Look up Steam forums on Generals. You need to create a options.ini in the game's directory in your User Directory in My Documents and paste the stuff from the forum there. Those are settings that mod the game to launch. You do so and you can play the game. It also works on Zero Hour.

Time loss have to do everything again. This is what you meant I know it you little c**t.
>have to make a blind choice >save game >make a move >every time you choose wrong you have to load again >repeat several times per mission
Both options are awful timewasting, so it doesn't really matter which one you think I meant.

>oh no the consequences of my actions, how could I have foreseen this ?
i love that one gdi bonus mission where you have to blow up 3 sam sites before you get your base, depending on the RNG the sites may spawn 1-2 minigunners who kill your commando and theres no way to avoid this.
I had surprising amounts of fun playing through the remaster of OG otherwise, but this and the mission with suiciding civilians next to a tiberium field were inexcusable.
dont get me wrong renegade was fricking lit but that campaign was not half bad
I only recently played it a few weeks ago on commando and its moronic the way the enemies spawn infront of you half the time and kill you
yeah the cyborg was okay, forgot about the guy. But the C&C3 commando was a step back from the generals commando. Seriously, why isnt his machine gun as strong as colonel burtons minigun? Its moronic he can cut down infantry in seconds but deals no damage to vehicles, even against pitbulls and bikes. Considering commandos are at the bottom of the tech tree, cost 2k, and die insanely quickly, they could do with some damage. The commando missions felt really limp since even a loose vehicle couldnt be sniped.
>C&C3 GDI Commando jetpacking and C4'ing in the same move was kino too
It would be kino if he could survive for more than 0.1 second so you can actually C4 walkers. And for some reason he goes prone after every C4, so quickly tagging a bunch of buildings or units isnt posisble either
>Right click their icon <> rename.
You really trying to tell me how to use a PC you idiot.
Why would I need to rename them, what benefit does that even do you sperg. Shit I only have them on my desktop in case I ever see them and play them. they are all in start
In case you didn't realize, its just a shitposting laptop I use to shitpost while in bed. Not that I would rename desktop icons on my PC like that. I wouldn't have desktop games on my PC, they are all in start or steam.
No you don't need EA account or paying fees or anything just pay the 10 bucks, it's might be a test to see if c&c is still relevant and if it's worth making a new sequel
Pro tip for poor gays : you can buy the individual games from the bundle if you want to.
1. Go to steamdb of the C&C game you want to buy
2. Click add to cart
3. Proceed to buy and play it
nah I added it to my cart
now im just not sure if i really want to buy it since I am not an rts guy.

assuming I can get only one C&C game besides RA2, what would you guys suggest? also I didn't like base game of C&C generals that much.
C&C3 but make sure to either download the earlier patch (Any before 1.4 IIRC) to play the campaign OR play the Tiberian mod that adds in the Tib Sun units
bought RA2 and played it first time in 20 years or so and the panning felt so fast. then I realized the game was made with ball mouses in mind and maybe that's why it felt weird lol.

Which games are actually worth getting? I only played a bit of ra1 as a kid.
This mission and the desert one that gives you your first tank are fricking balls to the wall hard
Still mad they ruined the campaign with fricking multiplayer balancing
Kind of lost interest in the vanilla campaign during the protect the convoy mission, but yeah I remember them being challenging. Now I know why.
Is there a mod that brings back the original balance these missions were designed for?
there's a little button on the bottom that lays LANDMINES and you could not fill everything up with RKT units that suck vs Infantry

mmm, yeah it would have because on how the bridge is set up so you could filter some, might have been better to use grenadiers. This is ofc not counting if you went up and captured the NOD base for the OP flame throwers

Capture and train flametanks with what? They haven't even got the MCV yet.
1 harvester, still turning on and off buildings to have power for defenses
3 months ago

with a rush of engineers inside of APC ofc
you only need to capture a NOD constriction yard before steamrolling the rest of the upper base
I'm probably just being a true contrarian but I actually kinda like the moronic difficulty of the Nod Tib dawn missions
You really have to think like a guerilla force and use a bunch of cheesy strats like leading enemies into set up ambushes, kiting around their fire etc. Or planning a decisive, quick APC+engineer raid into an enemy base in order to actually take it down-- you almost never feel like you have an advantage in any of the Nod "commando" missions; it makes each unit feel very precious
I only played RA1, RA3, CNC3 AND CNC4 back in the day so I have absolutely no nostalgia for the original Tib game
3 months ago
Anonymous
even then its still bullshit because flamethrowers and grenades can randomly crit and instakill an entire squad, and if you send them in 1 by 1 you die regardless.
TI changed hands several times and the last guy to end up in charge basically sabotaged it because lol, lmao even.
Not much of a surprise, TI always seemed like MO's struggling moronic younger brother. The only parts that worked were the aesthetics and music.
There's one anon who genuinely cannot shut the frick up about some C&C mod, so every time there's a C&C thread up, he has to go in there and act like he's on a mission from god to frick up the thread.

Why is she dressed like that when she's voicing Commander's UI?
honestly i've tried tibsun for a bit before
it feels like a slower, more clunky ra2
couldn't get used to the controls
>mental omega
don't, it's competitive slop, play it for the campaign (if they bothered letting you save the multi-hour missions) and be done
i've started playing the campaign and i'm current stuck in the allies final mission (act one)
i've also fricked with skirmish a bit with ai, but even the easy ai without this 'mental omega ai assist' thing is wrecking my shit already
haven't really played competitive ra2 and based on that experience alone, i'm probably not gonna fare well on it
Are the games for this collecton just install and play or is it one of those situations where they dump old stuff on steam as-is and you have to go looking for fixes and workarounds to even launch the thing
>Are the games for this collection just install and play or is it one of those situations where they dump old stuff on steam as-is and you have to go looking for fixes and workarounds to even launch the thing
The latter.
www.pcgamingwiki.com should be the only site you need for all the games. It sucks, but at least EA gave us the games on Steam, and this sudden C&C dump on Steam makes it seem like someone is working on a remaster of some more C&C games(my guess is Tiberian Sun or Red Alert 2).

where do I get started. got the whole bundle and wondering what fixes and shit I need for the series and should I skip anything to get to the later games
You have to do so much babysitting of your units in this game it kind of takes the fun out of playing. You can't order units to defend an area or another unit, if you tell a group to cross a bridge or go through a pass inevitably the units in the back of the line will decide the way is blocked and try to go the long way around through enemy territory and get killed, if you try to stage units outside the enemy base there's no way to tell them not to fire on the harvester and avoid the enemy deciding to rush you.
We already wished on that monkeys paw and got a mobile game. Unless some company can prove to EA execs RTS is back, I would say doubtful. Maybe they might do some more remastering.

