It's not confirmed at all. The Rome 1 Remaster tanked and was generally poorly-received so I don't know why people are so sure they're going to make another one.

Well it was an overpriced mobile port with a horrible UI.But having Med2 with less modding restrictions would be nice.

>Well it was an overpriced mobile port with a horrible UI.
Which is what a Med 2 Remaster would be. >But having Med2 with less modding restrictions would be nice.
Very very few people actually care about this and CA knows it. They just saw how most people hated the Remaster and made videos and reviews about how the original was "perfectly fine" and that a remaster was unnecessary and ruined everything. CA isn't the type of company to make labour of love games, they are purely in it for profit, and they are very unlikely to see a Med 2 remaster as profitable.

>they are purely in it for profit,
if thats true, then a remaster would definitely be on the cards again. it sold pretty decently, 19k peak and its not like it had mixed reviews, it held mostly favorable reviews with perception changing over time for the better. plus considering how cheap they hired feral, its probably very economical to have them sell a port.

Considering Rome 1's standing in the TW community as a legendary title, it should have sold exceptionally well. For what it was, it flopped. >it held mostly favorable reviews with perception changing over time for the better
It has average reviews despite being based on arguably the most beloved entry in the series. The perception hasn't changed at all really, if anything it's just been quickly forgotten.

well idk the numbers for 19k peak but that IS very well. especially for an AA studio like CA. i wouldnt call them AAA. indie titles can barely crack over 10k peak players so thats very little sells. and rome 1 was not the legendary title, that belongs to med 2. >The perception hasn't changed at all really,
yes it has. if you want to base public opinion on youtubers, some who have hated it in the beginning in have changed their mind about it. and if you want to base it on public look, the recent reviews have been very positive on the steam page.
feral has shown they listened to some of the criticism of the remaster and fixed some complaints about the UI as best they could with the limited time they had to work on it. if feral reveal med 2 remaster, that would blow up bigly, more than rome. if they make a big deal that they would leave the UI alone or leave it as an option they would probably outsell rome 2.

kek, absolutely not
zoomers know it because of muh mods, but on release it was considered a disappointment compared to rome 1, it was quite buggy and the battles were a slogfest

>zoomers know it because of muh mods,
yes muh mods. and muh expansion pack that added great content, moreso than any expansion pack of rome 1. thats a key reason why med 2 is vastly more popular than rome 1, its modding community. everything from big overhauls to small vanilla changes.

yes. you cant discount mods for a series known for its modding community and a lack of ez modding for the later titles being a sore point for us older fans. thats stupid. and despite the modding being so shit in the new titles, you still have people dedicated to doing crazy things, like those attila modders trying to make functioning campaign map modding so they can make their lotr mod work.

I'm not basing it on youtubers, but no they really haven't. The ones who found it disappointing haven't changed their tune. The ones who hyped up muh modding potential are the ones still trying to drum up interest in it. Pic related are the actual current numbers of in-game players for each as of the time I'm writing this post. The recent reviews haven't made a dent in its thoroughly mediocre all-time score.

>Well it was an overpriced mobile port
People keep saying this, and I sort of wish it was literally true. I prefer the Rome 1 aesthetic to the remaster aesthetic, and wish the remaster had a "classic graphics" toggle. The mobile version of Rome 1 just had the classic graphics.

The remaster was based on the mobile version.

Based on, but not a straight port. Otherwise it would have the classic look to the buildings and units and terrain and campaign map etc. One of the more confusing claims about the Remaster is that the campaign map is from the mobile version, that's not true at all, the mobile version had the same campaign map as the original PC version. For the most part what I like about the Remaster is that it runs better on modern hardware and has much better modding potential. I don't like the new graphics compared to the old art style and there's no way to revert it all back.
Gameplay is great, visually it looks awesome (I can't go back to playing Byzantium or Russia in vanilla when SS exists), but damn if it doesn't crash all the time. Never had to worry about this many crashes in vanilla/kingdoms MIITW.
I have been playing the cyka blyat version of it as the byzantine empire in the late campaign after seeing it mentioned here ages ago.
Had to restart many time to not get rekt by the very hard mode difficulty with advanced AI toggled on and the rebalancing mode.
Good mode but can be unbalanced by overpowered russian units shared by kiev, novgorod, desh-Il whatever kipchak and others slavics factions.
Tried a bit of SSHIP but didn't liked the crown mecanics.
I remember trying to play as venice, first thing I wanted to do was the historical conquest of greece, but the game crashed cos whichever bumfrick greek province I tried smashing didn't work, it was bugged or implemented wrong or whatever, so I haven't trusted the mod to actually work since then
SSHIP is a pretty good continuation.
it is
what is most fun nation in SSHIP
bloated steel 6.4
Too bad overhauls like SS or DeI have terrible turn times
SSHIP improves the turn loading time
Oh cool, gonna try it then, I think there's lots of scripts that bog down turn times
i never had this experience
never fails to make me load the autosave than crash again
>Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.
unmatched in horrible province design
why?
it looks like it was designed by an american
true but it could be worse
Some submods improve the map
Titanium's map is much nicer, too bad it's not being updated anymore
Yeah, it's a real shame. here's hoping the guys come back to work on it after the Remaster comes out
>remaster
Is that confirmed? A M2TW remaster?

Well, as anon said, no, but they already made a m2tw for mobile, so...
Gameplay is great, visually it looks awesome (I can't go back to playing Byzantium or Russia in vanilla when SS exists), but damn if it doesn't crash all the time. Never had to worry about this many crashes in vanilla/kingdoms MIITW.
That's because you need to use the 4gb patch because it is too old to use enough RAM
It still crashes, don’t try to deny it since even the mod authors acknowledge it’s due to the games engine
The game will always crash. But the 4GB patch helps and waiting a minute or two after every battle reduces after battle crashs as well.
