Although technically you had to physically run away from a battle to escape. That's something for gameplay, but it's not really much of a deal. Being able to control the perspective was the important part. Made things feel a bit more dynamic.
I like SV camera more because it focus on pokemons more than trainers. You wouldn't be able to appreaciate the little little hops lechonk does before tackle with legend's camera
I would prefer a more hybrid system, free usage when choosing shit and not just constantly in motion. But the actual animations the camera becomes focused.
I'm just tired of the constantly moving camera.
PLA battle system was fun but far from being remotely competitive. Speed priority is whack and gives too much advantage, and damage calculation makes so little sense. Things that should be hitting for 1 or 2 damage are taking out a quarter or more of my HP.
You're a fricking moron. PLA literally did not have casual battling either.
You're just full of shit and defending the sabotage of one of the pillars of the franchise's game design
A big part of that was the nearly nonexistent level scaling.
Pokemon get very, very few stats from level up, but get a ton for just existing as a pokemon of a given species. A level 60 fighting a level 30 is more like a level 60 fighting a level 50 in PLA.
Except for speed, where even a few points of difference change everything, and let a pokemon bite three times in a row.
>Game Freak probably thought Legends wouldn't catch on as much as it did >Legends and S/V were in development alongside each other >by the time Legends released, too much shit in S/V couldn't be changed without upending the whole development process
They had all the time in the world to gauge if people would have liked Legends by simply releasing more info before release. Giving some teasers, maybe even a demo early on.
Instead they decided to say nuts to that.
I hate this gay earth.
The good thing about PLA was how utterly incompetent the people around you are, and the immense power trip from being the only human being not shitting themselves in sheer idiocy.
And that bit where those moronic bandits attack and try to strongaarm you LITERALLY 30 seconds after you caught a physical god.
Which is a good thing because the battle system from Legends was awfun shit. The actual system from the mainline games is a great, fun system that fricking works and it works great. Arceus with a failure and I hope all you Arceus-Shills get aids, because you are aids to this board. Kys.
The games were likely developed simultaneously and very little if any communication occurred between both teams.
Expect SV to be more like SWSH and less like LA.
We barely saw anything out of 2 trailers
Given the camera perspective it's a safe bet to say free trainer movement is out.
Free trainer movement was the most useless thing of PLA anon. It gave nothing to the gameplay.
So? I liked being able to control the perspective of the battle.

Would be useful if you had to move out of AoE attacks or for positioning other pokemon you send out in hypothetical multi-battles.
I stated my ADHD
and that's a good thing
>and that's a good thing
good, styles are a fricking mess
Styles were shit but I liked walking around the field during battle.
I like jumping into Hyper Beams during battles

I can't tell if the UI is good or not.
Based. Legends made absolutely no improvements whatsoever.
What about physical attack animations connecting with the opposing Pocket Monster?

And all it took was killing 90% of the movepool to make it happen
Don't waste your time on people who never actually played PLA. They just want (you)s
give me (you)
I'm a generous anon, here's your (You)
Hell, have another (You) and enjoy the rest of you day.
Good. Legends was trash.
The combat system was the only thing I didn’t like in legends so win/win here

>competitive
The more you cater to competitive-gays, the worse everything gets. Remember that.
No different than catering to speedrunners.
Yeah let's just ignore one of the core aspects of the series, battling with friends
Does no help to spit in their eye either with the clownjob that was PLA's combat

you want craft shit and catching the same pokemon 10 times to ge tthe dex entry or something? The only good thing about Legend was the open world

the problem is that takes nothing from it UI-wise and battle animation-wise, anon
otherwise, I wholeheartly agree, and I'm not even a compgay
Sword and Shield 1.5, but whitout the DLC.
It took the seamless transition into battle, chud.
we hope so, because we're not sure
The only good things it could take from it is arguably Frostbite and Drowsy, and even those are questionable.
just Frostbite. Drowsy is hot garbage.
Nothing. Frostbite and Drowsy are hot garbage.
Thank god, PLA’s battle system was trash. It was like they wanted to do ARPG gameplay but wanted to keep it turn based

Looks like it took "EXP is gained at the end of battle"
