VTMB starts great, becomes good and devolves into bad. It's a role playing game that's unfinished, and so the later third of the campaign has no role support.

Ive never been so angry at a game, almost looked up the console cheats for it during the fricking Kuejin b***h boss fight
I raged so fricking hard at that shitty boss. I was singing the games praises up until then. Plus, the blood conch thing was bugged so I couldn't even use it. And I chose the 'frick everyone' ending so I had to continue to the other boss fight without having access to the conch blood
It honestly took me a few tries to actually have it click. But when it did it fricking did. Still one of my favourites to this day but I agree that it's not for everyone. Give Redemption a go too

Jack is old enough that he might not even be on the road of humanity. As long he had a rational reason to kill the crew and his actions were in keeping with his personal code of ethics, he'd be fine. Plus he was a pirate in his former life so it's not like killing ship crews is something he only started doing after being turned into a vampire.

Maybe it's because he's so old that he can get away with that. Like, a fledgling wouldn't have the control or mentality to keep themselves in check if they start killing. Meanwhile, the old frickers have it on lock and key.

But what about humanity? I want to kill everyone too.
According to his official tabletop stats, he's Humanity 4. Given that the Dane crew posed no real threat to him, motherfricker should have gone down to 3 or even 2 for that. Maybe he just passed his roll. Either way, it's one of the single most monstrous and bestial actions any vampire takes during the entire game.

The man is a scourge - the physical manifestation of chaos. Whenever he makes an appearance in one's city, it is only a matter of time before a calamity is attributed to his latest lark.
The painting slashing, the hotel, the asylum, the bond missions, the serial killer, that prostitute redhead, deb of night, playing as malkavian, the crack den, the snuff film.
Walking out into the Santa Monica beach the first time. That little tunnel you go through, the sound of the beach, the thin-bloods you meet there. Felt uncanny.

I tried to but I messed up my stats and got annoyed they to decipher what I was saying all the time. So I just replayed Santa Monica as a Tremere instead and did Malk my 2nd playthrough.
If you like the chaos of a first Malk run then more power to you but i just found it frustrating.

its good. Maybe the best. If other games have sewer levels they aren't as long, so they don't count. I think making a long and good sewer level is the hardest part.
Making a short sewer level good is easy. But making it also long is difficult. Vtmb succeeds at both.
Figure I might as well ask this thread. How interested would you guys be in a WoD game with the serial numbers filed off (Paradox doesn't give the license to you unless you agree to make V5 stuff)? I can't promise anything but I've got a few friends with some experience in game-design related fields and I think we could maybe cobble together some indieshit.
That's fair. My pitch is >You're just some dude, multiple possible origins each with a fully unique prologue >A totally not Tzimisce comes in and ruins your life >A Hunter fights it off before it can turn you into a chair >You join your Hunter bro in a road trip across a few towns in rural America (I'm personally thinking rural virginia because I'm familiar with the area) to track that fleshcrafting frick down and finally end it >Solve other more minor supernatural crimes along the way >RPG but not terribly complicated to scare off the normies, pixel graphics but a lot of effort put into making choices actually matter with a ton of wildly branching paths and endings
Neat but don't expect to make a dime off it. Fan made content rarely pays a single month's rent.
Like I said, it's not gonna be official anyway because Paradox won't give the license out unless you use their crappy WoD5 setting. One reason I'm making the PC a know-nothing Hunter is so I can sidestep all the official copyrighted WoD terms.
just make fallout 1 with vampires and spooky monsters, its not going to sell much because new IP and all that jazz, but at least we will have something to talk about it.
I also have a wod-like project in the back burner, not sure if it will ever see the light but its there.
Spooky Fallout could be fun, but I dunno if I'd have the ability to do that. I'm still in the blue-sky workshopping phase of things. Just wanted your guys' opinion on if it was a worthwhile venture.
>>You're just some dude, multiple possible origins each with a fully unique prologue >>A totally not Tzimisce comes in and ruins your life >>A Hunter fights it off before it can turn you into a chair >>You join your Hunter bro in a road trip across a few towns in rural America (I'm personally thinking rural virginia because I'm familiar with the area) to track that fleshcrafting frick down and finally end it

