Honestly long lasting single player games are big problem.
Imagine selling a cookie and the consumer is still happily gnawing on that dried out little thing after a decade.
Just eat up already and consume the next cookie!
How about you make cookies that are actually good and are not WORSE that those old cookies despite the fancy packaging and huge advertisement campaigns?
No. The cookies have to be just about edible. They need to be slop cookies with fancy packaging. They only give a tiny bit of diarrhea, the casual consoomer will not take notice of it. But will be desparate for a better cookie in the future.
It's really funny how people parrot this phrase everywhere now. It's quickly becoming the "brevity is the soul of wit". A phrase made to mock the very same people that use it in discourse.
Why are people complaining lately about people moving on from single player games? Why do you expect people to keep talking about them? This has happened with Hogwarts, re4 remake, Jedi survivor and Zelda totk. They are games where you beat the story and move on. They aren't multiplayer or live service games or whatever
See how they didnt answer your question? It because Ganker are a bunch of loathsome idiots that need to b***h about something to fill their misery void.
>This has happened with Hogwarts, re4 remake, Jedi survivor and Zelda totk.
Because those were all forgettable slop. A couple weeks of astroturfing and screeching how they "MINDBROKE Ganker" and then they just get dropped after a couple weeks, lol.
I think it's because people are looking for a game with some staying power, something that will have an impact or a legacy. People are still talking about Elden Ring, therefore it's an exceptional game. People still talk about Disco Elysium, therefore it's an exceptional game.
>People are still talking about Elden Ring
Where, on Ganker? You mean the same guy who makes the "Worst game" thread every afternoon, 6 months straight? Lmao.
Not every game is the next OoT. Not every kiss is your first. Or in 99% of people itt, none of them are I guess
Just ignore them. It's all literally troons who are still seething over the fact that people agree with JK and that all the games and thingd they hate and protest against end up making millions and make troons look worse.
JK Rowling is a dried up feminist libtard witch that just has a slight dislike for trannies, and she wasn't directly involved in the game.
>a bunch of long running series that have been in production for years and have many games and spin offs and continue to get games made. >vs the first game of a potential franchise.
Also if you really want to be technical >Harry Potter is a massive franchise that people still talk about and has other media produced. >People still talk about HP games and media.
>Most if not all of the franchises you listed either are dead or are now complete garbage.
These games were franchises exactly because they were good, people were excited about them for a long time and wanted more. No one really wants to see a "franchise" from a game that was just generic trash that got forgotten in a couple weeks. And yes, it's a HP licence yet it was forgotten so quick, despite all the shilling, clickbait and astroturfing. Crazy.
Also if you wanna talk more - Hotline Miami, Hyper Light Drifter, Shovel Knight or Hollow Knight were all new indie IP's, yet they managed to gather a ton of excitement, long-lasting discussion and copycats. >Most if not all of the franchises you listed either are dead or are now complete garbage.
Oh no, a troony homosexual with absolute garbage taste shitting on actually good games with actual legacy. Anyway...
It's a 40 hour single player game with little replay value. I played it, enjoyed it, and moved on to other games.
>it's a single player game
we've had kotor threads once a week at least for years, to say nothing of TES games
this is pure cope
the truth was when you strip away the controversy it was an okay but forgettable game
zoomers dont understand the concept of single-player non-live service videogames. they genuinely dont understand why someone would buy a game to only play it for 60 hours and then move on to something else
>the game has to be 'live sevrice' to be able to play it and finish it more than once >zoomers
What is the point of buying it if you're so disinterested in it? Good SP games are replayed and discussed to death decades later like
>DURRRR ITS A SINGLEPLAYER GAME PEOPLE BEAT IT AND MOVED ON WHAT THE FRICK DO YOU WANT
I just love how in every single thread like this overly defensive morons just confirm how this was a forgettable piece of generic slop
Old zelda games, the Metal Gear series, Deus Ex, Thief, Fallout games, Command and Conquer, Warcraft 3, Earthbound... there were so many singleplayer games released years ago that despite being singleplayer left a lasting impression on people and continued to be discussed, spark excitement and spawn continuations, tributes or copycats for fricking years and they still do. Meanwhile a game like Hogwash Legacy comes out and just dies weeks after release with zero cultural impact, long-term presence or meaningful discussion. The purest definition of trash
Only when said singleplayer games are forgettable slop. Hotline Miami continued to stay hot and spawn copycats for years and it's still fondly remembered. No one will remember Hogwash Legacy or the RE4Demake besides in terms of "that happened I guess"
It went from the next massive big thing, to it being disposed and forgotten in a few weeks. Only adding to the trauma of disappointment within the community. The last boss was so bad, it's like made bad on purpose.
People played it, completed it, had fun and moved on. The devs made it clear that they had no intention on bloating it with DLCs later, so it was already a complete game so after people finished with it, there wasn't much for continued discussion.
It's a single player game that a ton of people were talking about, and beat, within a month. There's no multiplayer or endless replay mode, so there's only so much you can discuss before you've talked about everything.
Aside from /vg/ autists who make their own fanfiction with their and other peoples' OCs there isn't really anything to talk about that hasn't been discussed to death already.
Maybe if some mod comes out that adds quidditch or multiplayer there'd be reason to talk about it again, but as it stands it's a decent single player game with no replayability.
>Streamers and paid actors stop shilling GAME >No one talks about GAME anymore
Happens all the fricking time you stupid Black person. Welcome to ad/v/ert, its only going to get worse with ai bots
Welcome to Ganker where we only talk about the new thing for 2-4 weeks and then move on to the next new thing and just shitpost and post off topic trash the rest of the time.
It's a singleplayer game and people finished it and moved on. It was probably also underwhelming for people who were hoping for a literal Hogwarts Simulator.
Why do you morons think we need to discuss the same game over and over again, it came and we shared our opinions then moved onto the next subject. No we didn't forget we just discussed it and have nothing more to say
Autistic people like to zero-in on a singular thing and obsess over it. You and I know this is crazy and unhealthy, but to a moron it's just part of living life.
Decent game, but like most things in the Harry Potter universe shallow.
Kind of like a theme park ride. Fun but not something you rave about afterwards.
It doesn't matter. The publisher and Rowling got their money and laughed at the supposed "boycott". Also, the game could only improve and when the sequel is released, people will flock again and there's nothing the freaks will do.
It turns out the game's only "value" was its contribution to the "culture war"; as a game it's basic Ubislop and ironically has all the "pozzed" content that people here usually get up in arms over like an unironic troony and tons of black and gay people.
Literally nothing to do in it right now. It's a fine game, but it's kind of a low point for a Harry Potter themed game as people generally agree that it loses it's charm when you start to really explore the world outside of Hogwarts, not to mention it really lacks roleplaying value a school sim which is what people really wanted out of the game. Until DLC content is announced and the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop arrives on other systems, it's kinda stagnant right now.
>DURRRR ITS A SINGLEPLAYER GAME PEOPLE BEAT IT AND MOVED ON WHAT THE FRICK DO YOU WANT