I think the success or failure of Stormgate will decide the near-term future of the genre.
from this trailer, my guess is that it's part of their new initiative to release all their classic games every month or so on steam to earn more money. the suits must have caught on that nostalgia sells sometimes even more than the new crap they are making (from few examples in the market).
I played the original and it definitely shows its age. The unit pathfinding is moronic and though the remaster adds help text encouraging you to think in terms of matching up units with targets they're good at destroying, you can just build a bunch of tanks and destroy everything in your path. And the remaster removes the exploit where you can send a unit to the top of the map and draw the computer's napalm strike away from your base, so I'm surprised they didn't nerf sand bags, which remain the strongest weapon in the game.
You can, download the ini files from here: https://www.moddb.com/games/cc-generals/downloads/ini-files
It contains all the inis for Generals and Zero Hour, but you just need gamedata.ini. Then edit the MaxCameraHeight value. If you raise it too much you have to enable DrawEntireTerrain too.
>we will NEVER get another game where you can play as middle eastern arab terrorists ever again

ass kicked in normal? Are you even building units? GI infantry in basegame are stupid OP and once you get rocketeers nothing else matters. If youre playing Soviets just spam rhinos

I assume it should work
There's an easy way to clean up your library.
I bought the library since I lost the discs to most of these games a decade ago, so it's nice to have the option to go down memory lane whenever I want.
LOOK THIS DOESNT COUNT yeah we know red alert 2 is the franchise favourite and is more popular but WE ALL KNOW the best good one here is based zero hour
Is Renegade X still a thing? I enjoyed that for what is was.
Original Renegade Multiplayer was a fever dream for me as a kid, literally a game I prayed for
Are these worth playing for the single player content if I didn't grow up with the RTS genre? They look fun
every C&C game is good and has their own pros and cons (except 4 we dont talk about that game). RA2 has the best campaign and is most competitive online. check out gameplay videos and decide on which game to try.
RA2 and Tiberian Sun are GOATed, but CnC95 and RA1 are worth playing. Generals and ZeroHour are also good but there's a clear change in design of the games from Generals onward.
not super into rts
but id say maybe get the remastered collection
contains both cnc1 and ra1 with bunch of features to make them properly run on modern macheenes and qol
Ehhh. Maybe? Red Alert 2 is probably the most "fun" one, but the C&C games feel really archaic at times, especially since 90% of the missions boil down to "Destroy every enemy unit and building on the map". Even Starcraft and Age of Empires 2 mixed things up with multiple enemies.
>since 90% of the missions boil down to "Destroy every enemy unit and building on the map".
RA2 campaign specifically mixes things up to break this monotony. hell it has the most memorable and wild setpieces in RTS campaigns like capturing the eiffel tower to use it as a tesla coil, bombing the pentagon / Kremlin, time travelling etc.
>invade an allied base, capture their secret tech >capture power plants across the map before the enemy does >escape into the past just as worldwide mind control wave goes off >fight off dinosaurs >arrive to the beginning of the main invasion, take out both allies and your eventual traitor
And thats mission 1. >I'm not scvimming out there! Get me armoured transport
These games are 90% single player content so you never have to touch multiplayer to enjoy these.
Quick rundown - >CNC95 and Red Alert: Quite basic and antiquated with extreme bullshit difficulty at parts, probably not that great without nostalgia goggles. Play the remaster if you want to enjoy these more. >Tiberian Sun: Amazing atmosphere and music, gameplay fluctuates between fun and insane bullshit jank. >Red Alert 2: One of the peaks of the franchise, a must play. >Generals: Not a true CNC technically but still fun, also worth playing >CNC3: The most modern one, can be hit or miss but it has the most Kane out of all of them which is its own plus. Campaign is kind of fricked without mods. Kanes Wrath has a lot of content though. >CNC4: DO NOT RESEARCH >Red Alert 3: Funny live action but the gameplay is aggressively mid. >Renegade: The most experimental shooter of all time, your mileage may vary.
they did balance patches for units but the patches also applied to the campaign as well, making some missions unwinnable. Theres workarounds but its still annoying that the mission objectives they give you are literally not possible to perform anymore.
Balance changes aimed at multiplayer in patches also affect the singleplayer campaign, which fricks up the balance. Generally it makes everything harder, because there are some major economy nerfs made to the game, and missions where you are supposed to rely on certain unit types can get real hard if those units got nerfed.
huh now that you mention keep thinking why the nod turrets from CnC3 kanes wrath feel so weak. Remember playing it back in 2009 and then static defenses could hold on their own.
there was also major economic nerfs to harvesting, the nefs ONLY applied on the player side, the CPU didnt count so it's economy was literally almost double yours at all times. If I could find the devs who made that decision id burn their homes down

