At least he followed his principles

Do you think he actually killed that guy or it's a prop to make him look cool
What was his name again?
Him or his machine?
He is Black Shadown
He drives Black Bull
Blood Falcon doesn't have a real name.
It's Richard.
He killed that guy, but that guy was just anotehr clone made by Black Shadow so that Blood Falcon would have a prop to make him look cool.
60000000 homieWATS
Die Fledermaus looks different.
I wish there was a new F-zero game.
Don't we all, buddy. I've gotten back into GX lately and now I REALLY want a new game and it's so old I can't even keep threads alive on Ganker.
Nintendo has always been adverse to creating sequels that weren't "different" enough, but when 20 years have passed that should be a good enough reason to improve the graphics or throw in some gimmick. Like have a true career mode or something.
We will never get it. The game's world is situated in an 80s to 90s era dev team's mindset of the retro-futurist sci-fi that they experienced as a genre while they were kids, and the current age millennial devs would never understand that media as anything but references rather than direct experiences. Same reason we will also never see something like Space Channel 5 ever again. It's a game made by a specific generation of people (Gen-X'ers mostly) intimately celebrating a media that was a part of their generation - kind of like how Indiana Jones was a celebration of the action serials of old that Lucas and Spielberg saw on TV as kids.
I guess it's a fair enough comparison to also say that a new F-Zero would probably be as utterly terrible as Dial of Destiny was too. Nobody wants that. Just be glad the series ended on as good of a note as it did with GX. It's better than the series ending on a dogshit game instead.
As a Paper Mario fan, it's a fricking insult watching the SAME DEVELOPERS that worked on the original games butcher not just their own franchise, but Mario as a whole whenever a new game comes out.
Still can't believe people coped super hard with "IT'S A MANDATE BY NINTENDOOOOOO"
Frankly i don't want a revival for reasons you said.
I just want a remaster of GX so i can play it with other friends who like F-zero, not even online randoms just with normal friends, because i know online GX would be a nightmare with everyone just running fat sharks/black bulls
>GX online
>don't ban custom machines
>some homosexual moonglides and completes all 3 laps in 8 seconds total
>ban custom machines
>the snakegays zoom ahead, sacrificing their hands for speed
>everyone else dies in a clusterfrick of side attacks
>lap 3 ends up with 6 out of 30 machines alive after 4 minutes
Sounds like kino
There should also be a mode where everyone gets random machines
Nah, Nintendo doesn't care about anything other than Mario and Zelda goyslop. Occasionally they'll shit out something unrelated because they need to spend some cash, like Pikmin or Kirby.
>unlock fat shark in GX
>it gets added to the AI roster
>haven't finished the master cups yet
FUUUUUUUUUCK
I think the AI cheats too much for individual machine stats to really matter.
In the normal Grand Prix races, machine stats definitely matter. In a normal/hard cup I've never seen anything but the Fat Shark manage to catch my own Hyper Speeder on long flat tracks while the next machine was a full five seconds down.
absolutely, Fat Shark is a monster in Trident, fricker pulls 8 seconds or more on the next machine
>beat the game 100% twice, both in gamecube and emulator
>best position i got in this track is 15th
murdering the opposition is the best tactic
Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.
>Murder Black person bull in Chapter 7
>Blood Hawk goes apeshit and rubber bands so hard he's several seconds ahead of even the number 2 spot
I never saw that kind of behavior from him when I just took it normally.
that's true, blood hawk goes ballistic when you kill that horned clown
What I do in that event is kill him less than 2 seconds after we start, then murder+boost as much as i can hoping he makes a mistake and i can blast him to pieces. Chapter 7 is the biggest bullshit they pulled out in the game, especially in very hard
the only way I eventually won chapter 7 is when i murdered black bull and at some point blood hawk just sort of fell through the map at one of the corners
it's possible someone swiped him and he flew over the rail into the distance because god knows the physics get weird when you start getting pinballed but it looked to me like the rival tag just did a kickflip into the void
I can only assume this was an emulator bug because I have no idea what in the goddamn happened here otherwise. Shame it was only on Hard and not VH.
>spin2win out of bounds
>loyal lackey breaks game physics to follow you
top kek
I have seen them randomly die on actual hardware on that map before, but it's very rare.
Ah, not an emulator thing then. Whew. Neat it happened and I caught it, then- I'm not complaining when it's Chapter goddamn 7.
The Triple-Z? Agh, that doesn't line up with anything aestheticallly, damn three-piece building system. I like the -ZZ booster with its cool ricer spoiler but for B boosters the G4 is just better.
aesthetically, for boosters i liked the silverfish because it had 6 engines, two of each color, and the 88 because it had those square fins on the side, it reminded me of a tiny red gazelle. I also liked the -01, but being an E booster i only used it for the challenge
>two of each color,
Oh shit that sounds neat, I thought the Silverfish looked ugly but I'll have to grab it when I play next and see if it looks decent with one of the overhanging-rear wienerpits above it. This game has so much damn neat details with boosters, all the different colors and sounds.
I think the silverfish looks best on ships that go for the "long and thin" look
There's a custom ship named eliminator that uses the silverfish and pulls this look well
THAT'S FRICKIN SICK
I still need to really mess with some of the custom ships beyond the regularly mentioned stuff like the -G4 ships, the paper crane one and the HARD BANGER. There has to be some pretty neat combos out there to mess around with even if they aren't Master-beating machines. Shame most of the bodies are kind of jank though (since the standard machines cover all the bases you could really think of, even if there's some similarities like the "totally not Sonic Phantom" body) and I don't have friends around anymore to race custom machines against.
oh shit the hard banger, that thing is a fricking hover tank
My go-to custom ship was pic related, the combat goose-z
You can see them both spin so my assumption is them attacking something, maybe even each other, and launching off.
