character is her ordering them to do stuff and/or criticizing them, including every other girl in the Liberation. There is no "feminism" about this, she's just simply a b***h.
She has cute scenes with Scarlett and Aramis and she isn't a b***h to them or Gilbert
Gilbert beats her ass in his scenes so has little room.
>Gilbert is stronger than Virginia
Based Gilbert. Actually deserves her.
>Her every single interaction with every single character is her ordering them to do stuff
You do realize some gays do be into that right?
>he trusts the localization the shittalks the character
lmao
What does the jap say?
Soured me off her, because Aubin is a cool dude and earned his keep for a while, eing literally the first guy you recruit outside of your starter squad
Oh quit being a b***h.
Nah, b***h better get in line if she want's to talk trash to one of my main bros. She has to earn her keep, same as everyone else.
He's not your, bro. You barely spoke to him until well within the desert. He at most stood around guardian one of your towns while you talked to literally anyone else.
Been the leader of my 3rd squad since the start, Virginia can suck my dick, until i change my mind
Wow he's about as memorable as a generic.
>Edelgard but not moronic
there, that's the appeal
Can't say I've played that FE to know what Edelgard is about beyond that one dumb "Why do you keep resisting" pic.
>Edelgard
>Daughter of an Emperor
>Nobles throw a coup for power and sell her family to the molemen
>Gets tortured by pale molemen in experiments to give her a Crest
>Crests give people magic powers
>Siblings die to this but Edelgard gets the strongest crest
>Goddess didn't save her after she prayed
>Molemen tell her to destroy the Church
>Edelgard blames the Church for this so agrees
>Tells the MC the Church is run by evil dragons who created the Crest System and that the Goddess isn't real, also they stole land from The Empire a long time ago
>Declares war on entire world and kills innocents with Molemen's help
>Turns out MC is the reincarnation of the goddess
>Evil Molemen and Humans created Crests by killing Dragons
>Dragons spare the humans' descendants
>Also Molemen were the ones who started the successions to weaken The Empire
>Edelgard's whole reason for war is completely ass backwards
Shit like this is why I prefer simple stories.
>Edelgard meanwhile was responsible for her own actions and you get to kill her for it.
You mean join her, and kill the real villain?
Only in the last-minute-development unfinished mini-route that only has one animated cutscene.
That unfinished route is about as canon as rushing to the end of UO.
That sounds... stupid.
just like the entire 3HRT and shitmitris yeah sorry sasuke tier of apology lmao
I'm just shocked more people don't realize that making an entirely evil organization responsible for 99% of every bad event in the setting isn't "deep" or "morally complex" but the most shallow writing imaginable.
I'm playing more SRPGs now, and I gotta say that's still one of the worst stories I've seen.
Iktf.
Love it when I'm reminded who best girl is
>as for the above anon, he could just play on a lower difficulty instead. there's no such option for people who find expert too easy
Reborn is different from let us cling together anon
TO:Reborn was an official remake that changed mechanics. What anon is probably referring to is One Vision, which took the psp version's combat and gameplay and injected more variety and strategy by reworking all of the classes. Would definitely recommend over Reborn
What? Reborn was extremely well received and the only people seething over it were fricking casuals and bads who couldn't grind to stomp encounters anymore and had a cry on Reddit/Steam over how hard it was.
Reborn is extremely good and there is no need to play Redditvision autism 'mods' anymore.
Apologies for the delay, but
has the right of it, One Vision was fully developed by fans, for fans, and they did a great job with it, too.
Levels don't matter if your team comp is bad.
that's why people manage to beat the colosseum way early than intended.
>No liberation missions allowed
Oh so the Ganker challenge mode is to play less of the game. How fitting.
Yes, that's how it works when a chunk of the game is grinding that trivializes the rest of it
Those compositions depend on broken items from the divine shard store like trinity want or the cat ears
the exp is the least of the reasons you casually overpower enemies, the level is still pretty much capped at (whatever level major quest you did last +3) unless you grind a ton of books
>the exp is the least of the reasons you casually overpower enemies
The reason liberations are banned isn't because of exp, it's because of renown
>No divine shard expenditure beyond what is necessary to recruit Ochlys
PP and AP pendant here I come!!
it would be more fun if there was a difficulty that's still challenging while you squeeze out the maximum of items, renown/honor etc.