I don't know if they changed it back but cnc remaster had some AI tweaks that makes at least one of the commando missions a race against time because the AI now firebombs him
I bought the bundle
What's your favorite C&C? I'm going with Red Alert 2 but I have only played the first one, Red Alert and RA2. I think I wanna try Generals next
RA2:YR for sure, but Generals is also fun. I haven't touched Zero Hour yet, might as well give that a try too
Remastered TibDawn and RA1 are both fun too
>boot up the first game as nod >the very first mission is to burn down an African village, kill all civilians and execute the local warlord as an example
Holy frick
It's pretty much a rule in thumb in all of video games that the experience is best when you play forces of light before you play the forces of darkness. Of course C&C switched this around because everyone knows Nod are the good guys.
>Found C&C: The last decade collecting dust in a cabinet >Every C&C game up to and including Generals: Zero hour >Even that one FPS game >Still works flawlessly except for a patcher you have to DL for generals
Oh yeah, that's the shit. I'm playing everything that's on this thing
>big naval guns retired and probably never coming back >military increasingly becoming gayer
The correlation is 1 to 1.
What other games can you call in naval artillery? World in Conflict?
RA3 can be fun and has good visual effects, especially for the time, has entertaining cutscenes, but what brings it down for me is how they had to make every single unit in the game gimmicky in order to emulate starcraft 2 and how they made the campaign co-op.
>remove games from individual sale to force you to buy this collection >when people already have cnc + red alert from the recent remaster and don't need to buy them
i hate ea so much. i don't even want to buy these anywhere except gog because i cannot actually trust whatsoever that ea ensures they run and aren't bricked
>bundle a bunch of freewares and sell it
Why are they so israelite. I suspect EA already canned all the remastered plan and just decide to dump them all as they are.
https://gruntmods.com/dune_2000_gruntmods_edition/
If you anons like classical c&c games you can try dune 2000 as well, it's free and i believe they lost rights to this one so it's not getting officially rereleased anyway
At the time, China was viewed as a backwards, Totalitarian shithole that's only good for sweat shop labor.
Granted, China is largely still just that, but now they have delusions of grandeur. It was funny to make them the SAVIOURS OF EVROPA
>shitty campaign with just one storyline, with the option of choosing a side at one point, with two shitty endings >shitty units, no base building, you get a mobile base instead >pop cap >Kane being done dirty >forced online service
It's one of those things you can truly understand if you played the entire C&C series up to that point.
>Zero Hour chinese propaganda?
Probably because it was the best narratively speaking. China was a rising power with questionable strategies, USA was the old and aging guard and the GLA was the rising villain without morals or principles that folds under itself with infighting. You can't have GLA win or it would ruin the world in an endless civil war, USA can't win because they failed the first time so the new power of China grows to fill the void of power. This reflects in their generals & units, USA uses power draining tech, expensive air craft & sluggish super weapons, GLA uses toxins, stealth, the ability for anything to explode ontop of a massive tunnel network, China uses swarm tactics, nuclear weapons that linger and stealing the best from all 3 factions (even not counting the tigress, they steal money like the GLA while using vehicles for supply depos & constructing buildings like the USA, or having Air power like USA while using weapons with lingering ground effects like the GLA)
>Still no planetside style cnc game >pick either nod, scrin or gdi and duke it out on a huge map with one player being the "commander" and placing buildings while other players have to build, go out and gather tiberium etc.
Is there any mod that just improves the graphics of Red Alert 2, like higher resolution, textures and higher quality for the FMVs without changing the gameplay?
Probably the last hail mary to get any sales from them after origin shit the bed.
I wouldn't be suprised if this is also used as a gauge for interest in future games either.
The remaster did alright for sales, we could also see one of the timelines get a full rework similarly or maybe they'll do 2 games per remake with 1 Tiberium, 1 RA.
This would mean the next games being: >RA2 + YR | TS + FS >RA3 + Uprising | KW + TW >RA4 can frick off and get a full rework
I would kill for a proper Tiberian Sun remaster, would be even better if they implemented Red Alert 2 gameplay and especially added some features that didn't make it into the game, such as day and night cycle, for example.
Virgin Kane >what? A full frontal attack on the pentagon? Noooo impossible better kill my second in command
Chad Romanov >full frontal attack on the pentagon? Excellent first mission for comrade general. Infantry should suffice.
>mission involves defending the time machine from the opposing faction >first time using the time machine goes awry >this time, instead of sending you to the time of the dinosaurs or something, you get teleported to some alternative version of Earth, that takes place in the 1970s, where funny looking blue, red and purple enemies attack you from three sides for X amount of minutes
I'd continue from where Tiberium wars left off, have the Scrin actually attack trough the last Treshhold tower, only for the attack to somehow go awry due to the Brotherhood of Nod having been studying and meddling with the tower over the preceding decades. Instead of a clean invasion, the wormhole/portal within the tower that was meant to allow the scrin to invade, creates a sort of "portal storm" scenario where unstable dimensional rifts pop open across the planet, spilling scrin forces here and there, but also allowing both GDI and Nod to strike forth into alien worlds and start fricking with the Scrin.
Essentially, the big picture of the story would go towards Earth becoming fundamentally lost to the Tiberium, Kane and Nod further pursuing their agenda of ascending humanity and whatever Kane actually is up to, GDI desperately trying to ensure the survival of humanity, and strike back at both Nod and the Scrin out of vengeance for what happened to Earth, Scrin reeling over how everything they did to Earth backfiring in such a colossal fashion, while overall the tiberium conflict escalates and spreads across multiple worlds. I'd have the scrin ultimately be defeated and spiltered as a faction due to humans managing to exploit the catalyst technology that ignites tiberium in a chain reaction, by detonating a catalyst missile within an ichor hub, and having the reaction spread troughout the scrin empire in a catastrophic fashion.
The end game would be humanity becoming a multiplanetary species that stands on the ashes of the collapsing Scrin empire trying to figure out wtf they are gonna do, as they have themselves become so fundamentally tied to Tiberium and Earth being lost.
Hey, it's just an idea to justify taking CnC to spesh and further fricking over the Scrin to even the playing field. I genuinely enjoyed how novel it was that the ayy lmao invaders of Tib wars were completely out of their element due to being tricked into landing prematurely. The Scrin underestimating humanity and their meddling with us by seeding Earth with Tiberium continuing to frick them over feels thematically fitting.
The scrin are after all, described as a decadent race or tiberium addicts masquerading as a civilization.
Part of the reason why C&C is so good is precisely because it's so serious at the core, there aren't particularly any unreasonable out-of-nowhere errors like smart people suddenly being exceedingly stupid.
Whatever faults Scrin possess, battling them won't be easy at all, it's too disproportionate, and showing that would need some truly smart solutions.
Adding to this you could have both GDI and Nod having developed some form of simple portal tech (Nod having more advanced forms due to their access to the treshhold tower and tacitus) that allows both factions to exploit the stray portals/rifts in space created by the botched invasion, to stabilize them etc. Gameplaywise you could have both factions be able to create sort of transit portals as late game tech and maybe have teleporting units for Nod.