>Most if not all of the franchises you listed either are dead or are now complete garbage.
most of the singleplayers games are forgotten, few are remember even after years and even fewer leave a legacy after years or even decades. The game was very popular for a while, sold like 10 million on steam alone + PS5 and Xbox, 30 million or more.
Not all of games need to leave a legacy moron, Skyrim will remember even in 2040, but nobody is going to remember spider-man, bg3 or sekiro.
the people who still talk about those games are >losers >trannies >spergs (tautology) >speedrunners (double tautology) >balding 30+ year old manchildren (triple tautology)
so I fail to see the issue.
>zero cultural impact >after the bombastic success of the game WB is rebooting HP now that its clear that leftist hate isn't as important as normie apathy
This is a leftist game that had forced controversy only because the dried up feminist witch JL Rowling doesn't love trannies like she's supposed to. And she had no direct involvement in the game.
Nobody talks about those games regularly on Ganker though. There is absolutely nothing exceptional about the lack of discussion for HL than for any other triple A release like say TotK, GoW, Horizon etc. The only games from the last several years that had lasting threads for many months were games that had mockery and outrage attached to them, like TLOU 2 for instance. The only game in history that has had countless of threads and positive discussion on Ganker for months on end was Elden Ring.
I wouldn't mind talking about this game, but then the gay jannies just ban you for not discussing video games. It's literally an interactive Harry Potter fanficiton.
If you start a thread about Ocarina of Time, Deus Ex or Hotline Miami you're bound to get some discussion, excited/heated discussion even. If you post Hogwash Legacy in a couple years you won't get any response besides "that was a thing?"
You don't even go to the HL threads you moronic troony. Sebastian/Ominis/Anne have been discussed to death as well as Isidora's power. You're exhibiting a common psychological phenomenon called confirmation bias, though that's the least of your worries right now with what you've done to your hormones
Yes, maybe 2 weeks of centering your entire personalities around the game then you move on competely to whatever goes viral next. That's how troons like you roll.

