More news about Bloodlines 2 is dropping in two days. What are you Anons hoping for and what do you expect to see? If Lasombra are gonna be playable, I hope they are shown off first
God yes. Unfortunately, I recently learned that V5 Tzimisce no longer have Vicissitude. Instead, they use Dominate and Protean to make people-chairs and stuff.
>31. Redemption
Are they hinting at a remaster of VTM Redemption? Would anyone be even interested in it though?

And you will do with with no unofficial patches installed.
Whoever made that image is bullshitting. Histories were cut content. You can't pick them unless you mess around with the .ini files. Anyone who wants a more vanilla experience should go with the Simple Mod Patch instead.

>What are you Anons hoping for and what do you expect to see?
Hope: 1-2 minute video teaser for each clan that shows off areas related to them, some of their important characters, plus a few abilities/spells/powers shown off.
Expectation: 2-3 paragraphs of description for each clan, and a short description of their abilities/spells/powers.
I was braced for how pozzed 2 would be but the demo they showed looked decent save for the greenhaired chick. In this dark world of Larry Fink, I have 0 hope that it will be a good videogame instead of indoctrination for shabbos goys.
If the can hit the bar of salvaging the wreck that they started with I will set further expectation, until then I'm just going to assume it'll be steamy dogshit.
I'm hoping to see a game I'm excited to play and that looks like a shiny new adventure in this universe that I could spend a hundred hours in. I'm expecting a game that has no idea what people liked about the original and purposefully tries to be different in every way out of spite. Hopefully I'm wrong though as I haven't actually looked at anything about the game
I have no real hope for it. I view it that Bloodlines was only popular because of the campy and overacted elements of it. If Bloodlines 2 is trying to play the setting straight, it's a catastrophe in the making.
Using the source engine completely stymied any sales potential this game had. Because it had to be released on the same day as half life 2 and thus it was overshadowed by half life 2. Now we’ll never get a proper sequel in the style and feel of the original game. I have no hope for the modern sequel because modern video game developers have very little real world experience which is needed to make good entertainment and great stories.
I'm thinking about trying the latest clan quest mod, I think I've played an earlier version and wasn't blown away bu the added content.
Which clan has the most unique new content?
Also is joining the sabbat worth it?
Normies don't like RPGs and immersive sims so it's a bad investment for big studios. Those genres are also hard to make right so most indies are out too. I suppose you could point to BG3 as proof that doesn't apply but that's just the rare exception.
KCD did well. Bloodlines in particular failed at launch because the devs weren't allowed to finish it and were forced to rush it out a week after halo 2. Considering it's getting a sequel I think it's safe to say it sold plenty over the years following that.
It's hard to top it, this game is like the planets aligning, or more accurately all the different arms that made it aligned, it's art, it's soundtrack, it's audioscape, it's graphics, it's environment design, it's writing, it's presentation, it all aligned to create something that is greater than the sum of it's parts.
I'd love to see this game remade just so that it can be picked apart by die hard fans.
i just finished the initial quest for the big tiddy schizo and the sexpot blew her brains out so i think i messed that one up, but i'm gonna press forward in between starfield sessions
>camera motion is fricked on new hardware >if you want to play it you need to either play in third person and deal with the frickery of the engine or else dig out your 15 year old laptop

>camera motion is fricked on new hardware

the camera sway and headbob that's built in to the exe and can't be disabled, it's too frickedo n new hardware due to the power.
Okay, Ganker, these three hot babes are all in danger and only YOU can help them. There is only enough time to save one meaning that the other two will die, BUT whoever you pick will be eternally loyal to you and love you forever (and will become a vampire of the same generation if you want to). Whom do you choose?
Lasombra are aggressive social darwinists who get access to a unique shadow-bending discipline. They also tend to be deeply spiritual, feel a strong connection to the sea and/or develop a fascination with the Abyss (an otherworldly realm where eldritch horrors reside)
Thanks.
You get to fight one if you have the plus patch and meet one in the junkyard if you do the southland slasher quest (vanilla)
Okay, so?, they're both unofficial patches you fat moron, none of them are the original.
Also, here's a challenge, what's bad about these changes?, they literally add cut good shit into the game, so what's bad about them?
>its to show how much Unofficial patch deviates from Troika's game

I played VTMB first and recently bought KOTOR, literally just play both but which to start with all depends on how much interest you have in the source material. If you're a massive star wars nerd then you already have your answer
if you are high humanity(9-10) you are "undead" by name only
a high humanity can with some work digest food even watch the sun in the shadow, hell even the werewolves don't touch you anymore
high humanity vamps can do it,they don't even need "blush of life aka appear like human who can eat and drink stuff power" because it's always on
Perks for being a literal saint

>The one on the right uses the updated .dll engine files, that's is. Content wise and everything else on the right is VANILLA.
It's not just a different dll, it can't be. The only thing that would fix is make the game run better on modern operating systems. It sure as shit wouldn't fix the UI issues
Indicative of all the dumb changes wesp5 did for his bad mod.
Also what is shown on the left is the BASIC unofficial patch, not the Plus version.
>Indicative of all the dumb changes wesp5 did for his bad mod.
This is a change that actually makes sense. Load up the game right now and go to downtown LA. Unless you're blind as a bat, you might notice that the area in the tutorial doesn't match the hub at all
>It's not just a different dll, it can't be. The only thing that would fix is make the game run better on modern operating systems. It sure as shit wouldn't fix the UI issues
Try it.
The only files the unofficial patch touches that have an impact on performance on modern systems are the .dll files. Everything else are content files (dialogue, stats, models, maps etc.).
Left on the screens are completely VANILLA content wise.
>This is a change that actually makes sense. Load up the game right now and go to downtown LA. Unless you're blind as a bat, you might notice that the area in the tutorial doesn't match the hub at all
Doesn't matter, it's not a bug. A patch fixes bugs. Going beyond that is a mod. That changes the original vision of the devs.
Anon VTMB is literally unfinished why tf do you the unoficial patch exists

Yes but westp5 doesn't "finish" anything. He outright fabricates most of the content of the patch, its not based on anything. or takes requests from idiots on the planet-vampire forums. Nothing of what you see in his patches was ever a part of TROIKA's plans.
I don't get this image >multiple screenshots of literally a tutorial area, you spend at the absolute worst 5 minutes here, once, or you just skip it entirely >pics on the right are not even worse, just a slightly different environment, everything else is the same
How can you possibly jump to >Unofficial Patch + is bad
conclusion from it? What.
In theory I could possibly understand the minor complaint about new Histories. If they were extremely bad, unbalanced, full of gay propaganda shit etc. Which is not the case.
So yeah I really don't understand this image at all. It even plays the same and it's a tutorial...that just looks a bit different in a few places... >source
Idk just an old pic I saved. Quick google told me it was related to Witcher.
Indicative of all the dumb changes wesp5 did for his bad mod.
Also what is shown on the left is the BASIC unofficial patch, not the Plus version.
But it's so minor and insignificant that it looks like a bait. If there were multiple, much bigger examples of such stuff - sure.
Who cares ffs. I've been playing this game for almost two decades now and i don't care about weapon stats. All i know is starting pistol sucks and you don't need high social checks unless you roleplay. Seriously, are you such a nerd that item stats is what this game is about for you?
He added gayshit when it wasn't there
He changed the game levels for no reason
You don't know this but he even changed where you find items like important artifacts.
Nothing wrong with trying out Wesp5's mod after you finish the game. But don't pretend it's a small patch, even the basic version changes shit.
Brujah, invest into celerity and firearms and become vampire Max Payne, really op and the ""the nosferatu sewer section doesn't have a significant difficulty bump whatsoever""
Tanktrue. Fortitude + Presence and high combat defense. Can do guns, blades, or even brawl if you want. Even Ming-Xiao will struggle to do much more than tickle you.
how? the colt anaconda on alternate firing mode wrecks everything in the game
Honestly dont remember. But also remember youre kind of chilling in santa monica and down town and then you go to the snuff film house and insane mutants
There's an (incredibly long) text file guide in the unofficial patch+ extras l think and it has a very detailed guide for every single mission that contains something like that, it has the lockpick requirements for each locked door etc etc, it doesn't cover the new added cut missions so you'll have to rely on something else for that.
>to complete each mission the optimal way?
Hacking + Lockpicking + Research + Persuasion before Hollywood (remember that Hacking + Lockpicking can also be buffed by Bloodbuff)
After arriving in Hollywood use your hopefully large pool of XP to spec into combat of your choice.
