No. Abortion is murder
birthrates of 1000 children a year are not sustainable in any civilization. they're just way too overpowered, bioware should have tuned down at least one of their aspects like their lifespan or their physical strength
Spot on, even with cultural limitations on breeding they would still overrun the galaxy without the genophage. Also they were fucking maniacs in the rebellions, in a galaxy where habitable planets are an insanely precious resource they thought it was fine to launch asteroids at them. Cunts were doing next level intergalactic war crimes yet BioWare still made them out to be sympathetic. Retarded shit
Also the only reason people think the genophage is bad is cus of krogan squadmates and genocide bad (even tho the race in question are all sadistic violent bastards). The Salarians are retarded for uplifting them but realistically a race that aggressive and uncivilised would be forcibly removed from the galactic community
I mean, can you really justify keeping the genophage if it means killing Solas and hurting Wrex?
Yes because the fate of the galaxy rests on that choice and even if it's fucking shitty and feels terrible to do dooming future generations just because they're your friends is retarded. It's the kind of decision that would haunt a man for the rest of his days but ultimately there is only one answer that ensures the future for everyone as a collective.
>haunt a man for the rest of his days
Jokes on you I blow myself up like 5 hours after that
I put down wrex because I didn't like the way he looked at Ashley one time.
Filthy frogger
>Also the only reason people think the genophage is bad is cus of krogan squadmates
This is it, really. No one ever gave a single fuck about the vorcha or the batarians or whatever the fuck the shadow broker race was. The moment you make a single Krogan a squadmate the whole moral dilemma goes to shit because all anyone is going to care about is which decision makes the squadmate happy.
I am now referring to the genohage of the Krogan, the extermination of the Krogan people. It's one of those things that is easily said: 'The Krogan people are being exterminated', says every Council race, 'this is very obvious, it's in our program, elimination of the Krogan, extermination, we're doing it, hah, a small matter.' And then they turn up, the upstanding 80 billion Council races, and each one has his decent Krogan. They say the others are all swines, but this particular one is a splendid Krogan.
To be fair BioWare did the same thing for the elves in Dragon Age
genophage was bad because Krogans are based.
Should have genocided those weird rock creatures or the blue squid heads or the only race in the galaxy which has multiple races, some of those races need a mass culling if you know what I mean.
>birthrates of 1000 children a year are not sustainable in any civilization
uh yeah it is?
I mean per female. If your birthrate is that high then your death rate needs to be really high too, which isn't typical of a technological civilization
Yes.
I like Krogans but honestly speaking they are like morons. Both are funny but at the same time dangerous for any society.
The Krogan was physically OP and they bred like mad and multiplied. The genophage did take it far but the Krogans were a war mongering species. The Salarians and Turians did what they needed to survive, how else would you curb the Krogan's warpath?
I would say the problem with the genophage is that it wasn't enough to ensure a positive change in krogan culture.
>use genophage
>ban krogans from space-faring
>outlaw use of krogans as mercenaries, muscle, etc
>deport any and all non-diplomacy krogans back to homeworld
>research cure for blood rage
>deploy cure
After that the Krogans will be forced to solve their situation internally, until Wrex or a Wrex-like leader emerges and guides the Krogans into one unified race that is ready to re-enter the galactic community. I also think the citadel should do something similar with the Vorcha.
>I also think the citadel should do something similar with the Vorcha.
And the batarians?
>And the batarians?
Destroy
The Batarians did nothing wrong
use of krogans as mercenaries, muscle, etc
>Whoops all krogan mercenaries now works in Terminus systems, Alliance systems, batarians systems with no tool to restrain them
i thought vorcha were doomed to be retards or something
They can be raised non-violently and come out alright, that's what some Asari did. The reason why it isn't pursued more is because they are too short-lived but some scientist believe it's possible to extend their lifespans. A vorcha plan would likely have STG figuring out how to make them live as long as the Salarians or close.
Vorcha live to be like 10 years old and are basically useless as sentient individuals because of it
I get what you're saying, but once the Krogan were given FTL travel and communication there was no putting that particular genie back in the bottle.
While it was an understandable reaction, it was ultimately a bad solution to the Krogan expansionism problem.
It was either that or completely genociding them. The only real issue with the Genophage was in its execution: rather than simply lowering their birthrates, it also resulted in countless stillborn babies. The psychological toll of these losses on the collective Krogan psyche must have been devastating, especially to the females of the species.
Frankly they should've been bombed out of existence for being a galactic mistake. If not for the Salarians wanting an experiment in uplifting, they would've just been another pre-spaceflight species that couldn't pass the great filter like the Yahg.
They wouldn't need soldiers to defeat the Rachni if they had the balls to do some extreme orbital bombardment but since the Council are such pansies they doomed the galaxy to suffer the Krogan menace for millennia.
