This is why we can't have new IP. No way MS will fund another starfield. Even the piece of shit The Outer Worlds got more recognition than this.
Todd will now go back to the salt mines and only make Elder Scrolls and Fallout games.

there'll be another just off raw sales, shut up
>Off raw sales
God I wish they'd stop globbing the numbers by including game pass players
It sold well on steam and for what it's worth I thought it was dogshit
Tonight it really will hit him just how far from grace he has fallen, he went from consistently winning game of the year to now pretty much being a joke. I don't think he really has it in his power to turn around his studio and make TES 6 really deliver, it might just be simply over.
It was a devastating night for him.
He even paid for an ad that went "congratulations to all winners" kek.
that was damage control from the dev drama they caused during the voting.
Yea that ad was some major copium. I'm surprised Todd even showed up
>this is truly what trannies type into Discord without a fleck of irony
Cope.
Why do you want new IPs if they are shit?
And nothing of value will be lost
Space is the most well explored genre in the entire gaming portfolio.
The first game ever made was a space game, and it was a multiplayer one that had gravity simulation and all that stuff and starfield failed to add anything new to the genre, as its basically impossible at this point.
You probably have to do something for a niche like a good gundam game or something to thrive.
hers an idea for a new space game
>space tunnel exploration
>its space travel from tard wars, that uses hyper space lanes
>your a hyper space lane mapper
>its a dangerous job, there are aliens in the space lanes
>your co-pilot is a big titty blue b***h and a the ships AI which is a holographic dog.. but that doesn't matter because you're fighting aliens in hyper dimensonal space lanes
give me one year and i could probably learn how to make that in unity and put it up on steam. give it some freelancer side quests and shit. its that easy to make a fun game because games aren't art. these fart smelling buttholes forgot that. they think games are high tier artsy fartsy crap like movies ~~*lol @ Hollywood crashing and burning*~~
It's over Todd, just give it up
> And nothing of value will be lost
you really wanna lose another kino dev? he failed with starfield, but saying shit like this really shows you don't care about games
Companies aren't people.
If bethesda died and the people that were in it founded a new studio, they would be able to produce much better games without the reverse touch of midas of microsoft.
And zenimax.
that's an optimistic view. I just hope Todd makes es6 while being fueled by hate for Starfield
Once microsoft buys a company, the streak of good games is over.
Since the OG Xbox its pretty much the rule.
Sadly, this is very true. Inevitably, microshit will unceremoniously dump ZeniMax and leave BGS in a shambles.
The Outer Worlds is objectively a better game than Sirfield.
Maybe he should have thought about that before he decided to make his new IP bad
The world of Stafield is fricking boring. Why would you want another. At least Elder Scrolls is batshit and interesting and Fallout can continue to crib off the inspiration from Interplay.
>Gimmick of Starfield is infinite looping universes where anything can change
>Except NOTHING changes beyond what the same human characters are up to each time; the only "aliens" are more fricking humans.
>batshit and interesting
Just wait til they fix the hecking racismus in tes6
Every studio that Microsoft aquires fails
>make shit game
>no one buys it
>This is why we can't have new IP.
Just don't make shit game next
Todd should have at least had the sense to cater to his audience of boomer dads, instead he served up wokeslop that *nobody* enjoyed.
>since oblivion people have been criticizing Todd for dumbing down Bethesda's RPGs
>he ignores players complaints for almost two decades
>karma finally catches up to him
>"WOW HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN????"
Yeah, turns out if you dumb down every game eventually you hit rock bottom and it isn't fun to play anymore. I'm expecting TES6 to just have a Stealth, Magic and Combat skilltree.
Todd, your game is a fricking DISAPPOINTMENT. I really love the previous games, Morrowind is probably my favorite game of all time. I have thousands of hours of combined game play time with TES games and the Fallouts. Starfield is just a disappointment. Frick the fast travel, frick the menus, frick the companions, frick the journal and quests system, frick the UI, frick the AI.
>I really love the previous games
get your head checked
I think todd should let others work on fallout and elder scroll games. Maybe the folk who made new vegas can make another game so we could say they were good.
>snubbed with fallout 4
>f76 is a hilarious joke
>no one gives a shit about starfield after a month
Todd lost
maybe his next game should be fricking fun
Not gonna lie, I had more fun with outer worlds than i did with starfield. I didn’t even finish starfield, I uninstalled it about 70% in.
how embarrassed was he to be sitting there seeing starfield and bg3 nominated knowing full well the game hes been calling his 20 year passion project magnum opus sucks wiener and got blown out by an indie team
im sure the industry yes-men softened the blow by saying bg3 was just steep competition
Ok good riddance, never liked the setting from the start anyway. I need alien b***hes in my space games
it's okay
they'll just sell another version of skyrim to recoup the losses
maybe they'll really push their mod front with it
That literally just happened
And way down we go.
it will finally reach positive reviews in 4 years and people will praise that milestone then like the game has always been good and just misunderstood
7,500 players three months after release. KEK. What the hell are they doing over there at Bethesda? It might be time to consider radical changes because the current thing is not working.
