I straight up made a video killing every enemy in RE3. You end up with a ton of frickin ammo and probably could beat the game killing everything twice over with only 1 playthroughs worth of ammo. Like 50 hours of work put into that vid for like 70 views. Youtubes a b***h.

Ya I ended up skipping them in that playthrough. Well mostly I think I fought one optional one. I was torn on whether I should or shouldnt though given the outcome I could had killed them all and it would had been fine.

Translate to Spanish and I can assure you tens of thousands of views in Latin America Youtube, you have NO IDEA how huge Re3 is in Mexico and Brazil, no idea. Pretty much this, DBZ and Saint Seyia form the average Mexican childhood for all 90s kids.

I do not know of a single classmate, friki homosexual and nerd who did not pirate this game during their childhood. Even the girls in class played this game.

Ya I noticed that alot of speedrunners for re3 are hispanic. I also uploaded a fair few tekken vids and I get random Pakistan comments. Its kinda interesting to see which games are cultural icons in different countries.

for Brazil, probably because it was released during the peak of psx piracy and when every damn hue had a playstation console. Other huecore games are Yugi Oh FM (the anime started airing in Brazil and it was a huge success) and Winning Eleven (for obivous reasons).

I think it had to do with the economy doing better at the end of the 90s so any middle class household could afford a family computer or a PSx and piracy was remarkably common. You could buy burnt discs with any game from anywhere to $50 to $100 mxn which is around $2 to $4 so any kid could buy them, again late 90's, internet was not common.

Did I intentionally reroll for randomness? I made the video a year ago I think I might had chosen a different route since one route spawned infinite of something. As for the zombie dogs im not sure since they are different from different games. Cerberus are zombie dogs intentionally created by umbrella to serve as BOWs. Zombie dogs are just dogs that randomly got infected. Yes there really is a difference im sure umbrella trade mark lawyers saw to it.

                >Did I intentionally reroll for randomness?
Yes in the police station with the zombies in Marvin's room.

And yeah, I know Cerberus in lore are different from Zombie Dogs, but I wonder if that actually manifests in a difference in-game. Different HP values or aggression or something.

                Anonymous

Ya I did reroll. I have 2 thoughts on that in retrospect that was uneeded for 2 reasons. First usually if one room has resources then another room wont. So by me getting the shells in that room I stopped them from spawning somewhere else. Also I didnt need those 7 shells anyway. I think in challenge runs you have to make calls on stuff like that. I basically just went with a route through the game I dont normally take on my more casual playthroughs as while I have alot fo knowledge on the game I dont know how every RNG outcome goes. As for the zombie dog/Cerberus thing I think it can be chalked up to different games having different values. A Cerberus bite in the RE1 remake does 100 damage a zombie dog in outbreak 2 does about 150 damage.

I haven't replayed all the old games in awhile so I could be wrong, but I think the Cerberus dogs in RE1 (except for the ones that jump through the windows) are relatively calm and will kind of stalk you and only go into attack mode if you get within a certain or try to run. But the Zombie Dogs in 2 and 3 are just in attack mode from the get go.

On hard you get massive rewards via the gun-parts. These include the scoped handgun and the lever action shotgun. All of these are a straight upgrade to your normal weapons, making "hard" actually more fun and easier overall.

Game Center CX is challenging RE3 for the next December DVD release. He's done 1-2 so far. How do you think he'll fare with the much more action focused game?

Just use Shotgun for the groups?

        Anonymous

Knife is much better in RE3 than in RE1 or RE2. I doubt I could do it anymore, but back in the day I did get rather proficient with it. Combine it with the dodge mechanic and it is viable for zombies and other weaker enemies, when not in big groups of-course.

          Anonymous

Every room is a large group, it takes fricking forever whether you're good at it or not, and the dodge mechanic is shit. It's hard as frick to gauge whether or not the zombie is close enough, especially when you're at a weird angle, and when fighting Nemesis and shit you don't shove, you just smash your head against the wall and get anyway because you don't get I-frames, you just move, and 80% of the time you don't move enough

            Anonymous

Yeah, even back in the day I didn't try it with groups of enemies, but when you can get an enemy isolated the knife + dodge works well with practice.

            Anonymous

            >and when fighting Nemesis and shit you don't shove, you just smash your head against the wall and get anyway because you don't get I-frames, you just move, and 80% of the time you don't move enough
Jill moving at random does suck. I'll give you that. But the dodge is actually pretty strong against Nemesis because there's a lot of frames for you to press aim. It's easy to land the dodge on him. The other enemies yeah, they're a b***h to dodge but you can always use the knife trick

  12. 9 months ago
    Anonymous

So here is a question. When you reach the Hospital you see a zombie shuffle around a corner and then a Hunter decapitates him.

Question: Where the frick do the Hunter and Zombie come from? If you go an stand in that corner there is nothing around that corner and no room for both the Hunter and Zombie to hide.

It depends on the game and version. I believe the Kitchen/Mikami Zombie in the ps1 director's cut is still the strongest zombie in the series. He's also in the DS port but was nerfed there.
