Its one of the least overdesigned megas out there, alogside Mega Sableye and Mega Audino what are you even about.
and that's the sense of megas. it's just banette overflowing outside the plushie.

I guess. but I still think it could work as a normal evo maybe with a couple small tweaks. it's more differentiated than a lot of "just gets bigger" evos, still does something new and introduces new colors and a new silhouette, without going over the top and being unrecognizable. I think it's pretty much what an evolution SHOULD be. maybe just change the face a little bit.
I've never used it but I don't think it's unlovable, there are a lot of autistic hoennigs you know, also I think it has the strongest shadow ball in gen 3
I got one in ORAS because it gets Frisk and Thief, so I could use it to steal Lucky Eggs off wild Pelippers. Ended up liking it and its mega. I needed a decent ghost type.
Unironically one of my favorite pokemon, and if you discount waifu pokemon (gardevoir, braixen, delphox, glaceon, meowscarada, absol, primarina) actually my favorite.
Focus Sash turn 1 Trick Room, turn 2 Destiny Bond to easy rek some legendary / metaball spammer.

apparently the fire elemental monkey had zero vote when poll was done by game freak.
I like objectmons, like to pretend the pokemon themselves inspired the objects in the pokemon world. Ice cream cones in the pokemon world were inspired by the Vanillite line.
I used it in oras, it is pretty decent now that it has access to good moves and the mega was neat.

Im noticing how, insanely enough, Gamefreak already made a pokemon for pretty much everything. This one could fit in a coraline movie flawlessly