Its so fricking embarrassing usually single players dropping harshly over time is a normal thing people play the game once and done but Bethesda games are supposed to be played for fricking years fallout 4 has more players than starfield
>No Creation Kit yet
When it drops it will get popular again because these games live off of the modding community. All Bethesda games do.
Starfield is a management failure. Todd failed to spread the load of decision-making properly and so no-one was at the helm.
Also Pagliarulo is a cancer and needs to go.
Bethesda is still capable of great things but they need a full restructure to do it. Elements of starfield (thinking about the art team) are incredible.
>art
That's literally the easiest part. Just hire artists, and done. Crafting rich and interesting gameplay, writing entertaining quests, developing interesting and complex NPCs and companions, inventing a rewarding gameplay loop to keep the player engaged and eager to continue, those are the hard parts, and that is where Bethesda has been slowly failing for nearly two decades now.
Agreed the rest of the game was shit but I'm not going to pretend making a cohesive visual aesthetic that looks as good as starfield would have been easy. There's a lot of uninspired AAA visuals out there, and the last thing I expected from Bethesda was graphical fidelity OR a tolerable artstyle. Their art Dept really outshone every other team
>Their art Dept really outshone every other team
That's because Todd farmed out the work to Indian and Chinese development studios.
>Elements of starfield (thinking about the art team) are incredible.
Like what.
>The plate of food is good, it just needs to be completely remade!
>We can kiss Starfield 2 goodbye
If you want awards, make good games. It's that simple.
>We can kiss Starfield 2 goodbye
why would anyone want that. The game fricking sucked.
Hopefully Microsoft tells Todd to frick off and puts someone else, ideally an entirely different company, in charge of TES IV.
I honestly hope that Flopfield's reception motivates him to churn out the best fricking elder scrolls ever. Yeah, chances are incredibly slim but hopium is all I got at this point.
Thank god
I wish he'd just killed himself.
And nothing of value was lost it was the same generic bethesda slop in a different setting
I really doubt he considers it a failure
>getting dunked on by the no mans sky guy
pathetic
This israelite has improved himself, learned bus lesson about telling no sweet little lies and has paid his dues with society.
Based vulgar display of power towards lil'Todd.
maybe they should have paid the game awards for some awards then
Todd needs to retire. He has nothing to offer.
Good. Im sick f looking at brown "people"
Maybe Todd should have made a good game
Shit maybe he should have tried making a good game instead of just counting on everyone giving him a pass for making a buggy mediocre mess with a big world.
Was Starfield the first AI developed game? Because it sure feels like it.
>Starfield the first AI developed game
That's the soullessness you are sensing. Starfield has perhaps the least amount of soul of any video game in the history of video games.
You can kiss Bethesda goodbye.
Go buy paid mods for Skyrim Dickraped Edition.
>This is why we can't have new IP
i'd look to a new developer if i wanted a new ip
when i look at bethesda, i want elder scrolls, and only elder scrolls
no, fallout isn't what i want, that was a decent ip but then they deliberately decided to handle it poorly
>that was a decent ip but then they deliberately decided to handle it poorly
Couldn't the same be said about ES especially after ESO?
I don't think Todd really expected Starfield to give him Skyrim sales, this feels like some personal project that had the unfortunate expectations and budget of a mainline AAA game of some already established franchise, it was always going to be a risk in one way or another. Now that he got it out of his system then TES 6 can be good right?
Yes, but...
>Todd MUST be promoted to customer
>Slopthesda Studios needs to develope a new engine for their fricking games or at least get to use Unreal or whatever the frick fits better.
>Woke troony, homosexual, Black person bullshit will.stay forever, do with that what you will.
Nope. It's genuinely over. TES VI will be made for people who think starfield was a great game. Even if they were capable of learning a lesson, I don't think they're actually any good at designing gameplay, lore, story, characters, and now even environments. Fallout 4 was excessively mediocre, 76 was terrible, Starfield was even worse. Starfield was the most boring game I've ever played.