When I was playing Tactics Ogre Reborn and proposed this run
>no incap / death
>no chariot
>Denam + generic humans only (no monsters, obviously)
>no uniques characters
>no recruit
>no blowgun exploit
>no Phorampa Wildwood and no Pirate's Graveyard
>no training battles
>doing few sidequests (as less as possible)
I was the only one who did it. Nobody else.
This means I will have to "invent" challenge run for Unicorn once I beat it. Ptobably not this month.
+ generic humans only (no monsters, obviously)
>>no uniques characters
>>no recruit
This is just boring.
It has nothing to do with prior knowledge and everything to do with that, modern players are worse than ever at actually learning new systems, they're all on par with streamers for levels of stupid, they can't even read shit on the screen 50% of the time its mental.
>this game has a lot of gear
>this game has a lot of units
>this game has a lot of skills
>and on top of all that, you have the FFXII gambit system to contend with
Frick this, this is too much. You brainiacs can go ahead and enjoy your game, I'm gonna go play cookie clicker or some shit more my speed...
>and on top of all that, you have the FFXII gambit system to contend with
Unironically, FF12 is the most bestest to play if you set only ONE Gambit
>Attack Enemy: Nearest Visible
set the ATB to wait, and use all items and cast all magic manually.
FFXII stan here, ignore every word of this
Literally imagine casting magic manually when the game cheats with gambits and knows magic weaknesses of enemies that are hidden even with Libra
Yeah sure, if you want the game to take you like 200 fricking hours anon
I like Beaumont, funny lad. Keep me posted.
I can't stop overleveling my gryphons. Stop throwing cavalry at me, please
Chloe's life aid 2 is kind of busted
Veggy is just autistic relax
Aight, I'm tired of doing auxiliar maps. How do I maximize my honor gain?
Did I miss out on registering the enemy commander Anton’s unique sprite in the Class Registry if I did not fight him in the mission where you defend the Colosseum city? I ended up accidentally beating the mission by routing too many enemy units while trying to capture all the enemy encampments.
Post your C teams
Wtf are you me? I use Travis, berengaria, and melissandre on the same team also
Here's all the units
>Alain in the back row.
Alain leads FROM THE FRONT.
Hodrick would never let him.
Mine prefers to stand behind Ochlys.
Berengaria+Travis can solo almost everything.
But it's also stupid putting a sellsword with a thief, considering the thief is not getting hit.
Now this is my "someone needs to man the catapults, so i might as well use the unique units" team
>"someone needs to man the catapults, so i might as well use the unique units" team
Man does that happen a lot in Drakenhold and Elfland.
Everyone that isn't Alain or flying. I've been trying to keep everyone mostly even, and it seems like I just made everyone kinda suck.
>it's another "shaman debuffs your damage dealers" fight
I love these fights because I can pull out my meme ignite team.
I'm going to put in a wyvern with fire breath in there and maybe take out one mage for something more defensive
I call this team the "AI Have no Mouth and I Must Scream."
The AI flails in its perpetual blindness as death is delivered from the sky. Ochlys is there, not to do damage (lord know she doesn't), but to look cute.
More details
Post recolors
I'm esporting my shit and giving the ring to the choccy elf to help with her split scaling.
Marrying her is just a side objective. Now get on your knees and do another Double Elemental Roar, you darkie bawd.
and the shitshow already started
What's the benefit of killing/rejecting any of the potential recruits?
If you reject, you get stuff. Items and whatnot.
What are the broken builds you can do? Shaman duststorm is fricked, frost conferral apes are fricked, any others?
Any charged ability + cat ears
It's easy enough to do broken shit once you know that initiative is the king in almost all fights
unless you encounter that specific comp/unit that shits on your unit (it will most likely concern bishops/druids/covering tanks/flyers)
No builds are unbeatable.
ex: a single angel guy can kill an instant Trinity Rain comp by reflecting your shit right back at you
is there a physical counter like the angel guy though
because you can just do trinity rain strat but with a physical aoe attack that is infused by freeze or something else
you can just use a rogue and sneaking edge him
https://streamable.com/04cyzt
>Shaman duststorm is fricked
Only until units start getting 2 ap and then not so much, because at that point a rogue can apply blind to a single row as well.
shaman duststorm seems fun until you get a bunch of enemy clerics and elven archers and saintly knights removing your debuffs
Don't care, banged my cousinwife in front of hag and Melisandre.
Can you actually ride a unicorn at any time
Only virgin women can ride unicorns
But Alain can marry non-virings.
