This utter piece of shit derailed the entire franchise and killed Shadow's character forever.
If you like it then you're a moronic zoomer who was born too late.
Simple as.
All things considered, Shadow wasn't a bad Sonic game. It didn't have crazy physics, it wasn't filled with a million bugs, it was just a game that fricking worked and was moderately fun. I feel like if they dropped the whole "replay every stage 4 times to get 12 endings that are actually just 3 endings but slightly different to unlock the true ending" bullshit, it would lead to a tighter experience with better storytelling and gameplay.
>Shadow wasn't a bad Sonic game.
It was bad and not even a Sonic game
It didn't have crazy physics
This is bad.
it wasn't filled with a million bugs
Yes it was, especially on the PS2 version
it was just a game that fricking worked and was moderately fun.
No it wasn't. The missions suck. Team Chaotix was a mistake.
Why is not having crazy physics bad? i remember a lot of people hated how slippery Sonic Heroes was, especially in speed formation where you'd sometimes accidentally run or jump off platforms. Or Sonic 06's bizarre physics that would send you into the stratosphere and kill you. Or clip you into a building and softlock you.
>Why is not having crazy physics bad? i remember a lot of people hated how slippery Sonic Heroes was
Black person it literally is sonic heroes. ITS THE SAME FRICKING ENGINE
>People complained about having to play as sonics dumb friends instead of Sonic (And by extension tails and knuckles) with go fast platforming >People really liked Shadow at the time >People legitimately enjoyed the darker, edgier more realistic storylines the series seemed to be adopting for the adventure titles over the more lighthearted take in heroes
In theory, it was an amazin game, Remove the friends, all sonic gameplay, AND starring shadow.
IF it had run on the same engine as Adventure 2, it would have been received as amazing
The dogshit 20 fps engine they used for Sonic Heroes was so bad it made the game look awful and play awful. No idea why they switched over to it and used it again.
Sonic heroes only managed to sell around 1million more copies than SA2, despite the fact SA2 was a Dreamcast and gamecube exclusive and heroes was on literally every platform.
Alright. Real talk. Everyone talks about wanting chao garden back but do people actually care that much? I've never gotten into big into chao, it was too much busywork for me.
If he's going to be part alien, I want something cool to come out of it. So far its mattered diddly squat, especially now that Black Arm genocide was successful. Kind of a shame to introduce a whole new faction and then immediately kill them off, but oh well.
I keep forgetting the comics exist, are they worth looking into or naw? I keep thinking of Sonic comics as like, the Adventure of Sonic the Hedgehog type shit and I have no idea how they're going past that era.
A black arms rival is a cool idea, but I'd prefer one that.... looked like a black arms and not a deviant art OC to be honest
There's moments of gold but overall no not really. IDW is too bland only having starline being worthy of note and Archie is either gold ideas or fanfic garbage to both ends and it's exhausting
It had some good ideas like the story with alt paths and generally level ideas were not that different from SA2. The problem is guns ruin it because using them kills the momentum and aiming is fricking clunky while guess what? Guns deal more damage than homing jumps so you are pushed to using them.
It's extremely average and plays about on par or worse Than some licensed kids cartoon games of the time. That said the Crush 40 song goes fricking hard and I listen to it all the time.
Will Year of Shadow end in an abject failure like Year of Luigi? Also, what the frick was with that shitty video Sega had for Year of Shadow? It was just some white girl playing on her bike and being emo about having to move town, who gives a shit?
>Wahh wahh how dare sega make a simple uplifting video showing a kid being sad/anxious about moving town and feeling inspiration from shadow to be fearless and benefiting from the confidence
How jaded r u
It doesn't? Sonic is as much a brand as it is video games now
They use the games to promote the merch and the merch to promote the games
If you look at the actual Year of Shadow website you can see they're promoting >Sonix x Shadow Generations >Sonic Superstars >A sonic popup cafe in California doing shadow themed shit (That also sells clothing merch I guess?) >A touring sonic themed concert >A shadow the hedgehog lego set >Events for Sonic Dash and Sonic Forces mobile featuring shadow stuff >A cross promo with something called Moto GP? Some sort of motorcycle racing sport thing I guess?
This utter piece of shit derailed the entire franchise and killed Shadow's character forever.

Simple as.
No
cope
>cope
Cope with the fact that your first Sonic game was this piece of shit.
You can't.
Wrong, moron. Cope some more.
>Derailed the franchise
That would be the Wii games. Also Generations no matter what Classictards say.
>black hedgehog is the one that commits crimes and carries a gun
What did they mean by this?
I AM ALL I AM
No, kid me enjoyed it and says it was good so I'm inclined to believe him.
It's kino.

Shut up, you whiny homosexual

It was mid
I enjoyed it for what it was, but hate the retcon of Shadow’s death and suddenly he’s part alien.
If he's going to be part alien, I want something cool to come out of it. So far its mattered diddly squat, especially now that Black Arm genocide was successful. Kind of a shame to introduce a whole new faction and then immediately kill them off, but oh well.
I know the comics are pretty bad overall but giving shadow a permanent black arms rival was a good idea from it
I keep forgetting the comics exist, are they worth looking into or naw? I keep thinking of Sonic comics as like, the Adventure of Sonic the Hedgehog type shit and I have no idea how they're going past that era.

it was alright. just add chao garden and add more extra enemies for the objectives or reduce the amount required
It had some good ideas like the story with alt paths and generally level ideas were not that different from SA2. The problem is guns ruin it because using them kills the momentum and aiming is fricking clunky while guess what? Guns deal more damage than homing jumps so you are pushed to using them.
SHADOW SEXO!!!

movie 3 alone will do insane numbers
This the movie is basically a hit regardless if there's another black wedding or not
>Wahh wahh how dare sega make a simple uplifting video showing a kid being sad/anxious about moving town and feeling inspiration from shadow to be fearless and benefiting from the confidence

What the frick does it have to do with video games though?
It doesn't? Sonic is as much a brand as it is video games now

That shit was fricking gay. come the frick on now.
homie its for kids too, not just you
Kids will think that shit is lame
Kids that like sonic will think anything with sonic attached to it is cool
that is what the millennials making that ad think will happen. Kids aren't as NPC as you think
I dont care if it was considered good or bad, I enjoyed the game and had fun
if they don't remaster shadow the hedgehog for the year of shadow then there's no fricking point
What new content would they add tho?
What did you think Sonix x Shadow Generations was?
And it ain't fricking "Fearless"
