This is a strange statement which can easily be misunderstood, it's not a good idea to joke it up and assume people will understand it. Playing the entire MSQ in one go is not the same experience as the piecemeal consumption of it hence new players oftentimes not seeing what all the fuss was about.
This was golden age of fan speculation and communal homogeneity, it's difficult to say that it had anything to do with the game itself.
I remember getting out of the first dungeon and looking at the night sky after the cutscene was over, listening to the night theme. One of the high points tbh. Apparently it's pure rng and it can be daytime there if you're unlucky.
The cutscene does a good enough job of conveying that but yeah it was such a simple yet moving moment to each zone. I can not believe Yoshida thought the fricking mood ring flower was comparable in any way.

WoW is the most clunky game that is still alive. You can't even raid in that game without 3-4 mods that tell you what to do in every fight.
I love XIV but it's undeniably not a responsive game. The server tick rate, the snapshotting, the animation locks, it's all offputting at first. Once you adapt to it raiding feels pretty great but that takes some time.
single player world of warcraft
A pretty solid time, although you sadly missed out the golden years of XIV.

Boring novel shit for troonys
Zenos Sexos
from that point till the aftermath of the first dungeon is one of the best sections of the MSQ
Pure kino

A good but overwanked story.
fricking kino
better than endwalker and stormblood
not as good as heavensward
A fun time that was retroactively ruined by a pink haired moron troonylator.
Absolute kino
Realizing that Emet Selch did nothing wrong.
The game's peak.
Final Fantasy HIV
clunkier world of Warcraft but with a decent story and world building

there is a delay on pretty much every action in xiv
i say this as a massive fan of the game

great msq
Kino. Run, you fool.
The greatest kino ever made
An ok expansion were the scions do something
An expansion so good and so beloved that the next one is completely ruined by DUDE REMEMBER SHADOWBRINGERS???
>The next one
As will DT and 8.0 and 9.0 and 10.0
Real XIV players have read Aquinas so you're preaching to the choir here.
An expansion that is worse than its worshippers claim yet better than its haters decry.
>phlebotomize
>fracture
we gotta go back
Total christcuck death.
You will never be a woman or a pagan.