You say that as though there's something wrong with any of it.
ok? oot and mm are memorable to me but I just played botw and totk once and will never touch them again. Old single player games are just better. this isnt a problem specific to hogwarts legacy as totk is forgotten too unlike oot and mm.
The thing is that the game offers little replayability so this is one of those games you beat and come back to several years later. The fact that you associate success with ""you just gotta talk about it a lot, copies (12 million copies) doesnt mean annnyytthiinngg!!!"" makes you look moronic. A game could fricking die in a week but if it sold 30 million copies the developers made a fricking hit and are SWIMMING in gold.
>singleplayer game with no microtransactions or DLCs or rereleases isn't discussed half a year later in an age of being constantly bombarded with new media every day
Woah, who could've thought?
Didn`t they completely fail to deliver on their sales pitch?
>No classes >No quidditch >No reactions from going full forbidden curses >Hogwarts is fine but you spend a lot of time on generic open world maps instead >Plot is forgettable >Tons of diversity in 1800 England >Students talking about underdeveloped countries education in a pre industrial revolution setting > Only 20 something spells
Performance sucked on ps4. Loading times out the ass >inb4 poorgay
yeah I know but that shit made it unplayable.
Also all the characters besides sebastian were completely lifeless, nothing felt like any quest had weight
>gayme jurnos don't report on it because Rowling is a " terf " >real people play and enjoy the time they have with it and maybe do a 2nd playthrough with a different house
It's awful. I can't ever bring myself to play it, I fall asleep almost every time I try to play it. It's baby's first "rpg" They were so afraid to put in anything remotely risky, or daring, or innovative. SO the end result is the most generic thing I have ever experienced.
I liked it, but the file size was too big to keep it around. Got like 5 hours in before I needed to make room for other games. What SSD size are you guys running?
yeah cause it advertised itself as anti troony and then had a troony in its hour 3 (right after the limit for refunds runs out on Steam) and then half the quests somehow find a way to mention that troony. Every character has to have at least one line talking about IT.
so everyone normal dropped it, and actual trannies and lefties were too invested in hating it to turn around and praise it
it's kinda bad anyway
just the fact that it's 1800s Hogwarts and everything looks completely different already makes it bad.
You think I'm buying "Hogwarts Legacy" to walk around a castle that only somewhat reminds me of Hogwarts?
You really think I want to play ANOTHER Arkham Knights auto-counter game?
You really think I want to spend 40 hours listening to gays, trannies and lesbians (it's for real every quest)?
BETRAAAAAAAAAAAYAL.
B E T R A Y A L. Betrayed me.
This game SUUUUUCKS.
It has NOTHING to do with Harry Potter. NOTHING.
I just wanted to play harry potter, and the shitty gacha mobile game is doing a better job of that currently.
What the frick am I supposed to talk about? I played the game, enjoyed the meme pet breeding and exploring for useless clothing parts. Why would I ever suffer through the slog that is the beginning again?
ToTK was forgotten faster and sold less.
It's a 40 hour single player game with little replay value. I played it, enjoyed it, and moved on to other games.
Co-worker told me you get different stories and shit to do depending on which house you join. Is each playthrough just 10 hours?
No, but there are only a handful of changes based on house outside of cosmetics.
No. There's one quest in the main story that changes depending on house, that's it.
Based
Stop asking questions OP. Consume product and move to next product.

Your kind likes to be contrarians for the sake of being contrarians. People enjoying things bothers your kind for some reason.