The version off of GoG is supposed to come with the official patch preinstalled, right? I'm not getting backgrounds in character creation for some reason.
histories were disabled in the official patch, you had to enable them with the console iirc. Not sure if unofficial patch (which is installed in the gog version, if that's what you mean) enables them by default. Try running the game through the shortcut and if you confirm you're running the unofficial patch with no histories, type "vchar_edit_histories 1" in the console to enable
>The version off of GoG is supposed to come with the official patch preinstalled, right?
I pirated the GoG version recently and it comes with the unofficial patch (not the plus version of it), although not the newest one.
Because everyone actually knows the civil war was about state rights and Lincoln was a fascist (I mean look at his statue) but its too real for lefties so they have to make it about slavery despite the article of liberation did not infact free slaves, the north had slaves past the civil war and the whole planned deportation of all blacks to a proto-Israel.
Funny how you proved that other anon who said that you morons don't think, just respond to stimuli as conditioned 100% correct. Your brain just shut off the moment you read "states' rights" and you rushed to post your ebin "huehuehue rights to what lol" like a programmed NPC.
If you have never ever played the game before, then Basic. >but muh sewers
Everyone should do them at least once, the lore with all the sewer workers vanishing for like 50 years is neat.
After you have finished the game at least once, then do plus, so you can actually notice all the differences and see if you think all the fanfic stuff is neat or dumb.
Haggle, Seduction, Intimidate and Inspection are the dump feats. Of Toreador Disciplines, Presence is probably the dud. Also, pick a form of combat (Guns or Melee) and focus on it; Toreador lean towards firearms thanks to Auspex, but Celerity is good for either; you need to be ready for fighting for several quests and the endgame. Never buy Humanity.
[...]
I do think Plus has some good stuff that was actual Troika-intended material reinserted; but get 7.5-8.0, because after that it absolutely became his weird fanfic.
I've just finished my first playthrough on 11.4 (i think) patch. Which parts are most fanfic-y?
>Toreador >shouldn't put into
Attributes:
Manipulation and Appearance, because both just upgrade Haggle and Seduction, which are pretty useless feats.
Abilities:
Intimidation and Subterfuge because Intimidate and Seduction are significantly worse than Persuasion in dialogues. Less checks, bad or almost no rewards.
Stealth is meh too.
Disciplines:
If you want to use Ranged Combat (which you probably should as Tor) - don't really need to upgrade Presence. Auspex and Celerity are much better.
Don't put any points into Presence unless you plan on doing a melee playthrough. Even with Wesp restoring the ability to use it in dialogue, it still isn't worth th XP cost
Yes but westp5 doesn't "finish" anything. He outright fabricates most of the content of the patch, its not based on anything. or takes requests from idiots on the planet-vampire forums. Nothing of what you see in his patches was ever a part of TROIKA's plans.
>He outright fabricates most of the content of the patch, its not based on anything
The example brought up in that image you posted is in fact based on something. The vanilla tutorial area is supposed to be outside of the LA theater and yet it doesn't match the design of the LA quest hub. Do you get it now? Or do you think this was intentional?
Why do you moron assume the theater is inside the LA hub when it isn't?
Also, what does "supposed to"? As fat as we know the area outside of the theater looks EXACTLY as TROIKA wanted. You are the one assuming shit you have no basis for. Which is exactly what wesp5 does for his shitty mod.
Haggle, Seduction, Intimidate and Inspection are the dump feats. Of Toreador Disciplines, Presence is probably the dud. Currently on my first Gangrel playthrough.
After always playing blood mages and talkers and shit I wanted to try a "punch everything" playthrough and frankly, it's fricking fun.
It's easy to not miss lost XP when you don't need to spec into shit like talking, reading and all that nerd gabagool.
Still did the Elizabeth Dane without bloodshed, but I think I won't be able to do that in the museum, but frick the Prince. He dominated me into Grout's mansion, that french homosexual.
you don't need intimidation
put at least one point into firearms and gradually level it so when you get a finally get a decent gun in downtown you're good to go full neo.
How do you anons feel about the X20 mod? Does it go overboard with the new refrences?
Almost all of the mods can be found on Moddb. I would recommend trying out the Prelude mini-campaign or one of the many mods that replace the default clans, like The Final Nights
>everyone else tries to get him to talk >he ignores them completely or refuses >Christof tries >Dev/Null recovers all his sanity instantly
His sire probably embraced him to say that specific line and nothing else
>guys it's Le halloween season! let's have a group play for our reddit tier horror themed games!!!
kys redditor, i play horror games whenever i feel like
>Admitting to being a v*mpire
Nice job homosexual, I got a Second Inquisition assault squad tracing your location right now pal. Enjoy the sewer you live in being filled with white phosphorus
I'd probably hang with Noseferatu but I wouldn't want to be one. Not cause of just being ugly and having to hide away like I already do but the chances of being horribly crippled and or so deformed my life expectancy is significantly lower than other vampires is just too big of a dealbreaker. I'd rather be a Tzimisce and make them pretty for a day so they can get an easy embrace.
Jack seems more like a Brujah tbh, and Garland is him masquerading(heh) as a particularly violent Ventrue
Warrior Of Light is some larping human with True Faith
like pathfinder, DnD, and more, the license-holders submission to rabbis has ruined the ip from the glory everyone remembers from decades ago, so any videogame adapted from the new aids will have none of the qualities which charmed old fans.
Nothing with content anywhere close to the main game obviously, but clan quest mod is considered to add the best fan content. Imo you're better off doing a vanilla game roleplay very different from what you've done before (e.g. low humanity with a clan you haven't played) than go for mods. Or just don't replay the game until you get a craving again.
there is a way to cheat the quest you do something like jump on the roof a building (i dont know if its the one there guy is in) and because of the way the game works no zombies spawn
You just have to shimmy along the ledge where the wall on the upper gate is into the very furthest corner of the graveyard and nothing will spawn.
I will say without shame that I did this because frick that quest.
I still dont get celerity, do I get faster the more I upgrade or does the world just get slower, is super speed a thing in this game
Obviously you get faster, as evidenced by the matrix style bullet paths.
Not good and definitely not stable.
Also even the biggest meat of it new clans is poorly balanced or don't work right.
For example Lasombra. Outside of Obtenebration 4 (+5 to all soak and when you get close to other npcs they get knocked away all the time with a good damage, like you hit them with a melee combo, and you yourself can attack normally during that. 15 seconds, very strong.) the other Obtenebration powers don't work properly or just bad.
Serpentis 3 from Set clan is even stronger where you turn into snake.
Tzimisce's and Old Tzimisce's clan weaknesses are moronic and annoying - you have to sleep at your haven in the coffin frequently or you will start losing health from time to time. Similar stuff with Nagaraja where you have to feed but the penalty strikes even faster.
That's on top of buggy shit and very questionable design choices everywhere ofc.
I haven't even played it once because of all the conflicting shit I hear about what you need to do in order to play it without it shitting the bed. One person says download this mod, another person says to download that one. Its the only game I just gave up trying to play. Maybe that's changed now? Is there some kind of download that has just the necessary mods I need? I hear the game is literally unplayable without certain mods. As in you cant actually play/complete it
you use unofficial path
basic: just fixes
plus: extra fanfic stuff if you want
the end
hell the gog version is prepatched with up basic and you can just start playing. the only thing i really had to go out of the way for was using a reshade to force anti aliasing.
>Is there some kind of download that has just the necessary mods I need?
Yeah just pirate the gog version, it has the mod you're talking about pre-installed, install and play
The original game version 1.0 was playable until the end of act 3 and then it crashed. On 32bit systems (Windows XP and below).
An official patch, 1.2 was made on release to fix this. It's included in the steam version. However the game doesn't work on 64bit systems (Vista, 7, 8.1, 10, 11)
So you need a patch, any patch to make it run: Wesp (Basic or Plus), True Patch, etc.
>go to bed >vtm thread is made
At least there's gonna be stuff to read, thanks.
The New hub in East La in CQM made me feel like pic related, which was an amazing feeling since I now know the cities almost perfectly. Whoever did evil piece of shit Vercetti did an amazing va job. The willing hooker in LA was new, and I got spooked before I got heroic.
why the frick do we constantly have threads of this piece of shit game and they always hit bump limit? frick off. the game isn't that good, make way for NEW games that haven't been discussed to death. thanks.
Grout's mansion is really interesting since you could argue that he was either murdered or managed to stage his death. Grout tried to negotiate with Xiao Ming as an 'faustian bargain' or at least use her against Lacroix whose ambitions he was wary of, not knowing that she was already in cahoots with Lacroix. She paralyzes him with a stake since she has limited information on combating vampires and is only going on folklore (which one sees at the Fu Syndicate), this does not kill Grout so she cuffs him while trying to find a way to kill him before managing through brute force. Grunfeld shows up because Lacroix likely leaked Grout's location, which fits Lacroix's MO of using other people for his agenda, where he could easily predict how Grunfeld would act given their history together. Leaking information to Grunfeld would be to ascertain Grout's death and to sweep away any evidence that would implicate Lacroix.
