Proto-wo-long.
It fits pretty snuggly in team ninja's library, it's a bit more focused on reactive gameplay than nioh 2, but not as much as wo long. A lot of counter tech versus dodging and avoidance. Lots of grind, DLCs that snap the main game in half.
Multiplayer is FANTASTIC but you'll never find anyone just playing unless you coordinate beforehand.
Over-the-top ham that is actually meant to be taken seriously. It's not a particularly great game but I enjoyed it more than Wo Long and Final Fantasy 16.
Is it worth the price if I have never played Nioh?
Raw early 2000's edgekino, with fun combat but forgettable levels and a story that is probably taking itself too seriously.

On sale? Hell yeah
How many hours is the game going to last? I buy games based on $/per hour.
I'm a moronic homosexual that likes to look around the levels and 'mire everything.
I also like to go back and grind enemies.
If you're a final fantasy fan, absolutely. Otherwise, Id still recommend it the tracks and battles and story are great, and the graphics are too if you've got a modern rig.
a game made out of contractual obligation with no real passion behind it
but somehow ended up better than expected
Jackino. It is impossible to hate a game that presents you with such an insanely varied moveset.

Thanks brothers, looks like i have found the game to play this last week of 2023.

Have fun soul break parrying. Also note if you haven't this is the prequel to the first final fantasy. Don't think the game ties into Dissidia but is more like an alternate universe only with no actual connection.

Yeah game has a world map where your can create/ join a lobby and leader selects the mission. Completing a mission completes it for the whole party.
Just be careful the 1 or 2 times you have a branch selection. If you don't both pick the same branch, you can still join each other's lobbies to help them complete, but you get no completion credit since you didn't have that mission unlocked already. I think it's like 3ish missions from branch until you can select the other branch missions if you do do this, so not too bad.
Oh and i think some scenarios and missions are forced single player but i don't remember it happening all except for the final leg of the main base game story.
I like Jack as a protagonist. He’s stupid, singleminded, and psychotic. He’s interesting in a humorous way despite (or better yet, in spite of) his cardboard personality

the most fun action game i have ever played, but i had to stop after the main game because getting into the DLC felt too intimidating to dive into all at once. if you can't appreciate unbearably cheesy characters you'll have a hard time getting into it
lots and lots, yes they are hard, but you will have improved by the time you get there. the salient issue is that you need a cohesive and functioning build to get through the DLCs, whereas the base game you can get through with a build that makes no sense just equipping the highest item level gear you have
I did and it's straight up worse than Lancer. Jump doesn't even make you invulnerable for the entirety of the animation and you miss out on a lot of break damage from afar that's especially useful on those little goofy fricks that hit hard I forget their name. They have a knife in hand.
the game is insanely ugly, story is moronic and no amount of based cringe edge kino can save it. No characters are likeable outside of said le cringe man. Combat is a mess and you cant really stick to a certain playstyle.

Try the demo.

Over 50 easily.
If you like to grind and want to truly minmax and see EVERYTHING, over 100 0 issue.

How does the multiplayer work? Can you just play
through the game from start to finish? Gonna play it with a friend soon

A fun time, as long as you respect his strength.

His cardboard personality at least has an explanation so it's actually beneficial to my suspension of disbelief.

I played and beat the game but I heard the DLCs are all really hard, is this true? How much new content do the dlc add?

How many levels/bosses/jobs do the DLC add?
I've played for 10 hours and why is Lancer's Hurl OP? How am I supposed to have fun with anything? I'm playing on hard.
Switch to Dragoon

Chadberries, communist little bastards
Other jobs have fun shit too. Part of the game is trying out other jobs/weapons to witness their mechanics.
edgykino
also the gun shotgun class is overpowered asf
better than Final homosexual XVI.
I do admit the game is fun (somehow), but playing it ruins ff 1 for me, hence pass.
and how exactly does it do that
im about to buy this as well how long is this game
>What am I in for?
Boredom

I'm disappointed in you guys, 35 posts and no one said CHAOS
Its simply been too long I've forgotten Jack's strength...
Just Nioh Final Fantasy: Extra Cubes Addition
encumbrance and a resolve to kill chaos you can only respect
Edgekino with good gameplay. Decent story with a nice twist on the original FF. This game is an anomaly, it shouldn't exist yet it does.
