melee healer is meme shit but it's still the most fun you'll have in the game. play it until you get bounced off of groupfinder and go back to traditional style healing or just play a normal melee from the get-go.

It depends on your taste, but it can be. It's a somewhat complex tank that uses melee combos that will look suspiciously familiar if you've played FFXIV. The combos aren't as braindead worthless as FFXIV though and each step in the combo is potentially meaningful and you'll be juggling debuffs within the system.

If you aren't having fun by the time you get stealth you should pack it in.
I used to play a Knight and it was a blast. My sword hit like a wet noodle, but its the only melee tank class I've ever played that actually felt like the only thing that was keeping me alive was my armor, especially my shield.

It actually isn't bad, but it can't seem to escape the hard trinity. If your side lacks tanks and/or healers then you may as well sit at spawn and fap to dark elf fanart.
Not sure why people wouldn't wanna play tanks though. They felt amazing. Being able to actually block people from moving, the punting stuff. It was just great.

No.
No shield, no Guard, no array of debuffs, no tank.
A 2h Swordmaster or Blackguard might work for you. Blackguard is somewhat complex and engaging and probably the closest you'll get to dps gameplay as a non-dps.
If it's the pet that you like, Squigherder can be eaten by his own pet and you directly control it and it's reasonably tanky.
But no, White Lion is a really good dps and you should stick with that if you want to remain one.

Devs main order chars mostly. All nerfs in the last few years have been to destro classes. When something gets broken, order classes get fixed weeks before destro classes. Get to da choppa is janky and annoying but rampage is legitimately broken.
when i first joined the private server, shortly after the shutdown, they were using the unlimited trial client where every race spawn in a faction starting zone. once every race had his starter zone and not just two (destro and order)
Yeah, it's been ages since then. Not locked in Nordland anymore, all of the RvR maps are in and there's a new spin on Land of the dead they just added.
I want to go back... i really do but i get the feeling that it will be empty as shit and i wont be able to do, or will struggle to finish early content since im guessing most people are already at end game content.
That's sort of the case. Early game queues are rough and everyone sucks because they're new. It's not dead by any means, there are 24 shitting classes to alt on. But it can be slow. Once you reach level 16, you enter tier 2. About a year or 2 ago they threw all the tier 2/3 characters into the heap together so once you get to the top of that hill you have reasonably fast queues, rigorous RVR activity and people in general to play with.
There are flaws with such a wide ranged level sync of course, but it keeps the game going and with massive xp bonuses, it gives a fairly smooth path to leveling up.
Guys just wanted to say I'm so damn grateful for showing me this game exists. It's such a breath of fresh air to be able to pvp right from the start, no dailies, no logins, not even first win of the day bullshit (afaik). I can finally scratch that low lvl bgs itch. And all that in an universe I just started getting into by rediscoving DoW a few months back.

What im kinda struggling as a Zealot currently is targeting friendlies for healing. I turned on health bars and am aware of friendly target cycling, but I'm missing wow's raid frames where I can see friendlies hp and can tell whether they're in range or not.
The humie tanks are alright, they're boring in comparison but half their kit is basically autopilot auras.
Elfs have the best tanks. Swordboy has flexible debuffing, solid dps and good sustain while blackguard has the most involved gameplay and best debuffs.
Black Orc is okay. Trips over itself with some jank, but that just fits orcs better.
Dorf isn't a bad tank, it just isn't the best. A tank is a tank, the game isn't populated enough for people to be that picky even if the tank is shit.
i just want to play a frontliner dorf with cool looking plate armor that's all, especially after playing so much vermintide. is it normal to get btfo in sc as a tank? feels as though im barely doing any damage lol
Depending on the class, a tank is either at the front lines or protecting the squishies. As a Blorc, I'm at the front body blocking to keep gits from getting by.
Tanks are tanky as frick, especially with a shield, and IBs are the tankiest of them all. Sounds like a shortage of healers or the healers are shit. I could say you're overextending, but that's literally your job.

You're not supposed to as a tank but if you ever want to, with gear and a 2 handed weapon, IB can put out DPS level burst.
This game was really comfy and that server seemed decently managed. It's a shame and strange that the playerbase is pretty much non-existent. I don't know why anyone plays any MMOs or even some of these MOBAs and shit when you have servers like this, UO Outlands, and DAOC free servers which are just objectively good games.
It's not Nostalrius tier, but Reckoning's population is far from non-existent. If you and other people played it instead of complaining about low population on a good server then you'd solve the problem.

They both cause seething, but reckoning is very role dependent so bringing a healer instead of another dps is better.
I play dawi! always. But if you want easy mode, play Destro side, Devs favor them big.
Whatever you do, do it as a tank or a healer. DPS can be fun and all, but nothing is fun if all you end up doing is getting ruthlessly stomped.