You are the unicorn
Just promote Alain
>when do you get alcina as a unit? did she die at the thorn tower in elfheim? I thought she passed out
>1/5th of the game
>Josef is still my most useful unit
You guys lied to me, he's not a Jagen
>get carried by an old man
>still my most useful unit
but that's what a jagen do
>1/5th
So you haven't done Drakenhold yet? Because he plummets off a cliff once you start promoting people.
Anything I should know before starting the game? Tactics Ogre had all sorts of unintuitive conditions to unlock characters like doing fights in a certain order, bringing certain characters in a battle, or leaving certain characters alive during battles, is there anything like that where I'd want to follow a guide to not lock myself out of content?
no, just always take the merciful route and you'll get full recruitment
Does any non-generic actually want their growth rates changed with the mirror?
Scarlett and Selvie
Chnaged to what
Is Selvie/Shamans actually worth using? Ngl the fact they don't deal any damage kind of worries me, maybe they'd be good to defend bases but it seems they're too geared towards stalling without killing and that just makes me think you'd lose all your stamina doing stupid useless attacks that don't actually hurt.
I used them until about level 15 and I DO think they're good, but they belong in a different game where there is no time limit and defending is a tactic.
As it is, I want more blow up power, not memes.
>I want more blow up power
Offensive curse can literally make a world of difference
If your units aren't blowing people up without it you already failed, meaning I want another blow up character or hard aoe
Looks like you haven't been very far into the game to see how fricking annoying block is and how much of a godsend block seal is for your damage dealers.
Nina = god
>click mage team
>click armored unit
>no more armored unit
>click MC team which is a split
>click armored unit
>no more armored unit
>click griffon team
>click armored unit
>no more armored unit thanks to witch and aoe
I dunno, level 34 and armor hasn't been a problem yet.
>inb4 UH THE LAST LEVELS WILL HAVE STRONG ARMOR YOU'LL SEE
>Armor
I said block, not armor.
Many enemies can block, not just armor.
yeah they've had big success blocking spells so far pal kek
The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world Shamans are for stalling.
You switch curses based on circumstances. An example is Defensive Curse melting any tank-stacking comps if it isn't cleansed.
You can wreck combos by stealing PP right under their noses with another curse.
>tedious switching every fight
>don't mention to him how often clerics with cleanse start showing up
you do you lmao
It's just a press of a button anon, and plenty of fights don't have clerics. And even then you can still do cleric fights
This meme Doom Knight with res staff and two Power Belts uni is shitting on most things for example
And yes, a single Hunter can take care of all flyers. When Rolf here got Aerial Snipe he became a god
post your dark knight setup please, I had trouble making them work
they are deceptively powerful, they can pretty much trivialize any encounter
burst heavy unit?
just debuff them, they die pitifully dealing no damage
tank heavy unit?
just frick their defenses, remove their chance to even guard
enemy with passive skills like deflect/parry/self-heals that are a pain in the ass to deal with if you don't have specialized counters?
just drain their PP
just want to blind the entire enemy team?
frick you, here is a party-wide blind
I have the demo of this downloaded, but I'm wrapping up another game before getting into it.
Sell me on marrying the cousin.
>Sell me on marrying the cousin.
She's your cousin.
She was Alain's childhood big-sis style companion and was probably going to be betrothed to him had Cornia not fallen, she spent her days in Drakenhold daydreaming of reviving the kingdom even though she knew that her cousin and aunt were likely dead
She's a gap moe character where she is simultaneously regal but has a cute side to her like being afraid of bugs or being extremely gullible
>and was probably going to be betrothed to him had Cornia not fallen
M-mommy's idea?
What if I marry her knight instead?
Which one
Leah
that's just her drakenhold assigned attendant
Isn't she loyal to Virginia?
Her rapport convos indicate she is a drakensimp because of loyalty to giblet's dad
Wtf so wait does Virginia trust her?
yes but not as much as the rose knights
i mean her rapports with virginia shows that she's pretty devoted to the princess too
Tasty thighs
How tall is Alain? Virginia?
6'11 and 6'12
she has a big two hander and can protect you. its a trope that caters to the majority of japans incel populace though I dont think west incels are that different when it comes to degenerate fetishes
kys 3HRT gay
Engage was a flop and had all the rainbow characters in it lmao
and yet you simp for a b***h who has mommy issues also I don't care about engayge you moronic queer.
actually, I put the ring on the hag LOL
fight with shadows more you delusional cuck moron
Engage was the one with the protagonist who transitioned from Fell Dragon to Divine Dragon through decades of hormone therapy.
At least get your insults right.
