The only memorable part of this game is the 1000 Years of Dreams VNs
The rest of it is a mediocre jrpg at best with encounters every 3 steps that take 30 seconds to load in

Nice game. You have to be in the mood for a "traditional" JRPG experience when it comes to the actual game part. As says 1000 Years of Dreams is where you'll experience some of the most memorable parts of the game.

Sure, it's boring if you're a zoomer with a completely fried brain.

I loved those stories. Too bad they hardly factored into the plot of the game.

All the people who left SE who made the good Final Fantasies went and made this. Its more Final Fantasy than FF has been in like 20 years.

You guys remember when Microsoft tried to actually get games on their console? Remember when they were trying so desperately during the 360 era to appeal to the Japanese market by getting some JRPG exclusives? What ever happened to this Microsoft? Now they are a cucked corporation with pockets way too deep and would rather get woke points with the gay crowd. And somehow they have no games to show for it. Why?

funny how 360 was a better console for weebs than the PS3

Is Eternal Sonata good? If I'm not mistake... is it about Chopin?. I think I've skipped it because of that. I'm not interested with his life story. But I'm more willing to try it now if it was good.

If you temper your expectations it's a nice game to go through. It's also got a really nice soundtrack if you're in for some comfy music. That includes Chopin, too.

That only on xbox thing was such bullshit. MS was the very first to have bought all that timed exclusive shit that people whine about in regards to Sony. Enchanted Arms for example is on the PS3. MS fooled us all into thinking they had somehow acrquired all these exclusive games like Lost Planet, Enchanted Arms, Mass Effect, etc, and it was all a big scam to get people to buy the shitbox. Sony I suppose did shoot themselves in the foot with their overpriced console thinking people would dish out $700 for a damn console.

They didn't do it because they were passionate about putting out good games or anything, they just thought the Japanese market was a significant enough share to be worth pursuing. Turns out it wasn't really worth it for the investment involved and better to just make sure seasonal blockbuster IPs like CoD or Fifa/NBA were on their system.

      >What ever happened to this Microsoft?
They realized that they could make more money by leaning into Call of Duty and other big budget western games. What Microsoft did with the 360 and trying to get Japanese developers was a huge over correction from the Xbox where they had virtually no Japanese developer support. They only had Tecmo and Itagaki making DoA and Ninja Gaiden, which to be fair was a phenomenal game for Microsoft at the time.

The video game industry, and the entire world for that matter, is so profoundly different compared to 2005 which is why Microsoft and the Xbox business is a complete mess these days. Everything I've read about Xbox shows that the people who started Xbox who all passionate people and Xbox succeeded in spite of all the bullshit Microsoft did, and that was true throughout the 360's life as well. As time goes on the corporate, soul sucking influence of Microsoft won out which is why we have the Xbox business of today.

Quite the enlightening post on that second paragraph. I can believe it though. The Xbox had a fun and even hopeful presence about it with those first two consoles. You knew certain things were shit like the RROD but there was still hope that Microsoft would get it all together and that the third Xbox was going to blow the competition out the water. Instead what happened is they epically fumbled in the worst way possible. Even Phil admits that it was the worst gen for them to lose. The have not really recovered since.

cool game although mechanically at times it feels like a snes game with modern graphics, both in combat and exploration, like you have to push boxes to be able to pass in places where you could easily just step over and stuff like that. it's not necessarily a bad thing, mind you, I had a lot of fun with it. that said, last third of the game is xenogears level of rushed and cut. AMAZING soundtrack

I played it for a few hours somewhat recently. Only got to the magical tower bit. I only got one novel segment about dying girl or something, it seemed kinda pointless as it was completely disjointed from the main story and main character was a completely different person in it, an actual human being instead of a derpy emotionless 'cool' robot.