The way you could interpret that Grout survived the whole ordeal is if you accept him as the writer of all cryptic emails. Grout would in this event have predicted that Ming would try to kill him given his prophetic insight, and therefore would have planted a vampire corpse or stand-in to get killed by Ming. However, he would have failed to predict that Grunfeld would show up and burn the mansion as Grout's wife was paramount to him. You could argue that the faustian bargain would have meant Grunfeld instead of Ming, but that would be unlikely since Ming fits a devlish (faustian) character better than the zealot Grundfeld. Grout was a man of rationality and would likely not engage in politics with someone he thought could not be convinced or satisfied.
But it all comes down to the writer of the emails. So who was it? Cain, Grout, or someone else?
Good post. I only became aware of the checkerboard floors now which is very blatant now. But it feels off that Grout would willingly sacrifice his wife when he had her preserved for so long and even as a vampire which screams attachment issues. Also I think it is hilarious that the game has so many journals where characters narrate their last moments in real time, so the hypothesis with the chronologically placed gramophones is kinda doubtful as those types of narratively driven audiologs were standard in games
Damn good game that manages to have these discussions 20 years after launch.
We never fully get to examine the wife. She's encased in a glass jar. It could have been a fake.
With the duality nature of the mansion, he likely had a fake one ready for the fire he knew would happen, so he could escape with the real one.
Ngl, i feel like Fat Larry would be the most accepting human to finding out the MC is a vampire
I mean, you only appear at night, carry a small army's worth of weapons for no reason, entered a parking lot full of gangster and came out with a double digit kill count, and somehow got the russian mafia to back off from his friend's club, either by killing a frickton of their people alone, or somehow intimidating their leader
It's kinda fricking obvious that you aren't a normal human.
What makes you say that? Are you just assuming it must be restored content? The plus patch adds in a lot of custom content that someone just wanted to add, it's not all cut content. I checked the game files and didn't find anything like that between Fat Larry and Venus.

It's right in the first paragraph that it's a *restoration*
I also played the old patches before the author started really *adding* crazy shit themselves and just restored and moved stuff in the plus patches. Those Emails are restored content, they just moved the ones that didn't make sense with the change to Venus not being a ghoul in the final version.
Meh, the game got 4 runs out of me altogether. Saved Malkavian for my last run in 2019. I don't think I've got in me to touch this again within the next 20 years.
Gangrel have the weakest identity of all the clans. It's hard to make a good Gangrel who doesn't have some significant thematic overlap with at least one other clan.
I like the idea of Gangrels, they just need a more consistent and evocative theme than "smelly loners who can talk to animals." People need to have an iconic archetype spring immediately to mind when they think of the clan. The Viking Gangrels in the Dark Ages who masqueraded as minor gods and ran a loosely organized cult based on Norse mythology until Christianity wrecked their operation were a step in the right direction. They should mix in some creepy occult stuff with the nature stuff and be a little more organized. The monster from The Ritual would have made a good Gangrel methuselah; a chimerical abomination that captures hikers and forces them to worship it while draining their lifeforce until they are reduced to a lethargic semi-undead state.
I haven't played the game so I have no idea about whoever you posted but I rather like it when vamps aren't just caricatures of their clan stereotype. Like Therese; without Jenette you'd never guess she was a Malk. Most would think she was a Venture with her professional attitude and business savvy.
How heavy in consequences would you say this game is?
I know you can miss the Apartment in Downtown if you frick up the Dane's Quest or you be a meanie to the Prince.
Probably because her most compelling character trait is her breasts. >Hello, I run a club >I fricked a guy so he'd buy it for me >I don't want to keep fricking him >Make him go away >Thanks, here's a tiny bit of money after every main quest I guess
She's hot but really not charismatic, at least compared to other npcs
>first time playing >decided to let the game choose my clan/stats based on questions, wanted to be immersed >didn't look up any other disciplines etc >got brujah >10 hours in and I look up how fricking cool the other disciplines are, mind control and summoning etc >start to regret my choice, too far in to turn back
frick man
vtmb is a highly, HIGHLY, replayable game anon. don't sweat it, you'll eventually play all the clans and skills. just enjoy the rp because on each playthrough its really good.
>decided to let the game choose my clan/stats based on questions, wanted to be immersed
i did that too and got malk
and i do not recommend it for a first playthrough
Malks are schizophrenic lunatics
A lot of your dialogue options are goofy, nonsensical, or just straight up spoil the plot because your character knows more than you but is also too fricked in the head to act on it
As a pure roleplaying experience Malk is better on second playthroughs, the entire point is that although they are insane they can STILL see the future so they have a vague idea what's gonna happen. What's the point of role-playing a Malk that doesn't even know what they are saying? The entire point of The previous Primogen was killed was because his future sight revealed too much and led to his death. Nos is honestly fine but I think it's better for new players to experience the overworld as a whole without much unnecessary pushback from cops and such. You can play whatever you want though, I ain't your mom
Wouldn't the best part of playing as malkavian being when you finallly figure out what that insane bullshit you were saying meant all along and go 'OOOOH'
Not really, if you want to have those big reveals just play any other class and talk to the thin-blood that can see the future at the beach that makes for a better reveal to the cryptic shit she says. I still think Malk is better on a second playthrough, on my first I played Toreador so I recommend it. In the end though you don't actually have to care about what anyone tells you regarding which class to play
>Cammy Brujah that gets really agressive whenever someone insults LaCroix >Anarch Ventrue that still acts like a major butthole
Is there anything better?
Yeah Chinatown ain't that hard
Ming Xiao's temple is just tedious, and Ming Xiao herself is fricking terribly designed
Also Kuei Jin are just kinda dumb in general so thats a point against it too
>spoils the plot a lot
You won't really be able to spoil yourself if you play malk on the first playthrough. The dialogue is too cryptic to properly decipher without already knowing the context
Granted, but that requires knowing what Janus is. It's also a minor spoiler in the grand scheme of things

When Jeanette and Therese figure out what you mean when calling them daughter of Janus, is that them acknowledging that you can see through their secret, or are they fully deluded into thinking they are different people and just believe you are referring to them being twins?
Museum as Gangrel was an absolute joke, especially after I found out that it's an absolute joke for anyone, because you get the extra xp for not killing anyone, and it LITERALLY DOES NOT MATTER HOW MANY ALARMS YOU RAISE AND HOW MANY DUDES ARE ON YOUR ASS.
I literally just ran through, smashed some glass, grabbed everything and talked to Beckett.
No masquerade violation, no dialogue from LaCroix, nothing.
Since I am playing with UP+, I am wondering if that is one of the Plus changes or whether it has always been like that.
>mfw I ignored all the morons on here and played Malk on my first playthrough.
In any case, the best way to play the game is a max-Celerity Max Payne Toreador.
Ok fine, I'll spoonfeed you even though you're the type of moron to unironically say "redpill" to try to fit in instead of just asking like a normal person since it's Halloween season.
>Is it Skyrim but in a big city where you are a vampire?
It's like Skyrim in that it's a (mostly) first person RPG, but there aren't really many similarities beyond very surface level features like that. It's not an open world, the game is divided up into different hub levels across LA. >Is the story good or people like it for builds/sandbox?
The main draws are the writing and atmosphere. It's not really a sandbox kind of game. >First run with or without mods?
All you need is the unofficial patch. The GOG copy comes with it preinstalled.
You'd already have all the info you need if you lurked moar, moron. The question of what mods are needed for a vanilla playthrough has already been answered multiple times in this very thread
Don't trash the beast. Frenzied on my first playthrough as a Toreador and beat that fricking Plaguebearer in the zombie mansion, I would've lost otherwise.
It's a neat little timewaster but being all combat means it's really not that replayable.
Most of the difficulty comes from being way too used to being a tanky vampire. Buy the armor from the dude in the basement and make sure you've got faith shield at 5. Spec mostly guns and take it slow, pick off the enemies one at a time if you can. Actually use cover.
>Chinese food in the background
Wait a second... OH SHI-
I wanna replay the game (already played it once with the Plus patch awhile ago) but if I want a mostly-vanilla experience, do I install the latest basic patch or an earlier version?
The latest basic patch is good enough for a mostly-vanilla experience, while the Standard Mod Patch exists for purists
I wanna replay the game (already played it once with the Plus patch awhile ago) but if I want a mostly-vanilla experience, do I install the latest basic patch or an earlier version?
Lasombra hate ghouls but can't do much without them. Especially in modern times, where there are five cameras sticking out of every hole and a walking anomaly that appears on all of them would get investigated real quick and then the Lasombra would have some heavily armed glowie boys breaking down the door of their haven in broad daylight.
