To be honest Fallout 4 was the one I enjoyed the most but it required 200+ mods to make it bearable.
Sure I liked the lore and atmosphere of 1 and NV but I can't say I was ever a big fan of the franchise all things considered, the most fun I had with it was slapping tons of user-generated crap on top the shittiest game of the "saga" and treat it like a sandbox to play around

If a role playing game has poor role playing, can it truly be said the gameplay was good? Why not play any other action shooter or base builder at that point, the gunplay isn’t THAT good
I liked it because it had the best gameplay. The companions were pretty standard stuff as far as fallout companions go. The main story is definitely the weakest part of the game.
The companions in 4 are at least somewhat interesting conpared to the usual drivel we get in western rpgs. Aside from that, the synths and institute storyline kept me intrigued up until the big reveal. BoS was dope af being able to call in support and ride on the ship, railroad while being a faction of cucks at least provided fun 007 style quests. And of course the gameplay, map, music, and general quality is on par with or better than 3 and NV. Not the best game of all time, but one of the better fallouts for sure

The series is firmly in Zenimax/Microsoft's hands now, and they're only letting the likes of Amazon do anything additional with the IP. Hardly. The things established in F1 and F2 are still what carries the franchise.The BoS, the Enclave etc. Bethesda keeps having to bring them back because their own efforts to develop the setting have been Starfield-tier.
It's a shame, though. Fallout today feels diluted and incoherent. The show isn't bad, but it's inherently hampered by having to deal with a nonsensical world with very little adherence for long-term world building.
