People barely ever give any specific reason to gameplay why the 3D games are bad. the 3DS games were still very solid and well received for the most part. Sure, the Switch games I can see but most people still loved the 3DS games. It felt like the dex cut was what sparked the current anti-3D sentiment. There's literal evidence of people review bombing the 3DS games after the dex cut was announced just to feed a narrative
