I wanted this to be good so badly. I've played every single Final Fantasy and feel it's a standard-bearer in experimental and thought provoking roleplaying games.
This comes along and does a basic ass Game of Thrones aesthetic poorly and cringeworthy dialogue. It's actually lower quality writing than FFXIV - which is saying something since that game is 50% filler.
at least the gameplay is good though

It was really cool to see some story beats and the mystery of ifrit. Graffics look better than I thought they would too. Overall, I’m intrigued

Kind of true though, the music isn't good. It's just noisy, it's not elegant or well composed like 13 or earlier entries.

i know that yoshitpiss had his team literally watch GoT before making the game. but ive never watched GoT. never will. this game screams FFT to me, and when people describe GoT i just think of FFT. like if they made a live-action FFT it would just be literally GoT but with no sexy scenes
Matsuno's probably a bigger influence to those guys than George R.R. Martin. I think Tactics Ogre came out before the first book.