>anon thinks I care about gaylear
el ol ellllll
Just give every enemy AP and PP pendant
My flying team is a Gryp Lord, A Wyvern Lord, a Radiant Knight, and a witch for ice memes. I feel like this unit is on the weaker end of all my units. Any way I can spice it up/make it better?
>make every imaginable broken team in the whole game
Uuuuuh why this game easy bros?
I can almost guarantee they just beeline straight to the boss every time.
>just don't use tactics or any good synergy and just make teams of nothing but speargays and Lex and the game is hard!
lmao frogtards
Whose pants are these? I swear I know them.
NTA
Looks like they're from Gorlock the Destroyer.
>Get to Drakenhold
>Most of the units BTFO knight units
Maybe I can finally get an actual challenge
Use Lex
Are all the people screaming how the game is so easy just still in Cornia? I still wouldn't call it super hard, but the difficulty seems to keep increasing throughout the game, especially compared to Cornia which is basically the tutorial zone
I just finished Albion, I'm not screaming about it though just observing that it it's pretty easy
On most maps, you can easily just drive a unit forward and kill, spamming revitalize to keep them going with the valor they get from murdering things, along with seizing towns.
yeah, thanks for agreeing with me that the game is not well designed
to be fair most of the liberation maps kind of encourage that exact approach, the main quests usually have some stuff going on at multiple fronts or talk conversations etc. so there's at least an incentive to not just bumrush the boss if you want to get everything
>they would just abuse teleport staffs and say it's easy to cheese the game.
So...isn't it?
Same issue as always. morons will look up all the video guides, minmax their shit, use the cheesiest strategies and then whine the game is too easy because they didn't railroad the player into a riding, boring but difficult experience.
so what's your excuse for other games where people do that but the game is still harder than this one, like basically every other SRPG out there except for Valkyria Chronicles which is also as easy as this game?
does it matter? none of these games are challenging.
What kind of moronic question is that?
>leave Cornia
>Tutorial: Deserts
>Tutorial: Visibility
>"Hey by the way this stage has branching paths."
>"And flier spam."
It was like a whole new game.
Is there a quick option to tell which units are inactive instead of me searching the entire map on every single unit? I feel like 25% of my battle gameplay is just that.
Down on the dpad
You're a life saver anon
Is there a second unit you can recruit in the first fight in Elfland? The new elf guy had someone he could talk to, but I accidentally cleared the stage without letting him do it by beating the lower fort.
Anyone got the dialogue of when you marry any of the anthro women?
The only thing I care about in this game.
Because you make thematic parties instead of just stacking the most OP units in a single one?
>cries about stacks
>uses the cav stack
oh i am laffin
>dies to fliers
Yes. it's perfectly fair.
no they don't, and even if they did (they don't if you use a real cleric and not a horse cleric because hurr durr dey on a horse xD) having a unit avoid it's direct counter is NOT a demerit because you should be doing that on everyone anyways.
They do. And even if you they don't, you don't kill anything in return.
>(they don't if you use a real cleric and not a horse cleric because hurr durr dey on a horse xD
This is exactly what i'm talking about. Thanks for proving me right
Those are personal delusions that dont have anything to do with gamrplay. If you dont need thwm, its fat to be removed.
it's fine to me that unit swarm and deathball are both viable but him saying fielding more units (that are loaded with the op units still I see) is more fun than using the good ass valor skills to slap shit around is subjective
>delusions
You sound very upset upset, buddy.
To me, since everything has some kind of counter, it's best to keep as many characters up to strength as possible in case one is useful in some niche situation. It worked in my favor on the Gloucester map, because I had to send motherfrickers all over the place.
Yes but it's easy to set up ways around stuff
>Fighter with fliers->fliers with initiative now RAPE archer squads
>Radiant with Armor->pound mages into dust, only need to watch out for hammer fricks now
if you want to unbench scarlett, take note that she’s the only cleric that can equip conferral tomes. you can give her a lyrical wand for an ap feeding + elemental conferral support role that can also heal and remove debuffs (not as well as actual clerics but still). conferral tomes are most powerful on aoe characters like the elf twins, yunifi, dragoon divers etc. but even a row aoe has good value
We Advance Wars now
Does Sorcerous Connection only last for one attack?
Go back to your shithole you moronic FE troons

Terrible english troonylation
what exactly is wrong with the translation in this game? i thought people liked translations like this, it's like a less extreme version of WotL (which i liked too)
Nothing. Most examples are from morons with terrible reading comprehension. Preschool level shit. This line for example, which some idiot in a previous thread thought meant Alain "thinks he doesn't deserves the crown"
It's literally one guy. He got so bad during the demo that he mysteriously vanished for three days.
