it will be a fun and novel game if youve never played asymmetrical type stuff before. Just treat it like you would a silly party game the moment you start to try to min max stuff you'll realize how fricking moronic the game is and you'll just seethe regardless of what side you play.
If you play solo survivor it's actually a fair challenge
Survivor with Friends is shockingly easy because the game was made with them thinking people would use the honor system and not actually coordinate using voice calls

Killers crying that their power fantasy takes a minimum amount of skill to employ. Unironically complaining about cooperation in a multiplayer game with a party system as well.

One of the most unique multiplayer experiences currently on the market that is bogged down by a fricking insanely out of touch development team and a fanbase that's like 50/50 chill af or league player tier toxic. There's no inbetween.
As killer, the game starts off really easy since new survivors have no game sense and you win doing whatever you want. Once you get good survivors it becomes bullying-the-killer simulator due to all the second chance mechanics, dozens of pallets on each map, and power of gen rushing.
Well, the game can be fun if you get the hang of how to efficiently play it. But if you play it like you're roleplaying a horror movie you're going to have a bad time. If you're survivor and you're taking things slow and trying to hide and sneak a lot, you're going to be worthless and never get chase practice in.
Killer is worse, though. A killer who doesn't know how to efficiently use their time and exit bad chases is going to get wrecked a lot even at low ranks I think. Or that was the case when I played years ago. I got up to the highest rank and was still doing okay but the game does not play like you'd expect. It's a whole lot of hit and run harassment and kicking generators and very little sustained chasing to actually try and murder people.

Some guy having called you a gay in league doesn't mean shit. People literally get DOXED in fricking DBD since it has security issues that they memory holed. People will stalk you across steam, going so far as to find some 10 year old review you made on another game just so they can scream how they wish you'd die.
There's also no punishment for such behavior and it is encouraged by the devs. In league, your ass will get sent to a low priority queue for being a total homosexual, or get chat banned. In DBD you pretty much have to cheat to get banned and even then, they will only listen to a report if that person was for some reason recording with shadowplay and has a video.
The game is trash, unbalanced, and I'd rather go to hell than involve myself with that community.
I don't think I've played a game where people get mad at you for playing the objective, either doing gens or killing survivors. Most players are simply mentally ill and the game enhances their illness.
Actually sacrifice a survivor? You're tunneling

Use strong perks? Sweaty tryhard
I understand there's antagonism between the parties because the asymmetrical gameplay system enforces it, but damn if some people don't really carry it too far because some just want to play bully the killer.

Nope. In fact it's still an issue. Behavior has addressed this 3 times, claiming to have fixed it each time, and they never did.