Good point, the general idea I had was mostly just that the scrin would botch their initial invasion, that grants humanity the opportunity to strike back and exploit this opening in a way, that escalates the conflict beyond just the confines of Earth, and eventually leads to the scrin being outplayed or otherwise fricked over in such a way, that allows humanity to survive the conflict. Not necessarily the wholescale destruction of the scrin, but more of a situation that by the end of it, the conflict, the scrin got fricked up to a point where they no longer would be able to just wipe out humanity with a singular invasion.
>and eventually leads to the scrin being outplayed
That would be exceedingly hard to do.
Kane wasn't most of humanity, and going by foreman's AI alone eventually assessed that the situation was terrible, with such rapid analysis it stands to reason that their field elements would pose considerable danger, even if whatever passes for their leadership is suboptimal (not all that much, remember that whole "Earf will faaaallll" statement).
It'd take too long to damage Scrin in any meaningful way for humanity, possibly astronomic eons, depending on how Scrin operate.
It would be an impressive campaign, though.
True, however in order for the story of the tiberian universe to continue from Tiberium Wars, the scrin plot would have to be settled, and in my opinion, taking the conflict to them is more interesting instead of it being simply another invasion of earth and the conflict revolving only around scrin attacking humanity yet again.
Too bad there will never be a proper conclusion or even continuation to the setting given how EA trashed the franchise. I refuse to acknowledge the story of CnC 4 at all because the game is utter garbage.
Throw in Kane being revealed to be the biblical Cain like old lore had it and that all his actions were all about humanity fricking the Scrin and having humans ascending as a new galactic empire, thus truly ascending.
>theshold tower activates again >kane at large >michael ironside proclaims his love for kane >scrin invade >by following the ancient scrin prophecy, michael ironsides figures out that he needs to collect 4 scrin artifacts to turn kane human >fighting GDI, Nod and scrin forces, all artifacts are collected and form a larger device >device is activated, all local scrin forces die, kane is human >michael ironside in his zone trooper armor walks off into the sunset carrying the naked human kane >act 2 starts with kane in captivity, he is reunited with michael ironside >the scrin attack and they are separated >kane follows the scrin to their home planet and enters the first portal >kane is ayy again >fighting GDI, Nod and scrin forces, kane achieves his goal of righting the wrong outcome of TibSun >he fires the world altering missile >michael ironside evacuates some people of earth >Earth turns into a giant floating tiberium crystal >all life on earth is dead >michael ironside is sad that he won't be having passionate gay sex with kane >kane floats away >act 3 starts with michael ironside reconquering earth from the new scrin mining operation >fighting GDI, Nod and scrin forces, Earth is reconquered >kane shows up to assist >to defeat the scrin threat, kane needs to ascend >the first scrin projectile vomits his energy in kane's mouth >kane ascends to godhood >defeats the evil scrin >turns to the camera and says >"perhaps we were the command and conquer four" >epilogue >kane shows up to michael ironside and they have passionate gay sex
>Already have The First Decade box >Already have the C&C Remastered combo >Still tempted to buy the bundle
Help me bros. Is there any reason not to buy? Are the ports good?
>Are the ports good?
You can actually run them in Windows 10. You can see and hear the videos. You can edit ini files as a caveman to change the resolution to something bigger than 1024x768. That's basically it.
Same, but I didn't have RA3 and it seems like a decent game despite being a little bit silly so I bought it. The DRM on the original RA3 is straight from hell so getting it from Steam might be easier.
Origin/EA App was always the biggest of pile of shit.
Reminder that people had to put up with a barely functioning Alpha version of it if they wanted to play Mass Effect 3 or Battlefield 3.
And they couldn't half the time due to it being completely broken.
I literally can't use it at all, my EA games never load in the shitty EA app. I tried everything and was forced to download an old origin install and use something called frick EA app and trick steam into thinking origin is EA app. EA is a joke
I don't know if that would work because there's so many Nod morons out there that think a genocidal maniac is a good leader. Whenever there would be a moral question, people would choose Nod / Kane.
>GDI territory is still plentiful in regular resources and commodities though the lion's share goes to the army >GDI personel largely don't want to be there >sidequests are about favours exchanged as 75% of troopers really don't want to be on the frontline >the ones that do are drunk on rage against Nod
vs >Nod territory has various degrees of scarcity >75% of combat unites really want to be there >sidequests revolve around favours for commodities >the ones that don't likely joined out of desperation
as for the story, instead of a 1000 tiberium word count or you soloing 1000 mooks, I'd suggest scavenging/surgical strikes/ejaculate and evacuate missions where you DO get extra rewards for extra objectives but that requires mastery of the game and/or tiberium enhancements which make for a good NG+
I've been keeping a close eye on a Rimworld mod, Tiberiumrim, just because I enjoy spreading and growing the crystal so much and it looks like you can really do that in that mod. Should the fricking furry ever release it.
Why is TibSun OST so good bros? I remember when everyone shat on it for being too downtempo and not the energetic C&C OST people expected back when it released.
It was an odd choice that did make sense in context, just not one that was looked upon favorably due to fears on where the series might go from there. I personally loved it but I get the apprehension behind it.
>learn she did porn >learn she did nothing else this cool in the industry >hear the porn was shit
I haven't watched it, I rather remember her as she was
Are the C&C's that recently released to steam even patched or fixed? Like it would be nice to buy the bundle but I'm not sure if it even saves time if they are unpatched messes
>play renegade >it's sarajevo temple prime raid >finally arrived at kane's personal quarter >there's a big bed and a fricking professional tv camera facing the bed
what did they mean by that
Beddy bye stories with Kozy Kane; where he sits in bed, in cozy flannel pyjamas, reading bedtime stories for all of the Littlest Brothers and Sisters of Nod
one time at a lan cafe the place had a modded version of zero hour running that added george bush as a general, along with replacing most of the soundtrack with nickelback. if i find that mod i'll play it
>GDI gets to choose which countries get a more favorable treatment >GDI chooses to help the wealthy while leaving the poor countries on their own >Kane stands up to this >west calls him a terrorist
Speaking of balance changes, is Mission 11 'Tacitus Interruptus' impossible now? Just feels like you can't ever build enough, fast enough to at least stabilize the base before getting overrun and your new power doesn't even 1 shot anything
RA(3) kinda sucks after playing C&C 3
I don't want to play MOBA-like with unit abilities and switching modes and while the ability to do that is kinda cool, it's annoying to play with
every unit needing micromanaging was a mistake. making harvesting node based was a mistake. generals powers that make static defenses pointless was a mistake.
>Oh, cool, I can play RA2 again, it's been too long >hit 'install' button on Steam >realise that I don't get to go through the cool ass RA2 install process
FRICK
SHIT
>playing C&C remastered >my units move like morons >enemy vehicles all move with laser precision and run over every infantry unit I have, while stopping on a dime to avoid my grenades
>the mortar upgrade doesn't help
Honestly I think the mortar upgrade is pretty decent but it falls off hard towards lategame, because they're just such fragile units. But you can use some pitbulls to pick off a power plant if the enemy is a noob and fails to defend properly.
KEK, they didnt even bother to remaster anything
What have they been doing for 4+ years
>they didnt even bother to remaster anything
And that's a good thing
but my boyfriend cant launch Generals
Only a problem for zoomers with tiktok brainrot.
Works on my machine.
>ripped my CDs 10 years ago
>saved the codes
>still runs flawlessly on win10
>install gentools and shockwave
>infinite good times and 0:00 particle cannons off the bottom of the screen
Look up Steam forums on Generals. You need to create a options.ini in the game's directory in your User Directory in My Documents and paste the stuff from the forum there. Those are settings that mod the game to launch. You do so and you can play the game. It also works on Zero Hour.

imagine not getting the mod which fixes that

>it's a using a commando mission
>whoops, you chose the wrong path to walk down, guess you have to reload now
This was considered 10/10 gameplay in the 90's
>should I save my game?
>no I'll just be moronic
Dude.
And what do you do when you fail the mission? Think carefully.
>reload
instant. Not time loss. This isn't what you meant.
>restart
Time loss have to do everything again. This is what you meant I know it you little c**t.
>have to make a blind choice
>save game
>make a move