At first I was worried since some items are mistranslated and I thought it was a big deal, but it turns out this guy was seething over the Ye' Olde English Cutscenes. Not even censorship, just embellishment.
It was obvious from day minus 7 or something.
Yeah but I didn't see the conversations, just heard there was controversy. Once I saw the pictures I knew it was nothing.
>Scarlett, Yahna, the furries
If your favorite character isn't one of these, you are are basically living in fanart poverty.
I've seen some of Chloe, which is weird since she's so plain. Also pretty sure Virginia and Elves will get stuff eventually but I'm not looking for any of it.
Must be tough, being autistic and having your diseased brain force you to play in the most optimal way instead of having fun.
nice moron post, brainlet
>WOW HORSE MAN DOES 20% MORE DAMAGE WITH OTHER HORSE MAN
>THIS EFFECTS STACKS
>HMMMMMM
>BETTER ONLY USE ONE HORSE MAN AHYUK durr hurrr hurrr XD
you have to be a complete idiot to not make very strong units even on accident in this game
>DURRR NOW I'MMA USE THIS HORSE TO RUSH THE BOSS, PUTTING ALL MY MONEY INTO CONSUMABLES THAT LET ME SKIP GAMEPLAY ELEMENTS
>WOW HORSE MAN DOES 20% MORE DAMAGE WITH OTHER HORSE MAN
Apparently that's a mistranslation bug and it only does more damage to other horse units.
No, whoever said that is a moron and you can test it yourself very easy. Notice how it procs against non cav units every time? Notice how their damage skyrockets?
you’re confusing the skill on the general’s pike weapon with knight’s own passive skill
If you actually watch some of the fights you'll realize how moronic your units act and you have to fix their shitty behavior.
Yeah, I should really start doing that at some point. I've been skipping almost every fight since the demo.
Who's the one willing to give me nursing handjobs? Thats who i am marrying
This thread is full of disgusting subhumans.
I am a cousinfricker.
i wish this was me irl my cousin is so fricking hot. i self insert into alain when playing this
Glad you're here to be one of us, then!
Canadians?
Is it worth making teams like Calvary only/flying only/archers or should it be more mix/match.
Also is the only way to get more pp through items or do some get it by promoting/level ups?
Have Lex on a Cav or Flying only team. He'll save them from range.
no, just put a gryphon with wyvern reins in your cav stack, it’ll smash any backrow ranged that isn’t shieldshooters and those get run down by your cav
Is using two Swordmasters on the same team problematic?
even using one is problematic since they have no aoe
They can take out one enemy virtually guaranteed with Keen Edge. That's not nothing in a max 5-man squad. I'm worried the damage will fall of later, although it's really for annoying dodgy fliers anyway (who lack strong defenses).
>You can become Galerius
based
>Melisandre
>Virginia
>Berengaria
>Scarlett
>the elves
why can't I have all of them
>it's a dumbfrick green unit needs to survive episode
why do ALL SRPG have moronic units that you need to save and they all are green colored as the neutral faction?
Is there a youtube voiced bid explaining how to play this like Im 5?
Yes im moron moving on. Reading too much right now is not working for me fricking elden ring was enough reading
Is using uniques exclusively weird? Using mercs seems kinda soulless.
It's probably the way they expect most to play honestly. Would explain the weird balance. From what I can tell tho, some characters like Gilbert and Yunifi are particularly good.
just make up headcanons for your mercs
There's 60+ recruitable characters. I'm pretty sure they expect you to use mostly uniques.
Is Primm a cute character in her rapports?
Yes.
Mogged by Sharon.
Is there any reason to put anything but a single tank in the front row? Before you get 5 man teams at least.
Yeah, if you want to split damage between your frontline or enable swordfighters
Not really, i used single tanks until 5 man squads and never had problems
I made Chloe cuck Scarlett
>shows up
>fricks shit up
>leaves without saying anything
I heard around that the Great Knight class sucks dick but so far I've been using him and it just seems like a normal Knight with a fancier model?
It's the promotion.
I love how he wasn't fooling anyone
>total badass when he's not in your team
>normal horse once he joins
I like how the T is silent in both his anagram names.
KEEP ROLLIN' ROLLIN' ROLLIN' ROLLIN'
KEEP ROLLIN' ROLLIN' ROLLIN' ROLLIN'
She might replace Aubin in my Alain squad. Saves me from using nuts all the time.