Uplifting them to be soldiers in the Rachni wars was wrong on many levels. At least it taught the Council that lesson very clearly.
>They wouldn't need soldiers to defeat the Rachni if they had the balls to do some extreme orbital bombardment
Iirc they tried but the Rachni burrow so deep you'd have to pretty much crack every planet, as in complete obliteration until it's space dust, just to ensure you got them all.
It’s the asaris, retarted race not fit to lead the galaxy. They should be turned into a race of sex slaves like the twileks and let galactic matters to humans and turians
>They should be turned into a race of sex slaves like the twileks and let galactic matters to batarians
Ftfy
>Mfw Javik implies this is exactly what the Asari were being engineered to be before the Reapers showed up
The only thing I dislike about him is that he was day one DLC when he obviously should have just been in the game from the start.
No but the Vorcha on the other hand should've been exterminated, they're a pest.
Batarians too but they would've eventually been genocided by humans in self-defense.
All Krogans really do wrong is... be really good at the things they do. They were no different from Protheans other than Protheans appearing more sophisticated to their vassal races.
it was Genophage or genocide
all and all they got the best deal with the genophage
it's not moral by any means, but its the lesser of two evils
Yes. They're basically the equivalent of cane toads in Australia, right down to looking ugly as fuck.
I legit don't understand how a cold blooded herbivore with 3 digits can possibly be a threat to anyone.
4 testicles means they're overflowing with testosterone
>he never played the games
go figure
I played 1&2 and they only looked cute with their tiny arms that can't hold their weapons.
hey I actually liek how they fight with their babby arms
>lispy queer krogan
what the fuck? glad I never played this shit game.
Yes. The Krogan were literally gonna conquer all the Citadel species.
It was justified at the time as a reaction, but not justified for Shepard to continue it since they are dying out and it would take thousands of years for them to re-reach the numbers that caused the rebellions in the first place. By which point technology would have advanced beyond relays, allowing galaxy wide Krogan lebensraum. Even if theyre stuck with relay systems they can just take b*tarian and as*ri whore planets.
>b*tarian planets
Sure
>as*ri whore planets
By the goddess, are you mad?
>>as*ri whore planets
>By the goddess, are you mad?
Liaragay spotted. Asari are the worst race. They had all knowledge, including info about Reapers and the Crucible, and they did nothing with it.
>they did nothing with it.
They still accomplished things that were vital to the success of the cycle, establishing the citadel as a galactic democracy allowed for the cycle to hit the reapers with the best of most of the galaxy, they also prevented the Turians from stunting the development of the humans by preventing a war from breaking out between the two. They could've done better but they weren't completely useless.
sorry man but blue pussy trumps that
>since they are dying out
That is the fault of no but themselves, Wrex even fucking admits this to you outright in the first game. The Krogan are why they are dying out because they can't manage to not be violent retards. Even Wrex who sounds like a level head person outright says he argued for the Krogan to wait and build up their numbers before continuing. Keep that key point there in mind, no where until the asspull ending does he ever talk about not being the dogshit war based retards the Krogan are. The only point that brought him into conflict with his dad was saying "hey, we need to pump the breaks and rebuilt our numbers for a decade to a century then we can do this".
The Krogan have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt they deserve to die out because even when faced with extinction their first, and only, impulse is to continue being the violent assblasted fucktards they've always been.
Why doesn't the citadel do anything about the Drell planet? Aren't they basically starving to death en masse? I don't get why only the Hanar seem to care, the Drell aren't dangerous like the Krogan or responsible for anything dangerous like the Quarians but their species potential extinction doesn't even seem to matter in galactic politics.
Because by the time the Hanar made contact, in the 1980s ce according to the wiki, the planet was already in a death spiral. The Hanar did the best they could in 10 years but Citadel politics move at a glacier pace and at the time who knows if they even had the resources to muster a full planet evacuation.
It never happened but it should have
it was probably a little overkill. enough salt should have shriveled those frog fucks
I say the genophage didn't go too far enough.
Yes and I'd genocide them again if I had the chance.
Are Krogans the muslims of ME?
Without genophage, the reaper invasion wouldn't have lasted a day before Krogan ruled galaxy would have BTFO'd the Reapers. Harbinger would have been ripped to pieces by midday and then it's back to rutting and fighting amongst themselves for Krogans.
No, but it was necessary because the Krogan would have 100% waged war to claim more worlds and one because they breed like Salarians, live as long as Asari and fight like Turians while simultaneously being harder to kill than literally any other race in the galaxy. Uplifting them was the mistake.
Krogan were the evolutionary answer of biological life to Reaper cycle. Salarians fucked with the natural order of life force and paid the price with countless billions of lives in Reaper war. Should have just let nature do its work and we'd have homogenous galaxy ready to swat reapers back to intergalactic space instead of diverse woke-fest that was wholly unprepared to reapers we got in the games.
Wrong, life's answer was Shepard.
