Wargroove 2

Surprised not to see a thread up already, is nobody playing it?

I'm only a few missions in but already enjoying a bit more Fire Emblem and a bit less Advance Wars in the mission design. There's clearly more variety here with defence and escape missions, not just 'capture cities and try to spam more units than the enemy', which got me burnt out on the first game pretty fast.

I looked forward to the first game a lot because i missed advanced wars but it felt so fricking soulless

    >Strong feisty black body positive female protagonist who need no man
    >Furry faction
    >One of the furry commanders is consistently referred to as "they" in the campaign dialogue
    >Everyone respects their pronouns, including the enemies who capture him thinking he's some mindless beast
Yes *nods*, definitely, this is a game that will be popular with the Ganker demographic.

Didn't the developers apologize for not having enough black people in the first game?

I don't care homosexual I'm playing for the gameplay not the writing. If you know an Advance Wars knock-off with better writing by all means recommend it. But I saw the first game discussed fairly often here so I assumed there'd be at least a handful of other people playing the sequel.

        Advance Wars.

Great anon thanks, and the last new installment in the series was when? I'm not even bothering with the demake.

But on the topic of Wargroove, frick me, this writing is genuinely painful. The gameplay is fun enough that I can enjoy it and just skip cutscenes (unlike FE Fates where I genuinely couldn't power through) but the 13 year old gay boy storyline was fricking obnoxious even as a literal homosexual myself. I especially like how they had to state he's 13 because he looks 8. I just want to smash skellies man.

There is a difference between homosexuals and homosexuals. You're a homo, and this game was written by homosexuals.

Yeah, you might have a point. Though I'm personally not convinced any actual gay person would want this 'representation' so I feel it's probably fat white women who identify as bisexual because they had a crush on Lady Gaga once. Nobody who has actually experienced homophobia would sign off on this shit.

            >storyline was fricking obnoxious even as a literal homosexual
I think most people nowadays don't have that big a problem with the gays. But flaming homosexuals and those that make their sexual preference their entire personality are still, well, massive homosexuals. If you are sane at least. Some people aren't, but even some people I know to be very over-sensitive to others plights, assumed or real, don't really like the gays.

animals are usually referred to as "they" in most situations
they are not a "he" or a "her"

No they are not, a buck/stallion/lion is a he, a doe/mare/bitch/lioness is a she. If you aren't using he or she, it is "it" or "the X" that is used, unless you are talking plural.

I enjoyed the first one a lot, even if it was pozzed. But this one looks so pozzed it will give me AIDS just from buying it.
Plus it was made by the Pathway devs so it's a guranteed piece of shit.

This thread is depressing. I thought at least on /vst/ people actually still talk about vidya and not identity /misc/itics horse shit.

Leftists refused to support and obnoxiously b***hed about games that didn't align with their sensibilities for years until eventually, despite them only making up a minority of games, they got the whole industry to buckle, kneel, and cater to their tastes. Why should we not copy a proven strategy if we don't like the level of pozzphilia in games and want them to be less pozzed in the future? I don't like this game's aesthetics, its characters, or its themes, so I won't buy it. Simple as.

Also, I thought the first game was supremely mid gameplay-wise, so it's not like I'm enthusiastic for its sequel anyway.

And we all ridiculed them for not even being into games in the first place. Is that what you are now? An asspained snowflake that spits the dummy over character design?

Anon, the asspained snowflakes won that culture war. They won it decisively. Obviously, being an asspained snowflake is the optimal strat if you want to see a certain type of change. Being stoic about these things just means all the stuff you enjoy will eventually be co-opted by outsiders who were more aggressive and vocal with their complaints than you were.

They didn't win by being asspained snowflakes.
Their masters decided to turn population into asspained snowflakes through media, NGOs and financial pressure.
Gutter puke like Wargrove is just a natural byproduct of deeply ill society.