>repeat several times per mission
Both options are awful timewasting, so it doesn't really matter which one you think I meant.
>oh no the consequences of my actions, how could I have foreseen this ?
>bomb sam site
>lose half health somehow
i love that one gdi bonus mission where you have to blow up 3 sam sites before you get your base, depending on the RNG the sites may spawn 1-2 minigunners who kill your commando and theres no way to avoid this.
I had surprising amounts of fun playing through the remaster of OG otherwise, but this and the mission with suiciding civilians next to a tiberium field were inexcusable.
I GOT A PRESENT FOR YA
BWAHAHAHA
THAT WAS LEFT HANDED
>"We're sending a Commando"
>it's the whole fricking game and you're the Commando
Renegade was awesome frick you if you didn't like it
dont get me wrong renegade was fricking lit but that campaign was not half bad
I only recently played it a few weeks ago on commando and its moronic the way the enemies spawn infront of you half the time and kill you
I only wish that the maps with choppers enabled allowed you to have parachutes to not make you die once it got blown up
generals commandos and RA3 commandos were commandos done right. Nobody cares about a guy who rapes infantry but cant deal damage to a vehicle.
Your Cyborg commando bro?
C&C3 GDI Commando jetpacking and C4'ing in the same move was kino too
>Cyborg commando
God this guy was so based, hands down my favourite unit and a terror on the field unless you had aircraft to take him out
yeah the cyborg was okay, forgot about the guy.
>Boris shredding tanks with an AK
>Volkov just melting everything with a pistol
Russians know how to build their super troopers
>Volkov
God damn that mission was pure power fantasy, one of my favorite ones of the series
I GOT A PRESENT FOR YA
HA HA HA, NO PROBLEM
kind of funny they're still selling the games they released as freeware
moronic boomers buy and fix them themselves, kekw
I unironically have c&c games installed on my shitposting laptop
>"Tiberian Sun Game"
>"Play Red Alert 2"
Why would you keep the original filenames? Just rename them. Right click their icon <> rename.
I wouldn't have desktop games on my PC, they are all in start or steam.
>shitposting laptop
are you that racist?
>After the launch of the first C&C Remastered Collection
That doesnt have Red Alert 2
Do I have to sign up for EA Play and pay a monthly fee to play the games? Still confused about that
No you don't need EA account or paying fees or anything just pay the 10 bucks, it's might be a test to see if c&c is still relevant and if it's worth making a new sequel
Pro tip for poor gays : you can buy the individual games from the bundle if you want to.
1. Go to steamdb of the C&C game you want to buy
2. Click add to cart
3. Proceed to buy and play it
no option for add to cart
baka
try this link senpai
https://steamdb.info/sub/799317/
whats the difference between sites the frick.
I used this earlier today and it had that option. weird. they must have removed the loophole lol.
nah I added it to my cart
now im just not sure if i really want to buy it since I am not an rts guy.
barely played RA3 and CnC remaster
your call. RA2's campaign is the best in the entire series, perhaps even in all of RTS games.
sod it I got it
you have to edit the ini files to get it running in 1080p. check out the steam guides for it.
that is a problem for future me
Welp I got all mainline RA games now(except uprising)
Don't forget
My dad purchased physical release of CnC4
might still have the case somewhere in my home.
you can get other cnc games individually i figured out
is explanation
>C&C they are billions edition.
meant for
>not removing it from account
shame.
What's wrong with it?
It killed the series, it's not a conventional RTS and no one liked it.
From what I read after buying the bundle, you don’t mine, and there’s a 10 unit max limit…
whats right with it is the shorter answer..... title theme was good ... that's it really
I might be stupid, I can't find the add to cart button.
you need to login to steamdb to get the option dum dum.
I don't see it
try this link
and the option appears right next to install.
any luck anon?
still nothing
https://steamdb.info/sub/799317/
go to this link
Add steamdb extension to your browser(just hit add to cart when its greyed out)
log into steam on the same browser
then hit add game to cart
OOOOOOOOOOOOH it works now, I didn't have the extension installed, thanks :3
post library after
waiting for my money
Kane looks like someone you can come across at a techno party
>not Yuri
>6.5k players in game
what the frick? that's great
as
said
best campaign in RA series
basically it was supposed to be spinoff for asiatic esports or moba shit that was hastily pushed as a mainline entry
Neat, I have 3 dollars extra, I'll buy general for my friend
fug, I bought the whole thing just for generals
oh you also need to get the extension as
says.
did it work for you anon?
yep. It did but only that specific link
assuming I can get only one C&C game besides RA2, what would you guys suggest? also I didn't like base game of C&C generals that much.
God, I loved scraping the dirt off the rollers.
I remember having one of these, don't know what I did with it, it was a relic of the past I kinda wanted to keep
Cleaning the wheel was so satisfying
Which games are actually worth getting? I only played a bit of ra1 as a kid.
honestly im just playing cnc remaster
but then ive never been a big rts fan.
and from what ive seen its a very good remaster
>Buying from EA
You fricking moron
LetsrockletsroI'mthereletsrockmwahahahahaha
I really like 95 and RA1, but don't like Tiberian Sun at all.
Tibsun has the best atmosphere of all C&C mainline games.
Fields of green
and AI spam
This mission and the desert one that gives you your first tank are fricking balls to the wall hard
Still mad they ruined the campaign with fricking multiplayer balancing
Kind of lost interest in the vanilla campaign during the protect the convoy mission, but yeah I remember them being challenging. Now I know why.
Is there a mod that brings back the original balance these missions were designed for?
https://www.moddb.com/mods/cnc-3-original-campaign-balance-patch
Noice, thanks
I didn’t know that existed and explains why it felt like I was playing horde mode
What in the absolute frick is that?? How can anyone win against that? This is insane, this is absolutely unbelievable!
there's a little button on the bottom that lays LANDMINES and you could not fill everything up with RKT units that suck vs Infantry
I doubt landmines or even putting in rifles would have helped.
mmm, yeah it would have because on how the bridge is set up so you could filter some, might have been better to use grenadiers. This is ofc not counting if you went up and captured the NOD base for the OP flame throwers
Capture and train flametanks with what? They haven't even got the MCV yet.
1 harvester, still turning on and off buildings to have power for defenses
with a rush of engineers inside of APC ofc
you only need to capture a NOD constriction yard before steamrolling the rest of the upper base
Now that's a proper fire focus.
17 second in, suddenly They Are BIllions. I don't even think Tanya could take on that many infantry.
Tanya could definitely take on that many infantry.
Just stack them on tiberium and let them die lol, they're not upgraded with that gay anti tiberium shit
>Tiberium became less deadly with every game
what other nice c&c webms are there
I'm probably just being a true contrarian but I actually kinda like the moronic difficulty of the Nod Tib dawn missions
I only played RA1, RA3, CNC3 AND CNC4 back in the day so I have absolutely no nostalgia for the original Tib game
even then its still bullshit because flamethrowers and grenades can randomly crit and instakill an entire squad, and if you send them in 1 by 1 you die regardless.
>plays RA1 and RA3
>Skips the best one
ngmi
iconic nod moments
great atmosphere, underwhelming gameplay
Tibsun and Firestorm were my favorite rts games as a kid. I still enjoy some mods for them every now and then.
>posting TI/MO/any other C&C mod
Thread turning to shit by a group of autists in 3, 2, 1...
I don't follow the autism lore surrounding this, is it because of some internal gay drama or something?
God that vanilla CY looks so out of place
TI changed hands several times and the last guy to end up in charge basically sabotaged it because lol, lmao even.
Not much of a surprise, TI always seemed like MO's struggling moronic younger brother. The only parts that worked were the aesthetics and music.
There's one anon who genuinely cannot shut the frick up about some C&C mod, so every time there's a C&C thread up, he has to go in there and act like he's on a mission from god to frick up the thread.
Why is she dressed like that when she's voicing Commander's UI?
You didn't see the ending?
Oh I had Tiberian games on my mind when I wrote it.
>
That's Tanya, not Eva.
honestly i've tried tibsun for a bit before
it feels like a slower, more clunky ra2
couldn't get used to the controls
i've started playing the campaign and i'm current stuck in the allies final mission (act one)
i've also fricked with skirmish a bit with ai, but even the easy ai without this 'mental omega ai assist' thing is wrecking my shit already
haven't really played competitive ra2 and based on that experience alone, i'm probably not gonna fare well on it
i've been playing mental omega
i think im a casul
>mental omega
don't, it's competitive slop, play it for the campaign (if they bothered letting you save the multi-hour missions) and be done
MO campaign is dogshit
don't bother with it at all, then
anyone know how to play ra2 in a window?
Man I've missed these games so much, gonna replay all of them again
?si=YcsR-aUza1u-pMg6
My favourite vidya cutscene to this day is still from tib sun, it goes unbelievably hard.
Post your CNCfu anons, for me its Oxana, i know most people prefer red alert girls but for me it's her

