In 2010 no one would care if you called a game from the year 2000 nostalgic like Deus Ex, Majora's Mask or Diablo II. Skyrim is a 10 year old game and people can be nostalgic for it, even if you think it isn't good. I remember the day it came out because I was in college at the time tbh.
Pretty much this
I was nearly 20 when it came out, pirated and played it on a shittop at <20fps as soon as it dropped. The intro really was striking and I don't mean the wagon, but that illusion once you're out, it felt like good stuff
Hyped my friends up describing those early game experiences, just to realise shortly before they did that it's all the same
>that illusion once you're out, it felt like good stuff
this, the game felt really great at first after opening up, but unfortunately after putting some hours you realise that there really just isn't that much interesting stuff to do, and all the dungeons ar basically copy pasted
>I remember the day it came out because I was in college at the time tbh.
It came out on my friend's birthday and I drove to the mall to get it for him. Also I agree with your general point. Humans are bad at processing time.
it's ten years old next month. there are people posting right the frick now who "grew up" with skyrim. jesus fricking christ.
the problem is that it's the single most dumbed down entry in it's own franchise, and is exceedingly popular not in spite of that, but BECAUSE of that dumbing down. it's a shit game with no depth that spits on every preceding entry's existence, but is hard carried by normalgay's shit fricking taste and mods that pretend to make it a not-shit game. nobody cares about being nostalgic for dudesex because it's a great fricking game with significant depth. it earned it's nostalgia. there's also this shit
yes op
time moves forward as it tends to do
in 15 years people will be nostalgic for minecraft, league, and fortnite.
that's just how life works
time goes on
either adapt or get left behind
I've had nostalgia for Minecraft for a while now.
Playing the game with friends back in elementary and building things we thought was cool like a big mansion, roller coaster, or just a giant hill of TNT.
Now I am in my 20s and no game can compare to my Minecraft nostalgia.
BRO DONT YOU GET ITTTT
ITS THE FRICKING ZOOMERS FAULT, ITS ALL THEIR FAULT, MY GENERATION WERE PERFECT UNTIL THOSE FRICKING KIDS RUINED IT
PLEASE GIVE ME BACK MY FRIENDS AND PIZZA AND N64 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
That feels bad because they just kept putting out new ports of Skyrim instead of a new game. The game is like a decade old. I was in high school when it released and tried it when visiting a friend because his younger brother had it.
Don't know the mods involved but one of my mates turned it into an extreme cold survival simulator, even then he came away saying it was fun for a bit but at its heart it's still Skyrim
not if you don't like sandbox dungeon crawling, I enjoy it because I can do it with a half naked chick of my choice, but I will always enjoy Morrowind more because of its rpg mechanics still in place
>Wojak >Randomly throwing "unironically" into your post because other people on the internet do it
Where the frick do you get off complaining about anyone?
A while ago I was talking about TES with a friend and I accidentally called TES6 Skyrim 2 because everything's been Skyrim for a fricking decade. We're going to get a 20th anniversary edition of Skyrim before we get a new game.
>kids that were 10-15 when skyrim came out are now buying homes, getting married, having kids >you're doing to same thing you were when skyrim was released; whining about video games on Ganker
>We have reached a stage where the Nier Franchise is regarded as one of the most dramatic and tragic storytelling since videogame creation in the XXI Century.
>It will be one whole decade old next month >The dovahkiin baby will be 10 >Considering I was playing Super Mario 64 when I was 6 and Ocarina when I was 7 it is likely he has actually played the game of his namesake >Meanwhile all these games are 2 fricking decades old
I don't understand though, are you saying it's bad? Skyrim is a good game.
it released a decade ago anon
>people are nostalgic about their teens
why haven't any of those smart-ass science people ever found out how to stop time if they're so smart huh?
>time exists
I know this concept is hard for your Black person addled brain but this isn't some sort of brand new discovery.
The solution is simple, we must kill time
Time doesnt exist, its just entropy
>he lives within the boundries of time
lmao, look at that loser
nobody care if it hurt your feeling people will always be nostalgic about the things they enjoyed in the past

people are against being nostalgic for a game with three releases in a 10 year span.
yes op

Minecraft and LoL are older than Skyrim. Frick off newbies.
It's the same general 3 year time span though isn't it?
Both minecraft and League are older than Skyrim though
People have been nostalgic about the early stages of those games for years already
I literally have nostalgia for pre-release minecraft.
I've had nostalgia for Minecraft for a while now.
Playing the game with friends back in elementary and building things we thought was cool like a big mansion, roller coaster, or just a giant hill of TNT.

I'm already nostalgic for old league but nu-riot sucks balls
Yes. It's a good game. If it wasn't a good game, why haven't we had a better one?
Anon, 2011 was thirty years ago.
>time passes
I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS, RIGHT??? THIS POST IS JUST LIKE ONE OF MY FAVORITE TWITTER MEMES, LIKED AND RET4NHM8

Can a combination of mods currently make skyrim in a good (not coomer) game?
Yes
Seems very interesting, altough it seems to be lacking an overpowered kicking button
Don't know the mods involved but one of my mates turned it into an extreme cold survival simulator, even then he came away saying it was fun for a bit but at its heart it's still Skyrim

Yes. Despite our best efforts, time continues to move forward.

anon you're old
you'll probably be half-bad in the next 5 years
Time exists, imagine that.
Hows that hairline by the way?
i'm nostalgic about being a shut in on Ganker in 2010. you can be nostalgic about last summer.
Remember to buy the anniversary edition anon :^)
Sorry Todd, not doing it.
>GTA V and Skyrim keep being released from PS3 to PS5
While this itself isn't a problem, the lack of new things is.
A while ago I was talking about TES with a friend and I accidentally called TES6 Skyrim 2 because everything's been Skyrim for a fricking decade. We're going to get a 20th anniversary edition of Skyrim before we get a new game.
>500+ creation club elements
I will now buy your game
Skyrim was released 10 years ago, even though it's probably the worst TeS game its still good enough to have some nostalgia over.
>kids that were 10-15 when skyrim came out are now buying homes, getting married, having kids
>you're doing to same thing you were when skyrim was released; whining about video games on Ganker
Yes and I wouldn't have it any other way
>We have reached a stage where the Nier Franchise is regarded as one of the most dramatic and tragic storytelling since videogame creation in the XXI Century.
>and it's not down to the underrated original game but coomers shitposting about thighs

skyrim came out in 2010
its older than the wii u
And people were nostalgic about Morrowind when Skyrim came out, your point?
Yes, that's how linear time works.
People were nostalgic about Morrowind when Skyrim came out, Skyrim is older now than morrowind was back then, think about it, its not that weird
Yeah that game is gonna be 11 years old soon
