>absurd amount of voice acting that consistently acknowledges the fact you die and repeat
Literally the best formula for a roguelike. That dying is integral to the story.

How do I get past Theseus and Asterion on a fresh-save hell-mode first-run?
I could beat Hades on a fresh-save, first-run that wasn't wasn't hell-mode. But now that hell-mode is a thing, and now that I've been thinking of replaying the game. I wanted to do hell-mode.
But I can't do it on hell-mode! I keep dying.
I am sure it doesn't help that I haven't played the game in a couple of years. But I did it without hell-mode, so I want to do it again. I don't want to start a new save file and not even win my first-run.
Now if only I could win so that I could unlock the rest of the game.
Loved it. Weapons were very satisfying to use and all of them enabled a different build. Game makes you feel like you're melting through enemies once you have a good build locked in, but still had me shitting bricks each boss fight. Play with hell mode enabled. Favorite build has been either sea storm chaos shield or hangover eris gun. Nyx is the most beautiful woman in a video game without contest, but frick Than. That moody b***h expects you to do all the work in the relationship and I only give him nectar after everyone else is at max hearts because of it.
Honestly going for merciless end is the only way I've seen first run completed. Base sword isn't my favorite to use and when I do its almost always aphrodite/artemis or hermes move speed shenanigans
I didn't like the progression system at all >Choose a Divine boon/Daedelus Hammer that will make the immediate run more enjoyable
Or >A handful of shadow/keys/affinity item that will eventually unlock more options down the line if you keep collecting them maybe
no
the gameplay was shallow and didnt offer enough variety in runs. There were like 3 enemy types per area and they could only ever get a super armor buff. There was also only one boss per floor which added to the repetitiveness. The game is also focused on roguelite metaprogression so enemy hp is massively bloated except the AI is braindead and you can spam dash attack or just stunlock the entire room. The metaprogression was also a massive timesink and the post game weapon enhancement grind was a slap to the face.
The only appealing factors is the art style and story but even then the story is meh and very easy to break if youre too good. For most people the appeal was farming +rep items and doing optional dialogue stuff.
In essence its a game to appeal to normalgays and redditors. Shallow and lacking in substance for anyone who actually plays games but stylish and high budget enough to make normalgays think it was GOTY
Same. I think I finished 4 or 5 runs but then I couldn't take going through the same 3-4 zones anymore. Bosses varied somewhat but not enough to keep my interest.
Its one if the worse roguelites, Its above shit like rogue legacy and dead cells but well below Nuclear Throne and Isaac, but one of Darren Korbs worst soundtracks carries it
It's been pretty fun. My only complaint is that putting on extra difficulty modifiers doesn't give you any extra darkness or gems and it seems like you need a metric shit ton of them.
Fun for the first couple of hours but then you unlock all the weapons and realize it’s one of the most poorly designed unbalanced midwit games ever. The only practical approach is to pick whatever broken op aoe skill you can get your hands on. There’s zero planning or strategy in combat just mash every button on your controller at all times, doing that will carry you through an entire run every time
The concept is cool and the aesthetic is really nice, but the gameplay hurts my hands so I had to quit. Though even apart from that I don't think it would've held my interest for longer than the six hours I played
Im still ambivalent on whether Hades deciding to just let you go on the 10th attempt instead of giving his absolute all like he does on Extreme Measures is a good thing.
It was okay overall
Death's romanceable
What annoys me is that with him you cant even reject him, the most you could do is tell him "we'll take it slow", while with Meg you can go the "just friends/amicable exes" route.
I got about 100 hours out of it, pretty good
I just wish there was an endless mode. I always felt like my builds were only really complete by styx, at which point the game is basically over.
I was upset that it was a roguelike but grumpily accepted it. I got excited thinking they would use the massive profits to fund a real game sequel. Imagined going on a real adventure, actually interacting with all the gods, all the fixings of a proper rpg. But nope, more roguelike with shitty characters
Yea.
Troonslop
Pozzed garbage
>Pozzed garbage
literally all the characters are white (european phenotype) with a different shade of skin color
Nuh-uh
Eh. The broccoli-head is a minor side character. But touché I guess.
chaos is a light skin homie fr
Chaos is fricking nothing. If you look at Chaos and get upset about Black folk then that's genuinely just your own demons haunting you.
I'm not that anon I actually love chaos' design you just said "literally all" and I wanted to mention /ourlad/
That homie lookin' ZESTY
That's a tree, anon.
troony game

>Gankertards hate it
yeah it's great
Go back
I wish I could but that Ganker doesn't exist anymore.
It was well polished, but it lacked content and was super imbalanced even for a roguelite.
Great games tend to generate a lot of seethe on Ganker, so you can surmise that the game is a 10/10.
i hated it because it was a roguelike
the roguelike people seem to hate it because it's not random enough
so i can surmise no one likes this game

Getting Athena's legendary helps. But that's like. Just luck.
Everything minus the shit-tier women were kino.
>shit-tier women
so every girl that wasnt Artemis?
yes
Utter fricking travesty and cultural erasure.

I like the ending. Pretty comfy. I hope the sequel follows up on the whole hades vs olympus thing. Having a new character feels iffy for me.

The only time I’ve ever felt enemies were too bulky was when I used the default sword and spear.
they feel bulky for me because I stunlock them in a big crowd and then get carpal tunnel from spamming M1
i pretty much agree with all of this. good post anon.

Astroturfed by discord trannies
Boring. I don't understand the appeal. I have it on disc. Might sell it soon.
Good art
Good music
Solid combat
Not enough bosses, not enough variability between runs, not enough basic enemies
You can still like a game, even if the fanbase is cringe. e.g. (Undertale, Ultrakill, Helltaker)

no. dead cells is more fun. sure it's got lots of unique voice acting which is pretty cool but the gameplay isn't the most fun.

no, it's style over substance
there's like a dozen builds in total, frick off
>dozen
like 4 max
half of the boons are so shit it makes RoR2's item pool look like its pure gas
despite Black person Ares and manface Aphrodite it had great gameplay
It was pretty boring and the art is bad.
Anyone else 100% it on Steam? I don't think I was actually having fun doing it, but I was in autistic mode.
yup @300 hours
I don't think I got all those furniture items though
>built for throating wiener 24/7
>can't romance her
>homosexual Death's romanceable
>Achilles portrayed as a homosexual fricking a moon cricket
achilles was also seen as gay in ancient greece