Oh so an Original WOD adventure. I misread I thought you wanted to make like a carbon copy of WOD but something else I guess.
As for the pitch, it sounds really kino actually. I'm imagining like a turn based action game ala Nu-XCOM (only one I'm familiar with tbh so bear with me here).
Honestly given the kinda hick vibes, I'm thinking there could be a reference to Roderick Ferrel, that guy who got inspired to become a vampire cult lord via playing VTM with his mom, and killing two people.
Like I know Southern US than Virgina, but still that would be cool.
>As for the pitch, it sounds really kino actually. I'm imagining like a turn based action game ala Nu-XCOM
Yeah the combat resolution I'm still workshopping, but it'll definitely be turn-based.
One idea I'd like to use is a "heat" system. >Every attack in combat generates a small amount of "heat", which is how much attention the fight is attracting. >When you hit the ceiling for heat, you've gotta finish the fight before cops or other things arrive, and when returning to the overworld if you maxed out your heat in a fight you'll have penalties to buying and selling stuff (authorities on alert) and moving around. >Different weapons generate different amounts of heat, for example guns are quite strong and let you keep distance but generate a shitload of heat. You can suppress them to reduce it drastically, but it's still very high. >The heat ceiling varies area to area and is determined by things like how dense the population is and if it's day or night (giving you a reason to actually fight monsters at night).
The idea is to keep fights brief and dangerous, and to give you as a Hunter a reason to bother getting in close with machetes and other relatively more quiet weapons. You might not care about the masquerade, but you do care about being caught.
And thanks for the vote of confidence, I'll try to sell my coder friend on it next time we hang out, which isn't too often unfortunately.
>One idea I'd like to use is a "heat" system. >Every attack in combat generates a small amount of "heat", which is how much attention the fight is attracting.
Ah, just like the "Enemy Reinforcements" in XCOM 2, where once you break stealth, there's a chance of a new pod spawning for the rest of the mission, and a combination of a mission timelimit where you had until an enemy airsquadron was going to arrive and kill your transport, trapping you in enemy territory with no way out.
I like the heat system and it makes sense, you don't want the police see you shooting up people even if they are vampires (because they don't know that). There could be some nice interactions with sheriffs and detectives which might be on your ass but are also investigating weird paranormal murders.
>but I dunno if I'd have the ability to do that.
Fallout 1 clone wouldn't be that difficult to develop, assuming you are going to use Unity you can purchase the gameplay components cutting most of the development time, 3D or 2D is up to you.
You can also try to develop a blobber, similar to Strahd's Possession, Might and Magic, Grimrick, Grimore, Wizardry, SMT, Starcrawlers, etc, old SMT games have an interesting template for a vampire game, urban environments, monsters, dialog, you should check it out.
>World of Horror
I like the pitch, given the setting I would lean into Southern Gothic (True Detective Season 1 as a modern example) and it makes me think of the movie Near Dark (1987).
Oh yeah, I'd like to give it its own identity through the rural vibes. WoD is usually so cosmopolitan and urban.
World of Horror is definitely an inspiration, though with none of the roguelike stuff. I'm not a big fan of that personally.
>One idea I'd like to use is a "heat" system. >Every attack in combat generates a small amount of "heat", which is how much attention the fight is attracting.

Sounds about right?
Kinda? Not as extreme obviously, and not relying on the binary of XCOM 2's stealth/not stealth. Basically give every action an opportunity cost, try to end it quickly with overwhelming firepower at the risk of the cops showing up and having to bolt? Or risk your own ass with a slower but "cleaner" kill. I'd also want a lot of talking and investigation, for fear of it becoming a little too VN-y.
I am open to making it more of a tactics game, my only concern is it might get boring with only two controllable characters.
>but I dunno if I'd have the ability to do that.

That is an idea, I'm still in the very early phases of planning this possible venture.

>I'll try to sell my coder friend
Write a design document.
That's a good idea.
totally, if it was good. wod is full of dumb shit so it being an unlicensed homebrew version of the setting is practically a plus anyway
Ain't that the truth, tbh my group's RPG games are very homebrew heavy.
If anything comes of it, I'll be sure you let you Anons know. Thanks for the advice!