There is a way to just get RA2 (

If you can find the right link you should be able to get renegade only

I assume it should work
where do I get started. got the whole bundle and wondering what fixes and shit I need for the series and should I skip anything to get to the later games
Imagine if TW was more like Tiberian Sun
Only Zero Hour and Red Alert 3 were good
RA3 is trash is so is your opinion mongoloid
You have to do so much babysitting of your units in this game it kind of takes the fun out of playing. You can't order units to defend an area or another unit, if you tell a group to cross a bridge or go through a pass inevitably the units in the back of the line will decide the way is blocked and try to go the long way around through enemy territory and get killed, if you try to stage units outside the enemy base there's no way to tell them not to fire on the harvester and avoid the enemy deciding to rush you.
Yes
Imagine the surge in the modding community.
B-but [insert mod] is bad because of reasons (that reason being one autist spamming the hate everywhere like he's on a mission from god).
I tried playing C&C and I got filtered by like the 3rd or 4th mission. Switched to tiberium sun and now I'm having fun.
WE GOT THE ROCKETS WE GOT THE ROCKETS WE GOT THE ROCKETS WE GOT THE ROCKETS WE GOT THE ROCKETS
I loved C&C Generals 20 years ago, I have a feeling it holds up. But I doubt it'll get a remaster since the PLA is a little too... real
PLO was as real now as it was 20 years ago. newbie
I am personally going to find and kill each and every GDIgay in this thread.
Peace through power.
preach
Preach, Brother anon.
>ea app slop not required
I'm surprised
I bought dungeon keeper and alpha centauri instead of this rtslop
we get it youre "trans af"
I bought your mother
can I join in with remote play together.
>alpha centauri
kek half the screenshots on the store page are from tech research cutscenes
a little deceptive
how likely is it that we'll get a new cnc
We already wished on that monkeys paw and got a mobile game. Unless some company can prove to EA execs RTS is back, I would say doubtful. Maybe they might do some more remastering.
I think the success or failure of Stormgate will decide the near-term future of the genre.
I want to go home
what mod?
Why are they releasing this now? What's the end game here? Are they testing the waters for a new game?
from this trailer, my guess is that it's part of their new initiative to release all their classic games every month or so on steam to earn more money. the suits must have caught on that nostalgia sells sometimes even more than the new crap they are making (from few examples in the market).
It's me John Nod and I need $4000 to uuhhh destroy GDI, Peace through power.
Desecration of the Messiah
>remake
Are you sure you want that?
Dude I just played Red Alert for the first time in 25 years. I loved this RTS more than anything back in the day. The campaign is perfect
RA2 is even better
Tib Sun remake WHEN
SOON™
I hope they won't censor generals and zero hour IF they remastered them
OK I just bought the bundle. Never played one before, which should I start with?
from c&c 1. If it doesn't click then skip to tibsun / RA2.
generals ofc
No he has to earn generals by playing the other ones, it will also be funnier with the context of the other games
thread theme btw
the remastered brain freeze would have been the best of the bunch, but it had to include d*bstep
Someone gifted me the C&C Remastered collection, I'm afraid if I play it I'm going to learn the games aren't as good as I remember them.
I played the original and it definitely shows its age. The unit pathfinding is moronic and though the remaster adds help text encouraging you to think in terms of matching up units with targets they're good at destroying, you can just build a bunch of tanks and destroy everything in your path. And the remaster removes the exploit where you can send a unit to the top of the map and draw the computer's napalm strike away from your base, so I'm surprised they didn't nerf sand bags, which remain the strongest weapon in the game.
i found this with red alert, path finding is idiotic.
red alert 2 has better pathfinding (though still fairly dumb)
i also feel the AI is harder in RA2.
Tib Sun is still hard af though
I wish I could zoom out more in C&C Generals. This is filtering me
for me it is the opposite. C&C feels perfect but playing supcom is very annoying as I feel the need to zoom in to actually see my units.
You can, download the ini files from here: https://www.moddb.com/games/cc-generals/downloads/ini-files
It contains all the inis for Generals and Zero Hour, but you just need gamedata.ini. Then edit the MaxCameraHeight value. If you raise it too much you have to enable DrawEntireTerrain too.
>we will NEVER get another game where you can play as middle eastern arab terrorists ever again
cant even have my bread and circus anymore, its too offensive to these people
cs2 "came out" like 5 months ago
>slotmachine simulator in disguise as a generic fps got an engine update
csgay was released in 2012
yeah that's why i said came out in quotes, but my point is it's a high profile game that got a lot of attention with it's update and no one complained about you playing as middle eastern terrorists for about half your time when that happened.
you dont get to suicide bomb people in csgay last I remembered
That is correct, I suppose there isn't the exact fantasy of that kind of thing in modern games, maybe you have a point that it wouldn't fly today.
red alert 4 should have an islamic caliphate terrorist faction
what is this then? https://store.steampowered.com/app/1714420/Fursan_alAqsa_The_Knights_of_the_AlAqsa_Mosque/
>that German censorship version
Amuses me each time
>getting my ass kicked on normal campaign for RA2
Oh no i Have brain problems
take some time to learn the hotkeys with skirmish matches then you can breeze through everything.
ass kicked in normal? Are you even building units? GI infantry in basegame are stupid OP and once you get rocketeers nothing else matters. If youre playing Soviets just spam rhinos
man I just don't know if I want 12 old ass command & conquer games shitting up my already huge library when I just want to play RA2
you can buy it separately using
and
. now you have no excuses.
>watch dial on the underside of the wrist
A true supervillain
There's an easy way to clean up your library.
I bought the library since I lost the discs to most of these games a decade ago, so it's nice to have the option to go down memory lane whenever I want.
kek, well I have just started organising my games into folders, it's shit like pic rel that annoys the frick out of me
move aside, RA2lets, the true king has arrived
>EA logo front and centre
>Westwood nowhere to be seen
ok corpotroon
>RA2 peak : 6000 players
>Generals peak : 2000 players
OH NONONONO
do you have a single source to back that up?
Even RA2 surely had more than 6000 players online during launch
im talking peaks for this steam release. go check it for yourself in steamdb.info
>Chinksectoid inflate numbers
Shocking
Why aren't you playing some Call of Duty or something?
a guy named Terraria is talking about ad populum fallacy. how ironic.
>steamcharts for games that are 20+ years old back when you actually owned the games you bought
wow sure showed us
LOOK THIS DOESNT COUNT yeah we know red alert 2 is the franchise favourite and is more popular but WE ALL KNOW the best good one here is based zero hour
>is the franchise favourite
amongst chinks lol
Generals was always a prince to the Dual Kings of TS And RA2
Is Renegade X still a thing? I enjoyed that for what is was.
Original Renegade Multiplayer was a fever dream for me as a kid, literally a game I prayed for
They ruined it with sprint
Also the abilities to call in airstrikes, zoomies would get filtered by OG ren
they're making firestorm now. their games would get so much traction if it is on steam though.
Call me filtered since i have not played it for over a decade but i remember getting destroyed by fricking sheep enemies
Cheers old friend. Welcome back.
What's a good CnC game to play? Are the campaign focused or is there fun 1v1 action?
every C&C game is good and has their own pros and cons (except 4 we dont talk about that game). RA2 has the best campaign and is most competitive online. check out gameplay videos and decide on which game to try.
I'm going to go off of your Ganker post and nothing else and buy RA2
Don't forget Yuri's revenge
RA2 and Tiberian Sun are GOATed, but CnC95 and RA1 are worth playing. Generals and ZeroHour are also good but there's a clear change in design of the games from Generals onward.
I liked tiberium wars because there was the doctor house bawd calling me commander
>gdi is was suddenly blue
tbh this did bother me, why did they abandon the gold + earthly colours for cold blue?
Are these worth playing for the single player content if I didn't grow up with the RTS genre? They look fun
not super into rts
but id say maybe get the remastered collection
contains both cnc1 and ra1 with bunch of features to make them properly run on modern macheenes and qol
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1213210/Command__Conquer_Remastered_Collection/
Yes but expect some jank and QOL problems here and there
Ehhh.
RA2 campaign specifically mixes things up to break this monotony. hell it has the most memorable and wild setpieces in RTS campaigns like capturing the eiffel tower to use it as a tesla coil, bombing the pentagon / Kremlin, time travelling etc.
>invade an allied base, capture their secret tech
>capture power plants across the map before the enemy does
>escape into the past just as worldwide mind control wave goes off
>fight off dinosaurs
>arrive to the beginning of the main invasion, take out both allies and your eventual traitor
And thats mission 1.
>I'm not scvimming out there! Get me armoured transport
thats yuris revenge, the base RA2 campaign is much more bland.
These games are 90% single player content so you never have to touch multiplayer to enjoy these.
Quick rundown -
>CNC95 and Red Alert: Quite basic and antiquated with extreme bullshit difficulty at parts, probably not that great without nostalgia goggles. Play the remaster if you want to enjoy these more.
>Tiberian Sun: Amazing atmosphere and music, gameplay fluctuates between fun and insane bullshit jank.
>Red Alert 2: One of the peaks of the franchise, a must play.
>Generals: Not a true CNC technically but still fun, also worth playing
