unironically one of the worst games i have every played. yes, i was filtered as all hell. the game plays like a round of monopoly where all the other players are out to get you, and simple things like traversing the map and opening chests are way more cumbersome and annoying than they need to be. maybe there is a fun game hidden in there, but i never found it.
Utter trash, no matter how much the contrarians of Ganker try to say otherwise. Saga games have always been different than the norm jrpg stuff but this is just trash. The roulette wheel alone is bullshit enough to never bother with the game.
>muh contrarians
This is basically a niche game in a niche series. Even amongst SaGa fans only a fraction of players are autistic enough to understand how to play it "properly".
It's one of the weirdest game every made, but not in a good way.
It's different for the sake of being different. The only thing good about it is the music which is god tier but the gameplay is horrendous, maybe the story is good but I'll never find out because no story is good enough to justify slam my head through the wall for.
The SaGa games fricking suck because the main guy cares more about making his games obtuse than enjoyable but people pretend to like them because they don't want to be accused of being "filtered".
It is the worst game ever made. The only game that I have taken back to get a full refund for and despite buying it new, got a full refund for. The cashier said I wasn't even the first person to return it.
You're in for some confusion. There is a decent/good JRPG in there if you stick with it. It isn't a game in which you take previous JRPG mechanics knowledge into and expect to know what you're doing. As with a lot of games in the series it gives you a general gist of how things work, but you have to experiment and pay a little attention while you play to understand more. People complain about the reel, but it isn't that much different from timed button presses in other JRPGs that have a timed button press. The reel repeats if you wait, and it is often your characters skill versus the level of the thing you're using it against. The higher the skill level for the action you're using the more success panels you'll have for that action. Then for HP people have the misconception that HP works like in other JRPGs when it's more like stamina and it is a buffer for your life points. Take your time and relax with Unlimited Saga.
Great music and aesthetic, complex gameplay.
Have you ever played DnD with boards and figurines, and thought "I wish this was 10 times as complicated"?
Massive autism and Hamauzu going ham.
Read the manual.

I wasted my birthday present on this. It doesn't even have good resale value. Big regret
A non-retro game.
The game is nearly 20 years old. Gen 5 of consoles was considered "retro" when /vr/ was made in 2013.

tell me you are a newbie without telling me you are a newbie

which is ironic because the rpg elitists bragging about people being filtered would never dare touching an actual hard game
It's a game that presents you with two choices: Gittin gud or being a whiny little b***h.
The 80s CRPG approach!

It released right after normalgays played FFX, so they expected more of that and instead got one of the only real RPGs Japan ever made.
Nobody survived.
