But not switch and PlayStation games? It would make sense that Microsoft wants to push game pass, which is a huge money sink that can be passed on to tax payers as end of the year losses/no profit taxation.
The industry has been pushing for digital only so long that zoomers dont know any better. They played the long game and won, you even see people defending digital only in these very threads.
I defend digital only, on these consoles. Nowadays the games don't come inside the plastic box, they have to be dowanloaded on your console even on disc.
You have no understanding, that's mostly because current technology relies on SSD to load everything cause it's better unless you want to hear the disk drive whrrrrring all the time to play the game
Modern hard drives barely make any noise. I've got 8 of them in a NAS spinning 24/7 in my living room and only very rarely will you hear a *chunk* noise as the heads move.
The fans are louder than the drives and are still barely audible.
>games don't come inside the plastic box, they have to be dowanloaded on your console even on disc.
t. he has an Xbox Series and likes being treated like that
Digital on pc is a good thing, I could not care less about physical, it'd just add to the cost and be invconvenient.
Digital only on consoles just gives far more power to the console manufacturer where there's already zero consumer freedom or control.
Congratulations you won the most moronic post of the week, you believe games can't fit onto a disc with your smoothbrain, let's look at the upcoming FF7 rebirth that is coming in 2 discs like the good ole days surely the company could had saved money and not spent manufacturing cost but they did, you zoom zooms are just lazy pieces of shit who don't like to leave home truly the worst generation
do you really need physical games? if you hadn't had physical games, only digital, would you seek having a physical collection?
The good thing about physical games is that you can often get them cheaper than digital now.
I got the Dark Souls collection (D1:R, D2, D3 and all the DLC) for $50 CAD. Each of these games goes for $50 CAD on Steam without the DLC.
Gamepass is cannibalizing sales - especially physical ones. Why should i spend 70 bucks on Slopfield when i can just try it for 12 bucks? Not like i am gonna spend more than 30 days in it anyway.
movie and music discs are like $10-20. they move faster and probably have better margins for retail. the cost to retailers is low enough that they don't get worked up over them being shoplifted.
game retail is not profitable for retailers because games are already so expensive they can't add a ton of markup. that also forces them to lock up the games to prevent theft which is an added expense. game specialty like gamestop relied heavily on trading used games to get around the thin margins they make on first sales, and the industry going digital is why gamestop is now bankrupt. games are mostly only carried by retailers because they bring people to the store to buy other things, but that's not worth it anymore if there's only half of people going to the store for games as before.
a more serious implication for the industry is how future consoles will even get to consumers. likely they will have to be ordered direct from the first party (like valve hardware) because even Amazon won't want to bother with their shit anymore.
This, and a significant portion of their movies and CDs are sold to them as bulk lots for filthy cheap. That's why you've got maybe two endcaps of new releases and two aisles of old stuff, 'classic collections', and things like that. On the old stuff they pay more on freight than they do for the movies themselves.
>Windows will move into cloud for everyone - the PC market will slowly die out as there is no longer a need for consumers to build their own PCs - they will just get a small cloud box which comes with everything to connect them to the Microsoft environment >Nvidia, AMD, ASUS. MSI will exclusively sell their hardware to MS, Sony and other big cloud companies - no more consumer business whatsoever >you will pay a monthly subscription and the performance and space you get depends on your sub-tier >consoles will no longer come with their own storage either and just connect you to XCloud/NintendoOnline or PSN >physical media are completely gone - some sites will offer physical copies for old legacy systems in order to satisfy the nostalgia market but that's exclusively something only for the highest enthusiasts and collectors who are willing to spend the money on it.
Is it true that americans need to drive for 2 hours to go to the walmart to stock up for like a week? why not just go to the corner store? that's what we do here in Europe.
Why would you buy a regular physical game whtn there's tons of day one updates and dlc later down the line? Physical is only worth of a goty version with all expansions and shit in the disk/cart.
>there's tons of day one updates and dlc later down the line?
There are 5 generations of gaming on PC and consoles that worked fine without getting MUH DAY ONE patch. Did you know that once upon a time on PC you installed a game, ran the executable, and didn't have to install MUH PATCH? The future of mankind is right here with you zoomer.
>Go in Walmart once a year >Walk by the vidya/technology section >Four homies tryin' to sell me internet that hasn't even been installed in my neighborhood
Legitimately the worst shopping experiences in my life are at Walmart. I hope Afro-Americans keep robbing them and put them out of business, hopefully both groups will die out then. Hell, I wish those homosexual ass white people on scooters would start robbing them.