I do not believe anyone with any actual talent works at Bethesda anymore. We've seen what they put their hearts and souls into, and it was the most bland and worthless garbage I've ever had refunded. I still feel cheated that I wasted my time on it waiting for it to get good.
its not a great game but its not as bad as you make it out to be homosexual
7/10 at best, needs fun added to dialog and more variety for the proc gen stuff and some code to make sure the same stuff doesnt spawn right next to it and thats about it
Starfield is a genuine massive improvement over their previous games in every single aspect. The main problem is that the space travel being fragmented into multiple loading screen made people hate the game. ES6 will just return back to normal bethesda formula so it wont face any of the same issues starfield had.
Todd should be ashamed of with how starfield ended up.
> The absolute full financial backing of microsoft
> plus dozens of microsoft and third party outsourcing studios at their dispoal
>25 years in the making ad near a decade of development.
all that for a game that is out of date by two decades.
Charitably, a Starfield 2 might be aiming for a 2040 release. There won't be a Bethesda by then
>Todd will now go back to the salt mines and only make Elder Scrolls and Fallout games.
I thought he was retiring
Todd's last game will probably be TES VI
will probably be bethesda's last game
knowing them, it will be as garbage as starfield and they'll likely be pushing paid mods harder than they ever had before
to the point where people will just continue to play skyrim
what the frick is wrong with him, why does he look perpetually pissed off.
sequels are a sham anyways
Cope. We'll have Starfield GOTY edition next year after all the DLCs are out
Yeah they sell those to make morons buy it again has nothing to do with winning goty
>We can kiss Starfield 2 goodbye
good
HUMBLE EUROPEAN AA BUDGET DEVS HUMILIATE FF16 AND STARFIELD. BOTH BACKED BY MULTI MILLION SQUARE AND MICROSOFT.
GET FRICKED YOU SELF HATING RPG POSERS.
He said he wanted to thank 2000 people who worked for BG3 lmao
big budget games are rich peoples gambling problems. no i dont know anything about starfield im just tired of hearing about aaa shit.
I have this CRAZY idea... hear me out... why didn't Bethesda make a good game in the first place? They had unlimited money, time, and resources. There was NO excuse for Starfield being that shitty. If the game engine(Creation Engine) was that shitty, they could have used a far better engine, brought in extra help to learn the new engine, or the Creation Engine developers could have just fricking told the new engine developers what to do. I AM FRICKING PISSED OFF. WHAT THE LITERAL FRICK, BETHESDA? STARFIELD WAS SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR PENULTIMATE GAME. HOW AND WHY DID YOU FRICK IT UP SO BAD?
Todd has failed since Fallout 76, decision so bad it would have killed the company if not for years of goodwill holding them up. Starfield was shit and all the oldheads left the company knowing full well there's no future. Todd meanwhile has resorted to subsisting on paid mods for Skyrim to keep Starshit alive.
I have played tes/fallout Bethesda games for billions of hours with mods but Todd needs to fix his shit or step down. Its literally current year releasing open world rpg games with abhorent animations, shit dialogue, trillions of bugs, shit bullet sponge gameplay and expecting modders to fix it for free just doesnt cut it anymore.
The animations are my biggest gripe with his game tbh. They are an AAA company that cant even animate a guy sitting on a chair.
Why would I want a sequel to a shit game?
>new IP
Yeah elder scrolls in space. Woo how original
>build new universe set in space
>Earth is destroyed and humanity spreads to the stars
>only three factions
>two are basically the same, just different forms of democracy
>don't even bother putting the third one in the game
>religions are stupid and everyone believes in SCIENCE instead
>all companions are boring goody two shoes
>all companions would rather spread mutating space microbes than bringing a kickass extinct species back to life
>no aliens
>NASApunk
they can make a new ip, just don’t make it a shitty space game
What's he thinking right now in light of BG3 winning?
>Company ran under a nepotism for the past 20 years can't make anything original
No surprise there. Starfield is Bethesda in its most pure form. The people who made TES in 94-96 were long gone by the time Todd was able to gain control of the company. They can only make the same game over and over because everyone there is a hack.
It had nothing to do with it being a new IP, and everything to do with being an overambitious, poorly coded piece of trash. Scaling up open worlds is always a bad idea, whether it's in space or on the ground, devs need to learn that quality is better than quantity and especially so when it comes to playable gamespace.
Also to stop hiring fricking pajeets to make your game.
BG3 won multiple awards and is GOTY and yet outsourced their game to the same pajeets. It's not an outsourcing problem but Bethesda being inherently incompetent.
Nasapunk isn't a good IP.
Todd's biggest problem but also biggest cause of success has always been playing it too safe and being as commercialized as possible. Starfield didn't have the compelling universes of TES and Fallout to even it out. So it ends up boring and uninspired.
He's going to go all in on making ES6 good and then retire while he's ahead
>Todd will now go back to the salt mines and only make Elder Scrolls and Fallout games.
Oh wow, making one of each in a decade, if that even with bloated dev cycles now.