Alain should have a gun.
is this game for autists or normal people? I like strategy games but hate optimizing and micro managing. I usually spam the coolest units in rts even if they have disadvantage
its not for you then
the gameplay is mostly in equipping and setting up units, the battles are just you testing and observing what you did.
You can play on normal mode and not have an issue playing whoever you want however you want
You'll be fine except in a couple spots. There is optimizing but most of the time you can play with your faves and just frick around
It's definitely a "play who you want" game since the items are very powerful, and every class has at least something they're good at.
Difficulty can be adjusted at any time. Try it on expert, turn it down if it's too hard.
I unlocked the merchant who sells mirrors that let you change color
What's a good way to farm money to buy those?
homie how did you run out of money
They cost 30,000 a piece
will they add dragons crown characters as dlc? marrying sorceress is my dream and if this game lets me then so be it
I doubt it. Would be fun though.
>Sorceress witch.
>Fighter hoplite.

>Elf archer.
>Wizard mage.

Gaze upon the face of your demise
Josef is canonically the strongest character going by the bad ending.
Hodrick was level 41 during the prologue. This means Josef must have been like level 60.
*crits you to death before you saw her*
how do I promote units? do I need higher rank
B rank
I read that some characters have unique classes and generics can't get them. I assume Alain is one of them but who else?
Off the top of my head and up to the point I'm at:
>Alain
>Josef
>Scarlett
>Berengaria
>Virginia
Alain
Josef
Scarlett
Berengaria
Virginia
Gilbert
Yunifi
Morard
Nigel
First nip game I ever played - was kinda averse to the anime style, but I must say it's legit good, engaging and fun. Which is pretty rare nowadays.
Chalk up another Hitler was right, honorary Aryans: I kneel.
I put Bruno with 3 women without thinking about it and battles look like some NTR scene now between his jp voice actor and the girls constantly healing him.
how do I make some motherfrickin money? is it just doing the ghost battles and plundering or is there a better way?
fixing towns and golden egg on main kill team
Depending on how far you are into the game, go back to Cornia and start doing those delivery quests. You have materials in the hundreds now.
then you can also farm trail fights in less than 15 seconds with fliers, which gives you gold from all the guards.
You did fix all the towns and stationed guards there, right?
Drakenhold is a lot less fun than Cornia. I'm already sick of deserts and wyvern riders making a beeline for my command post
Do you people not just leave a unit defending? It's free exp.
I try to keep every base I take garrisoned. Reinforcements are annoying.
Yeah, shit got real old.
I should probably make a dedicated anti-flier team. Recommend comp?
Lex and Selvie
>This is actually good, learn to pick your battles, homosexual.
No it's actually
>it isn't broken, I just don't feel like I need to use anything else
How do you beat them?
Nina wide swing
Red sun over Cornia
Use a meteor
I can't decide between Selvie and Fran
A FRICKING SHIELD>>>> LEX
moron.
>T-THERE'S A SHIELD

Radiant Knight with a shield>Lex
it's okay to like dead weight, the game is easy enough after all.
Try Josef, Ranault, and Celeste.
Flying units are a no brainer.
>Furryland
>No good units
>Pointless filler
Why is this section even in the game?
Yunifi.
I thought I was overleveled for Elfland, but there's new units and reinforcement spam and shit that makes it feel like your levels barely matter.
Pop your head into elf land, you get a caster for free. Then go do dragon land.
this thread reeks of reddit and discord

what's his tax policy?
Probably none considering the state he leaves all his towns.
Regarding promotion, should I promote as soon as I'm able or learned all the class abilities?
as soon as possible
can a poorgay get a rom link? also i'd like to know if anyone emulating it is doing it on a potato rig
I got the game + day 1 patch after a simple google search
>i3-12100F
>8gb RAM
>4gb VRAM amd graphics card from almost a decade ago
For all intents and purposes, my rig is a "potato" yet can run the game just fine on Yuzu.
It might be interesting messing around with graphics settings tho.
>you cuck not-Ramza by marrying Virginia
brutal
You cuck Aramis. He cucks Aramis in most cases.
Now that the JP version is out, can someone post the Virginia epilogues to see if she really marries Gilbert.
she actually becomes your concubine in the original
I feel that the game really needs some balance patches to make certain classes better, else Lex will remain benched forever.
https://streamable.com/rszkxy
hi can you please wait for me to do my 20 turn setup
Is this a multiplayer battle?
nah it's one of the lv 40+ coliseum teams, i think number 27
by the way elemental roar doesn't count as a spell so it bypasses reflect magick lol
did you guys use your handmirror yet? and if so, on who?