>CNC3: The most modern one, can be hit or miss but it has the most Kane out of all of them which is its own plus. Campaign is kind of fricked without mods. Kanes Wrath has a lot of content though.
>CNC4: DO NOT RESEARCH
>Red Alert 3: Funny live action but the gameplay is aggressively mid.
>Renegade: The most experimental shooter of all time, your mileage may vary.
>Campaign is kind of fricked without mods.
what ya mean?
they did balance patches for units but the patches also applied to the campaign as well, making some missions unwinnable. Theres workarounds but its still annoying that the mission objectives they give you are literally not possible to perform anymore.
huh now that you mention keep thinking why the nod turrets from CnC3 kanes wrath feel so weak. Remember playing it back in 2009 and then static defenses could hold on their own.
there was also major economic nerfs to harvesting, the nefs ONLY applied on the player side, the CPU didnt count so it's economy was literally almost double yours at all times. If I could find the devs who made that decision id burn their homes down
Balance changes aimed at multiplayer in patches also affect the singleplayer campaign, which fricks up the balance. Generally it makes everything harder, because there are some major economy nerfs made to the game, and missions where you are supposed to rely on certain unit types can get real hard if those units got nerfed.
I don't know if they changed it back but cnc remaster had some AI tweaks that makes at least one of the commando missions a race against time because the AI now firebombs him
>Still no RA2 remaster
Why?
>EA
>Doing the bare minimum
They are literally just that lazy anon
now you're using argument ad hominem
are you trying to get a fallacy bingo done here?
I don't like the way these new C&C threads are going.
Would you rather discuss mod cringe?
there is no resistance.
I bought the bundle
What's your favorite C&C? I'm going with Red Alert 2 but I have only played the first one, Red Alert and RA2. I think I wanna try Generals next
for me it is tibsun. It's apocalyptic and dying earth done right
I only had C&C 1, RA, and Generals back in the day and Generals was definitely my favorite.
RA2:YR for sure, but Generals is also fun. I haven't touched Zero Hour yet, might as well give that a try too
Remastered TibDawn and RA1 are both fun too
RA2 > YR
but i like my mass robot tanks and battle fortresses
Irrelevant when mass prism tanks are nigh invincible
yeah but the robot tanks are still fun as they can go over water
>boot up the first game as nod
>the very first mission is to burn down an African village, kill all civilians and execute the local warlord as an example
Holy frick
frickin based
similar start to soviet campaign in RA1 where you massacre a village.
it was a different time
I don't know what you're talking about anon, GDI clearly burnt that village down for sympathizing with our cause
can you believe this GDI shill? we've had enough with your israeli tricks. just wait till you play GLA campaign in generals
Enjoy the show.
Rule of thumb: Always play GDI before Nod.
I will keep this in mind, nod just looks like it has more flavour and fun stuff where gdi apperas to be the more vanila so i went with nod first.
GDI parts are kind of the appetizer whereas the NOD parts are the main meal with dessert.
It's pretty much a rule in thumb in all of video games that the experience is best when you play forces of light before you play the forces of darkness. Of course C&C switched this around because everyone knows Nod are the good guys.
God, how does Kane have such high charisma? Dude mogs everyone.
He's literally the first murderer in existance.
Also an alien according to C&C4
nod campaign difficult curve is kind of whack
This, after around Mission 7 Nod campaign goes way too fricking hard
Yeah?
I nearly fricked it boys
great work comrade. a second late and our entire invasion would have failed.
>Found C&C: The last decade collecting dust in a cabinet
>Every C&C game up to and including Generals: Zero hour
>Even that one FPS game
>Still works flawlessly except for a patcher you have to DL for generals
Oh yeah, that's the shit. I'm playing everything that's on this thing
>that one mission in generals where you can topple coast of an entire Middle Eastern city block by block with big naval guns for fun
>big naval guns retired and probably never coming back
>military increasingly becoming gayer
The correlation is 1 to 1.
What other games can you call in naval artillery? World in Conflict?
shogun 2 fall of the samurai
Thank you.
what's your favorite C&C track?
For me it is Full Stop
>match loads
>grinder starts playing
?si=lUAlD4lTW9jZ3rPh
It's peak
Act on Instinct and the Generals main theme.
?si=ap51rVT6iUrMF0ui
>the buildup
>it fits so well and even adds to the tib sun atmosphere
Pharotek is underrated
YOUR FEELING OF HELPLESSNESS IS YOUR BEST FRIEND SAVAGE
Grinder, this harry potter shit kicks so fricking hard it's not even funny, just makes you go into FULL FRICK mode
Frick, it's hard to choose just one
Never play any CnC except for general, which ones are must have?
RA2, tibsun, zero hour, C&C3, kanes wrath. for C&C1 get the remastered if you want to.
RA3 and uprising aren't bad either.
RA3 can be fun and has good visual effects, especially for the time, has entertaining cutscenes, but what brings it down for me is how they had to make every single unit in the game gimmicky in order to emulate starcraft 2 and how they made the campaign co-op.
>remove games from individual sale to force you to buy this collection
>when people already have cnc + red alert from the recent remaster and don't need to buy them
i hate ea so much. i don't even want to buy these anywhere except gog because i cannot actually trust whatsoever that ea ensures they run and aren't bricked
>force you
you can buy them separately as people have mentioned in this thread, it's just slightly obfuscated.
my boomer uncle calls all top down games "command and conquer"
ADVERTISER SAMA GET DOWN
>bundle a bunch of freewares and sell it
Why are they so israelite. I suspect EA already canned all the remastered plan and just decide to dump them all as they are.
anytime a company suddenly drops a bunch of old games for sale, it's an interest gauge.
>freeware
aside from C&C and RA, which ones are freeware?
Tib sun is freeware
>they released them without steam multiplayer
These homosexuals are lucky the community kept alternate ways to play the games online for them.
https://gruntmods.com/dune_2000_gruntmods_edition/
If you anons like classical c&c games you can try dune 2000 as well, it's free and i believe they lost rights to this one so it's not getting officially rereleased anyway
dunc seems like a really cool IP for RTS
It is. Dune 2 is THE primordial RTS from which the entire genre descends.
Crazy to think that the resource gathering mechanic only exists because of Dune. I wonder what RTS would have looked like if Dune never existed.
>it's called Dune 2 only because they knew the Dune game made by Cryo released first at the time
Shit's wild.
Put that pic on fullscreen and juust inhale the pixels. Take it all in. Perfect.
We need to bring 320x240 back.
Is this the mod that lets you play as House Corrino?
No, but it does have mercenary missions and it brings the game higher resolution and modern system compatibility.
Wait there's mod for that? I thought only the civ4 mod lets you do that
Wasn't that a mod for the original Dune 2? It was House Corrino and Smugglers I think.
C&C4 can't be that bad, can it? also why did they make Zero Hour chinese propaganda?
At the time, China was viewed as a backwards, Totalitarian shithole that's only good for sweat shop labor.
Granted, China is largely still just that, but now they have delusions of grandeur. It was funny to make them the SAVIOURS OF EVROPA
It's genuinely thát bad, yes.
what's so bad about it?
>shitty campaign with just one storyline, with the option of choosing a side at one point, with two shitty endings
>shitty units, no base building, you get a mobile base instead
>pop cap
>Kane being done dirty
>forced online service
It's one of those things you can truly understand if you played the entire C&C series up to that point.
Don't forget that it is also aesthetically fricking horrid.
Man that thing looks crippled wtf
Has stroggification gone too far?
Don't forget the horribly, horribly shit multiplayer. YOU HAVE TO GRIND AND UNLOCK UNITS.
Oh my god it was like a shitty live service game long before those became mainstay i get it
>Zero Hour chinese propaganda?
>Still no planetside style cnc game
>pick either nod, scrin or gdi and duke it out on a huge map with one player being the "commander" and placing buildings while other players have to build, go out and gather tiberium etc.
It's not fair.
just play renegade x
I used to play a lot of natural selection 2. You don't really want it.
this fricker's face is going to be a longer running meme than baneposting, isn't it?
It's basically used the same way as wojack so yes it will.
don't know how people struggle with Home Front, you can win it with 5 rhino tanks and 5 subs
Is there any mod that just improves the graphics of Red Alert 2, like higher resolution, textures and higher quality for the FMVs without changing the gameplay?
Yes, it's called Command & Conquer 2™ Remastered Collection. Ask EA to share it.
Shame 🙁
Cnc net installer gives you higher resolutions and a way to play online
Why the frick is C&C doing on steam? What the frick is EA doing? Are they trying to milk things so hard?
Origin flopped ages ago.
This would mean the next games being:
>RA2 + YR | TS + FS
>RA3 + Uprising | KW + TW
>RA4 can frick off and get a full rework
I would kill for a proper Tiberian Sun remaster, would be even better if they implemented Red Alert 2 gameplay and especially added some features that didn't make it into the game, such as day and night cycle, for example.
ctrl+alt for the proper attack move in tib sun and ra2, have fun anons
Virgin Kane
>what? A full frontal attack on the pentagon? Noooo impossible better kill my second in command
Chad Romanov
>full frontal attack on the pentagon? Excellent first mission for comrade general. Infantry should suffice.
How would you end Tiberian story?
By giving Kane a goodnight kiss
the commander from RA accidentally travels to the future.
The GDI commander goes into the future to save the present.
The Nod commander goes into the past to conquer the present.