Video games are the big exception when it comes to their creator friendliness (and "compared to GW" isn't much of a compliment), you have to use WoD5 for vidya whereas you can still monetize pre-WoD5 stuff and even nWoD stuff with other things.
All of the best parts of the game involve dialog with people
Everything else is pretty much garbage
Everytime i was sent on another fricking mission where i had to just kill people i wanted to gouge my eyes out
Then i calmed down when i talked to the first NPC about random lore shit
Best memory is probably the "driver" at the end, whoever had the idea of having you talk through things you just went through with the taxi driver is a genius
>Anarchs are supposed to be progressive hard left leaning vampires, some of them even proclaimed communists >Even they hate all of the Kuei Jin unconditionally >And they're completely justified for it
What the frick did they mean by this?
What
Kuei-Jin are a weird abomination of lore. They're not even vampires and are both extremely racist and stronger (on average) than vampires (though the biggest and baddest vamps mog kuei-jin) to the point there's no real vamp presence in Asia.
Yes, they're quite dumb. Bloodlines makes them look cooler than they actually are, and they're still the weakest part of the game by far.
Kuei Jin just can't coexist with kindred and the anarchs know it. Not all anarchs are far left either btw, a lot of anarchs are just elder vamps who don't like the Camarilla because it gets in the way of their power hungry ways not so much ideological issues.
They'd really have to keep upping the power level to keep up with how silly strong Fledgeling got in a few months. Even the most talented undead prodigies take like a decade or two to get to their level.
I guess if they canonized Caine juicing you up and he stopped, so now you have to deal with hot-shot vamps looking to take you down but you're not actually *as* strong as you were, that could be interesting.
>Upping the power levels
I'd assume you would just have to start as a different fledgling or else they make you an elder like they're doing in Bloodlines 2 now. Which is essentially anime tier power scaling because elder vampires in WoD lore are insanely powerful.
I'm pretty sure they'd find a good solution to address it >I guess if they canonized Caine juicing you up and he stopped, so now you have to deal with hot-shot vamps looking to take you down but you're not actually *as* strong as you were, that could be interesting.
would a great idea tbh
at least a sequel to deal with all the shit that happened in bloodlines would've been great
yeah. It's in the past now. All there is for is Bloodlines 2 (if it ever gets out)
I wish Werewolf: Heart of Gaia was released. Dreamforge made some decent games, and Sanitarium and Anvil of Dawn were great. I had huge hopes for this one. WoD is a cursed brand.
WW was kind moronic, modern WW doubles down on their moronation, Paradox needs to clean the company and hire ttrpg writers who hate larpers to manage this IP.
The ambience is unmatched, its a shame the area is relatively small. I love the alleyways and the neon lights, and knowing you are in foreign claimed territory. Also going to use this opportunity to shill my favorite artist.
How hard would it be to make a game like this today? I don't mean like a modern version, I mean the same kind of graphics and storytelling. We don't need triple A bullshit when the game is just good.
Technically a single person could develop this game in 2023, its not very advanced, light is backed direct into the texture, level design is amateurish, game is bad, the quality of the writing is all over the place especially for the main character, whoever the voice acting is top tier even by 2023, voice acting is the most expensive part.
If you are making everything by yourself, programming, modelling, art, music, it would take around 3 to 4 years, I think, but you can make this game under 1mil with a 3 or 4 devs in 2 years, assuming you already have the design document, quests, concept art, and a small prototype to guide your development.
>inb4 something something bloodlines 2 development
Two reasons, the people behind Bloodlines 2 had no idea what they wanted for the game, and graphically Bloodlines 2 is on par with your average AA to AAA games, hyper realism is expensive and it takes time.
The need for state of the art graphics has been a big drag on AAA and AA games from the beginning. It needs to become acceptable for big titles to skimp on graphics as long as they make up for it in other areas.
The problem with decreasing the quality to meshes is that normalgays won't support your game. >Cawdutty has 1TB of game in it and looks real as frick
You don't need normalgays to survive in this industry anymore, but the investors, they care about that shit, and Paradox really wants Bloodlines 2 to be a heavy hitter so they can move books, in their minds the people who play single player rpgs are going to buy their shitty ttrpg books.
Its literally a site where you can listen to the radio station
Goddamn people are moronic nowadays, its not like its fricking asking for your credit card details when you enter it
What the frick do you think a simple website can do to your computer?
There's a round based multiplayer MMO of it I've been enjoying, it's nice. You start as a 13th gen and can improve your generation or learn more disciplines etc by doing shit you should be doing like hunting masquerade violators or just doing your job
It's a SS13 total conversio
Discord is Dq3TZA6g
Honestly there is no game that actually come close to VTMB specifically, but across the board games from around the 2000s are more atmospheric in general. There are plenty of suggestions, but frankly if you check the Ganker top 100 list from a decade back, you can just prune it for games released around that time.
In giving some that shouldnt even filter a zoomer: Thief, splinter Cell Chaos theory, Max payne franchise.
The first half is fantastic. Its politics hinting at something bigger brewing, all the sidequests reinforcing the dark seedy atmosphere, etc. You're really immersed in that world until the game goes down the pipes.
Part of the reason it's so good is because the second half is shit so it's easier to throw it away and laugh at it, you can hold onto the memories of grand delusion.
This is why the second game is going to have a really tough time even if it's good, it's competing against open endings and mystery.
Anyone else Nosmaxxing? >Own four apartment buildings >Live in underground network tunnels with saferooms under each >Have cameras everywhere within a 5 mile radius >Haven't seen daylight and only go out at night >Hit the homemade gym everyday except Sunday >All of my tenants contact me through the internet (none have seen my face and anytime a repair needs done I send someone else) >Go on the schrecknet (/x/ and /c/) daily
OK Ganker, I've never played this game but I know I would love it because I love RPGs in this style and love dark settings. Give me the quickest tl;dr to what I need to get this relic running well on PC
GOG Version comes with the Unofficial Patch ready to go, it's the most 'vanilla but fixed' version of the game and I recommend it for a first playthrough.
The game is very replayable so then you can do the Unofficial + Patch, which also adds content and tweaks to balance and shit, it's very good but does change the game.
>tfw i sided with the Camarilla on my first playthrough
It was so unsatisfying that I went online immediately and spoiled myself on all the other endings.
>want to larp as heroic noble Toreador with classy clothes >tfw all of the late game swords are gay Katanas, no European swords >neonate can't find himself any classy clothes either
Damn it.
The only clan I'd tell people not to play first is Nossie because going through sewers is boring (though I played it a bit recently and found that you can more or less walk topside just fine, just don't get too close to randos)
Malk is a great first run. Some legitimately fantastic writing and there's no outright spoilers, it's all hints, which, if anything, makes it even better for a new player.
People tell newbies to the game not to play Malk or Nos the first time, but that's bullshit. I plated Malk going in blind and had a great time.
Also, if you didn't play Malk on your first playthrough you've never had the true Malk experience.
So did I and it was great. >People tell newbies to the game not to play Malk or Nos the first time
That's just redditors crying about stuff like >b-b-but you'll miss this ebin foreshadowing in the 3/14th of act 2!!!
because their favorite e-celeb told them about it.
It's just a little bit of extra flavor, nothing to lose your shit about.
When does it get good?
As soon as you're out of the tutorial and load into your apartment in Santa Monica.
VTMB starts great, becomes good and devolves into bad. It's a role playing game that's unfinished, and so the later third of the campaign has no role support.
I just played through it and I disagree. It's awesome all the way thrugh
>good evening
Wrong question with VTMB, you should ask
>when does it stop being good
instead.

