They never said that, they just said they'd never put it on sale. They also warned about the price increase for years in advance, so it's your fault for missing it

    I prefer Mindustry
At this point I feel like a shill, for bringing it up every Factorio thread, but I just like it more

Factorio gets all the factory threads, they may as well be for factory games, not just factorio because the king effect is dominant here.

I haven't played factorio so I can't compare, but mindustry kind of sucks
      >Everything takes forever to do. Building is glacial unless you have a squad of building units, units move at a glacial pace, units have gigantic health pools
      >Spend 20 minutes between missions building resources so you don't get overrun in the first couple waves
      >Almost always can use optimal schematics for silicone, power, etc. trivializing the actual factory design
      > CPUs and programming are near useless because you have to use assembly with a program limit of like 10 instructions. Also it breaks in multiplayer
I love the concept and it's fantastically optimized but it just isn't fun

I hope that one day someone out there just combines Mindustry and Factorio and makes the perfect game.

You realize what you're doing, right? Pirating games is basically like committing mass murder.

I prefer thinking of what I'm doing as content rape.
I didn't pay, and the content didn't consent, yet I'm using it and abusing it.

Factorio devs actually tell you to pirate instead of buying from key-sites

        Why?

          Anonymous

Key sites cause payment processor fees to the original vendor (in this case Wube) because of keys bought with stolen credit cards get chargebacks.

          Piracy doesn't cost them anything.

            What

              Anonymous

              1. You pirate a game, no money is transferred, end of story.
              2. A guy buys a key with a stolen credit card, small part of that money goes to payment processor and a bigger part to the devs.
Transaction gets reported as fraud and chargeback'd, the dev has to pay back the purchase price(big+small part, as they only received the big part they will be in the negative with 2 times of the small amount
there were 2 transactions in total, and the dev pays the payment processor for them out of pocket

Every version of this game I've pirated is missing the same files and doesn't open, I have no idea of why.

Do engineers like anno type games?
They seem similar to me, basically logistics management.
I feel like anno has better polish but reduced sandbox gameplay because of restrictions (mostly space, but also how resources are acquired).

Sank 2k hours into factorio and yeah I really enjoy Anno 1800. Never managed to get past artisans though because of a shitty pc that frezzes for 15s to change between maps. the former is less of a logistic puzzle game and more of a 'balancing the productions'

they're pretty similar just one you manually connect buildings one does it for you with trading posts