I used mine on alain to minmax him and get rid of the generic marth color scheme. bought another one for berengeria to increase her offense and make her less evil looking and match travis.

Odin Sphere remake

Is this the first jap non h non vn cousin fricker game after FE?
So why are all these "waaaah game too easy" gays not playing online in the colosseum?
Trips of power.
Because emulator gays have no online.
As a player I tend to experiment with the meta a little bit but will generally always end up focusing on a small selection of favourites, so if I'm playing on 2nd highest difficulty will cutting down the roster and eventually using just a few different squads be viable, or is it better to invest in all 60+ units ?
if you're playing on the 2nd highest difficulty you can make a unit of one guy and probably win
Not like expert is any better
yeah but then you have to use a whole unit
Well if you're being serious then I'll probably just switch to the highest difficulty cause just looking at the roster there's only like 12 characters I want to play. lol
WHAT THE FRICK THIS IS BULLSHIT FRICK YOU homosexual PLAGUE HUFFING WIZARD
she comes back after you beat the following main quest
Frick you guys. Lex is THE best unit in the game. Have range problems? Lex has your back. Need a STRONG and RELIABLE unit? Look no further. Alain wishes he could compete!
Frick off Lex, Chloe asked me to tell you to stop trying to grab her ass, too.
Alright, I concede. Lex is the best unit in the game.
Not stopping Alain from having lovey-dovey leglocking sex with his cousin, though.
i'm sorry lex if it's any consolation, i have no interest in chloe so you can have that win at least
Lex lost the first battle and took an injury the whole game. Alain was barely equal to him in duels before. That is Lex at 50% power.
>kill enemy garrison on the side
>get a fricking mirror
rushgays would never
I have like 6 mirrors and I don't ever a reason to use one.
Yes, including the ones from the garrisons
Coliseum mission was fun because of that, turtle too much, you miss two mirrors
This game is a bichad paradise.
Aramis' victory pose is making me feel very bisexual things.
All characters are the same except the unique classes.
I know, I just mean that by not recruiting generics, especially early game where I'm still at, I have less of useful classes.
I used a generic once and then benched him and never used one again. I'm doing ok
I'll be honest, I largely avoid generics because I have a hard enough time keeping track of the naked characters
Gryphs were exactly what I was thinking about when pondering whether to start using generics.
The problem is the disproportionate unit distribution.
You get like 4 cavs and 3 warriors but only one witch, shaman, mage and archer. Even only a single gladiator.
You pretty much have to hire if you ever want a duplicate.
need a frotting partner? lex is your "man"
KEK LOL FRICK you Black person homosexual Lex is the best *frogposts* don't you DARE talk bad about his arrow blocking or his arrow blocking, and did I mention his arrow blocking he's not MID like Alain okay you CHILD
I hope you rushgays at least bring the relevant story characters into the boss fight to hear the unique dialog.
Like if you didn't bring Bruno and Travis into the Berengaria fight or the elf sisters into every fight in Efland, you're a homosexual.
Frick I didn't bring Aubin around Draken
Hodrickbros, we won.
wow! this will surely make him invincible until the warrior shows up!
>Laughs in Bishop
good luck warrior gay
Hard to cure a corpse
Yeah, sucks for the warrior, true. Him getting his seal cured instantly and getting out healed by quick heal was embarrassing enough I would die too.
You seem to be confused.
Was the hammer blow so hard it not only one shot your shitty shield guy but also send shockwaves to your brain?
>waste your defensive PP to not to damage
I gave it to Alain
Tiny baby damage
It looks cool though.
PP is more valuable than AP for hops
eh hops can turn 1 ap into 2 pp so this is more like an infinite pp glitch for them
they're still shit since they have no offensive presence and they all die to a passing warrior regardless of all their funny buffs
You know what gives me plus 1 PP?
MY MOM
Cant tell if a blonde man or blue haired man typed this post.
put a hop with a cleric to cleanse the shitty debuffs that ruin them, and I use mine on my magic squad with a sorceress and warlock, so melee guys like that usually get blown the frick up quickly.
Magic can be a little iffy still if your mages go slower than theirs though
magic shouldn't be so bad on hops
Your Hodrick technology is outdated and outdone
How good is making a unit composed of only dudes on horses?