Personally I'd say china town is already a gigantic step down from the three areas that come before it, but yeah it completely falls off after that.
I prefer chinatown to hollywood

Mind you it's entirely because I didn't think there'd be a scene of someone else opening it if I didn't, and I wanted to know what was inside.
I also opened it.
How the frick did Jack get inside without the key?
The key was also on the Dane at the time, he used the key to open it after murdering the entire crew.

Same. I even forgot the ending and then opened it one more time.
Why would anyone think this game is woke? There isn't a single female character in this game that doesn't have her breasts out.
my pure wife female gangrel fledgling doesn't
I honestly don't know why people hate on the combat. I don't think modern gaming does it all that much better.
they haven't tried celerity and going full matrix or obfuscate stealth playthrough.
I'm replaying now and forgot how good it is

Can someone please take me back to the 90s? I'll settle for '99, please?
Pray that VTMB2 will provide that kind of setting.
It wont
Guys help me out. I'm playing it again after ages, I wanna rp an mid 2000s hot topic edgelord. What're the right plays?
Toreador with katana meeleing
Toreador dresses too nice. Gangrels are the goons who are gonna run around in black jeans and heavy metal band shirts.
Tremere male and female nails the hot topic look the best. Also you get the ability to turn people into massive blood bombs and become a blood god berserker with blood shield. It's as edgy as it gets
isn't male ventrue the only player model that gets a full leather trench coat? that seems like a prerequisite
Please post Jeanette, I need some vamp breasts this morning.
>Wants the crazy

Yeah, the Paradox shills went too hard during September and now everyone's burnt out on VTMB threads during October.
There was an actual attempt to port Bloodlines to proper Source to make it more moddable but Activision shut it down IRRC.
Honestly I think it was because everyone was more focused on either World of Horror going 1.0, or That incest cannibal VN grabbing everyone's attention.