You're right, just like how GTA: SA and Metal Gear Solid were forgotten about after a matter of weeks and never discussed again 🙂
Probably a troon still mad about how hard their boycott failed.
Haven't seen a ToTK thread in weeks but sure troony whatever helps you cope.
>Haven't seen a ToTK thread in weeks
We have about two dozen TotK threads every day. There's 3 up right now.
you are still making threads about it while I haven't seen a thread about FFXVI yet and that game came out like a week ago??
Same with Dead Space, Resident Evil 4, etc.
But like others are saying, most single-player games are played once, talked about briefly and it's done.
Only when said singleplayer games are forgettable slop. Hotline Miami continued to stay hot and spawn copycats for years and it's still fondly remembered. No one will remember Hogwash Legacy or the RE4Demake besides in terms of "that happened I guess"

It's a single player game that didn't overstay its welcome.
We had some fun troony memes as well.
>MALE!
Isn't this just how things are now? Some big thing happens and it gets covered for a week then completely forgotten. It's normal right?
That's right.
People played it, completed it, had fun and moved on. The devs made it clear that they had no intention on bloating it with DLCs later, so it was already a complete game so after people finished with it, there wasn't much for continued discussion.

I enjoyed it.
I also don't buy that a singleplayer game is "forgotten" because I spent all February playing it and haven't touched it since.
I beat the game. I don't need to think about it anymore for years.
Trannies seethe over this game and its success.
I beat it already, I might do another playthrough around Christmas time.
>Was any game ever forgotten this quickly?

I got everything I expected other than quiditch. Best hogwarts simulator ever made.
You should expect better things, love yourself

Kind of like a theme park ride. Fun but not something you rave about afterwards.
It doesn't matter. The publisher and Rowling got their money and laughed at the supposed "boycott". Also, the game could only improve and when the sequel is released, people will flock again and there's nothing the freaks will do.
it's ok to play a single player game for a finite amount of time and I'm glad the shitposting meta is (slowly, but) finally moving on from this
what, you don't like the endless le tranie discourse over and over and over and over and over and over and over and and over and over again?
biggest buyers remorse I have felt in a very very long time
Beat it in 40 hours on release. Was fun exploring. What else is there to say?
It turns out the game's only "value" was its contribution to the "culture war"; as a game it's basic Ubislop and ironically has all the "pozzed" content that people here usually get up in arms over like an unironic troony and tons of black and gay people.

Not really. They enforced the gender roles so hard that you can't even visit the grils' dormitory if you're a guy. The nerve!
They also made a straight white couple harder to find than an actual unicorn, in 19th century England.

Won't buy it unless denuvo is removed.
It sold like 20 millions though but it was a shit game. Worse than Forspoken no joke. It sold on brand name alone.
So what do you want from the sequel?
It was a generic open world with a harry potter skin. Could've and should've been so much more. Where the frick is my hogwarts life sim.
Media stopped paying attention because it was decent.
All the journos and trannies wanted it to be horrible to justify their boycotts
No, everyone stopped paying attention to it because it was run of the mill trash. Even the troony controversy ran out of steam quick.
Why should it still have attention? It came out, people played it, DLC was confirmed not happening.
Performance sucked on ps4. Loading times out the ass
>inb4 poorgay
yeah I know but that shit made it unplayable.
Also all the characters besides sebastian were completely lifeless, nothing felt like any quest had weight
Soulless Ubislop
>gayme jurnos don't report on it because Rowling is a " terf "
>real people play and enjoy the time they have with it and maybe do a 2nd playthrough with a different house
It's awful. I can't ever bring myself to play it, I fall asleep almost every time I try to play it. It's baby's first "rpg" They were so afraid to put in anything remotely risky, or daring, or innovative. SO the end result is the most generic thing I have ever experienced.
are there any mods for this game? i wouldnt mind some mods to add more comfiness to the game
It's called marketing
I tapped out the moment I found out it wasn't a third person Sims/Bully set in Hogwarts. Thankfully I didn't need to buy the game to find out.
>People finished the game and moved on.
Wow.
Every patch broke it even more
DAKKADAKKA, i know you're reading this thread
Like it's single player game, we did all in it, no dlc, what's else to do?
>I listened to this song already, why should i ever listen it again, i know this song now.
I think this game is actually outselling ToTK in the UK
