GFM is currently the 'best' Vic2 mod. You have to admit that. The amount of additional flavour and relatively decent performance for the more than 300 tags and the additional provinces is pretty nice. Industry and economy are also relatively stable and balanced.
But colonialism and everything to do with conquering new territory as a European major is just very boring, and punished severely by the mod. Purging is a meme, in vic2 - as Germany, but why remove the option?
I spent yesterday looking for the event but the guy who made it has actually spent the effort to hide it somewhere in the files outside the events folder. It's one thing to just remove it and let it be, it has no place in your mod, okay, fine; but to mess with someone, DRM-like, who might want to submod your mod is just a dick move.

>GFM
Never tried it. I just play crimeamod.
have a nice day nazi moron
After you troony
>crimeamod
same coin, different side
I hate all the tiny little stupid fricking revolts and additional provinces it adds. The Venezuelan revolution of 1888 should just be some rebels spawning not two fricking tags.
It's made by redditors what do you expect
EEM is better.
after months of procrastinating i am currently starting my own mod. The road begins
They recently removed the Madagascar plan and Adina plan too for being 'antisemitic'
I play BAI because its fun isnt cucked.
GFM is more fricking bloated than that shitty HFM
This, only good mod imo
And I just noticed that mememod has a bunch of shit stolen from BAI with no credit given, typical redditors
Elaborate.
I've never played a colonization game before and want to try it. Any country you'd recommend and any tips?
France is a good starter country, you're powerful and have a lot of options while not being faced with the more advanced mechanics of the game. Prussia when you're ready to play the sphering game and form GROßGERMANIUMS
91
try Italy
you have enough pops to settle large colonies and the lack of domestic resources makes you appreciate what you can get in africa
Hmm, I was thinking about Spain but Italy is fine, I think.
Anything I need to know about colonization? I only know about techs I need to research.
12
just make sure you have the naval range and colony points to get where you want
it's also considered foul play to take more than a tiny bit of Africa before the scramble, although depending on the mod you may be able to conquer the entire continent before 1880
I need ideas on how to make wool less chronically terrible.
If it's used to make fabric on its own or with cotton, cotton demand collapses and uncivs and poor pops will have problems buying wool. Wool already represents traditional felt clothing so making regular or luxury clothes makes no sense.
Many military uniforms are made out of wool, yet soldiers only eat as much wool as everyone else. Should soldiers eat more wool? Or should military units need wool to build and upkeep?
Also, horses and fodder costs are not modeled at all. Should horses and fodder for hussars, dragoons, and cuirassiers be like cavalry and need wool to represent the horses, or should all mounted units instead also need livestock and grain?
By the way, a new update is out.
>v0.5.6g https://github.com/ujtcelvn/Ending_Extension_Mod
Swapped price of grain with cattle because shitty staple crops being cheaper than meat is annoying, normalized food RGO productivity
Increased silk RGO production from 0.25 to 0.35 because silk the one of the worst RGOs in money made, even when accounting for normal silk price increases due to shortages
slightly reduced coal and iron production (still higher than in HPM)
2678 Bulgan timber -> grain Only roughly 1 percent of Mongolia’s land area is used to grow crops. Production is concentrated in the wetter northern parts of the country, particularly in the broad lower valleys of the Orkhon and Selenge rivers.
1466 Dalandzadgad timber -> wool
1468 Uliastai grain -> cattle
1465 Urga cattle -> timber
2207 Sainshand grain -> wool
Reverted Red Turban power struggle event
Reverted KMT national value back to order
Every China's capital is now immune to warlords, even if warlord cores have already spread there. A Beiyang China warlord appears in Beijing if you're not CHI or QNG (and if another warlord didn't already claim the area
Opium ban now flips RGOs instantly. (Newly aquired opium provinces still use the old system)
cleaned up some files
Is there any reason to even keep wool in the game? Just replace it with other goods which aren't total shit
Finding all the references to wool in the game and deleting them and figuring out what RGO to replace each province with and rebalancing all the pop demands would be difficult.
make it an alternative to cotton but less effective, so it could be used when cotton is too expensive or when wool is too cheap
If I make wool to fabric very unprofitable, all it does is trick moronic artisans and capitalists to waste money.
Thank you. Can you post some of your late game screenshots, especially of your economy screen? I want some more data so I can better balance it. EEM already makes much more iron than HPM, Sometimes the iron shortages is just someone subsidizing massive steel plants everywhere and eating the entire world's production of iron.
What do you feel about late game combat and aircraft carriers?
Also, I haven't played Victoria Universalis, what features in it do you like and dislike?