>he doesn't know
Does it play well on the Deck and do I need to mod it?
The GOG version comes with the most popular unofficial patch included to deal with all the bugs and shit (and a optional skip of Hollywood Sewers).
Steam, I dunno. Playability on Deck? I mean it's a 2004 game using a beta Source engine, all bets are off.
I got the unoffical patch working on linux on my laptop, add the exe to steam and run it with proton and after setting up the patch the game should be good
Is this the only game with a good sewer level?
I don't even know what to say right now. I kinda wish you would die
its good. Maybe the best. If other games have sewer levels they aren't as long, so they don't count. I think making a long and good sewer level is the hardest part.
Making a short sewer level good is easy. But making it also long is difficult. Vtmb succeeds at both.
Can I save both therese and jeannete and still frick Jeanette?
Ye
Figure I might as well ask this thread. How interested would you guys be in a WoD game with the serial numbers filed off (Paradox doesn't give the license to you unless you agree to make V5 stuff)? I can't promise anything but I've got a few friends with some experience in game-design related fields and I think we could maybe cobble together some indieshit.
I mean copyright or no it's gotta be interesting enough to not just be "WOD but Ganker version" or something like that.
That's fair. My pitch is
>You're just some dude, multiple possible origins each with a fully unique prologue
>A totally not Tzimisce comes in and ruins your life
>A Hunter fights it off before it can turn you into a chair
>You join your Hunter bro in a road trip across a few towns in rural America (I'm personally thinking rural virginia because I'm familiar with the area) to track that fleshcrafting frick down and finally end it
>Solve other more minor supernatural crimes along the way
>RPG but not terribly complicated to scare off the normies, pixel graphics but a lot of effort put into making choices actually matter with a ton of wildly branching paths and endings
Like I said, it's not gonna be official anyway because Paradox won't give the license out unless you use their crappy WoD5 setting. One reason I'm making the PC a know-nothing Hunter is so I can sidestep all the official copyrighted WoD terms.
Spooky Fallout could be fun, but I dunno if I'd have the ability to do that. I'm still in the blue-sky workshopping phase of things. Just wanted your guys' opinion on if it was a worthwhile venture.
>>You're just some dude, multiple possible origins each with a fully unique prologue

