Started it recently as a Risebaby. Don't like the slow start and I'll have to get used to not having the silkbind attacks, but it's still Monster Hunter so I'm having a good time.
I love the game but the quest progression being locked behind rank level is fricking annoying, i'm forced to grind quests with my friend who is lower rank so he can progress through the game.

I dont really mean to defend what you are talking about but in my POV the world ui and menus are fine. I am aware that there is alot more in the menus then there was in 4U and I didn't use half of them in world. So yeah I can understand getting lost in those menus. The 1 second time delay also didn't really effect me but I know what you are talking about. In rise it's like 3 seconds of wait time and it freezes the game for a microsecond aswell lol

I gave it a try with my friend, we both started with zero clue of what to do, everything feels clunky and confusing as frick, was kinda boring and made me lose interest.
I know that this will bother turbo-spergs, but Monster Hunter could use a serious streamlining.
There are so many systems and stuff in the game that add almost no depth. You don't need 47000 consumables or 25 different ammo types, you don't need weapons to require sharpening in the middle of a fight, you don't need fricking timed missions. You just need a core loop of tracking and hunting badass monsters, building and upgrading your weapons, and the cute shit like the canteen songs and palico to have a good game.
I like Hunting Horn and it is objectively way worse to play in Rise. Also Monster Hunter World looks better and runs buttery smooth on PS5 and PC. Also no rampages. The companion stuff and their little corner of the hub is cool. That's really the only thing Rise does better than World.
