Everyone I know who isn't already a fan of DD said DD2 looks like complete shit.
They're appealing to no one other than fans of the original, gonna flop like the first game for the exact same reasons, they learned nothing.
Nah
Wrpgs do everything better except soundtrack, and thats on average cause they are Wrpg with good soundtrack that blows most Jrpg-slop out of the water.
The rest Wrpg dominates easily, thing is, there is few Wrpg and tons of Jrpg junk
So it takes a while for a masterful Wrpg to come out.
What's wrong with gameplay? I know it's frustrating to actually have the potential to lose, but that's what makes winning feel so great. Can't get that feeling in any JRPG other than SMT.
The Witcher 3's combat is better, and it's not even that good. Worldbuilding, tone, atmosphere, voice acting/dubbing, writing in general... What can JRPGs even do? Inspire you to jerk off four times a day? Then again, TW3 gave even that aspect a run for its money.
Credit to Square where it's due, they've made a living off of exploiting talented artists and musicians to sell their "video games" for decades now. I imagine they'll retain that market for another decade at least.
>The Witcher 3 has influenced countless open-world, action-RPG extravaganzas since its debut eight years ago, mainly because the seemingly little vignettes you randomly stumble upon are just as impactful as the main quest. With Rebirth’s pivot into a wider play space, it’s no surprise that Square Enix would want to flesh out meaningful side quests, especially since that was a main criticism of Final Fantasy 16
This article doesn't explain jack shit, and it conveniently ignores that Remake has what is quite possibly the worst sidequests in video game history and utilized them as an excuse to sell what was essentially a demo reel as a full length title.
This director has a good taste because his favorite RPG is Witcher 3, he earned my respect and for that im going to give my attention to his game, it must be a good one.
I played FF7 remake and thought it was alright, but now with this i expect it will be a much better game with Rebirth, im sure this will be 90+ metacritic.
They will win awards too.
Good move from this director to be inspired by the legendary Witcher 3, all that is left for him is to execute it well.
>leave Midgar >now have rolling fields >have cliffs >have mountains >have desert >have Cosmos Canyon full of ganja hippies >have forests >have militarized port city made of iron & rusty pipes
gonna be kino
I can honestly say that I've never had fun playing a skyrimlike. I recommend their proponents read a book or a visual novel or even play an isometric RPG.
what baldurs gate 3 showed is that it is turn based that won. will square enix realize this or just continue to shove "action" slop down everyone's throats?
You're missing the real issue. Turn-based, Action, etc... any genre can be good, but not if you have an incompetent team designing it. Square can't do either. You'd have to have ignorance leaking out of your rectum if you genuinely believe Final Fantasy has ever had any relevance in the medium in regards to core game design mechanics and the execution and balancing of them. Square is not a game studio and never was.
BG3 is completely irrelevant in Japan so probably not
>BG3 is completely irrelevant in Japan
Based on what?
Sorry, DD2 is going to blow everything else out of the water.
wrpg.
Damn homie, you're moronic
that looks gay
I am deeply concerned that they're going to try to casualize it to try to turn it into a big IP.
Completely different appeal. Has no story.
>Has no story
What do you mean?

I'm fine with that.
He said that for sidequests, which Is the only thing wrpgs do better

wrpg graphics are worse and gameplay is also bad.

To be fair it should be listed as European RPGs, Burgers don't know how to make them.

I hope Baldurs Gate 3 influences part 3 of the Remake with a sex scene between Cloud and Tifa.
Beepzorzs lost