Sounds about right?
I like the heat system and it makes sense, you don't want the police see you shooting up people even if they are vampires (because they don't know that). There could be some nice interactions with sheriffs and detectives which might be on your ass but are also investigating weird paranormal murders.
>I'll try to sell my coder friend
Write a design document.
>but I dunno if I'd have the ability to do that.
That is an idea, I'm still in the very early phases of planning this possible venture.
Thanks.
That's a good idea.
Ain't that the truth, tbh my group's RPG games are very homebrew heavy.
If anything comes of it, I'll be sure you let you Anons know. Thanks for the advice!
I'm off to play vidya. Good luck anon, I mean that. Post your progress in those dev threads and I hope to see more there!
just make fallout 1 with vampires and spooky monsters, its not going to sell much because new IP and all that jazz, but at least we will have something to talk about it.
I also have a wod-like project in the back burner, not sure if it will ever see the light but its there.
Neat but don't expect to make a dime off it. Fan made content rarely pays a single month's rent.
NTA but at least Paradox is creator friendly with WOD compared to GW.
Video games are the big exception when it comes to their creator friendliness (and "compared to GW" isn't much of a compliment), you have to use WoD5 for vidya whereas you can still monetize pre-WoD5 stuff and even nWoD stuff with other things.
Underworld got four movies, supernatural got 8 seasons, true blood got 7 seasons, there is clearly a market for it.
there is also blade and the strain, for games, there is bloodrayne, legacy of kain, skyrim DLC, nightmare creatures, nocturne.
Underworld has 5 movies and they're all kino
totally, if it was good. wod is full of dumb shit so it being an unlicensed homebrew version of the setting is practically a plus anyway
>Anarchs are supposed to be progressive hard left leaning vampires, some of them even proclaimed communists
>Even they hate all of the Kuei Jin unconditionally
>And they're completely justified for it
What the frick did they mean by this?
What
Just like in real life, the children of the East and of the West will never see eye to eye no matter the political affiliation.
I like the kuei-jin, and technically they are ghosts not vampires.
Kuei Jin just can't coexist with kindred and the anarchs know it. Not all anarchs are far left either btw, a lot of anarchs are just elder vamps who don't like the Camarilla because it gets in the way of their power hungry ways not so much ideological issues.
I get what you meant but there's nothing progressive about commies.
Soviet Russia made anti-racist films as a form of propagandizing against the US.
not wiping the vatnig union out of existence in a ww2 continuation war is the biggest disaster of that millennia
More like "mast-urb-piece" heh
Lol gottem
Fricking Nosferatus man.
It was supposed to be a trilogy.
Part 1 - Los Angeles
Part 2 - Barstow
Part 3 - Las Vegas
Imagine if we had a TRILOGY with the same devs...
First time I hear about that.
Source?
straight from the Troika guy
at least a sequel to deal with all the shit that happened in bloodlines would've been great
They'd really have to keep upping the power level to keep up with how silly strong Fledgeling got in a few months.
I'm pretty sure they'd find a good solution to address it
>I guess if they canonized Caine juicing you up and he stopped, so now you have to deal with hot-shot vamps looking to take you down but you're not actually *as* strong as you were, that could be interesting.
would a great idea tbh
yeah. It's in the past now. All there is for is Bloodlines 2 (if it ever gets out)
this information is insane and has ruined my night
>bloodlines in Vegas
It would have been beyond kino.
vegas sure but barstow? feels like you'd be really struggling to make a full fleshed out game
I wish Werewolf had some good games...
That's not even out yet anon
Soon!
This but Hunter
Was Hunter: The Reckoning any good?
Is blood magic super op or do all clans make you feel op later on? I am literally unstoppable and didnt even get to Hollywood yet
Tzimiscebros, how are your chairs doing?
It won't shut the frick up
>he didn't get rid of its vocal cords first
ngmi lad
is a game really a masterpiece if you have to force it every single day
I liked Chinatown
?si=ZGmL60h-WscUEUQ6
I LOVE CHINATOWN
Rare to see chinatown love, usualy it's me who has to defend it.
Chinatown is great
The ambience is unmatched, its a shame the area is relatively small. I love the alleyways and the neon lights, and knowing you are in foreign claimed territory.
Also going to use this opportunity to shill my favorite artist.
What did people dislike about it?
I'd rank it over... ah frick... the area with LaCroix's tower...
Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown.
I like Yukie.
It's a little barebones and I do not like Kuei-Jin but what few quests it has are pretty fun.
The retired assassins are great and Mr. Ox's errands have a wonderfully creepy vibe, some of my favorite quests in the game.
>joke about her age since she looks like a teen
>joke about tentacles
Most of this game couldn't be made nowadays.
Trailer music is out
>don't recognize the credits
>they're all Swedes
Is this Paradox doing something in-house?
>edgerunners had like a sad music in the end
>maybe we should copy that
It sucks.
milk
did they reveal clans yet?
No, and I'm starting to worry that there's going to be another delay.
this game but with a complete second half would be 11/10
I love this creepy dude. By far my favorite character in the game.
How hard would it be to make a game like this today? I don't mean like a modern version, I mean the same kind of graphics and storytelling. We don't need triple A bullshit when the game is just good.
It's just a really shitty source engine game, no one would like vtmb if it came out today
>no one would like vtmb if it came out today
>Implying indies haven't been doing well lately
The audacity of this Thinblood
You don't need normalgays to survive in this industry anymore, but the investors, they care about that shit, and Paradox really wants Bloodlines 2 to be a heavy hitter so they can move books, in their minds the people who play single player rpgs are going to buy their shitty ttrpg books.
>in their minds the people who play single player rpgs are going to buy their shitty ttrpg books.
It worked on me
https://debofnight.com/
I ain't clicking on that shit
Its literally a site where you can listen to the radio station
Goddamn people are moronic nowadays, its not like its fricking asking for your credit card details when you enter it
What the frick do you think a simple website can do to your computer?
>What the frick do you think a simple website can do to your computer?
newbie
"Deb, you think that's air you're breathing?"
>conspiracy tard was right all along
kino
then why don't I want to play it? It's on my pc
Redemption>>>>>>
Honestly Redemption was pretty good, I don't know how many people played it but its plot was really good.
But the gameplay was ass.
I AM WEAK WITH LACK OF PRECIOUS BLOOD
I loved the medieval stuff but kinda started to burn out by the time it got to the modern day. Worth going back to?
Honestly if you get to modern day you're pretty much done already.
unfathomably based, and in the fullness of time I've come to agree with you
bloodlines is still kino of the highest order however
Remember when they did a whole ARG for 2's announcement? I wonder if any of that "tinder for vampires" shit will still be in the game.
What other games have that kino early 2000's feel like VTMB has?
Deus Ex
Redemption
Arx Fatalis
Honestly there is no game that actually come close to VTMB specifically, but across the board games from around the 2000s are more atmospheric in general. There are plenty of suggestions, but frankly if you check the Ganker top 100 list from a decade back, you can just prune it for games released around that time.
In giving some that shouldnt even filter a zoomer: Thief, splinter Cell Chaos theory, Max payne franchise.
literally just watch some shitty vtuber like sseths or mandalore and play what they play, your entire identity is basically that
you don't know what vtuber means do you? cause sseth or mandalore aren't that
bloodrayne 2
If you're asking for games set in a relatively contemporary casual urban setting, I'm afraid you're SOL my friend.
Perfect Dark Zero
Still can barely fathom this runs on source. I know some source jank but this is the worst I have ever seen on source.
It's a source prototype iirc
Time for the yearly playthrough I suppose.
Anyone have a DL? Lost my old one when the computer I had finally shat the bed, and I'm not paying Activision for fricking over the devs.
I mean, I think it's on gog which means it's on 'not gog'
Should've realized. Going to check there, thanks.
I will forever remember this kino
The first half is fantastic. Its politics hinting at something bigger brewing, all the sidequests reinforcing the dark seedy atmosphere, etc. You're really immersed in that world until the game goes down the pipes.
Part of the reason it's so good is because the second half is shit so it's easier to throw it away and laugh at it, you can hold onto the memories of grand delusion.
This is why the second game is going to have a really tough time even if it's good, it's competing against open endings and mystery.
Anyone else Nosmaxxing?
>Own four apartment buildings