Need an income? Ghouls.
Need networking? Ghouls.
Need a fixer? Ghouls.
Need to do shady shit like hiding a body? Ghouls.
Being a shadowBlack person in the 21st century is suffering, unless you live in some 3rd world hellhole (which is the case for most of the Sabbat).
Alright, i'm gonna play this game at last, what's the best clan for a first time? Malkavian seems the most fun, but i hear it's not a good choice for a first timer since you're basically just a completely insane moron constantly spouting schizobabble.
Because like half the posts in every single vtmb thread are newbies asking the exact same question, and coming in right before bump limit and asking that question is really dumb fricking moronic.
Capisce?
was right. Vtmb threads near the bump limit are all just noobs not reading the thread, asking the same fricking questions.
Play whatever the frick you want. Nobody cares. Just frick off already and start the game.
Tremere or a Toreador for a newbie. Nosferatu and Malkavian are fun, but in Malkavian's case you might get confused about what the frick is going on in the story and Nosferatu kinda forces unusual gameplay.
I was thinking toreador, but then reading the archives you have a lot of people saying that you can only enjoy malkavian if you play the first time as them since you won't know what the frick you're talking about
Not really. Playing a Malkavian is IMO better the second time, because 90% of Malkavian's dialogue is foreshadowing and now you have the comfort of hindsight. So, it's funnier the second time around, when you can see how the Malkavian PC knows exactly what's going on even before the plot point happens.
The opposite is true. First time as malk is a fricking terrible idea, you will have no idea what's going on and shit will get spoiled for you.
Malk is for later playthroughs so you can actually get all the references and in-jokes.
I swear, every noob always seems to gravitate to malks despite everyone telling them it's a bad idea, then inevitably drops the game because they're clueless.
>First time as malk is a fricking terrible idea, you will have no idea what's going on and shit will get spoiled for you.
You fricking anti-Malk posters are so low IQ. I played Malk first time and sure some bits were a bit of a head scratcher but I had an absolute blast and followed the story just fine. You underestimate people's ability to just roll with the madness of the Malk
>you might get confused about what the frick is going on
That's the whole point. And you can't be confused if you already know the plot so saving malkavian for a second play through is worthless.
Why yes I toggled noclip to pretend I used my vampire super strength and agility to climb over the wall and the hill between one gate to the other, didn't you?
>you are driving at night through some bumfrick nowhere forest >wtf, a hitchiker? >whatever, you pick her up >she sits in the back of your car >she's definitely a looker, but her clothes are dirty and she reeks of copper and wet dog >takes one of your beers when you offer but doesn't drink it >you didn't hear her move, but suddenly she's in the front seat of the car, right next to you >she's staring at you strangely and you notice that her pupils are vertical
Wat do?
How is the thread gonna reach the bump limit without talking about the best kindred or even the amazing soundtrack of the game. The only ones I prefer to be Childe of is either Beckett or Strauss, everyone else is extremely untrustworthy
Beckett is the only person in the game who doesn't try to use you for his own ends, so that's a point in his favor. Strauss, just like everyone, makes you do his dirty work and only gets honest when his own skin is on the line.
Honestly the only reason I'm sort of okay with Strauss is cause he seems to at least care about order or structure, even if my irl politics lean more with Anarchs I genuinely don't trust them to be responsible. Downtown a city in which they have the majority rule ended up being stricken with a plague, which is NOT a good look at all. So even the cammarilla is a bit of a shitty hierarchy at least within the Tremere there's some semblance of safety as they care about their own blood
I always saw the Downtown Tremere chantry as being just as incompetent and blind as the Anarchs when it came to that Plaguebearer. The Plaguebearer's HQ was literally across the street from the chantry and it ain't like the Tremere didn't care about it given that Strauss sees it as just as big a problem as the Anarchs do.
Eh, there's some space-frickery going on there. Wouldn't be surprised if whatever's going on there prevented the PC from being able to see all of it so there might be others out of sight.
Ngl i'd trust a Ventrue over a Brujah
They're actually somewhat intelligent in how they do business
And at least i know that when the Ventrue does decide to frick me over, they won't frick it up and ruin it like morons(unless they're LaCroix)
Vtmb Strauss is not as bad as your usual high ranking Tremere in Vtm. >drinking the blood of the seven is essential for Tremere, the blood bound slavery process >nothing like that happens in the game
Most likely you will be blood bonded once the whole sarcophagus shit is done. Having a Tremere, even a neonate, running around without being someone's b***h is tantamount to a rampant fungal crotch infection for the entire Pyramid. Or was, at the very least, since the Pyramid no longer exists.
>Strauss is not as bad as your usual high ranking Tremere
Because he's a good manipulator and very charismatic, a running theme with the game's characters. The blood bond thing doesn't happen to the PC in-game because the PC was embraced outside the pyramid and thus outside its jurisdiction for the time being.
>treats you like a massive moron baby >thinks you're impatient and stupid >is the only trustworthy kindred you meet
Beckett basically takes the role of Sire for a Gangrel MC
Compared to how Gangrel actually treat their childer, Beckett is a paragon of empathy and politeness. >treats you like a massive moron baby
But that's what you are. Always a pawn in someone else's scheme.
You make a convincing argument
More news about Bloodlines 2 is dropping in two days. What are you Anons hoping for and what do you expect to see? If Lasombra are gonna be playable, I hope they are shown off first
I hope they keep focusing on politics rather than le epic vampire superpowers
Playable Tzimisce.
God yes. Unfortunately, I recently learned that V5 Tzimisce no longer have Vicissitude. Instead, they use Dominate and Protean to make people-chairs and stuff.
>31. Redemption
Are they hinting at a remaster of VTM Redemption? Would anyone be even interested in it though?
>there are anons who wouldn't save the tsundere redhead
Whoever made that image is bullshitting. Histories were cut content. You can't pick them unless you mess around with the .ini files. Anyone who wants a more vanilla experience should go with the Simple Mod Patch instead.
Damsel is hot as frick but every time she starts talking i just want to beat the shit out of her
We need a damsel wojak, anyone on the soijakparty website can deliver?
That's what makes her the best
>What are you Anons hoping for
Pyramid/House of Tremere loyalist Elder path for Tremere PC where I become the Regent for the local chantry
>and what do you expect to see?
hunting Carna arthoe wiccan witch bawds for giving up secrets, or better yet, force them into blood bound service
That it gets cancelled.
Some basic info on the games conflict
Also, day 31 has my panties up in a twist. Imagine Christof coming back
Salubros trust the PLAN we will be in as a playable clan
Warrior-sama you need to let it go our clan is dead...
>What are you Anons hoping for and what do you expect to see?
unless it plays like the vtmb (it wont) then whatever they show is worthless.
?!
I was braced for how pozzed 2 would be but the demo they showed looked decent save for the greenhaired chick. In this dark world of Larry Fink, I have 0 hope that it will be a good videogame instead of indoctrination for shabbos goys.
>hoping for
Good game
>expecting
Black folk and gays
racist AND homophobic, wow
almost a complete chud package
They will sneak in climate change.
don't care, it will be pile of shit.
I expect fricking nothing.
If the can hit the bar of salvaging the wreck that they started with I will set further expectation, until then I'm just going to assume it'll be steamy dogshit.
>What are you Anons hoping for and what do you expect to see?
Im hoping they give up on the project so they wont rape the franchise
Too late, it raped itself.
I'm hoping to see a game I'm excited to play and that looks like a shiny new adventure in this universe that I could spend a hundred hours in. I'm expecting a game that has no idea what people liked about the original and purposefully tries to be different in every way out of spite. Hopefully I'm wrong though as I haven't actually looked at anything about the game
only two things I want: BIG malk milkers (malkers?)
>Bloodlines news contained to a single day
This is.... not quite what I expected.
I don't really like any of the clans outside the malkavian schizos and the Assamite gigachads, and the latter won't be playable.
Welcome to my world. I really like the Tzimisce, but the hell is going to freeze before they are playable in anything.
I just started a Malkavian playthrough
I'm thinking about trying the latest clan quest mod, I think I've played an earlier version and wasn't blown away bu the added content.
Which clan has the most unique new content?
Also is joining the sabbat worth it?
is this screenshot with any mods? don't remember the game looking that good. maybe it's just that it's a 4k screenshot
it's probably just a reshade
Only forced some HBAO+
damn that looks good. im on ayymd but could probably do this with a reshade. does it have any bugs with the weather, etc.?
There's some bleeding with the UI but nothing major
Nah, I have amd gpu and cpu and everything works fine.
Probably yeah
And STALKER
And Eternal Darkness
Already did that in september
The fact this's still one of the best rpgs ever made speaks as much to the stagnation and decline of the industry as to its' quality.
