Amazing music.
Nice graphics (at the time) and world design.
Engaging story (the main quest is kinda meh but some side quests are nice) and memorable characters. I fricking hate the Toussaint story line though.
Beautiful girls.
Too bad the combat sucks ball. Gear leveling is ass (99% of the swords/armors aren't worth shit). This is the reason why it will forever be a second rate open world game.
What open world story driven game has good combat? W3's is definitely not worse than Kingdom Come's combat or Zelda's combat. It's not very good but it's not nearly bad enough to ruin the game.
Kingdom Come's combat is great, it has a bit of a learning curve but once you get the hang of it you can slice through entire armies. Witcher 1 combat though, wtf was that abomination.
its a historical hangover from back when souls games were big and any game that overshadowed them would get fans going "every non fromsoft game has bad combat, the end"
discussing combat is impossible on this site
i've seen 500 post threads anons unironically arguing skyrim has the best combat out of all the ones you mentioned
GoT's combat is barely a step over TW3, it's still very barebones with a binary stance system and rock-paper-scissor approach to a lot of enemies. The only cool thing about it is how sharp parrying is in style and feel compared to parrying in TW3 and better ranged & horseback combat.
It's terrible. Built for crowd-based brawling like rocksteady Batman or classic AC but the way your character moves and tracks opponents is cumbersome AF
The input system is also janky and terribly designed
I love this game. I'm currently doing a playthrough. One question though, what is this stuff in front of houses, at the top? This thing that looks like an Assassins Creed's jumping point or something. kek I couldn't find anything about it online.
the sunset river made me think it was hitmans bangkok level
imagine teasing the player with the possibility of a lush, thailand river-side level replete with temples, pagodas, gardens, and touristy areas, only to make the player run up and down the stairs in copy-pasted hotel levels
I couldn't get into 1, never tried 2 then enjoyed 3. But knowing all the characters would have certainly been nice. You can piece most of it together though.
Witcher 1 and 2 are entirely disconnected from Witcher 3, especially since W3 can use simulated save states.
That being said, Witcher 1 is the most "witcher" atmosphere because Geralt drinks, fights, fricks, and investigates seriously. The entire second chapter is one big murder mystery and it's possible to ruin many people's lives if you do a piss poor job of being a witcher. It also helps establish the Witcher world through numerous in-game books, character entries, and politics.
Witcher 2 is a visual feast that is bogged down by MANY gameplay issues. Were there some good ideas? Yes. But the save bloat, the meaningless third act, the slow movement speed, the lack of freedom in using potions, and mandatory skills requiring meta knowledge to pass certain quest objectives in less than an hour hurt. There's also the fact that one path in the game is clearly unfinished and was introduced for no reason other than because someone remembered there was a path split in W1. Still, W2 is an interesting experience solely because it shows just how much the developers improved when making W3.
>Rich themes >Breathtaking Visuals >Best minigame of all time >Memorable cast of good characters >Amazing side quests >Great writing >Engaging dialogue >Fantastic soundtrack >Top atmosphere >Fantastic art direction >Keeps getting updates and care by the devs >Top tier expansions >Fun to play (dont get the hate) >Immersive world >Rich worldbuilding >Makes moron seethe eternally
The "hating gameplay" comes from players discovering that igni could ignite enemies, which would prevent them from attacking and therefore made the game "easy". That's it. They got mad that in a single-player game they played the same way as everyone else, meaning the game is bad.

Horizon Zero Dawn
Unironically Cyberpunk after 2.0.
no, and if you disagree you're on the same level as the
>i don't listen to modern music because it all sucks
morons.
horribly overrated
Lmao are you kidding? the last game with true soul was Death Stranding, TW3 is the weakest game in the series
I'm really tired of this "TW3 has bad combat" meme
thanks for proving their point
Please tell me you're posting this ironically.
yes, the post about your mother's pussy smell wasn't, though....

RDR2 freeroam. It's just a shame the story mode was so soulless.
>Ubisoft Bamham Simulator
>Soul
1>2>3, always.
Alright, Ganker.
What did I think of it?
Great game. That's it.
you wasted all that time on a shitty game and came to Ganker for validation
it was one of your most treasured experiences
chill trooncel, you;ll pass eventually
do i need to play witcher 1 and 2 to enjoy 3

It's really the GOAT.

Nah gameplay has been bad through all Witcher games with it entirely revolving around spamming left click mindlessly to win.
roboquest.
Perks are pretty weak but man the movement keeps me coming back.
Also music is insane.