Good job sewer rat, you've kill teamed yourself.

What's her clan?
GOD I WISH THAT WERE ME
Malkavian
Nagaraja
actually checks out. what a way to go
When controller support mod and Steam Deck support
Imagine if you had a flaw in VTMB2 where you had to deal with the Thirst of Ages. I'm sure our character won't be that old though.
OK Ganker, I've never played this game but I know I would love it because I love RPGs in this style and love dark settings. Give me the quickest tl;dr to what I need to get this relic running well on PC
The gog version and possibly the unofficial fan patch?
I don't know if the gog version has it incorporated, but that was pretty much it before.
Fell down the rabbit hole of fan settings, geez
>tfw i sided with the Camarilla on my first playthrough
It was so unsatisfying that I went online immediately and spoiled myself on all the other endings.
Strauss or Lacroix?
Strauss
One of the mods that lets you side witht he sabbat locks into a new hub zone that had a banger song, wish i could find the song on youtube
What clan should I pick for a first playthrough
Modded the demon vampires, "vanilla" (patched plus) malkavian
>want to larp as heroic noble Toreador with classy clothes
>tfw all of the late game swords are gay Katanas, no European swords
>neonate can't find himself any classy clothes either
Damn it.
unofficial patch adds a european sword to the game.
sneed
While I admire the elobare medievalish prose, when playing it it really wore me down and made me quit the game (among other things).
CRAB NIPPLES!!
THE BONES OF YOUR ANCESTORS
WILL RISE UP AND RECLAIM THE FLESH
THEY LENT THEIR SORRY PROGENY
What character gets the best dialogue from speaking to as a Malkavian? I think the dialogue for Gary is really great.
People tell newbies to the game not to play Malk or Nos the first time, but that's bullshit. I plated Malk going in blind and had a great time.
Also, if you didn't play Malk on your first playthrough you've never had the true Malk experience.
I always liked the Mercurio talks.
So did I and it was great.
>People tell newbies to the game not to play Malk or Nos the first time
That's just redditors crying about stuff like
>b-b-but you'll miss this ebin foreshadowing in the 3/14th of act 2!!!
because their favorite e-celeb told them about it.
It's just a little bit of extra flavor, nothing to lose your shit about.
SEXXXOOOOOOOOOO
well said
man interacting with the computers was so fun in this
why is no other game able to make you feel like hackerman ?
There are entire games like Uplink and Hacknet designed entirely around that.
