There are some good ones when they go towards electronics, mideval,or neoclassical. Really depends. Heard some VGM I liked on YouTube. Anime OSTs are far worse.
have you heard the sound of h.pylori infested diarrhea spattering the inside of your nose and roof of your mouth, straight from the anus of a homeless man?
you only like video game music because you were forced to listen to it for dozens if not hundreds of hours while playing a video game that you enjoyed. If I strapped you to a bed and forced blowjobs on you while you listened to ed sheeran by hour 100 you would be a committed ed sheeran fan
Disagree. I've enjoyed plenty of vgm osts I found on YouTube for games I haven't played. Some of it really is very compositional while also having more room for creativity than conventional classical. Not all of it though. Anime Music is the true rock bottom although both ofc appeal to the same type of guy.
fpbp
there are a couple dozen out there that truly stand out. guilty gear for metal, shadows of the colossus for classical (real classical, not just heavily orchestrated ambient played with violins), etc. most of it is just background noise or generic bombastic hollywood music for le epic action adventure
I get listening to music from video games, but the idea of the genre of "video game OSTs" is kind of ridiculous considering how varied this "genre" is. The only link between the OSTs of Dark Souls and Quake is that they're both in video games.
Wrong
You haven't played the original Stronghold

Hylics 1 OST is good
If you’re playing some generic AAA slop, then yeah.

I geniunely do not get what people hear in JSR's OST, it's just a bunch of chops and cuts
Did people really say "shut up" back in the 0030's?
