There's a ton of sfw artists making 10k+ on patreon, there's no reason to think this wouldn't hit those numbers.

Need a good game to sink time into though, all the more ambitious titles are student project tier, and the ones that aren't are too few and far between or multiplayer shooters.
I'm sure it's one of those things that in a hundred years will be revolutionized to the point where no one will want to play any other way, but as is I just think that games should be about the game itself rather than a gimmick of how the controller and camera works. I recall an interview where it was revealed Valve had looked into methods to make the VR sets you see in anime, but that it lead to health and safety concerns and involvement of the FDA. The world is too much of a government clusterfrick for that kind of technology, even if they get it running well.

I enjoy VR in its current state, but the lack of more killer apps is really holding it back. The few times AAA has stuck their head in to make a brave stab at it it's been largely undercooked(Medal of Honor A&B) or only a true VR experience with heavy modding (Skyrim and Fallout 4 VR). Its real strength lies in being a social sim, evidenced by the runaway success of VRChat and Rec Room, effectively being the end point of old school IRC boards and Gaia Online manifested in full 3D all around you. VR will improve, and if the market really latches on it can drive further success, but I'm personally expecting it to remain an entrenched niche of the industry for a long time, even with Apple throwing their hat into the ring.

AR is a way more interesting concept then VR. Unfortunately apple is charging way too god damn much, it's apple, and it won't do useful shit like providing enhanced environmental information and schematics of the things you're looking at, but rather will play an ad in your peripheral vision (and only there if you're lucky) until the end of time

AR is a way more interesting concept then VR. Unfortunately apple is charging way too god damn much, it's apple, and it won't do useful shit like providing enhanced environmental information and schematics of the things you're looking at, but rather will play an ad in your peripheral vision (and only there if you're lucky) until the end of time
