Their latest blunder was a laughable attempt at fixing the Assassin class in WotR by buffing its poison abilities while forgetting the simple fact that most bosses who are worth poisoning are immune to ability damage. For humans you can just reuse existing models. For Kroot they would have to make new assets not just for the character but all the potential gear they could use (or make it so that they have unique gear, but again unique assets). Still it really shouldnt be that expensive to make them and its DLC too, but I can see them also believing that nobody would buy a Kroot DLC so it wouldnt make its money back

40k is a fun setting though
unfortunately space marines are boring shit, though they can be exciting if you look at them through an occult psychological lens. 40k is a better setting than fantasy for exploring the warp and the implications of it.
The best thing about 40k though is the everyman stuff. You have a setting where your fear can actually under the right circumstances manifest demons. It blends the purely psychic struggles that everyone experiences with the possibility of them emerging in a more understandable physical.
The entire setting weakens the veil between the material and the astral and thats neat. And when you take the setting through this perspective and ignore anything dumb GW has injected to mess it up its really cool.
Warp travel for example is like 'using technology humans have figured out a way to take a piece of a lower emanation into a higher emanation and hold it together. The unpredictability of warp travel is due to physical space being replaced by conceptual space within the higher emanation, and so things like the beacon are not to be taken as a signal being sent through just really strange spoopy realm full of chaos plasma storms but a kind of conceptual focus that keeps you from losing yourself within a more primal and pure manifestation of the totality of all which your psyche is just not equipped to handle because its actually more complex but also easier to destabilize than the more simplistic but pure daemons.
40k is probably the best setting i know of if you want to sit around and think about it. A distant second would be kirkbrides TES stuff. Somehow, probably unintentionally, GW really managed to hit the right points. Their focus on space marine stuff tells me they dont actually understand that they did this, and that they were probably just channeling stuff serendipitously while laying down the groundwork for the setting.
40k is an interesting setting but it's way more limiting on what can be done in an RPG when compared to Fantasy.
