Pac-Man 256 was designed for both being a paid console game and mobile. That's probably why it's the best one. But does anyone remember Pac-Man Dash? Pac-Man Geo? Pac-Man Friends?
Nah, the game sucked unless you grinded and got everything: which in itself was a chore and a half. It was only good as a timewaster, and that's IF you had everything unlocked. Trying to 100% everything in it is agonizing. Doesn't help they tied literal achievements to it in Museum +.

i was thinking the same way till accidently pressed the jump button twice to get the new glide feature to keep Pac longer in the air. my brain has that double-jump feeling hard wired into it and the devs probably knew that. it's there to help you realign
Another very minor peeve is how the doors open fully now, you could just bounce on the top part to get to the second level without having to use them.

no, i phrased that a little bit weird. it's square on playstation. Pac can stay a little bit longer in the air if you press square mid-air. people are more used to double jumps and rayman-like helicopter features, their brain probably tells them to press jump twice instead of using another button to hover longer in the air. that's probably why they lock you out of the bounce in the first few frames of jumping. but that's just a guess from my part

Regarding the bounce I don't really know, looks like after you bounce a couple times and Pac Man goes into that rotating animation the bounce cooldown just vanishes. Idk if the webm shows it fully.

yup, i noticed that too. At that point you probably willingly bounced so it's enabled again. But that further proves my theory though. So instant bouncing is not entirely removed or glitched out of the system. Someone willingly put it on the first jump