Agreed, but just a quick note. you write "its" when you want to describe ownership. VTMB is greater than the sum of its parts
i just finished the initial quest for the big tiddy schizo and the sexpot blew her brains out so i think i messed that one up, but i'm gonna press forward in between starfield sessions
>camera motion is fricked on new hardware
>if you want to play it you need to either play in third person and deal with the frickery of the engine or else dig out your 15 year old laptop
kino
works flawless on my 4090 machine.
What did you do? My i913th gen and 4090 with 128GB RAM causes the camera to spaz unless I put it in a VM of Windows 7 with maybe 10% of resources at most
the camera sway and headbob that's built in to the exe and can't be disabled, it's too frickedo n new hardware due to the power.
Nothing, i just installed the unofficial patch and it just werks
Even at locked 30/60fps?
>camera motion is fricked on new hardware
wdym?
nah the games a broke pile of moldy shit. id rather replay quake 4
No.
velour these nuts
God I want her to step on my balls so bad!
Okay, Ganker, these three hot babes are all in danger and only YOU can help them. There is only enough time to save one meaning that the other two will die, BUT whoever you pick will be eternally loyal to you and love you forever (and will become a vampire of the same generation if you want to). Whom do you choose?
Heather
no contest
>Heather
this
heather, the other two can defend themselves
I'd cherish and cuddle and protect. Never met any girl that wanted any of the above unless she was under 5/10 and poor
Heather > Yukie
Damsel can die
Doesn't velvet have celerity?
Yukie. Heather is dead weight.
Yukie as vampire would be scary but to be fair most of socialite vampires are dead weight when the first sabbat packs of crusade come roaming around.
Mi coke head ginger GF.
I embrace the cool anime goddess ofc
>nani?
Cute Yuki
She's too smug.
>Green eyed asian
WE GOT SOME BIIIIIG TROUBLE
IN LITTLE CHIIINAAAA
I'm saving Heather everytime, did you see her goth outfit? Absolutely stunning
All Heathers are great
I should replay this, but I don't remember what mods are mandatory to make it work
isn't the gog pack enough?
GOG pack has outdated unofficial patch+ version, recommend you'd just buy the steam version and apply the latest unofficial patch+ to it.
yes but do i start a new game or finish the playthrough i started last year
Thoughts on Lasombra?
They were mentioned in Vtmb, I'm not familiar with tabletop and other shit.
They're Ventrue of Sabbat.
Thanks.
So the guy throwing cars at you was Lasombra?
Nah, when you enter the house to get to the scrap yard, you will see a guy in a black suit who'll disappear after a short while, that's lasombra.
Got it, I remember. Also just watched the UP+ Lasombra quest.
Nah, when you enter the house to get to the scrap yard, you will see a guy in a black suit who'll disappear after a short while, that's the lasombra.
>And you will do it with no unofficial patches
>shows unofficial patch
TopKek
Yeah dumbass, its to show how much Unofficial patch deviates from Troika's game.
Okay, so?, they're both unofficial patches you fat moron, none of them are the original.
Also, here's a challenge, what's bad about these changes?, they literally add cut good shit into the game, so what's bad about them?
>its to show how much Unofficial patch deviates from Troika's game
Except it doesn't actually show a vanilla version of the game, you disingenuous c**t. See:
and
Lasombra are aggressive social darwinists who get access to a unique shadow-bending discipline. They also tend to be deeply spiritual, feel a strong connection to the sea and/or develop a fascination with the Abyss (an otherworldly realm where eldritch horrors reside)
You get to fight one if you have the plus patch and meet one in the junkyard if you do the southland slasher quest (vanilla)
Should I play this or kotor? The only wrpg I have played to cvmpletion is fallout new vegas
KOTOR. VTMB is jank and might turn you off.
Which is the better game that I should play then, kotor or vtmb?
vtmb is god tier but kotor is pretty good i guess
kotor 2 is way better than 1 though
play vtmb
Play both? They're both good games and not that long
you should play both then play kotor2
VTMB. KOTOR is jank and might turn you off.
I played VTMB first and recently bought KOTOR, literally just play both but which to start with all depends on how much interest you have in the source material. If you're a massive star wars nerd then you already have your answer
Why the frick would I want to play a stinky zombie that need blood to live and avoid sunlight?
if you are high humanity(9-10) you are "undead" by name only
a high humanity can with some work digest food even watch the sun in the shadow, hell even the werewolves don't touch you anymore
I like high humanity vampires
>even watch the sun in the shadow
Wouldn't you have to have a direct line to the sun if you were able to watch it?
No?
What do you think happens when you look at something, anon?
It gets uncomfortable and leaves
high humanity vamps can do it,they don't even need "blush of life aka appear like human who can eat and drink stuff power" because it's always on
Perks for being a literal saint
>"playing" vtm Night Road
>keep restarting chapter 1 to see what each choice gives and how it affects me storywise
I really don't know what to pick
What's the best clan for Night Road? banu Haqim?
i picked brujah for my ryan gosling character
Game sucks anyway, author expects you to love his obnoxious GMPC
Who? Julian?
And you will do with with no unofficial patches installed.
>they change the game... FOR BETTER? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Also, 3 first dialogue choices with jak get the same response
They're both unofficial patch you idiot
Vanilla and early UP versions had a streched hud from 4:3 resolutions since there were no 16:9 icons present.
What is on the right is somewhere above version 8 of the UP
The one on the right uses the updated .dll engine files, that's is. Content wise and everything else on the right is VANILLA.
1.2 is an OFFICIAL patch by TROIKA, moron.
Nothing of what you see in his patches was ever a part of TROIKA's plans.
right is better by every metric thougheveralbeitevermore
I don't get this image
>multiple screenshots of literally a tutorial area, you spend at the absolute worst 5 minutes here, once, or you just skip it entirely
>pics on the right are not even worse, just a slightly different environment, everything else is the same
How can you possibly jump to
>Unofficial Patch + is bad
conclusion from it? What.
Anon, we're on Ganker, didn't you realize it's full of morons when you first entered here?
Also sauce?
In theory I could possibly understand the minor complaint about new Histories. If they were extremely bad, unbalanced, full of gay propaganda shit etc. Which is not the case.
So yeah I really don't understand this image at all. It even plays the same and it's a tutorial...that just looks a bit different in a few places...
>source
Idk just an old pic I saved. Quick google told me it was related to Witcher.
But it's so minor and insignificant that it looks like a bait. If there were multiple, much bigger examples of such stuff - sure.
You have (one) homosexual history
that's about it, and yeah l found the original image so nevermind.
And removed other histories that were there in the original.
>Also sauce?
Young Dryad card art from Gwent
Indicative of all the dumb changes wesp5 did for his bad mod.
Also what is shown on the left is the BASIC unofficial patch, not the Plus version.
>Indicative of all the dumb changes wesp5 did for his bad mod.
Describe some other then slight changes to the first fricking area.
Most items have changed stats.
Who cares ffs. I've been playing this game for almost two decades now and i don't care about weapon stats. All i know is starting pistol sucks and you don't need high social checks unless you roleplay. Seriously, are you such a nerd that item stats is what this game is about for you?
That's one among many things.
He added gayshit when it wasn't there
He changed the game levels for no reason
You don't know this but he even changed where you find items like important artifacts.
Nothing wrong with trying out Wesp5's mod after you finish the game. But don't pretend it's a small patch, even the basic version changes shit.
One way to go for the truest vanilla experience.
Btter than UP for sure, not as good as just plain vanilla with the updated .dll engine files.
>play redemption
>game is almost purely combat
>combat is terrible
You can read my mind?
You can't?
give me a really OP build
Brujah, invest into celerity and firearms and become vampire Max Payne, really op and the ""the nosferatu sewer section doesn't have a significant difficulty bump whatsoever""
Toreador is probably better for a firearm build due to Auspex
Tremere.
Not Plus Patch Ventrue with Dominate.
Tremere
Blood Armor + Firearms
It's just Rambo 3.
Tanktrue. Fortitude + Presence and high combat defense. Can do guns, blades, or even brawl if you want. Even Ming-Xiao will struggle to do much more than tickle you.
I found the sewers to be a huge difficulty spike for my sauve toreador
you just use celerity and a gun and you frick shit up as toreador
Honestly dont remember. But also remember youre kind of chilling in santa monica and down town and then you go to the snuff film house and insane mutants
how? the colt anaconda on alternate firing mode wrecks everything in the game
Ssethcore games are meant to be watched, not played.
is there any list that shows what stats are needed to complete each mission the optimal way?
I only know about this
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qvc_8glYgPpqsJQ21Hg0VsJ0QijslgHNN8ldjDuuSzU
After arriving in Hollywood use your hopefully large pool of XP to spec into combat of your choice.