If Cyberpunk can come back from the dead so can they.
They just need to make an overrated anime then weebs will pretend starfield is good too
I kind of feel bad for him. But sometimes passion projects don't work out. Now it's up to him if he wants to channel that energy into making Elder Scrolls as good as it can be, or sabotage it out of bitterness.
Pick the right road, Todd.
It made MS alot money and got more ppl to get goy pass, stupid. He and Bethesda aren't going anywhere.
Starfield could have been a truly good game, but in another engine.
I remember someone in the dev team saying you could invade other people ships while on the ground, and there would be a chance the ship would take off with you inside. Once the game launched, everyone was mocking Starfield and saying they lied, but this actually happens, you can invade some pirate ship, and the sounds from the gunfight will make the pilot panic and take off, it's a really cool moment, but its a moment ruined by loading screens.
This is the greatest problem with Starfield, lots of cool tech, like ship building, ballistic weapons having recoil in zero G while lasers lack recoil, ships taking off with you inside. But the lack of seamless loading really hurts the experience.
Planets being divided into tiny grids, not being to land your ship manually, space travel being just fast travel instead of being free travel like Elite dangerous, no vehicles, no EVA, this is all because the engine cannot handle seamless loading.
If the game had full seamless loading, with Elite dangerous levels of space travel, Starfield would be the best space game in the market right now, no other game would have the technology necessary to deliver Elite Dangerous free space exploration and Starfield planetary dungeon exploration. But alas, the creation engine killed this game in the cradle.
Bethesda is never going to abandon this engine because modding brings money, but at this point they have to accept, the only thing they can do is ES and Fallout until the end of time, this engine is incapable of doing anything else.
>you can invade some pirate ship, and the sounds from the gunfight will make the pilot panic and take off, it's a really cool moment, but its a moment ruined by loading screens
This happens to me, I shoot the pirates, run into the cargo hold, the ship doesn't take off until I run back off, the doors start closing, I run back in, it takes off and at some point I go flying out of the hold and fall to my death
I think if you sneak or just rush for the door while ignoring the guys walking around the ship, the door will be unlocked. For whatever reason, fighting the npcs outside the ship will cause the hangar door to lock 80% of the time.
It would be funny if they released the creation kit and modders manage to add in seamless loading somehow.
Modders could fix it
>nooooooooo, you gotta buy starslop or else they won't turn starslop into another billion dollar franchise
>The Outer Worlds
Was a better game unironically
good
as it stands his only purpose in life right now is to update fallout 76 aka the only good game
>"You HAVE to like my absolute diarrhea dogshit and pay for it or else you will never get a new IP!!! It's not my responsibility to make good games!! Buy my piece of shit right now or you never get new amd good shit ever again!!! BUY IT RIGHT NOW FRICKER!!"
I don't even know why people are excited for ES6, everywhere I go people have this feeling of "it's going to be shit, mods will fix", and I just don't get, why hope for a game that you already know will just disappoint you? At this point I think it would be genuinely better for Bethesda to just close the doors.
Honestly this kind of relationship is not healthy, if Bethesda keeps this up, they will eventually lose the modding scene while still being saddled with a outdated engine.
>people have this feeling of "it's going to be shit
Pretty much goes for every game release now
I have a pirate first mentality when it comes to Bethesda games just as a preventative measure. I'm not paying for their slop ever again after almost spending money on FO4.
>sold bonkers
>still played by millions
>10 year plan
>250 devs still working on it
>DLCs aint even out
>mod support aint even out
???
Will DLC get rid of the loading screens?
Better be some good fricking DLC, were talking shivering isles quality
Can't he just stop making games?
He doesn't want Skyrim to be his only legacy
>new IP
he just took fallout 4 and added space content, it wouldn't surprise me if the game began as DLC for fallout 4
>This is why we can't have new IP
Because they made a bad game? You better not be implying this is the consumer's fault. If the product is subpar, the consumer is correct in not buying it. Tell your handlers to do better next time, Bethshill.
i'm sure elder scrolls in africa will turn things around. lmao.
have you guys watched it yet?
Are multihour retrospectives kino?
SF is their best game since Fallout 3. With the caveat that Fallout 76 isn't their game, since it's meat is mostly made up by non-bethesda writers hired by BGS Austin. BGS Maryland also held the game and its team in contempt thorugh its development which makes me think is one of its greatest strength, since they had more freedom, and also the reason why most of its new lore additions are much better than what Bethesda fallouts did with stuff like the institute, which is a rehash of enclave, and developing the BoS into a highly unrealistic version of the original BoS, and proceeding to stuff them in each of their fallout IPs.
frick shartfield and frick butthesda
but most of all
frick butthesdadronetards
