What's your favorite Warcraft 3 online map?
Mine isn't actually Green TD, I'm just posting it because the map is more obviously a warcraft 3 map than my favorite one, which is SWAT: Aftermath.

never liked warcraft but had to play it on one lan party and some tokyo drift map cracked me up at the time
I lost a lot of my memory of my time playing wc3 but I do remember thinking elemental td is really cool. What did you like about green td, I probably played it but I didn't remember anything about it
I didn't like Green TD. I thought it was boring and super basic as far as TDs go, and never really understood why it was the standard one a lot of people played.
I just happened to have the image on hand from a thread yesterday.
Binders and Island Troll Tribes
I was always a Battle for Icecrown guy
The Silmarillion custom game is still the best and probably only game based on this Tolkien work and it was an amazing experience. If you haven’t played this love letter to the book then I highly, highly recommend it (with friends or etc)
Other favorites:
War of the Rings
The many DBZ RPGs
Angel Arena and its countless versions/clones
So many great TDs I can’t even remember the names of right now
>Uther Party
Few more I just remembered:
That Werewolf/monster game where you had to build and survive as one other player becomes the werewolf
The Toy Soldiers/children’s playground tower defense/wave PvP game where you built buildings to send units to the other side
That zombies one where everyone played as a squad and chose classes etc and killed hordes of enemies
Even the RP ones where you could spawn assets/units and make your own scenarios were fun sometimes. Also WC3 was one of the games where I’ve had the most fun trolling/griefing, especially in these RP servers lmao
Footman Wars
there is a special spot in my heart for AotZ (advent of the zenith) and to a lesser extent desert of exile. they really stood out to me as far better than most aos maps. syndra in league of legends is actually based on arro kree in aotz.
but honestly, i think my favorite was castle fight. im surprised that there has been no standalone recreation of it.
all the hero siege maps
ice/island troll tribes
dark deeds/werewolf
all the assymetrical maps where each player controls a nation
All of these were good
life of peasant was garbage tho
The Kingdom of Kaliron,anyone?
It's probably still being developed
"phasekiller" was one of my favorite werewolf type maps.
Cat and mice
The changling
NotD
Kings and Knights
LoaP
So many great maps. There was one TD I liked for quite awhile but I can't remember its name. You could have a hero as well as building up towers.
Just found the TD map. Enfos TD.
Orc Gladiators
Bosons TD
Run Kitty run
Warlock brawl
Randgruppen TD
Cruiser command baybeeee
>blue and teal get all leaks and therefore all gold
green td was extremely easy but i still liked it
Dunno about favorite but I was always a sucker for tree/sheep tag and x hero siege. I remember this one game where you would build a farm and towers while vampires/dreadlords tried to kill you but I forget what it's called.
The one where the thumbnail was of gay porn
The Helm’s Deep and Siege of Minas Tirith maps were so goddamn good. Just wow
RKR
I spent a lot of my recent time with my buddies playing some incredibly dogshit PvE moba called Hero of the Empire. It is not good, it is simply just fascinating because of how bad it is. A truly ambitious project made by a single complete moron. The guy would make a character like Little Child, who starts with 90 health and is nearly unplayable, but was able to assume 30 different forms as he leveled up.
It was extremely poorly balanced and the forums have sadly disappeared very recently, this is sad because it was full of the most braindead ball-licking sycophants I have ever seen in my entire life. They thought this dude was a god and would pay to get into his donator only part of the forum where they would share "secrets", a few of which I became privy to through my research. One involved using a courier npc to hold a specific item and attack a specific tower you constructed to make a secret special item. There is no way you would know how to do this without being told. If you ever dared critique this game you would be dogpiled by these people saying how it's 'meant' to be hard.
Sadly, I think the creator was eastern european and he may have very well died in the war. Frick you, Inmortal_Siegfreid.
>when you would get kicked because you didn't have the right version of the map even though there were hundreds of different versions
This sparked my love for tower defenses. Dota2 arcade is a spiritual successor to Warcraft custom games.
dota2 arcade is typical valve make something really good then forget about it, leaving it to rot even when many people care for it.
O yeah its kino time.
cant beat the classics.
run kitty run was the shit
>IT STARTS WITH
Castle Fight
I remember the rpg maps that would actually save your character with a code, pretty cool shit.
Hero line wars used to be my chill map. Just pure fun
Same. Always picked the illidan hero because the starfall spell was OP.
WC3 might have the most SOVL of any game ever made.
There was this one Naruto arena map that was so scripted it would freeze most of the time in my PC.
the blademaster ones were cool, even though bm was a c**t in melee
Upgraders was a very good ffa line war style thing. You had heros, units, and towers. Every few rounds everyone's army was thrown into an arena for a big battle with bonus lumber on the line. Very well put together but felt half complete. Good difficulty, you couldn't just spam spawns, needed to spend gold on defense. most players died to neutral waves before anyone ever had the income to go offensive though.
genesis of empires
s3 marine corps survival
dark deeds