People be talkin' about "peer pressure" in society and shit like the frick? Go outside and look at all of your "peers" and tell me you're pressured to act like them.
Fricking standards lower than dinosaur bones.
>Walmart will be the first to stop selling Xbox Series physical games >The last susscefull Xbox console was the 360 which sold over 80 million >The most Xbox consoles can sell is 50 million on the Bone and Series consoles are underperforming the Xbone sales >CEO of Xbox is on record that he wants the brand to become more than console and just the GamePass rental fees
Let's think this through logically. Why would a retailer stock Xbox games these days? The customer base for Xbox only rents and renews their rents. They salivate all the flavor of the month GamePass and move on to the next. This is how the SEGA Dreamcast went out and then SEGA became a 3rd party publisher. If you're in denial, the Halo and Gears of War brands are more associated with Fortnite costumes than IP because Microsoft Xbox brand is demolished.
But hey you can pretend the Series S and SlopPass is saving a failing division of Xbox.
it's always been over. people just can't do without their convenience. the only thing that's happening here, really, is that the israelites are figuring out new ways to make people content. say what you will about the israelites being evil or whatever, but they really are excellent parasites, if one thinks about it. sure, you slowly lose more and more of your freedoms every year, but look at all the stuff the israelites give you in return!
All two people who buy physical Xbox games at Walmart are in shambles right now.
>All two people
You don't have to exaggerate with such unbelievably high numbers.
I am all two of those people.
Physical is dying bros.
i will never stop owning my games, physical chads will always win
>Microsoft is really going to try going full digital with the xbox
again
>the claim is the israelite CEO of LRG
WOW, it's fricking nothing!
the last physical game i bought was RE2 remake or kh3, I don't remember
But not switch and PlayStation games? It would make sense that Microsoft wants to push game pass, which is a huge money sink that can be passed on to tax payers as end of the year losses/no profit taxation.
Damn that sucks. Last time I bought a physical copy was Disgaea 5 complete for the Switch and it was on clearance for $15.
Best Buy is doing it too, the frick is going on?
They want you to own jack shit and be on a subscription model. Enjoy the future anon =)
Uh, goyim can't own property, because they ARE property.
Anyone who bothers with physical media orders it through Amazon. People don't go to browse games and movies at the store like they used to.
That is a good deal. These are the kind of good deals you won't have when there is only 1 online store to buy games.
Xbox brand is basically dead at this point. They’ve barely made any games since the end of 360 era, I’m honestly surprised it’s held on this long.
Just goes to show how iconic 360 era Xbox live was for social.
The industry has been pushing for digital only so long that zoomers dont know any better. They played the long game and won, you even see people defending digital only in these very threads.
Case in point:
I defend digital only, on these consoles. Nowadays the games don't come inside the plastic box, they have to be dowanloaded on your console even on disc.
>I defend digital because they intentionally fricked up the physical version
That was the point anon.
I also don't want you to be hoarding pieces of plastic that will end up in the dumpster and in the ocean, eventually.
You vill own nozing und you vill be happy.
I rather have books on display. Using games as therapy for loneliness works better if you are playing them.
YOU VILL NOT READ
YOU VILL NOT HAVE FUN
YOU VILL VORK, AND ZEN YOU VILL GO HOME UND STARE AT ZE VALL UNTIL IT IS TIME TO GO TO VORK AGAIN
>Won't someone please think of the tuna
Not just tuna, it gets inside you as well.
You have no understanding, that's mostly because current technology relies on SSD to load everything cause it's better unless you want to hear the disk drive whrrrrring all the time to play the game
>unless you want to hear the disk drive whrrrrring all the time to play the game
I do
Modern hard drives barely make any noise. I've got 8 of them in a NAS spinning 24/7 in my living room and only very rarely will you hear a *chunk* noise as the heads move.
The fans are louder than the drives and are still barely audible.
I think they're talking about the disc drive noise when it spins and reads the disc.
>games don't come inside the plastic box, they have to be dowanloaded on your console even on disc.
t. he has an Xbox Series and likes being treated like that
Digital on pc is a good thing, I could not care less about physical, it'd just add to the cost and be invconvenient.
Digital only on consoles just gives far more power to the console manufacturer where there's already zero consumer freedom or control.
This idiot here doesn't know how to pirate games.
Moms letting their overweight kids walk around the games section and look at games will never be the same
>muh piece of plastic with a game key on it
physical only gays are fricking moronic
Congratulations you won the most moronic post of the week, you believe games can't fit onto a disc with your smoothbrain, let's look at the upcoming FF7 rebirth that is coming in 2 discs like the good ole days surely the company could had saved money and not spent manufacturing cost but they did, you zoom zooms are just lazy pieces of shit who don't like to leave home truly the worst generation