> moronic artisans and capitalists
it's a stupid meme, capitalists build only profitable (according to price) factories, but don't account for shortage of input or overproduction of output, so they will use wool-based production methods only if they will be more profitable.
Sadly I deleted my save games the other day, so no screenshots. The iron problems are situational yes, but specially noticeable the lower in the rankings you are because you may have to wait years to build a single factory from time to time. This doesn't seem to happen in VU the couple of campaigns I've played.
>What do you feel about late game combat and aircraft carriers?
Honestly, I don't do much late game warfare because it's a chore and, by that time, I usually have the territory and puppets I want. Also, I don't play multiplayer so I'm not an expert really.
>what features in it do you like and dislike?
It has several per province or state decisions that allow you to fine tune your country more. Some of these are clearly OP, but others are nice like the expand mines one, allowing countries like Sweden with low population to actually produce iron like in real life. Another decision allows you to build factories no matter the economic policy (I've always thought that was a bad design choice by Paradox). The main feature of the mod is a much more stable economy using a "World Bank" country with POPs that buy the excess production and avoids massive RGO unemployment. But the couple of games I've played seemed way too stable and easy. Oh, and the performance is great, but that's probably because it has fewer events and stuff?
>Sadly I deleted my save games the other day, so no screenshots
That's too bad. Please do take some if you decide to play again.
I did have an expand oil fields decision, but that was just for Baku and Maracaibo. I added an equivalent decision for iron mines in Lulea, Sweden in this new update.
>v0.5.6h changelog
Zaranj, South Afghanistan no longer touches Zahedan, Kerman, in order to avoid stupid AI Afghanistan borders.
Slightly increased grain production
Increased iron production back to 2
321 Lulea Sweden flips to iron after 1882
rename large_oil_field to highly_productive_mine
Expand oil fields decisions are now generic.
Expand mines decision for historically highly productive mines with few pops. (Currently just Lulea, Sweden)
Event to remove highly_productive_mine if the province is no longer a mine of the right type.
Change the icon for banning opium to the same icon as temperance league
i tried playing liberia in your mod but its completely broken
reforms don't work and there are 2 massive armys of jacobin rebels that capture both provinces endlessly but dont enforce any demands or despawn
Um... Anon... this is actually the intended experience
Works on my machine
Thank you for taking my suggestions. I forgot to say that sometimes I have had crashes (not in all versions) related to the different Chinese rebellions and new tags (I'm not playing China). So, for example: Event: 'Yunnan Uprising' in The Qing Empire. and the game crashes to desktop, no errors in log (maybe related to the memory limitations of the game itself?).
Another suggestion I have is to increase the minimum army and navy stockpile purchases because the military factories are not profitable for 3-5 years, then are very profitable for 2 years, then unprofitable again. I think the minimum funding for everyone should be about 30% for the factories to be more stable during the whole campaign. Of course jingoism parties should require more funding like in "military spending". This would also mean that only successful economies can maintain a big professional army all the time, perhaps reducing lag.
Oh darn you're right, the China rebellion event still crashes, thanks for pointing that out. I fixed the bug in the new hotfix, and also increased minimum spending to 30%, which the AI seems to like spending at anyways.
Is it possible to make Interventionism and State Capitalism no longer subsidize factories by default? I think one of the biggest eco problems is players making too many steel mills etc by accident and then using up the world's supply of resources like iron without even noticing it. Because every factory you or your capitalists build starts subsidized, and it's too much of a pain to hunt around unsubsidizing most of them, and if you hit the unsubsidize all button you'll also hit ones that you DO want to subsidize for strategic reasons (eg military goods).
If they just started unsubsidized and you could just go in and manually subsidize the few that you want to guarantee stay in business I think it'd work a lot better. But I don't know if that's possible to mod or if it's hard coded that economy types which allow subsidies will always have them enabled on new factories by default.
Simpler to just unsubsidize everything, then sort by what you want to keep and resubsidize.
>Is it possible to make Interventionism and State Capitalism no longer subsidize factories by default?
HPMP has a decision to turn off auto subsidies
I mainly use EEM and Victoria Universalis.
Love your mod dude. One suggestion I have is to add some of Victoria Universalis per-state decisions like to encourage migration too specific provinces or expanding mines to soften the common iron shortages.
>I need ideas on how to make wool less chronically terrible.
As a life need that's not used in any factories, there's really not much that can be done. Wool needs to be available enough on the world market that uncivs have access to it, otherwise they just get their growth stunted for no reason. That obviously holds the price down because by the "mid game" RGO techs have improved supply but world demand (i.e. population) has only crept up a little.
