Use mods in other unrelated singleplayer game....Banned and Money stolen!

Destiny 2 player was using a Shogun 2(singleplayer RTS game) economy mod, that got detected by Destiny 2 kernel anticheat wich as a result banned him forever from Destiny 2 for "cheating" and locked his account despite 10 years of good behaviour and no prior bans and having spent many hundreds of dollars in expansions and microtransactions.

        >But he was using a modNah he wasn't, he said he was using a program, probably cheat engine or something like that which of course would get picked up by anticheat software if it's running in the background since it's basically a memory reader / editor.

      >Cruz was apparently banned for using software called ArtMoney, a “legal” program but one that is still considered cheating software. The hitch here is that Cruz says he was using the software to simply boost his fortunes in an entirely different RTS game he was playing solo, and it had nothing to do with Destiny.
      >ArtMoney is a memory (file) editor and debugger. This is cheating program you can use for all games.
It's not weird that a cheat program gets you banned when you use it. Just claiming you weren't using it to cheat is silly.

Well, what he's alleging is more so that he wasn't using it in Destiny 2. There's mixed responses that it's capable of actually doing anything in the game, some say you can't, others say you can if you make some changes to the program. So the actual issue here is moreso
        >He's a moron for not making absolutely sure his cheat engine was closed before opening a game that will absolutely detect and tag him for it
        >ToS says cheating = auto ban and frick you so Bungie doesn't need to bother reviewing his ban
        >We also have to take him at his word he wasn't using it in Destiny 2 and I've been on this website enough that people talking about their unjust bans are almost always lying
Issue one is the most prevalent to me. Did this dumb frick think the binary machine is going to go 'oh well he's never used this in my game so it's fine'

We also have to take it at his word that THIS is the program he was banned for. He could just be lying about a different program. He's already changed his story about this multiple times.

is a memory (file) editor and debugger. This is cheating program you can use for all games.
And theres the smoking gun. A cheating program that COULD be used to cheat at Destiny 2. He was moronic enough already for being a Destiny 2 player, much less having the room temp IQ to have cheat programs installed at all while playing online oriented games.

          Anonymous

There's no problem having it installed. The problem is he was a dumb frick and it was running when he tried to play Destiny.
Usually games will just go "close that shit moron" with stuff like CE or just refuse to load.
The fact Destiny loads and then bans you is hilarious.

            Anonymous

Well until its proven that you can get banned just having it enabled then there's no proof he was banned unjustly.
If he wanted to get exoneration then he would simply redownload the game on a fresh account, open up that shit program before hand and then show it happening in a video or something on the forum instead of throwing a fit on reddit.

Instead of crying on Reddit/Twitter he should have immediately replicated this and posted it on the official forum but instead went off to cry so a mob of morons would rally behind him for a week.
If he continues playing the game (like other cheaters have) on a new account then he's pathetic liar, its as simple as that.

      >Mods
He had a fricking cheat program open. Any research into this tells you as much and it should also be obvious by the way he's dancing around saying what kind of 'program' he had open. If you have a game with a fricking anti-cheat and you try and play it with an active program for cheating, what do you think is going to happen? Yes, his case should be reexamined but unfortunately for this dude ToSes are written pretty much solely to frick over the consumer and Bungie has no actual reason to, and I doubt they care enough to bother in the first place if the fact that everybody I know is no longer playing that game means anything.

      This, apparently.

his proof is words, their proof is having access to the report data directly and performing a re-do to make sure
its bungie so claiming incompetence on their side is a very safe thing to do, but they were aware they were dealing with a Personality with world records, given how their response was ultra quick compared to the support they offer to plebs. The fact that the dude in the initial responses avoided naming the software specifically and jumped to his specific case example makes it sound like he is not feeling very secure in this situation.

I got permabanned from Path of Exile for using "third party software".
I never used any kind of mods or autoclickers or anything in any game so it was quite a surprise, particularly because I was a moronic new player at the time and had no currency and didn't even kill any atlas bosses.
I appealed the ban and asked for clarification, but they refused to provide any, saying they don't disclose such stuff.
It kind of woke me up to how I just have to blindly trust videogame companies not to ban me randomly. I'm very reluctant to spend a cent on videogames now.

Yes there's a report option for that actually.
I dont know, there was a point last year where Bungie explicitly said that anyone permanently banned in a wave was 100% cheating.
Did they mess up in the past? yeah but these days they actually look into shit before dropping the banhammer on someone.

MGS4s multiplayer mode got massively ruined for a time because a lot of big players would use lag switches to do the exact same thing you just described.
There was almost no point in playing tournaments after a certain period (it was a shame because the game had tons of cool cosmetics you can customize your soldiers with by earning points from tournaments)
