So the game is still at the very least 3-4 years out, I'm guessing. Maybe even as long as 5-6 years, if we're really unlucky. That kinda sucks, but I am cautiously optimistic about what the devs may be able to achieve if they truly put their minds to it. Warframe has always had very solid gameplay.

I'd look at it more as a means of getting WF players to check out the new game and potentially exhaust their plat supply, requiring buying more.

The look itself comes from doom 3 era of using zbrush for modeling soft organic shapes for mechanical stuff, started by Kenneth Scott, Geoff Crookes is the art dir.
Its more or less gonna be the same thing, just with magitek taking the place of the biopunk and sci-fi replaces with magic.

I loved warframe. The gameplay, the aesthetic, the story, but it was too grindy. I also loved how experimental it is even though it makes the players whine and b***h all the time. I'm really looking forward this. Hopefully, it won't be so grindy.
Warframes biggest problem has always been lack of an endgame, so it instead piles on all kinds of other shit you babysit and add to your collection to hopefully just keep you busy that way until the next content drop. It's like when WoW adds some new preexisting homestead bullshit under another name that you drop as soon as you clear that exact, but at least WoW has the decency to give you real bosses and unique dungeons and shit.

Any clips of warframe that looks spastic are all artificial and is not reflective in how the game is actually played.
The only place that calls for anything above that level of movement is conclave and that is garbage. All you are using that movement for is running to objectives as fast as possible and leaving the mission as fast as possible. For open world shit you just throw on one of the low effort high speed frames to get places even faster.

People like getting better at the game to accomplish new tasks in the game. Not going back and redoing identical tasks you've completed already. For me Monster Hunter is on the edge of being too much doing the same thing over and over because at least you can stop fighting the low level intro monsters after a while and are only fighting endgame monsters. Warframe is balanced where loot can come from anywhere so either the lowest level or highest content ends up being the most efficient way to get stuff and by the time you have endgame gear the difference between them is minuscule.

Warframes biggest problem has always been lack of an endgame, so it instead piles on all kinds of other shit you babysit and add to your collection to hopefully just keep you busy that way until the next content drop. It's like when WoW adds some new preexisting homestead bullshit under another name that you drop as soon as you clear that exact, but at least WoW has the decency to give you real bosses and unique dungeons and shit.

I never understood this fricking ass mentality of "Why would you want to improve at X if it means you'll do it faster? You're doing X less!" That applies to fricking everything where improving means accomplishing the task faster.
Generally you want better gear to fight a formidable opponent, of which Warframe has NONE. there is nothing to gear up for besides the opportunity to do the same masks with randomly placed fodder everywhere but this time a little faster.
Because generally people want to get faster at something for a reason. If I'm paid for every X, doing more X faster makes sense.
If the only reason I'm doing X is to do X, you're playing the game to play the game less. Do you honestly not understand how this makes no fricking sense? If you want to play the game less, just stop playing it. Collecting every trinket in the game isn't going to improve your life in any way, it's pure FOMO garbage.
People like getting better at the game to accomplish new tasks in the game. Not going back and redoing identical tasks you've completed already. For me Monster Hunter is on the edge of being too much doing the same thing over and over because at least you can stop fighting the low level intro monsters after a while and are only fighting endgame monsters. Warframe is balanced where loot can come from anywhere so either the lowest level or highest content ends up being the most efficient way to get stuff and by the time you have endgame gear the difference between them is minuscule.
They have the opportunity of making a solid base to work on. Something Warframe did not have which resulted in a disjointed mess over time.

I think the biggest problem with this game is that they have decent ideas, implement them, and then never optimize and fully develop those ideas. It has been years since I played and I can bet the underwater or space combat levels are still shit.
