Really, defiance aura? I find Heal to be a way more useful aura for a Normal difficulty necro because it makes skellies last a surprisingly long time in fights against enemies that don't have instant nuke moves.
Defiance Aura is more or less worthless because Prayer combined with a single point in summon resist makes your summons basically unkillable to anything but super elites and bosses.
Also don't bother with more than a single point in skeleton mastery until you've maxed out raise skeleton if you're playing a summonmancer. People have run the numbers, raise skeleton gives more bang for their buck early on than skeleton mastery, that shit only needs 2+ points after you have a full 20 in raise.
its working good enough, i honestly just feel like playing my way and finding out things on my own, if i start playing the way everyone else does it the game just starts feeling like a boring chore, if i mess things up i can just reset the stats or start a new char just like in the old days, starting a new character after a failed one was one of the magical things of Diablo back then
Kinda worthless because their damage doesn't increase per level like regular skeletons do, but the thing is the summonmancer maxes out all the skills needed for their kit with like 40 skill points left over so go nuts, put 20 into raise skeletal mage because more boys won't hurt.

Yes, easiest way is just have only one summoned so you can watch their health bar, their natural regen is higher with Prayer on.