damn we can't even get a
>Says Source, Believed To Be Familliar With Related Ongoings
anymore
People buys games in Walmart? When there's a lot of better places.
do you really need physical games? if you hadn't had physical games, only digital, would you seek having a physical collection?
Damn the broncos must really be a burden on walmart
It's not just Xbox games. People just aren't buying physical media like they used to.
Black folk are always stealing from Walmart but even they can't be bothered to take Xbox stuff. M$ is just a third rate console brand.
Who don't people buy physical xbox like they do PS and nintendo.
Who's Claim?
doesn't really make sense. They still sell dvds and cds at any of the ones i've been too.
xbros don't like physical games, and were not buying them
Gamepass is cannibalizing sales - especially physical ones. Why should i spend 70 bucks on Slopfield when i can just try it for 12 bucks? Not like i am gonna spend more than 30 days in it anyway.
Good. Game Pass is better than individual $70 purchases.
movie and music discs are like $10-20. they move faster and probably have better margins for retail. the cost to retailers is low enough that they don't get worked up over them being shoplifted.

they got tired of Black folk breaking open the boxes then stealing the cd and the code I see
Makes sense.
Unlike physical PS5 games, physical Xbox games don't have anything on the disc.
https://www.techspot.com/news/96470-call-duty-modern-warfare-ii-ps5-disc-contains.html
We already know physical Xbox games don't have anything on the other than a license.
People don't want games at $70, and publishers don't want to sell them lower than this. It's over for physical media.
>Says Claim
ok
There's no reason to buy Xbox games when there's the gamepass
Here is how gaming of the future looks like
>Windows will move into cloud for everyone - the PC market will slowly die out as there is no longer a need for consumers to build their own PCs - they will just get a small cloud box which comes with everything to connect them to the Microsoft environment
>Nvidia, AMD, ASUS. MSI will exclusively sell their hardware to MS, Sony and other big cloud companies - no more consumer business whatsoever

Care more about your future and not to the future you won't be a part of.
And?
>Says Claim
what the frick does that mean
>xbosta
wow it's nothing
Do they even have stores in Brazil?
Is it true that americans need to drive for 2 hours to go to the walmart to stock up for like a week? why not just go to the corner store? that's what we do here in Europe.
2 hours? Do you really think we all live out in the middle of fricking nowhere?
There's a Walmart at every highway exit.
Only in poor places because the local stores purposely jack up prices because they can.
>mfw the last physical media I bought was spore
Will Gamestop be the last bastion?
Xbox users don't buy games
Why would you buy a regular physical game whtn there's tons of day one updates and dlc later down the line? Physical is only worth of a goty version with all expansions and shit in the disk/cart.
>there's tons of day one updates and dlc later down the line?

next consoles will just be streaming machines only
and you will be happy
and that's a good thing goyim

Who even buys physical games at Walmart? It's not the 2000s any more.
>willingly entering a walmart to buy videogames
i seriously hope none of you do this.
>says claim
Oh, that's a new red flag for bullshit I'll need to add to the list.
Video games aren't really worth buying anymore.
Considering the leaked stuff about the digital only Series X it makes sense.
it's always been over. people just can't do without their convenience. the only thing that's happening here, really, is that the israelites are figuring out new ways to make people content. say what you will about the israelites being evil or whatever, but they really are excellent parasites, if one thinks about it. sure, you slowly lose more and more of your freedoms every year, but look at all the stuff the israelites give you in return!
>xbox games
already a lost cause
Who cares? We'll all die in a few decades. What's the point of buying so much physical shit? Just play the games and stop coomlecting.