>remember that Hacking + Lockpicking can also be buffed by Bloodbuff
Bloodbuff improves your Lockpicking, but not Hacking. For that, you need Auspex.
Do you guys tweak the game or just play vanilla?
Vanilla of course, I dont trust modders to not insert their OC and cut content is usually cut for a good reason.
I tried vanilla and was enjoying it but as soon as I got into the sewers it was too dark I couldnt see anything
the sewers are quite bright, what do you mean? upload a pic or something
there are Black folk in the sewers he thought to himself.
you might want to try clan quest mod if you're really starved for some different content, but vanilla is by far the best quality-wise
>surely~
I got filtered by ming-xiao
i will never finish this game
Just shoot her with the steyr aug.
Weird way to spell Python, but even cheating is ok for this piece of shit worst bossfight of the decade.
>mfw seeing Christof Romuald again in VTMB2
why does general lee cause leftoids to seethe so hard?
Leftists don't think they just have Pavlovian responses to stimuli.
The South is evil because... ITS JUST IS OKAY?!
>state rights
You mean the rights to keep slaves for picking cotton? That's true.
Funny how you proved that other anon who said that you morons don't think, just respond to stimuli as conditioned 100% correct. Your brain just shut off the moment you read "states' rights" and you rushed to post your ebin "huehuehue rights to what lol" like a programmed NPC.
>Tremere are cool
>but they're also FRICKING SLAVES to the Pyramid
Ehhhh
Plus patch or basic?
Plus if you're not a sissy b***h.
basic unless you want to play some modder's fan fiction
If you have never ever played the game before, then Basic.
>but muh sewers
Everyone should do them at least once, the lore with all the sewer workers vanishing for like 50 years is neat.
After you have finished the game at least once, then do plus, so you can actually notice all the differences and see if you think all the fanfic stuff is neat or dumb.
I've just finished my first playthrough on 11.4 (i think) patch. Which parts are most fanfic-y?
Neither. Go with this if you want the most stable, vanilla-like experience: https://www.nexusmods.com/vampirebloodlines/mods/197
Intimidation is a waste of points. You're better off putting them in Brawl or Subterfuge, at least those help with feeding
Anything I shouldn't put into?
intimidate and seduction are overall less useful than persuasion so only spec into those if you want some flavor
toreador without seduction is gay.
you are toreador so I would recommend gun build so no str/presence IIRC finance is useless too but its while since I played
Finance is shit, you get en9ugh money to never really need lower prices
Haggle and Intimidate are useless.
Seduction is only useful if you are female but even then Persuasion is always better.
>Toreador
>shouldn't put into
But actually as a fem Tor Seduction has more uses but still whatever compared to Persuasion.
>toreador woman
no need for intimidation or any sort of stealth since you'll be gunning everything down and seduction with a woman is fun.
Don't put any points into Presence unless you plan on doing a melee playthrough. Even with Wesp restoring the ability to use it in dialogue, it still isn't worth th XP cost
>Why do you moron assume the theater is inside the LA hub when it isn't?
You can go back to the same exact theater for a sidequest you dumbfrick
Haggle, Seduction, Intimidate and Inspection are the dump feats. Of Toreador Disciplines, Presence is probably the dud. Also, pick a form of combat (Guns or Melee) and focus on it; Toreador lean towards firearms thanks to Auspex, but Celerity is good for either; you need to be ready for fighting for several quests and the endgame. Never buy Humanity.
I do think Plus has some good stuff that was actual Troika-intended material reinserted; but get 7.5-8.0, because after that it absolutely became his weird fanfic.
a single point in brawl never hurt anyone
rudi
Currently on my first Gangrel playthrough.
After always playing blood mages and talkers and shit I wanted to try a "punch everything" playthrough and frankly, it's fricking fun.
It's easy to not miss lost XP when you don't need to spec into shit like talking, reading and all that nerd gabagool.
Still did the Elizabeth Dane without bloodshed, but I think I won't be able to do that in the museum, but frick the Prince. He dominated me into Grout's mansion, that french homosexual.
GRR FRICKING CAMMIES I HATE EM
cautiously excited for VTMB2 news.
does this look alright?
don't skip the intro unless you've played the game before
Yes and now go play the fricking game and stop trying to minmax for your very first playthrough, homosexual. And do the tutorial.
>intimidation 2
Just 2 into dodge, homie.
you don't need intimidation
put at least one point into firearms and gradually level it so when you get a finally get a decent gun in downtown you're good to go full neo.
Dont fricking go toreador, your youll be like this "dude"
Malkavians that think they are some other clan never gets old.
More like finish it, I got halfway through china town and haven't touched it since.
Is there a pre-patched version with new content? I'm kinda played out on vanilla.
How do you anons feel about the X20 mod? Does it go overboard with the new refrences?
Almost all of the mods can be found on Moddb. I would recommend trying out the Prelude mini-campaign or one of the many mods that replace the default clans, like The Final Nights
>christof will never redeem you
only good part of bw2
Dev/Null was great
>everyone else tries to get him to talk
>he ignores them completely or refuses
>Christof tries
>Dev/Null recovers all his sanity instantly
His sire probably embraced him to say that specific line and nothing else
>guys it's Le halloween season! let's have a group play for our reddit tier horror themed games!!!
kys redditor, i play horror games whenever i feel like
You're right, anon. Other months are a israeli conspiracy meant to keep gentiles in line. There is only one month: October, and it lasts 365 days.
spooktober has been a thing for far longer than you have been posting here, homosexual
>I say what other people are saying but I put reddit in the sentence so I feel superior
>No grumpy brujah gf
pain.
must've been embraced when she was PMSing
I've been playing Redemption for the last couple of days and just beat it today. What a fun, if easy, game.
If you're not a fricking nosferatu, GTFO this thread, now!
Make me, sewer rat.
you're not bad, at least not a fricking toreador or a fricking tremere
Who is the most powerful clan in the world anyways? Ventrue?
probably
Discounting magical bullshit/hiveminds/elders:ventrue
Including it:Tzim or Malkavians.
But if you discount that
What test is this?
https://www.paradoxinteractive.com/games/world-of-darkness/discover-world-of-darkness/vampire-the-masquerade
>Admitting to being a v*mpire
Nice job homosexual, I got a Second Inquisition assault squad tracing your location right now pal. Enjoy the sewer you live in being filled with white phosphorus
go frick a rat, ugly
B-but I came to your warrens t-to ask if you if you learned a-about golconda in your isolation...
Jack Garland would be a Gangrel, right?
Jack seems more like a Brujah tbh, and Garland is him masquerading(heh) as a particularly violent Ventrue
Warrior Of Light is some larping human with True Faith
I DON'T GIVE A FRICK WHAT CLAN YOU ARE
Yup, sounds like a Brujah
What would Jack's party be? Ghouls? Or from other clans?
like pathfinder, DnD, and more, the license-holders submission to rabbis has ruined the ip from the glory everyone remembers from decades ago, so any videogame adapted from the new aids will have none of the qualities which charmed old fans.
Jews destroy everything they touch with their pathological hatred
Hey the Demiurge Spawn can't help themselves.
balthazar is so badass
>no one posted yet
>one new quest per clan
Wow it's nothing I guess? I'll bite. For example, what is the Brujah quest like and how long it is?
Clan quest mod doesn't start until downtown (small shit) and only really opens in Hollywood. So have fun replaying the "old" half of the game lol
>beginning
>hotel
>hollywood
>get more content
>aaaand we're in the sewers followed closely behind by the skyscraper
Frick
You can skip most of the sewers by claiming you'll help Andrei kill Nosferatu and then just refuse to kill the Nosferatu.
I just want a fresh Bloodlines experience. Are there any actually good mods?
Nothing with content anywhere close to the main game obviously, but clan quest mod is considered to add the best fan content. Imo you're better off doing a vanilla game roleplay very different from what you've done before (e.g. low humanity with a clan you haven't played) than go for mods. Or just don't replay the game until you get a craving again.
I do have the graving. Guess I'm going for a gangrel run, found them always kinda boring so during all these years, I've never given them a chance
>Unofficial patch is still getting weekly updates
That dedication, tho
Is the plus patch any good or should I just stick with the base patch again?
base patch but it's worth playing plus patch once imo, for the "what could have been" factor of the restored content
Is there a legit way to beat the graveyard zombie quest if you don't have super speed?
gun
Think it's possible with ranged, but not with melee. You can always use the mausoleum bug to complete it though
Also I should have mentioned it should be by actually defending the cemetery and not just skipping the quest
Is it true the HP for the gates is randomized for each attempt?
I beat it easily as a tremere just using guns, but only stayed by one gate. I wonder if it glitched or something.
