Just played both demos, what did Ganker think of them?
I enjoyed both and thought they were pretty good will probably get them when they come out.

I'm stuck in the stupid VE demo. How do I cross the destroyed bridge? I don't know how to pull up the tutorial message.
And I enjoyed the SO demo, even though I have no idea what I'm doing in battle. I'll keep my eye on it when it releases.
You have to lock on for your ice archer bro to make a pathway for you.
I got through! Thanks!
lol I mean, it's a tutorial. It should be dummy proof...
Also, her naruto run is kind of...cute. In an autistic sort of way. And the combat is more serviceable than I expected. It's not Automata or Nioh, but it works.
Yea, I thought that, too. Not that I mind. It makes him stand out a bit more than your typical anime protag. And speaking about dubs, while I very much prefer the JP dub in SO, I think the EN dub in VE works well. It probably helps that VE isn't meant to be weeby.
I actually began to prefer the Eng dub for Star Ocean even though I'm usually a weeb who watches everything Jap I can't explain why.
If you gave me a game like Fire Emblem Awakening that was weeb as frick, I would do fine with the EN dub. The reason is that it was deformed polygon characters and anime faces talking. In SO, you've got JP motion capture behind each character and seeing that with the EN dub just bugs me. I had the same problem with FF7R's EN dub cause I could see all the Japanese mannerisms in how the characters behaved.
I'm liking both demos as well. Also, whoever said VE looks ugly is crazy. It's certainly not RDR2 or FF7R, but it's not what I would call "ugly".
So I wasn't the only one who skipped the tutorial and got stuck on that bit for a while.
I messed it up at first because I missed the part where it said you needed to lock on. Just kept sending him out for him to not do anything.
I figured it out on my own eventually because the Einharier guy kept yelling at me every time I went back up the mountain and I just started pressing random buttons until I locked on.
I liked Star Ocean even though it runs like shit.
Did anyone else think the in the Jap dub version of Star Ocean the main guy sounded way older than he looked?
Enjoyed both demos. Already pre ordered VE and I'll probably pre order SO in a couple weeks as well.
So that Blonde chick at the beginning is a Robot right?
Valkyrie Elysium was surprisingly competent. I like the new Valkyrie, the combat is enjoyable thanks to the grapple chain, and the story is basically just the first Valkyrie Profile.
SP6: top tier combat, mediocre everything else. Typical Tri-Ace game. Stop making your characters look like action figures, and stop with the endless dialogue. You’ve only had this issue since, oh I don’t know, Star Ocean 1.
>Getting mad about lots of dialogue in a fricking JRPG
The hell?
They’re not any good at it. If they were, I would be content. Just because most jrpgs have droning, endless conversations filled with banal dialogue doesn’t mean I can’t find other elements to enjoy. Like I said, when it comes to Tri-Ace, they make combat systems that I love. Resonance of Fate has my favorite battle system of all time.
Can you explain SO6's combat to me? All I do is spam Square and R1. Admittedly, the Earthquake Plant fricked me up when I ran into it, but everything was just speedbumps.
I'm not sure yet if I actually like new Tales of combat system in SO over the non stop blindsiding and button bashing I did in the 4th one that was fun.
>Every Star Ocean fan ever
the idea always was to be like Star Trek, but I really think what tri-ace missed was that eventually Star Trek started showing you Earth, other ships, Vulcan, etc. even in the confines of the original series and its movies, and it was never a good idea to exclusively do underdeveloped planets
In all fairness, the trailers make it look like the second half of this game is swapping places and dragging your party members from the underdeveloped planet out into space.
Good thing Star Ocean doesn't exclusively do underdeveloped planets.
The stress is really getting to her.
I want to fill her cheeks with my cum.
I enjoyed both but not sure if they’re Day 1 purchases.
