The gothic remake never came out?
The demo got panned hard and they went back to the drawing board. Idk how they managed to secure this much funding for a remake project from a poor publisher, but they're still working on it. 2025 is my guess but maybe next year.
They released a teaser demo which was so bad and so completely detached from what Gothic is that I don't know how anyone has any hope for them with the full game. A team that knew what they were doing would never have made that demo in the first place.
I think the first attempt was them trying to just bounce off the IP and make the game they wanted. People obviously didn't like that, so we'll see what their next attempt is. The only thing we've really gotten is that cinematic trailer which is okay, it's a bit jank and goes on too long but we've seen nothing of the gameplay since they've (supposedly) revamped it.

No, I think it's still Alkemia who made the original demo in 2020. They're still working on it.
It's gonna be a hard sell because part of why Gothic 1 was so well liked was the heaps of eurojank charm. That kind of thing is nearly impossible to try and replicate.

Holding out small hope that we get DQ Monsters on steam. We seem to get only the shit spinoff DQ games. The last one I had to refund (Adventures of Dai) because it was insulting. I can watch the anime any time I want. and before that was treasures which I thought was a short game but ended up being over 100 hours trying to complete it.

I'm actually really interested in the star ocean game. I've always wanted to get into the series but unfortunately the only other one on steam is apparently pretty shit