I just did it as a Nossie with an axe and it was easy. I'm not sure if the unofficial patch makes it easier or not.
do you mean the quests for romero where you can just go get him a hooker (or frick him yourself if you're playing a woman)?
I was only able to do it with celerity. just get Romero the hooker.
By having blood magic or a really high ranged weapon skill
The clans are more fun than in The Final Nights, but everything else about it is awful
yes? it's easy
there is a way to cheat the quest you do something like jump on the roof a building (i dont know if its the one there guy is in) and because of the way the game works no zombies spawn
theres a vid on yt i think
You just have to shimmy along the ledge where the wall on the upper gate is into the very furthest corner of the graveyard and nothing will spawn.
I will say without shame that I did this because frick that quest.
Obviously you get faster, as evidenced by the matrix style bullet paths.
Thoughts on Antitribu mod?
absolute disaster of design, only good things are the new clan disciplines, which are decently done
New clans are cool, mod itself is trash.
That's on top of buggy shit and very questionable design choices everywhere ofc.
>replay
Did it 9 times
It's a very short game
I haven't even played it once because of all the conflicting shit I hear about what you need to do in order to play it without it shitting the bed. One person says download this mod, another person says to download that one. Its the only game I just gave up trying to play. Maybe that's changed now? Is there some kind of download that has just the necessary mods I need? I hear the game is literally unplayable without certain mods. As in you cant actually play/complete it
What?
There is only one necessary mod, it has 2 version, thats what people are telling you
Just choose whichever
What are they then? I have a big list of mods saved somewhere that I was told were necessary to make the game playable.
The unofficial patch, the basic version is as close as you'll get to the game as it released, sans gamebreaking bugs.
you use unofficial path
basic: just fixes
plus: extra fanfic stuff if you want
the end
hell the gog version is prepatched with up basic and you can just start playing. the only thing i really had to go out of the way for was using a reshade to force anti aliasing.
Can you play it on modern hardware without issues? I've never finished it after starting it a decade ago.
Yeah just get the unnoficial patch
Alright. Thanks, anon.
"Hi Deb"
http://debofnight.andcuriouser.com/
We need AI to make more Deb content
Is that CJ with a wizard?
always takes me back, i can play the game in my mind
Why is wesp such a spaz?
>beat the game 4 months ago
>still remember the China town bloat
No thank
Where do you guys discuss vtm related stuff? I absolutely detest browsing this fricking shithole. I would even prefer/vg/ over this
tg has a wod general
Huh, didnt know, thanks
They even got the literature. That's nice, thanks
Not gonna lie, I do get the itch for a playthrough!
So she'd be what; late 30s to early 40s now?
It's been 20 years
She's at the absolute least 35
You think she's still cute? She is Asian after all, they can age pretty well...
If it were on Xbox, I would.
Imagine someone made SMT style games, Reiko the Zombie Shop
prompt?
>go to bed
>vtm thread is made
At least there's gonna be stuff to read, thanks.
The New hub in East La in CQM made me feel like pic related, which was an amazing feeling since I now know the cities almost perfectly. Whoever did evil piece of shit Vercetti did an amazing va job. The willing hooker in LA was new, and I got spooked before I got heroic.
is there a way to disable the head bobbing effect?
cl_bob 0 i think, in console
there's also cl_rollangle 0 if the tilting bothers you
why the frick do we constantly have threads of this piece of shit game and they always hit bump limit? frick off. the game isn't that good, make way for NEW games that haven't been discussed to death. thanks.
XD
Can't wait for more info on Lou
not to mention talking about 100% fictional topics like vampires is a total waste of time
what's the perfect money number? for me it's 1.14
money 0.8 for great justice
I am playing pathologic 2 for now
Grout's mansion is really interesting since you could argue that he was either murdered or managed to stage his death.
I am no longer here.
It's hard to take these sorts of posts seriously when they are littered with poor grammar and spelling mistakes.
>launch game
>open up console
>"money 1.2"
absolute ludo. no other game lets you do this
I've cracked the code, everyone
Fat Larry is Caine
Ngl, i feel like Fat Larry would be the most accepting human to finding out the MC is a vampire
I mean, you only appear at night, carry a small army's worth of weapons for no reason, entered a parking lot full of gangster and came out with a double digit kill count, and somehow got the russian mafia to back off from his friend's club, either by killing a frickton of their people alone, or somehow intimidating their leader
It's kinda fricking obvious that you aren't a normal human.
He can't be
Venus wouldn't survive their "sessions", what with the 7 times the damage received thing
>Venus wouldn't survive their "sessions",
That's poorly written fanfiction added by the plus patch.
The email spelling it out is vanilla friend
It's not, I compared game versions and checked the files. There's nothing like that between Fat Larry and Venus in the vanilla game.
The computer isn't vanilla, but the email is
What makes you say that? Are you just assuming it must be restored content? The plus patch adds in a lot of custom content that someone just wanted to add, it's not all cut content. I checked the game files and didn't find anything like that between Fat Larry and Venus.
https://vtmb.fandom.com/wiki/Venus_Dare%27s_laptop
It's right in the first paragraph that it's a *restoration*
I also played the old patches before the author started really *adding* crazy shit themselves and just restored and moved stuff in the plus patches. Those Emails are restored content, they just moved the ones that didn't make sense with the change to Venus not being a ghoul in the final version.
Cute cainite
Meh, the game got 4 runs out of me altogether. Saved Malkavian for my last run in 2019. I don't think I've got in me to touch this again within the next 20 years.
>Where to?
No
Is this game the only good piece of media to come out of this rpg?
>make a Toreador
>call it a Gangrel
Gangrel have the weakest identity of all the clans. It's hard to make a good Gangrel who doesn't have some significant thematic overlap with at least one other clan.
Hippies
Tho well, then they have thematic overlap with Garou
Don't make me summon a deer to club you to death.
Don't they mostly come from Dracula's weird powers over animals & vermin?
Yeah, they're the "shapeshifting monster with control over animals" part of vampire myth
This just as easily describes the nosferatu
Does Count Orlok display the ability to communicate with animals?
Doesn't he sicc rats on the protagonist at one point?
yes, with rats specifically
homie he literally swarms a city with rats
I haven't played the game so I have no idea about whoever you posted but I rather like it when vamps aren't just caricatures of their clan stereotype. Like Therese; without Jenette you'd never guess she was a Malk. Most would think she was a Venture with her professional attitude and business savvy.
Toreador don't have a monopoly on being pretty.
Anyone have a download for a copy? Not paying Activision for shit.
Ah ah ah~
Hiding in plain sight
You can tell this man has Charisma 5
How heavy in consequences would you say this game is?
I know you can miss the Apartment in Downtown if you frick up the Dane's Quest or you be a meanie to the Prince.
You can choose to snitch on Mercurio, which gets a pretty big reaction out of him.
What happens if you snitch on him? Does he refuse to sell you anything?
He tries to kill you.
Malk is love. Malk is life.
>0-
damn
i'm a walking bloodbag
Why does Venus get like virtually no art?
too british
is there any mod that makes her boobs actually 3d instead of just a cleavage texture or does source shit itself when an npc has breasts that nice.
Probably because her most compelling character trait is her breasts.
>Hello, I run a club
>I fricked a guy so he'd buy it for me
>I don't want to keep fricking him
>Make him go away
>Thanks, here's a tiny bit of money after every main quest I guess
She's hot but really not charismatic, at least compared to other npcs
>first time playing
>decided to let the game choose my clan/stats based on questions, wanted to be immersed
>didn't look up any other disciplines etc
>got brujah
>10 hours in and I look up how fricking cool the other disciplines are, mind control and summoning etc
>start to regret my choice, too far in to turn back
frick man
Bro if you're 10 hours in then just finish the game, take a small break and then replay another clan
vtmb is a highly, HIGHLY, replayable game anon. don't sweat it, you'll eventually play all the clans and skills. just enjoy the rp because on each playthrough its really good.
>decided to let the game choose my clan/stats based on questions, wanted to be immersed
i did that too and got malk
and i do not recommend it for a first playthrough
what's wrong with malk for a first playthrough? you had interesting mind frick abilities and invisibility, beats the plain shit I got as brujah
Malks are schizophrenic lunatics
A lot of your dialogue options are goofy, nonsensical, or just straight up spoil the plot because your character knows more than you but is also too fricked in the head to act on it
A first time player won't be any more capable of understanding the dialogue than the Malk does
I played Malk on 1st playthrough and it was brilliant going in blind as a Malk. People who say not to play Malk or Nos 1st time are wrong.
I really am stuck between Toreador or Malk...
do you want to be prostitute or mad?
or mad prostitute
I am stuck between being an gunslinger gigachad or being an insane schizo. Both seem cool.