>mission involves defending the time machine from the opposing faction
>first time using the time machine goes awry
>this time, instead of sending you to the time of the dinosaurs or something, you get teleported to some alternative version of Earth, that takes place in the 1970s, where funny looking blue, red and purple enemies attack you from three sides for X amount of minutes
Don't open that door!
Tiberian Powered rocket to save humanity from Tiberian launches the last of mankind into the Tiberian Sun
ORDERS
DISMISSED
>he thinks Scrin don't compartmentalize their tiberium storage
>a fricking extradimensional empire with some spatial engineering skills
Anon, I...
Would be pretty kino ending

from my understanding these are just straight ports with no changes.
though ive yet to play them
iirc it was supposed to be esport/moba tier shit for asiatic markets that was pushed into mainline cnc game
>Are the ports good?
You can actually run them in Windows 10. You can see and hear the videos. You can edit ini files as a caveman to change the resolution to something bigger than 1024x768. That's basically it.
>Windows 10
>using any Windows past 7
I'd rather use QNX out of all things. Man did Microsoft went into meh directions.
Same, but I didn't have RA3 and it seems like a decent game despite being a little bit silly so I bought it. The DRM on the original RA3 is straight from hell so getting it from Steam might be easier.

EA is a joke

a full modding is what I'm thinking of
I still want a role playing game or immersive simulation set in the tiberium universe
I don't know if that would work because there's so many Nod morons out there that think a genocidal maniac is a good leader. Whenever there would be a moral question, people would choose Nod / Kane.
>GDI territory is still plentiful in regular resources and commodities though the lion's share goes to the army

vs
>Nod territory has various degrees of scarcity
>75% of combat unites really want to be there
>sidequests revolve around favours for commodities
>the ones that don't likely joined out of desperation
as for the story, instead of a 1000 tiberium word count or you soloing 1000 mooks, I'd suggest scavenging/surgical strikes/ejaculate and evacuate missions where you DO get extra rewards for extra objectives but that requires mastery of the game and/or tiberium enhancements which make for a good NG+
I want a quest where you play as Kane, but I don't know any QM that could pull it off.
Still a dream of mine
I've been keeping a close eye on a Rimworld mod, Tiberiumrim, just because I enjoy spreading and growing the crystal so much and it looks like you can really do that in that mod. Should the fricking furry ever release it.
Why is TibSun OST so good bros? I remember when everyone shat on it for being too downtempo and not the energetic C&C OST people expected back when it released.
It was an odd choice that did make sense in context, just not one that was looked upon favorably due to fears on where the series might go from there. I personally loved it but I get the apprehension behind it.

pitbull sucks dick, the mortar upgrade doesn't help. Can't even defend from a single heli like unit
>the mortar upgrade doesn't help
Honestly I think the mortar upgrade is pretty decent but it falls off hard towards lategame, because they're just such fragile units. But you can use some pitbulls to pick off a power plant if the enemy is a noob and fails to defend properly.

>load up RA2 in 1080p

Just like the old days.
>>1:1 resolution, so shit's small
Not only that but the range of attacks is hard to handle since the circles are so small
First Allied mission is so nostalgic.
RA2 and Tiberian Sun remasters when?
People speculated the second remaster with Tiberian Sun and RA2 didn't happen because the source code for one of these games was lost.

For me? I like to play 1 vs 4 AI enemies on Tiberian Sun.

A-A-A-Any chance of this being released on PS4?
It's barely a port of the originals as-is, only supposed to entice people in EA's trash launcher
no way it's going to a last gen console
>RTS on console
For what purpose?
reminder that Pikmin is still the greatest RTS game
You're posting here which means you have a PC capable of playing it. Those kinds of console ports existed for people who had no choice.
Tendies be gone.
Not that anon but you can post from the PS4 web browser
I don't want to believe anyone would do that.
