you think that because you played the game at the wrong age
i was 13 when it came out and they nailed everything with that character. it's the angsty teen fantasy/model that appeals to the type of weirdo who played video games in the 90s
his character arc basically from "i hate people, girls have cooties" to "i love my girlfriend and would do everything for her" reflected the same thing we were going through
What was wrong with Vaan? FF12 was pretty based in general.
vaans story arc doesn't really tie into the main story past the first few hours. from early on in the game he feels like a tag-along in a party of much cooler, more impactful people. i like 12 a lot but ain't no one keeping vaan in their party
His identity as a commoner and character development help Ashe decide not to use magical nukes on the empire. But yeah he felt like a less-well-done Tidus who meant less to the plot in most ways.
>Salt Flats >take what I assume is the optional path >it's the main path >continue to Esthar and I'll just go back later >later the Salt Flats are blocked off permanently
Frick this game
Will they... Will they talk about me this way if I die, too? Squall was this and that. Using past tense, saying whatever they want? So this is what death is all about... ...Not for me. I won't have it!!
Had me going until the very last point. Almost every video game protagonist will kill a ton of people, it's one refusing to kill the big bad that stands out. Usually in a negative way because it's so stupid.
The best.
This
Of course it helps that he's the most fleshed out MC by far, like 1/3rd of the game's text is his inner monologue
Yeah, but most of that is whiney, condescending shit. He's completely unlikable and pretty fricking autistic now that I think of it.
he's a teenager, it's a coming of age and it resonates with a lot of men who were also angsty and introverted in their youth
>He's completely unlikable and pretty fricking autistic now that I think of it
No wonder I found him so relatabe
He's unlikable in person but enjoyable from the other side of the tv screen

You didn't grow up.
hje's just like me
>wears autistic looking coat to school
>everyone thinks i'm a fricking weirdo and not aloof or distant
Discout Cloud. The entirely of ff8 is just discount ff7
OG Cloud of gay Advent (Modern) Cloud?
7 is discount 6
He's great and literally the only good character in the whole game
>7 is discount 6
Unironically the most competent of them all.
Yeah but the supporting cast were really lacking besides Laguna
Whatever.
Nope all the time he doesnt want to move on with the plot
he was okay until the romance kicking in out of the blue on disc 3 ruined him.
Ended up being one of my bottom 4 FF leads alongside Vann, Lighting, and Noctis

he felt unnecessary

Best aesthetic for sure.

better call squall
I WONT LET YOU ALL TALK ABOUT ME IN THE PAST TENSE
>A MI NO ME VA!
> Proceed to kill his parents with a katana

The Holden Caulfield of video games, so yes. If you don’t like him because of angst then that’s fair but you may be missing the point.
The coolest
No, but most of the protagonists after him were worse in ways I couldn't even fathom at the time.
Clive is alright
i don't like what's going on with the face here, why did they have to change his look? Is this official art for the remake?