Nothing a bit of aggressive nudging can't solve.
all rivals must die
way she goes
>it's another "Anon fricks up the edge of track speed boost on Lateral Shifts and careens into the sand" episode
Reminder that if you didn't get first on Slim Line Slits on Mater you did NOT, by any stretch of the imagination, beat the god damn Diamond cup.
FRICK YOU and FRICK SLIM LINE SPLITS
I WILL eradicate every rival in the prior four races to ensure I can still win by getting 27th on Phantom Road and there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.
Yeah well, maybe one day. I was close once.
Now Master class Port Town on the AX cup, that's some bullshit that eludes me. I always rank low on that one.
SLS is fricking horrible, worst track in an otherwise great game and i feel no shame in cheesing it
>phantom road in story: no walls, don't frick up
>phantom road in cups: walls everywhere, half the machines can't even take corners properly the lanes are so narrow, AI shunts you into the walls constantly, most of your RETIREs will be from blowing up, whole track has a fricking seam right in the middle that unbalances your machine
>rubberband AI gets so tight it would be illegal to frick it
also the fricking walls are not only the magnetic stick-your-machine-to-it kind but they extend WAY further into the actual track than the graphics would suggest
I actually beat Chapter 9 on Very Hard the other day.
based, i still haven't done it
that damn taxi is so nice looking
Bravo, Anon.
Based, I've been working at completing Very Hard this past month. It's slow going. There have been save-states made. They haven't helped much in actually winning chapters any faster.
i wish custom machines weren't universally bad other than the flying gimmick ones and -g4 booster ones
>-g4 booster ones
weird, i always used the -z booster and getting 5+ seconds ahead of the next car is a common thing
>finish most of the cups with the Hyper Speeder
>go into practice and mess around with some of the other machines like the ones that can actually do the advanced tech
>momentum turbo sliding actually works, snaking works, strafing actually strafes and you can hit 2100km/h in two turns, red sparks consistently
>mfw this whole time I've been driving a fricking jet plane that only knows speed and have done 0% of the wacky tech the game is famous for
my hyper speeding BROTHER
the car just fricking werks man
FOREVER HE WILL BE MY HEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOO
JUST
me coping with the fact that jody will never sit on my face
I love those animated portraits so fricking much, all they do is wiggle around, spin, and 'laugh' by moving back and forth when they gain places but even just the slight barely-visible-at-native-res vibration they have when driving is 10/10
Damn, anon's got his stuff all tricked out, and he even made the triple booster look good. I'm totally stealing that one at the left with the Rapid Barrel body. Distinctly remember using the Acro Lynx-G4 back on the physical game but I also remember it being easy as hell so this time I'll try to use something less meta and maybe make it look purdy with that neat emblem-importer tool someone made.
>I'm totally stealing that one at the left with the Rapid Barrel body.
It's a named one called long shot. The one on the right is also a named one called out rider, it's not the best ship out there but it's quite nimble
I probably spent too much time making custom ships and trying them out
>I probably spent too much time making custom ships and trying them out
I don't even wanna think about how much time was spent switching between the garage and practice, heh. Nothing wrong with creativity, I love this shit. Could've sworn there was a button to quickly jump into practice but I guess I remembered wrong? I just found a super in depth guide by some Japanese fellow about exactly what parts have what hidden stats and what they do so that's pretty cool; won't be using the codes to unlock the event-specific AX parts yet though since no one made a code that unlocks just those or puts them in the shop instead of giving you every part in the game (which I don't have all of yet).
Hell yes it does. Takes a while to get up to speed but once it's there, damn do I like it even if it can barely strafe. Just jam both triggers in and it spins around corners like nothing and barely even bleeds speed. Truly an F-15 with clipped wings.
>Just jam both triggers in
is this a basic tech like mentioned in the instruction book?
Yeah, basic drift turns. The manual's info is skimpy to say the least since it's a sort of general guideline that doesn't take into account how wildly different most of the machines handles.
to expand, usually drift turning does the same thing as when you try making a sharp turn at a normal fast speed and the car goes SKRRRT and red sparks show up (and the camera stops sitting behind it), but some cars like the speeder don't really lose grip at all even if you try until speeds faster than even boosting speeds so drift turning basically just makes you turn way tighter with no control loss, and the speeder needs that because it doesn't turn for SHIT normally or with slide turns and quick turns aren't great either
>but some cars like the speeder don't really lose grip at all even if you try until speeds faster than even boosting speeds so drift turning basically just makes you turn way tighter with no control loss
superheavy custom ships like the megalo drifter also behave that way. They're a b***h and a half to control, but if you do this you can make turns at fast speeds.
I like to do drift turns mixed with blast turns, that thing where you drift then press A again to cancel your inertia
f zero revival when?
Man I wish GX had X's style
god i wish
posting this one since you already posted my favorite song in the game
WHEN I THINK OF YOU
I SEE NOT FEAR
FEEL NO PAIN
FOREVER HE WILL BE MY HERO
Is that batman
>someone's modding fricking Mario Kart DS into an F-Zero game
Would be pretty funny if they managed to keep the online multiplayer too
>work as a mechanic
>he drives in
>tells you to ”prep the bull”
What to do?
>Haha, here, this is your share. Take it