One option would just be to improve the base wool RGO output by 20% or something, and then remove about 20% of the wool RGOs. This would theoretically reduce poverty in wool RGOs, although most of the world's wool is made in British India so I'm not sure this is even much of a problem (due to UK's high RGO tech). Maybe not what you meant by "make wool less terrible"?
I think the only other reasonable option is to make regular clothes use a little wool, like you said. It's not unprecedented: luxury clothes consumes regular clothes, luxury furniture consumes regular furniture, etc. This would provide increased demand as supply increases, giving wool RGOs a reason to exist into the end of the game.
>But colonialism and everything to do with conquering new territory as a European major is just very boring, and punished severely by the mod.
And that's a good thing! War and Western Imperialism and slavery are horrific things in real life. This makes the mod realistic, don't you think?
>Purging is a meme, in vic2 - as Germany, but why remove the option?
Glorifying the Holocaust is evil, chud. You lost, get over it.
>Glorifying the Holocaust is evil, chud. You lost, get over it.

Anyone notice how the post 2016 nuchanners spamming their Redditjaks cannot tell an obvious joke lol
People couldn't tell obvious jokes since forever both here and everywhere else, newbie.
why would you double post at me lmao. this is some ESL who found this website in the last 6 months type behaviour. sorry but you’re a gay lol
Imagine outing yourself as THAT particular poster who eternally seethes at imaginary ESLs and political compasses.
Are you also the spaz that constantly makes those pathetic attempts at scatological jokes? If so, seek help.
Also, jokes are supposed to be funny.
Should I use HPM? Is there any downside?
How do I annex African states? I can puppet, make protectorate and add to sphere, but there's no conquest CB.
I'm using HPM by the way.
To get annex CBs, wait till Berlin conference event fires, typically in 1880's. If you sphere/puppet them beforehand you get an event where you can annex them for free.
Thank you.
establish protectorate is the same as conquest, it just costs less infamy
reddit mod
So what the hell does Blood and Iron do? Played it twice and I think it makes the AI far more random and aggressive but I'm not entirely sure
Have you seen stuff like stormtroopers, partisans, rebel fundings, cool cbs like industrial dismantlement, industrial slave pops in other mods? Well they are all from BAI. It focuses more on making the gameplay better instead of bloating and railroading the game but it also adds tons of useful events and decisions (instead of hundreds of historical rgo changing events like hpm that fricks up the economy). Anyone who claims its just vanilla+ just because it doesnt have a bunch of useless reforms is crazy.
how do people even play gfm
time goes by faster when i stare at a wall than when i play gfm on 5 speed
Reminder the lead dev is a Mischling who is so horrified by the holobunga he won’t but in the HPM genocide events
Alright guys, I'm not crazy, but I recall there's a mod that lets you change the names of everything in North America to English all the way down to Panama and I can't remember which one it is. Help?
it's included in crimeamod, manifest destiny submod for pdm
Thank you.
Why isn't there more shit like this?
My autistic brain lives for CONQUEST AND RENAMING
How am I meant to deal with this when playing as China in Dod?
Jesus Christ on the Cross I have never seen a fight this big and there's 3 of this size going on around the capital.
your literally not meant to deal with it
I won by cycling troops in my capital for five years. I lost 10m pops in that time.
>I lost 10m pops in that time.
quinessential chinese experience
What's the best mod for playing as Greece
Including removing unwanted pops
Probably crimeamod.
what's the verdict on The Grand Combo?
https://github.com/rderekp/The-Grand-Combo
why is the UI green
looks so fricking bloated
I like the bloat, nice colours. Is it EEM, Crimeamod and HFM (with GFM Japan and Persia content) put into one? If so I'm interested.
Is there a country I can play where I won't have to deal with endless gigantic rebellions until one of them manages to siege my capital & force me into a shitty government I don't want to play?
USA
zulu
Any one of them if you know what you're doing.
gitgud
I only play vanilla
Should I use HPM? Is there any downside?
The only downside is that the mod was in active development when grandi left so if you use it you're going to find bugs but you're the only one who is going to fix them because grandi abandoned it.
t.alex also went a little crazy at the end, he has all kinds of RGO change events that can be really annoying. He made some complex genocide system that isn't very effective. He was making design decisions specifically to block player scheming/fun even if the changes didn't make sense historically, like the "no boats for china" thing.
I'm playing on the last HPM release with a handful of personal edits.
I'm more worried about railroad and scripted.
That's just like your opinion man. The point of HPM was to make stuff happen in the world besides the xth war for alsace lorraine and random countries on separate continents randomly getting into a war and then wasting all their infamy on dismantle fortification CBs. If you prefer that vanilla gameplay compared to scripted civil wars and colonial expansion then have at it.
I was just asking.
