The one guy was a doctor which is brought up as a reason, but that doctor also couldn’t tell the difference between dog and human bite marks so not sure he graduated top of the class in medical school
Also the pregnant black lady whose kid may or may not be his Carver has some terrible taste in women

Lee WAS a recently convicted criminal who was recently on his way to jail - a fact Larry would likely have been aware of given that he keeps up with the news. Really, it's astonishing that only he and Carly were aware of that fact out of everyone else in the first season was the stranger aware? I don't remember.