>Cammy Brujah that gets really agressive whenever someone insults LaCroix
>Anarch Ventrue that still acts like a major butthole
Is there anything better?
>He's Just standing There... Menacingly!
Mulder?
Do you actually finish China town in your replay?
I just stop after Hollywood.
Yeah Chinatown ain't that hard
Ming Xiao's temple is just tedious, and Ming Xiao herself is fricking terribly designed
Also Kuei Jin are just kinda dumb in general so thats a point against it too
Son of a b***h
Okay, which clan should I pick this time?
I did gangrel, malk and ventrue playthroughs. Played tremere and nossie, but dropped it.
One of the Celerity clans.
I always finish the main hubs, and on the playthroughs where I didn't finish the game, I left off somewhere after the Giovanni mansion.
>One of the Celerity clans.
ok, toreador it is
spoils the plot a lot
>spoils the plot a lot
You won't really be able to spoil yourself if you play malk on the first playthrough. The dialogue is too cryptic to properly decipher without already knowing the context
This.
Your dialogue is off putting at times though.
t. Got malk through the questions
well it certainly did with the "daughters of janus"
That only works if you know who Janus is though
>>isn't that a two-faced Roman god?
Jeanette straight up tells you
Well shit
My problem was I knew too much about mythology and was overthinking how "the god of doorways" was relevant to Jeanette
>how "the god of doorways" was relevant to Jeanette
It is relevant, technically speaking...
She's really easy to "open"?
Anyone have any good Masquerade Violation pics?
The good of doorways is the one that closes all the doors in the game behind you
When Jeanette and Therese figure out what you mean when calling them daughter of Janus, is that them acknowledging that you can see through their secret, or are they fully deluded into thinking they are different people and just believe you are referring to them being twins?
The latter.
Granted, but that requires knowing what Janus is. It's also a minor spoiler in the grand scheme of things
>"daughters of janus"
The first time I played it, I thought that was refrencing how Santa Monica was ruled by two radically different Baron siblings
That could easily just be referencing how Therese and Jeanette share power over SM but are totally different in character.
How long is it? Is there any romance? Any lewd?
20-30 hours. Yes & yes.
>How long is it?
doesn't matter
>Is there any romance?
gay
>Any lewd?
Cleavage
>gay
Nope. Coomer
Romance just makes me coom harder
I still dont get celerity, do I get faster the more I upgrade or does the world just get slower, is super speed a thing in this game
If you didn't play malkavian on your first playthrough, you have never truly played the malkavian playthrough.
And you never will.
>mfw I ignored all the morons on here and played Malk on my first playthrough.
In any case, the best way to play the game is a max-Celerity Max Payne Toreador.
Hehehehehehe~
No I won't, it's shit.
Buy a watch.
I'll scream.
One day I wish I will be as cool and epic as the anons who say the n-word, maybe if I lurk more
Boy, I hope you don't play the first game either.
You mean the game where Black folk are represented proportionally to their actual population?
Can somebody red pill me on this game please. I don't know anything about it. Is it Skyrim but in a big city where you are a vampire?
Is the story good or people like it for builds/sandbox? First run with or without mods?
Since you've already been spoonfed, I'll just call you a moron tying too hard to fit in and to kys, for posterity.
>gatekeeping this hard
>telling a moron that he's a moron is gatekeeping
>thinking it's possible to gatekeep an anonymous imageboard in the first place
bruh
it's possible to gatekeep an anonymous imageboard in the first place
It is and people used to be better at it.
>act like a moron
>get called a moron
>duhhhhhh gatekeeping???
That's not remotely any degree of gatekeeping, you literally had been spoonfed the info
You are both homosexuals, and clearly both newhomosexuals at that.
homosexual
Is Samantha (the woman who knows you from when you were alive) voiced by the same woman as Deb? They sound very similar.
>frenzy as Gangrel
>look at those stats
>hit like a truck for 2 seconds then waste time feeding
The Beast is a fricking moron
Don't trash the beast. Frenzied on my first playthrough as a Toreador and beat that fricking Plaguebearer in the zombie mansion, I would've lost otherwise.
Tried the hunter class update a few weeks ago.
>got fukd like 20 times outta nowhere
>hard af
I love it but not motivated to finish it. Is it worth it?
Impressed so far.
I already am, OP
It called to me
I wish the "turn into a bat" ability wasn't only a Protean exclusive thing.
Every Gangrel player picks wolf as "their" animal anyway.
Yah because why tf wouldn't you pick wolf? It's the coolest shit and Garou are lame as frick
And then, somehow, inexplicably, without any explanation, half of the vampire population in New Mexico just keeled over and died.
>Chinese food in the background
Wait a second... OH SHI-
The latest basic patch is good enough for a mostly-vanilla experience, while the Standard Mod Patch exists for purists
I wanna replay the game (already played it once with the Plus patch awhile ago) but if I want a mostly-vanilla experience, do I install the latest basic patch or an earlier version?
So Lasombra are like, obligated to have ghouls no?
they could choose not to but I would find them least likely not to have any.
Why don't you just read the fricking thread you dumb piece of shit?
No.
Why so salty?
Because like half the posts in every single vtmb thread are newbies asking the exact same question, and coming in right before bump limit and asking that question is really dumb fricking moronic.
Capisce?
>newbies to a game don't know about previous threads
Say it ain't so.
You should read a post to the end before devising such an utterly moronic reply.
was right. Vtmb threads near the bump limit are all just noobs not reading the thread, asking the same fricking questions.
Play whatever the frick you want. Nobody cares. Just frick off already and start the game.
any clan is fine
Just play whatever clan you feel like based on its flavour, there's no "best" clan for 1st playthrough. You can trivialise the game with any of them.
I just cheesed the cemetary with the cheesiest cheese tactics ever and I feel fine.
You did not beat the cemetary.
Why yes I toggled noclip to pretend I used my vampire super strength and agility to climb over the wall and the hill between one gate to the other, didn't you?
Not gonna lie, I toggled no clip and gave myself infinite ammo and a flamethrower for this part.
No regrets.
>he doesn't run from one gate to another with celerity to melee every brain sucking frick
Weak.
Did that my very first time around. Frick that shit.
Great game but I turn on God mode in cheats for the last couple fights. Game gets idiotic with how many enemies it throws at you.
To this day I haven't, maybe it's time...
If you play Malk first you are a literary chad and an expert in understanding the written word.
If you save Malk for later so you can chuckle at le wacky references you are a virgin rick and morty fan and cringe.
>you are driving at night through some bumfrick nowhere forest
>wtf, a hitchiker?
>whatever, you pick her up
>she sits in the back of your car
>she's definitely a looker, but her clothes are dirty and she reeks of copper and wet dog
>takes one of your beers when you offer but doesn't drink it
>you didn't hear her move, but suddenly she's in the front seat of the car, right next to you
>she's staring at you strangely and you notice that her pupils are vertical
Wat do?
>wet dog
you are simply aware
I yell, "FRICK I'M GONNA COOM!!!"
pop a clove from my emergency garlic stash in my glovebox
You will die surprised and smelling of garlic.
>garlic
I look at her and say, Where to?
Just drive
How is the thread gonna reach the bump limit without talking about the best kindred or even the amazing soundtrack of the game. The only ones I prefer to be Childe of is either Beckett or Strauss, everyone else is extremely untrustworthy
Aisling is the best anyway.
I don't think there was anyone else at the Chantry besides Strauss at the time tbh
That's weird. I never expected that a person who likes Beckett would say he's fine with getting embraced by a Tremere in the same breath.
Vtmb Strauss is not as bad as your usual high ranking Tremere in Vtm.
>drinking the blood of the seven is essential for Tremere, the blood bound slavery process
>nothing like that happens in the game
Most likely you will be blood bonded once the whole sarcophagus shit is done. Having a Tremere, even a neonate, running around without being someone's b***h is tantamount to a rampant fungal crotch infection for the entire Pyramid. Or was, at the very least, since the Pyramid no longer exists.
>Strauss is not as bad as your usual high ranking Tremere
Because he's a good manipulator and very charismatic, a running theme with the game's characters. The blood bond thing doesn't happen to the PC in-game because the PC was embraced outside the pyramid and thus outside its jurisdiction for the time being.
>treats you like a massive moron baby
>thinks you're impatient and stupid
>is the only trustworthy kindred you meet
Beckett basically takes the role of Sire for a Gangrel MC
Compared to how Gangrel actually treat their childer, Beckett is a paragon of empathy and politeness.
>treats you like a massive moron baby
But that's what you are. Always a pawn in someone else's scheme.
Yeah but he didnt have to be so condescending about it 🙁
PC is lucky he talked to him at all. Elders usually do not even notice errand boys, let alone stop to lecture and teach them stuff.