How do I colonize in HPM?
Do you mind posting your edits anon? I still can't endure any other Vicky 2 mod besides HPM but I feel you entirely on some of grandi's changes even if I didn't go full autist about them. I miss him and when /gsg/ had actual content still
I'm not going to post them. All I've really done so far is remove accepted cultures in some unification events because I think it's a weird cop-out to say "yeah okay actually everybody is invited" when IRL that either wasn't successful (ottomemes) or it was "successful" by forcing all the various cultures into an identical cultural mold which is better modeled by extreme assimilation a la USA and also I hate looking at those pie graphs knowing the subhuman section is never going to get any smaller. And fixed some name change events that don't work right because grandi was making edits up until the last second when he left. Also I'm fiddling with the economy and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Just use HPMP for a 2022 updated HPM
Rate my Oman
Form Arabia or you have ligma
Here is Arabia
Now beat back the colonizers
What's your religion? Ibadi, Shia, Sunni?
I started as Oman so Ibadi I think.
There’s a sub mod on moddb to reenable genocide in GFM
So if I sphere Netherlands I'll have access to their oils and rubbers from Southeast Asia, right?
Theoretically. Netherlands has a pretty strong domestic industry, usually, so they can wind up using a lot of those resources before you are given the opportunity to buy them. Better to make Indonesia happen so you can take the resources straight from a country without any domestic industry.
Recommend me some countries to play. I've already played Prussia > Germany, Sardinia-Piedmont > Italy, and Japan.
Play Oman
Any reason why?
Netherlands. Reform the united netherlands, Reclaim south african clay, take back malaysia Prevent germany from forming. Prevent Japan from forming and take Korea.
I've done this about 10 times and it never gets old, beating the shit out of the british and germans is too satisfying.
I usually build a 30 brigade death stack with 30 steamers and whatever navy i can shit together and stomp anything in my way. Switch to reactionary for that sweet state capitalism and jingoism for early expansion and industrialisation. If you're doing it right you should have around 6million accepted and 20+ unaccepted pops by 1900. Since you're mainly colonies you can get up to 60% craftsman or clerks and still be at a resource advantage in the continent.
Use migration focuses as well to speed up colonization.
For this to work you need to lower taxes and tariffs for more pop growth. Good luck.
I wish I am that good, but I can only play on basic level.
serbia or turks
The rick roll event is the last event within the GreatWars_Events.txt and Sitka.txt, I'd suggest replacing the random genocider's eventsmodifier.txt with the latest gfm one in the mod's common folder, however make sure to insert
}
preparations_to_kill_lmao = {
global_immigrant_attract = -2
non_accepted_pop_consciousness_modifier = 0.2
non_accepted_pop_militancy_modifier = 0.1
badboy = 0.3
icon = 18
}
After the new_constitution modifier, the mod won't work without that modifier.
Thank God that homosexual lib modders are lazy
Vgh great Iberia... What could have been if the *nglo d*gs didn't ruin everything.....
>zero out of seven foci
>9 unused diplo points
>hoarding 23 million of pounds in gold
>exporting cotton, lumber and coal, importing liquor and clothes
what the hell are you doing?
don't forget 452/3243
Don't worry about it. The invisible hand guides this mighty nation.
Has anyone tried Blood and Iron mod? How's it?
The AI is good and the main selling point, but it’s improvements are included within Crimeamod and HPMP.
Other than that it lacks events, such as the Crimea war, so it’ll feel more like vanilla where things happen randomly not because of narrative events.
Would you recommend it over HPM? And what is HPMP?
Sorry I just don't know what mod to use.
I like some historical events to guide the world, so I’d say either is better than B&I.
HPMP is a recent continuation of HPM with everything that has and more.
Crimeamod is sort of the edgy “anti HPM” mod which is built on B&I so has everything from that, but also tries to intentionally troll the HPM dev so that puts off some people.
Thanks.
>Crimeamod is sort of the edgy “anti HPM” mod which is built on B&I so has everything from that, but also tries to intentionally troll the HPM dev so that puts off some people.
Why would anyone waste their time doing that?
Same reason grandi would waste his time preventing fringe scenarios like migrating to the new world as belgium, or preventing new world nations from getting immigrants while at war to get rid of another fringe exploit.
>intentionally troll
Now i'm interested. What are the trolls?
How railroad is HPM? I'm debating if I should use B&I or HPM.
Stop asking and just play one mod or the other and decide for yourself.
should there be a decision which lets you recognize israelites are citizens and makes them integrate into your primary culture, besides for the religion?
no because israelites don't assimilate, even if you don't oppress them
genocide is an essential part of my victoria 2 enjoyment
Yep
