It was alright. I found it pretty fun, and the design choice decisions like revisiting the same hub areas was nice for a one-off game. It had flaws like the Imprisoned, but not enough that I'd outright dislike it.

I can see what they're doing with The Imprisoned to add urgency to the situation but they should have left it at two fights max.
Yes, it took Aonuma-style Zelda design to its logical extremes of railroading and filler busywork, topped off with Fujibayashi beginning his WE WUZ revisionism of Zelda lore and trappings. BotW just ran way too far in the opposite direction of game design yet doubled down on Fujibayashi's retooling of the Zelda world. BotW had promise as a basis for a truly excellent game, but instead with TotK they just spent years polishing shit with little regard to how well it'd actually stick to the BotW wall. Zelda is fricked because games will either only be repetitive open world slop or overly linear theme park shit, with no meaningful in-between or refinement.
I hated how every time you load your game, when you pick up an item, it acts if its your first time picking that item. Really annoying. Not sure they fixed it in the remaster but hated it in the wii release.
Also overworld is a whole lot of nothing. I was fine with it in wind waker but skyward sword made it worse.
