Warner Brothers Set To Delist All Steam Games Published By Adult Swim Games

Warner Brothers is slowly making the rounds to delist what looks like every game published by Adult Swim Games from Steam, citing vague "internal business changes".

Ridiculing you isn't equivalent to caring about the shit you're talking about. None of those games ever interested me, so them disappearing off of steam literally has 0 effect on me. This is true for most people. I'm reminding you of this so that you don't waste your time trying to make this seem like some sort of big deal or controversy. My post was a courtesy and you're interpreting it as an attack. This is pathetic behavior. I don't care about these games, but I do like mocking people that do stupid shit. Are you still going to feign confusion?

This is Ganker. Everyone who posts cares enough to post. This isn't some sort of gotcha accusation. A reply isn't the same as support or an expression of emotion over the topic itself. A huge portion of replies from one person to another are not discussing the topic. You know that. This reply is another example of that.

There are 200 threads on this board and you chose this one to enter and start posting in. This is the thread in your mind and on your screen. You care. And while you're arguing so vigorously about how much you don't care, I've been using you to bump my thread and attract people who do want to talk about the thread subject. What have you been getting out of this? Are you really satisfied with this "ridicule" you've been dishing out?

                >This is the thread in your mind and on your screen
Barely of the former and latter.

                >And while you're arguing so vigorously about how much you don't care, I've been using you to bump my thread and attract people who do want to talk about the thread subject
I don't care if this thread dies or gets 500+ replies. I'm not saging. I don't care if other people reply or if other people care. I'm not trying to suppress you, moron.

I don't spend my time on Ganker to get anything of value.

          It makes perfect sense
Hogwarts legacy took effort and won't make them money forever.
They realize that their increasingly diverse staff is getting increasingly incompetent and isn't realistically going to be able to produce anything good in the future.
Making good games is simply not an option for them, unless they go in like Elon Musk and fire 70% of the staff.
So they figure they need to find a way to make passive income forever without doing any real work or making actual products.
They see all the morons spending millions of dollars on skins, and subscriptions on online games and decide that's is the best option to siphon money from suckers with little effort.
          That is "the future".

Their only real mistake is assuming that gamers are so stupid they will buy anything. But these people probably figure gamers are adicts and everyone else will be cutting back or going to live service as well so there won't be too much competition.

They already tried this, and it failed so hard that they gave up on gaming outside of Mobile/F2P trash. They will fail in the mobile market as well. They will NEVER allow a coomer game like Nikki to be made with their IPs. Discovery is even more woke than Disney. • 3 months ago
      Anonymous

This only happens for a couple of reasons. Licensing issues and pre-emptively avoiding future legal nonsense, plans to open an exclusive storefront, or plans to rebrand under a different publisher. There are a few exceptions that are rare like plans to update a game to a different version to be resold under a different name, but that usually only happens with Japanese games when transferring games to new consoles so it's not relevant in this situation.

      >the government offers businesses a discount on their taxes if they can prove they had a big loss somewhere, but you have to destroy whatever it is you're calling a failure and never make money off of it again

Jazzpunk was a fairly big hit back when it released uhh.... 10 years ago? Been a while it seems.
That game later had its publishing rights reverted to the original devs though so it's not in danger here.
All this frickery around taxes does make me wonder just how much money do they owe to the government. I mean, aren't they only taxed on profits? If they have enough profit to worry about a massive tax bill then they're making enough to not have to worry about gutting the entire company, right?

Either one of the warnerbros accountants put down the wrong number in the wrong area or they tried fricking around with some tax loophole and uncle sam caught wind of it. The people these companies answer to are shareholders, not gamers. >publisher can simply remove any game they own from steam at any time they want, therefore making it impossible to buy unless it's on another storefront or platform
    >steamcucks will defend this

Nobody is defending this. I would just pirate, like I do games on all platforms if they aren't made available for a reasonable price.
      >SMT4A used was $90 on Amazon
Thats when I decided that I have both a moral and legal obligation to eternally pirate everything attached to Nintendo.

It's not like Steam has a choice, what are they going to do, just continue selling the game unauthorized? That's a nuclear legal landmine they'd step on.

They could just hire people to do wetwork. There'll be no shortage of ex-soldiers from Russia/ukraine.

      you don't say...

Pay attention indies, this is just another on the mountain of reasons you shouldn't use a publisher. Guerrilla market your game, bribe some streamers, whatever you have to do but don't sell your soul to some israelite corporation that can pull the plug on your hard work just for shits and giggles.

Duck Game has been on my wishlist since release, I never bought it cause I don't have friends to play it with, but I guess I'll buy it now. Maybe I do find a gaming gf in the future

I didn't say to buy anything. I explained what was happening, gave a list of the affected games, and pointed out the games on that list that I like. I'm not gonna put a link to a pirate site in the OP, people who want to do that know how to seek it out

Nothing really interesting to me on the list but thanks OP I wouldn't have known. So I guess WB is so assblasted about suicide bomb that they're gonna leave steam so their players can't be counted? rofl

Seconding Super House of Dead Ninjas and especially Duck Game, that shit is basically Timesplitters in 2D. I really came to love DESYNC as well. Score attack FPS that's part Bulletstorm and part Doom Eternal.

I still play Giant Boulders of Doom to this day. Sad to know it won’t get anymore IOS compatibility updates.

      see

Kingsway is cool but shallow as all frick, literally every run feels the same, starting class hardly matters, and you will see every event every run.

Anyway the only adultswim game that matters was freed from them years ago so no need to panic buy anything

I was worried for a whole second aswell

yet. Almost happened with Sony and discovery movies until they renewed the contract. It depends what the publishers demand.

I don't understand why the WB shareholders are fine with what's happening. The man is actively burning the company down from the inside and nobody with any pull seems to care
