They are literally just fricking palette swaps, typhlosion idle is almost barely different to the regular

i hate how stocky h-decidueye looks. i do not like how aggressively metrosexual h-typhlosion looks but his ghostly fire theme is cool. i do not like how samurott looks in general.
i don't hate them, i like the idea of starters getting alts like this and typhlosion's probably my favorite starter so him getting any attention is fine by me but i have a lot of nitpicks with them.
I get decidueye being based of a shogun, and samurott is (lightly) based off a samurai/ soldier but wtf is ghost typhlosion supposed to be
Typhlosion is an Onmyogi with some hearth goddess thrown in

H-Typhlosion's chuunibyo design is a contrast to the banchō design of its Johto form, but it still manages to carry the spirit of juvenile rebellion. Also leans on Shinto as an inspiration.

I get that it's meant to be symbolic of a ronin, and may even draw direct inspiration from the design of Hijikata Toshizo as portrayed in Golden Kamuy, I can't help but find it a bit bland in the same way that U-Samurott feels a bit bland.

Typhlosion was improved, but Frisk as HA makes it worthless. Would have been better off keeping Flash Fire.
Samurott is pretty overpowered for the better. It might also get Psyblade as a tutor move, which has synergy with Sharpness HA.
Decidueye is an improvement, thyplosion managed to get a better movepool so he won in the end despite being lame and samurot is good

Could have been done better. Nothing really unique about him, & I love Samurott.
The new Sam doesn't live by morals/honor and would do whatever it takes to test the sharpness of it's blades (look up what Night Slash is based on), hence the dark type.
Most samurai were terrible people. People have this romanticized view on samurai as honorable warriors with the bushido code and seipukku but the actual samurai would lop off the heads of their victims and present it to their lords to be praised and rewarded. Head viewing ceremonies were a real and common thing. H-Samurott is a better depiction of samurai than the unovan samurott.