What about dudes on horses plus 1 gryphon rider to frick other dudes on horses?
Will I get screwed? Also, what's the best growth for horse dudes?
>How good is making a unit composed of only dudes on horses?
very good
>What about dudes on horses plus 1 gryphon rider to frick other dudes on horses?
very good as well, but you will be at 4 for a long time, so I prefer a healer. The 5th is 100% a griffon or shield breaker though, maybe even Shaman.
I like Shaman a lot, but I can't justify them in a 4 man squad. In a 5? I 100% will be using 1-2.
I will emulate because of the localization and gay shit
Really like the game so far but it’s pretty easy and I haven’t had the need to optimize my units yet. I missed out on some level 5 missions and my units are level 8. I pretty much oneshotted everyone. Will it be the same at later levels? Kinda scared of overlevelling now with Alain’s valor skill
skip liberation missions or only do them with shitty squads that are behind on levels or wait until you are super overleveled for them to come back and crush them in one minute since they are all super small and generic, that way you get almost no exp and the level curve is less fricked
If this game wasn't fricking around you would be able to breed all the girls enough to singlehandedly make up the population loss from all the war dead
>half-elves are frowned upon
>yet literally every elf wants to frick a human and vice versa
Why.
Frowned upon by male elf chuddies
Same reason Nips are xenophobic, but constantly worship the west.
Tying being a hafu in Nipland, everyone looks down on you, but secretly everyone envies you because you look better most of the time due to superior western gens.
elves are prostitutes and don't take responsibility
The elf sisters are a package deal btw. They want threesomes with Alain.
Sisters. Sisters. There have never been such devoted sisters.
How are they sisters when one is a dark elf and the other one is not?
Rude
No really, how does that work.
To be fair, there's a difference between fricking some random human, and fricking Prince Alain, leader of the Liberation, heir of Cornia and chosen of Ring of the Unicorn.
Yeah but even the elf fencer who joins you has a thing going with the human woman from town. Sick humanphiles, all of em
Based Travis just carried me hard against that surprise Galerius fight
>Gryphon Knight generic is destroying everyone
>Finally get Fran
Is it time to retire my generic one?
>retire
gryphs are so useful that i hired 3 more even after getting fran and celeste
it's not like the uniques are any better than the generics aside from slightly different art and some script lines
keep your generic. hope you gave her a good name and colors
thread is dying bros
Aubin is great and I'm tired of pretending he's not.
It was probably not intentional but I find it fun.
just set it to second or third action or failing that, 1 or fewer enemies
Game's plot got rewrited trice according three times to an interview, they may have started as the blue and red knight before Alain became the main character.
Is it possible to recruit Norbelle?
Is there any reason not to make any mounted guy the leader.
That mobility too damn good
Thieves are practically just as good but with an extra stamina and can cut through forests
Virginia is a noble you tards and wasnt raised among commoners like Alain
Why is the infinitely more rude than the pleb then. She'd get her shit slapped if she snapped at someone in court, considering she is a shitty refugee brat
She's like in her late 20s.
a shit noble, at least gilbert and ludwig are proper characters
But, anon. She was slightly kind of snooty to someone I barely talked to!
>6 hours in
When do I meet the brown elves and the dog woman?
I need them
About 5 more hours.
>Housecarl is one of the 3 promotions that only cost 25 honor
>They get an absurd upgrade with fantastic skills, one of the best valor skills in the game and a shield slot which upgrades their survivability a lot
but why?
Superior housecarl wiener
I,m surprised Aubin is the only natural housecarl we get too. Could use more spinny lads.
Also, i'm making the desert team ( Aubin,Magellan,Liza,Gloucester) and need a 5th
For now the team absolutely shreds anything that's not heavily armored, but could use a bit morew survibility. I was thinking sandstorm Selvie, for the theme and to make them actually invincible
Virginia has the best kind of autism, she reminds me of Maud Pie
Virginia is just the autistic warrior princess archetype, how do people not get it
I get it.
I just don't like it.
I love how asshurt some people are about her already.
I like Melisandre archetype, but I'm too busy playing the game to shitpost about it
Virginiagays are autistic
I'm starting to think Aubin gays are the autistic ones they are based on how they react to some mild rudeness.
Woah, he's just like me
>One or a hundred
Oh god I just got Dawn of War flashbacks.
>wieners as his heraldry
subtle
It's not fair you can't recruit this gigachad
All the girls in this game are so rapeable. Except maybe the actual hags
my thread now
