Other bugs call them with pheromones (orange smoke) and you need to shoot them before they do. I think it was better in HD1 where the enemies had specific scout units that could summon reinforcements, instead it just being whackamole with a patrol full of bugs.

It stops you from being slowed by hunters. It stops bile from slowing you or damaging you. It stops chargers from ragdolling you. It stops missiles from ragdolling or killing you. It can tank a shot from a cannon turret. It can tank a shot from an annihilator tank. It has a 4 second refresh cooldown.
Nothing even comes remotely close.

currently the ONLY armor in the game is the shield back pack. nothing else even functions, the riot shield does not block shit and breaks if you are knocked down.

Shooting every enemy you see only makes the mission harder later, it's better to just avoid patrols unless you want to deal with 5 chargers/hulks at extraction.

Focus on main "orange" objective. If you complete it then even if you die or failed to extract you will complete the mission. So basically do "orange" then extract or explore.
How boring, it's better to plan out a route to destroy every outpost and explore on your way to main and secondary objectives

Not boring at all, on the harder difficulties there are enemies everywhere and extremely strong types so you want to get those Orange objectives done as soon as possible, then you can explore the map, collect resources and aren't afraid that if you frick up and run out of redeploys the mission is wasted.
Killing bugs/bots not affected the mission reward in any way.
Always kill the little ones first when encountering a patrol. Those are the ones that can call reinforcements. Big homies can be dealt with afterwards. Always have an antipersonnel strategem or weapon on hand for this, or at least a couple of impact grenades.

All the whining about Breaker being the only weapon that shoots real rounds, everything else being a kickable offense didn't prepare me for how fun the scorcher is. From looking at it I thought it was just a different beam weapon. But it's just a sci-fi blaster with mags and all that twoshots bot walkers from the front. Just soloed a LVL 9 mission (extract valuable data) because of a guy from a previous thread said the anti materiel rifle was good and he was so much of a homosexual about it I wasn't about to be outdone by him.

The reason the anti-materiel rifle is good for those missions is it 1-shots most bots on a patrol and it's relatively quick firing, but for any actual fight it's trash.
Stealth in this game is boring as frick I still would rather keep killing non stop without stealth gear on lvl 7.

Something about it doesn't make it very much fun. I think it's the shooting. As far as 3rd person shooters go it's not really great. Shooting enemies doesn't feel satisfying. None of the primaries are fun.

Don't forget to check the premium shop armors, they are actually different mechanically from the battlepass ones. Currently there's an ultra-light armor with 50% explosion resistance. Unlike the armor stat itself, that explosion resistance does work and lets you survive direct rocket hits.

I can’t beat even level 6 missions. Solo or in many groups. Everyone just gets overwhelmed and runs off in every direction and dies and it becomes endless respawning and dying. I tried solo stealth and don’t get how to do it. Do I just keep waiting 5 minutes my air strikes to respawn and do nothing else? The breaker just bounces off everyone.
Shoot the weakspots. Pick strategems that balance out your weaknesses.

What are you wasting it on? Use it to clear paths or break nests/factories. Maybe if you're in a pinch you can dump some ammo into something heavier that takes 3 hits but you're better off running.
