Well /vr/, how hardcore are you?
Reminder: beat means cleared on one credit single segment, obviously no cheats or rewind or anything, stuff like autofire or playing on emulator is fine

Not sure what you mean by one credit single segment, but I’ve beaten 11 of those.
Single segment means you didn't save and quit and take a break eg for lunch.
1 credit means you never got a game over and had to continue.
No Battletoads for the NES?
14 (counting all 3 Ninja Gaiden games as 1)
but many of these are far from being "the hardest of all time". Here are 3 NES games which are harder than most of these
>Adventure Island
>1943
>Micro Machines
It's a shame no one is aware that Pugsly's Scavenger Hunt belongs on these lists.
Why 1 credit? If the end credits roll them game is over. Regardless, if I need 30+ credits for that to happen. Like metal slug 3 with no continues is OD. Extra credits/continues are essential
Casual gamers>hardcore gamers
Depends how the credits are done. In OG arcade MS3, if you add a continue, it keeps going from where you died, which defeats the point of a challenge and so 1cc makes sense. MS3 on xbox however makes you start a stage over again once you run out of lives, which is a fair challenge without expecting you to only play the whole game all the way from the start or with no set backs at all.
>mortal kombat 2
>hard
OP please go be casual somewhere else
That was my first thought. Also Super Empire lol. This chart is hilarious.
>maximo
>oddworld
>fricking fzero
none of those games are hard
I would have picked House of the Dead over Time Crisis
Daioujou is the only real hard game there and the one that forces you to 1cc
Sorry I chose having sex over being a """GamerTM"""
only GamersTM think having sex means anything to everyone else having sex was just a regular monday
You tried.
Your hands should be on your controller, not your dingdang.
Oops I missed
I understand that this is bait but why in the frick is autofire fine? This is literally cheating
Because about 25 years ago everyone who was good at arcade games realized autofire makes 90% of them more fun to play and it trickled down as social standard
I'd rather not be a gamer than play shmups and cinematic platformers.
well let's see
>castlevania iii
>zelda ii
aaaaannd that's it. should've put more castlevania games on there. some of these are on my list though, couldn't get past a boss in megaman zero 2 but i beat the first game despite it being harder apparently. also why is smt if on there? i thought that was supposed to be an easy one for beginners to the smt series.
Sick "Hardest Games Ever" starter pack bro
Everyone thinks you're the coolest poster on this board now.
Several of these are not hard especially Mario 2 and Zelda 2 those are only difficult to modern Nintendo onions drinkers who haven't played real video games before.
It's impossible for Super Mario Bros Lost Levels to be in this list. I can beat it.
How are the Discworld games difficult? Did they pulled a Sierra where you could reach a dead end or what? Pixel hunting?
Damn I only beat five of these.
>Hagane
>Metal Slug 3
>Ikaruga
>Radiant Silvergun
>Einhander
>CV3
>Lost Levels
>Time Crisis
>Zelda 2
>Blaster Master
phew, just made it
Why would anyone subject themselves to the torture that is Double Dragon 3 Arcade?
I beat castlevania III and the ninja gaiden duology, between them I probably used several hundred continues. I beat contra 3(normal) with the default amount of continues, though I had to savestate practice the final boss. I beat the games.
Again, just seeing the credits is not beating it.
>boomerslop
frick off back to Ganker with your jarpigs and moviegames you underage moron
>Again, just seeing the credits is not beating it.
cute fan fiction
you used cheats to beat the games, it's an important distinction
The computer in MK2 cheats like a motherfricker and that's not my opinion, it's a fact
Weird seeing MKII there, because the incredibly cheap CPU allows you to do some hilarious things.
You can easily three-hit every match with Jax, change to Sub-Zero after Jade, edge abuse Kintaro, then block uppercut ShaoKhan for a free 1 coin win.
the frick, 2/3rds of those are literal baby games for toddlers that I beat when I was 3
Yeah and some of the only hard ones have much more difficult counterparts, they're just enthusiast games so /vr/ hasn't played them
Would love to see a chart like this curated by people who aren't retord
Only "beat" Adventure of Link, using every inch of bullshit emulation could offer. Can confirm it's hard as hell, and not fun.
>mfw it's all boomerslop "we didn't have the budget or talent to make a full game so we just went for tons of artificial difficulty to pad out the playtime"
If your "game" can be beaten in 30 minutes then you have a demo, not a game.
The actual experience of beating (1ccing) a difficult 30 minute arcade game is many hours though. You are equating the runtime of the successful attempt to the overall time of play, which is in fact, moronic
>it's ok if i'm bad at games and take a really long time to complete them due to fricking up so much because it means that i get to play them for much longer
weird cope but ok
You're moronic and don't have any clears.
By your definition literally everyone in the world is dogshit at video games, given how long certain arcade games took to clear
they weren't meant to be cleared by normal people without pumping money into them
i play with rewind enabled so i finish in one go and then i go out with friends 🙂
>moc_pryd01
it's more that they didn't have cartidge capacity
who gives a frick
Cool now beat all the Wizardry games.
>Well /vr/, how hardcore are you?
I beat God Hand
3 GnG entries but no ssf:2010. Frickin Black folk.
Ultimate GnG is ridiculously hard, the amount of danger thrown at you in each screen is like bullet hell tier
So good though
Playing the revised JP kai version
Gokumakaimura Kai
Why would I want to be a *****r
No, simply beating a game doesn't mean you have to have 1CC'd it.
If the game is around 1 hour long and has a continue system and no save options chances are 1cc is the way to beat it, like arcade games.
If it's got save points and is many hours long like jarpigs or walking sim or other braindead genres of course 1cc doesn't make much sense
I 2-ALL'd all the Strikers 1945 trilogy
Bullshit post proof
>SMT If
Really?
youd have to be a fricking weirdo to beat SMT: if in one single segment.
Streets of Rage 4 on Mania+ difficulty in arcade mode is harder than most of these. My dad and I beat Lion King, that game was fairly brutal. I know this isn't /vr/ related but I'd put Noita on a list of very hard games, though maybe not *the* hardest. especially if you are counting only the true ending as "beating" the game. then it's easily one of the hardest.
Gtfo zoomer shitter
I'm not a g*mer, and that's a good thing 🙂
i honestly spend more time industrial dancing and moshing with catgirls than i do g#ming