Yeah, after Salarians fucked with life's plan, life started herding the chaotic human DNA into pathways that created Shepard. Who cured the genophage, had a galaxy shattering bromance with the Krogan leader and gave Krogan their rightful place in galaxy. Shepard was the Jesus to Krogan race, the designated rulers of galaxy. He fulfilled destiny.
The Citadel is over Earth.
The Citadel is the last attempt of machine intelligence to dominate biological life. But you can't win against life force, it's only matter of time before some drunken Krogan drives his dreadnought into Citadel and it crashes into Earth with great laughter from Krogan lads. Life finds a way.
A CITADEL FLEW OVER MY HOUSE!
>we'd have homogenous galaxy ready to swat reapers back to intergalactic space
Would we? Who's to say the Krogan would have such a neat and tidy path? The Krogan colonies could go to war with each other and Tuchanka, and wind up exterminating each other via orbital bombardment. They might exterminate all the other species, then exterminate all the galaxy's resources with their reproduction rate and then die off.
>The Krogan colonies could go to war with each other and Tuchanka
Inter-species warfare keeps the species strong, strong enough to face the reapers.
>wind up exterminating each other via orbital bombardment
Krogans shrugged off nuclear holocaust in one planet, I'm sure they can shoulder occasional orbital bombardments. What does not kill you, makes you stronger.
>They might exterminate all the other species
If they are weak enough to succumb to Krogan, they wouldn't have a chance against reapers. Such is life, the survival of the fittest might seem cruel but against the threat of machine intelligence it is the only way for biological life to survive.
>then exterminate all the galaxy's resources with their reproduction rate and then die off.
You are vastly underestimating resources on galactic scale. Even one solar system has enough shit in it for trillions. Multiply that with about 100 billion solar systems for galactic scale.
It's justified on the grounds of self-preservation, If you had the means to stop a superior species from rising above yours, you would be foolish not to use it.
Yes. Also, Wrex should be executed on Virmire.
If you do a renegade playthrough, it's the best outcome
>Mordin survives
>Wreav leads and is fooled by you, you keep the Undrot clan war asset
In premise yes but the way it was executed was retarded.
Same with Krogan uplift in the first place.
The council race are a bunch of midwit liberals, no spine. If you don't want krogans, just outright genocide them, don't keep a shiny statue of them while they slowly die off. If you want to be "le hecking galactic democracy", just let every race in the council instead of having "lesser races" in embassies
The Genophage was flawed and needed to be perfected into a true genocide.
>keep rachni alive in me1, again in me3
> save wrex in 1, kill maelon in 2, sabotage in 3
>Rachni and Krogan will extinct themselves
ez pz.
Sacrifice the Quarians then pick destroy too. The Humanity First ending.
They deserved extinction not genophage.
Yeah, but think about the Krogan cocks.
While I'm not the biggest fan of them becoming even more dindu's in andromeda it did show that in theory the less retarded krogan could have a place. Then again iirc the clan that joined in was more of as a whole an exception to the usual based retard krogan and the situation was actually tailored to them considering they evolved from the shithole death world tuchanka so who knows if they would actually be fine even in a non-crisis situation
You know…
Salaries could have just developed a virus that alter their breeding war-like behaviors. Or even edit their genes and breed them to become harmless given how advanced their science is compared to other species
>bring their breeding output down to the galactic standard?
>nah that's inhumane just lobotomize them
Mordin explains that their population growth was also a problematic factor. In any other environment outside of Tuchanka, Krogan reproduce in numbers far too great to be sustainable, coupled with their lifespan and the difficulty of killing them, they would quickly spread and exhaust all resources, leading to war out of necessity even without aggression as a motive. Only Tuchanka provides sufficient environmental pressure to manage their population levels.
No
The Krogans are war mongoring barbarians with virtually no culture to speak. It is clearly in the galaxy's best interest for them to be completely and utterly genocide once and for all, before some altruistic and or naïve moron comes along and removes the genophage blocks that keep there population numbers in temporary check.
ynt2n
YES.
from a logical standpoint? yes.
from my standpoint? my bro wrex hated it, so i hate it.
No, the genophage was cringe and gay
No. I would let a bearded lizard humanoid species reproduce and rule the galaxy any time. It's better than chinks at least.
The genophage was a half-assed solution, the Turians and Humans will just park in orbit and let them wage their wars, just no taking it off the planet lads.
krogans and krogan apologists
>Heh, Krogans are the master species and should have killed everyone in the galaxy. Might makes right.
also krogans and krogan apologists
>NOOOOOOOOOOO HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO US GENOPHAGE BAD WAGING TOTAL SPACE WAR GOOD
the krogans would have done the same to every other race if they could, probably even worse
no they overcooked the numbers far too much and effectively genocided an entire species just for being not space orks.
unfucking it is the correct choice
conquering an aggressor is as justified as it gets
